“What happened?”
Mier had woken up in bed an hour away from the first rays of sunlight to show, he looked around to see his mother by the bedside along with his father and sister, the one he had sacrificed everything for.
“Mom, Dad.” They all look up to meet his eyes, grey, black, and gold met, the colors of their eyes were a wonder to everyone. “What is this?” The queen gasped, Mier had turned his arm to see black vine tattoos spreading across his hand to his heart and all over his abdomen, he dared not look at his privates because he knew.
“He claimed you, you survived it but it shouldn’t have spread like that.” The king assessed his son in shock. “It seems your entity has given in to the demon, now it’s up to you to decide though it’s not hard.” Mier knew what this meant and what his choice was.
As his parents stood in his bedroom even more concerned about him, Mier looked at his body once more then his parents. “I will never submit to the demon who kills with no mercy or remorse of any kind, I won’t give up my will and freedom to fight.” His eyes glowed with power even more ferocious than before and he felt alive for the first time.
His parents could feel the power within their son rise and they knew not to worry because he would be alright. “Promise me you’ll be safe.” Mier looked at his sister and nodded, it was all he could do to convince the girl that he would be fine.
“Let’s eat breakfast then help you with your things.” His mother announced though her heart was breaking she knew that she had to be strong, she had to be a strong mother for her son, she could not waver.
The family descended the stairs into the dining hall after leaving Mier’s room, the food was set but instead of six settings, they were eight, none of the the family members questioned it they knew who it was so they ignored it.
The family began to eat as chatter filled the table, they didn’t want to send their son off in anger or sadness. “I thought you are to wait for your king.” The demon exclaimed, he looked dangerous as he stood by the table.
“We are sorry your grace.” The second eldest child of the king and queen spoke bowing his head, the demon huffed and sat with his general whom Mier recognized.
Having masked the mark on his body it perplexed the king why his claim mark had not shown on the witch’s body, when he saw his wrist and the black band he smiled to himself knowing the mark was there.
The breakfast was completed in utter silence, as no one dared to speak in fear of the king lashing out, he could easily attack and they did not want that for Mier.
“We leave in an hour.” The king announced making Mier look at his parents with teary eyes, this was it. “You can cry at your own time, after we have left, I have things to do, I am a king after all!” The demon spoke harshly making the third child of the king and queen flinch.
“Stop yelling it’s too early in the morning, we’ve heard you alright, so stop acting as if you’re the goddess incarnate, we get it you’re the king, so stop trying so hard to make us believe it.” Mier responded and everyone held their breath only the king’s plus one at the table burst out laughing.
As the witch stood up to leave a wave of black matter was sent toward him and like reflex a grey shield engulfed him. “Absorb.” He commanded and the shield absorbed the matter, making everyone gasp and the witch smirk. He walked away leaving the table with a smug grin on his face whilst everyone was shocked at what he had performed.

The demon king sat in the room provided for him along with his friend and second in command. “You’re making an enemy out of someone who can rival your power Alquin.” The demon spoke as he sat in the king’s room. “I doubt I am, and he’s only bested me once Saytor.” The demon sighed and stood up, he walked to the chair his king sat and grabbed the bottle of wine next to him.
“You’ve managed to have the witches under control but knowing them, they will probably have you overpowered soon enough, you taking brides from the five portraying it as some sort of alliance whilst just trying to make sure the demons aren’t attacked might not go so well with the witches.” He argued looking at Alquin.
“The vampires agreed to it, the Lycans too, the fae as well, leaving the witches who were adamant, I’m just saying that stop using brute force and be nice, I’m sure Marcos wouldn’t be pleased with what you did to acquire this new bride.” He further explained.
The demon king scoffs. “My first husband has some say in my life but just because he’s the matriarch and has given me a son won’t change the way I want to do things.” Alquin asserted.
“Perhaps not.” Saytor replied his king whilst drinking his wine. “In time he will learn to love you and your six husbands I hope.” The two demons drank their wine in silence as the hour passed.
“The gateway to home has been opened we must leave.” Saytor announced and Alquin nods to his friend and stood up to leave, he wondered how to get through to his new bride when his spirit is wild, free, and ferocious.
It would certainly take an ocean to quench the hatred burning within the witch after he placed the claim on him unwillingly, he also wondered what it would feel like to have the witch beg for him, want him, desire him, and feel the warmth of being inside him.
The witch elicited desire which could not be easily put out and it made him even more so hungry for his lips and the feel of his skin, If only he would not hate him.
As they walked past the castle which was now fully repaired he saw his new bride waiting with parents, his grey eyes were like a flame of silver, which could freeze or burn anything away.
“I will visit if I can, I love you, mom and dad.” The demon cleared his throat, “Goodbye Ramar.” The king and queen did not want this but it was for the best, even if they had not the whole truth to their son it was still for the best that he left with the demon king.
And It was for the best he did not know why, the gateway was opened for the demon army another for the vampires to return to their own kingdom.
“Shall we.” The demon held out his hand but Mier did not take it, he walked ahead not looking back, it would be too painful to watch.
Walking out the other side of the gateway, the kingdom of the demons was much like the witches, only that the castle was at the east point of the whole kingdom, slightly above everything else as if to overlook the city, countryside, and Valleys.
“Welcome back your grace.” A woman who looked to be in her early thirties greeted the king, Mier stood silently not knowing what to do yet knowing he was to stay silent. “I see you’ve brought him, he is indeed beautiful, hello I’m Malia, the king’s second advisor.” She offered yet Mier only nods with disinterest.
“Oh boy.” She whispered looking at Saytor who only sighed. Out of nowhere, fire came blazing toward the four. “Grey Flame Shield.” The shield appeared as was summoned and protected Mier along with Saytor and Malia from the fire.
“Absorb.” The flames were absorbed and the shield taken away. “Thanks.” Saytor spoke in unison with Malia but Mier did not respond, he didn’t want to. “Was I not worth protecting as well?” The king questioned harshly. “Yes.” Mier replied making the demon king angry but he knew in the witch’s mind he was the enemy.
“Sorry babe was training.” A man who stood at six feet approached the king and passionately kissed him making his anger disappear, a little boy appeared as well, he looked four but Mier knew better, he could be in his hundreds.
Mier stood contemplating his life, he was claimed by a king with a son and a husband already, he felt like a homewrecker, worthless, and undeserving of love.
This was his life now and he knew he couldn’t change it. “Oh, is this him, I’m sorry I got carried away, I’m Marcos, Alquin’s first husband and matriarch, this is my son Lake.” The witch did not respond only crouched down to meet the gaze of the little boy.
“Hello.” The little boy giggled and walked to Mier who opened his arms for a hug, the two hug briefly astonishing Marcos and the king, Mier had needed the hug more than anything as he sighed finding a little calm.
“Thank you.” He mumbled with a smile toward the boy as he went back to his dad, children were innocent it was those who have grown who are wrong, Mier knew that all too well. “Come on everyone is excited to see you.” Malia and Saytor had walked in ahead already because this was a family moment.
“I’m sorry for how you got here, but please give it a chance, I know it’s asking a lot but try.”
