Defeats and Plans in the Dark.

With the recent defeat and failure to kill his genera, Alquin sat by the balcony of the newly built castle, the demon kingdom was mostly a desolate land except for the demon nobles who supported the king and his ways, others had been coerced to side with Alquin or die and death wasn’t as favorable.

The demon king knew he was ready to fight and win but with what Jon had told him, and the realization that another demon could take his throne with one wrong move, he was adamant in trying, his son had put him down with ease, having been taught by the strongest witch in all the five kingdoms, Mier had surely played his cards well, destroyed him from the inside, taken his kingdom from him from the shadows along with his strongest allies, he couldn’t live it down, he had to fight.

“Your grace, what troubles you?” Tristan questioned as he stood by Alquin, his wings had turned a shade darker, Alquin knew he was practicing the fae dark script but compared to that of Everin, he stood no chance. “I only think of the future dear mate, a battle is fast approaching, have you found our allies yet?” The king questioned looking out to the beautiful garden. “The fae have returned to their home, the kingdom has been secured and they all fall under Everin’s protection, he and his mate have been crowned along with their heir being born.”  Tristan recounted all that he had dug up, making Alquin realize plays had truly been made in the dark.

“So the fae will not stand with us, we cannot coerce them, if I wasn’t angry I’d be impressed, but you are sufficient, grow your power, we will strike soon.” Alquin remained silent afterward, he knew the fae had been easy targets at first but now they weren’t, a true royal with the power to back up his claim and fight had taken the throne and no one could remove him from it. “I will do so.” Tristan placed a kiss on Alquin’s cheek and left, he was further stressed over the potential threat his kingdom now faced, they could all easily attack him now, and destroy him.

As the afternoon rolled out Alquin noticed the silence of his home, no servant or maid had come to call him for lunch, he couldn’t feel anyone besides two beings in the entirety of the new castle and it unsettled him. “Jon.” He called out and the Lycan walked into the room then to the balcony where he had been called. “My lord.” Jon answered placing a palm on his stomach, his child was growing strongly with the blood of a king. “How is our child?” Alquin inquiried as he rubbed the Lycan’s stomach.

“Our child is alright, he’s strong like his papa.” Jon comforted Alquin as he was led to a seat next to the king. “The servants have fled haven’t they?” Alquin assessed and Jon nodded with a sigh. “In the dead of night most of them, they are protected by the new Lycan king.” Jon’s response was a sad one, talking about home reminded him of what had happened to his family, the shadow kin had killed them, along with him, the new king helping them, they had no mercy for even his baby sister. “I’m sorry to bring this up, but how do you know Lampard?” Alquin questioned rubbing Jon’s stomach.

“My family and his were once joined by union as both of us were of royal descent, they produced the patriarch and my family the matriarch, but my father was greedy for power, so he placed a few bribes, convinced the Lycan packs to side with him and attack Lampard and his family, though they were strong, it was a thousand to one man, Lampard witnessed his family’s destruction and death but escaped that night, no one knew where he went until he showed up to take his place.” Jon relayed everything wiping tears away as he saw the major reason why his own family was murdered.

“It seems your family was guilty of the deaths.” Jon nodded looking out to the garden. “He shouldn’t have killed my baby sister, she was innocent.” He argued but Alquin chuckled. “When your family killed his there wasn’t regard for innocence, he simply did what they did, I’m sorry to say.” Alquin remorsefully spoke but Jon knew it was true, there wasn’t a way to change it. “Have you spoke to Lampard, he can’t harbor fugitives.” Alquin mumbled but the Lycan chuckled instead of the demon king.

“In times of war my lord, those rules don’t apply, death comes for all and for those who wish to survive breaking the rules is the only way, when I died I finally realized the truth, I shouldn’t have done all that I had, I caused more misery than good, I caused more upheaval and death than good, I was the one who caused more of a mess than anyone, I deserved the death that Malia and Mier’s child brought on me.” This confession had been what Jon was holding back, he had realized this after being brought back by Ramar the witch king, along with a lot of things.

“I will avenge you, my love, I promise.” Alquin kissed him deeply, promising security and love that Jon clung to. “No need to avenge me, I’ve learned to be at peace with it, honestly more of what happened had been our fault, and now we’re fighting for our survival.” The lycan concluded resting his head beneath Alquin’s head, where his heart beat strongly. “We will survive, first I must talk to Lampard, Ramar and the vampires, if I can convince them to fight on our side therefore we stand a chance.” The demon king expressed taking in the scent of his mate.

“I doubt that would work, all the kingdom have been under your rule, would they leave freedom for dictatorship?” Jon asked knowing full well the situation they were in, he wasn’t going to honey coat words to ease Alquin’s distress, there was no point.

“That won’t be necessary.” A voice all too familiar spoke, Tristan appeared in the room ready to fight, he gasped looking at the quintessence of sensuality, danger, and dominance that stood in front of him, his breath hitched, his skin felt tight, shivers raked his body, how had this vampire not been a god, he was beautiful, he was dazzling and most of all he made any who gazed upon him want to bend to his will and do his bidding.

“Villa.” Alquin whispered mesmerized by the man. “Hello Alquin, miss me.” The vampire taunted and Alquin chuckled. “Very much so my love, have you come to deliver a message from your father.” The demon king replied and the temperature suddenly dropped, a dark fog seeped around the balcony, everything it touched ice would be left branching out. Alquin could feel it, until he saw the mark, the same one he had, the same one Saytor had. “The mark of the goddess, I’ve seen it, on Mier and Saytor, and the king.” Tristan mumbled and Alquin finally understood the gravity of the situation he was in.

In a flash, Jon was behind the demon king. “How dare you attack my home.” Alquin hissed but another chuckle behind him made him turn. “Lore.” Jon spoke, terrified by the seven foot man. “I killed you, I’m guessing someone brought you back, listen little king, one wrong move and it’s bye bye baby demonlycan and little concubine.” Lore smirked seeing the desperation in Alquin’s eyes.

“Your little army has been defeated.” Lampard appeared beside Villa with a grin matching a bloodhound which had gotten its fill. “Easy to kill demons really, ones that wouldn’t bend the knee and some for fun.” He asserted as Jon struggled. “You monster I’ll—.” Jon threatened but a backhanded slap had him clutching his side. “You’ll what whore, huh you’ll what?” Lampard asked his eyes menacing and Jon submitted, he was surrounded by stronger men, they could easily kill him.

“Your little treaty to my father is broken, Ramar Wrath has had his abilities sealed, and now awaiting trial by her majesty the Queen of the witches and witch council of elders, those who follow you have been killed.” It was her, the next queen of the witches. “How did you like my death fog, pretty cool huh.” She teased looking at Alquin who wanted to lunge for her but his child was at risk, any reckless action would mean death. “You’re the one who created that fog.” Tristan mumbled and she laughed. “Of course Tristan, it’s cute how you wanted to find a cure to something you knew nothing about.” She spat and Tristan was more hurt with words than before.

“Only one persons could destroy that fog and sadly he’s a one of the rare witches, A for effort though.” She chuckled again looking at the fae who wanted to fight her. “I will make sure to take care of my nephew perfectly, he has been traumatized by his own father after all.”  Everin spoke stepping out from the darkness earning a gasp from Tristan. “Poor Lakey, sweet child, it’s now my duty to keep him away from you and your corrupt ways, only an aunt could do that.” The next queen of the witches stated with a smile but Alquin roared but did not move.

“Don’t touch my son, he’s my blood, you won’t corrupt him, I will have him back!” Alquin roared but everyone looked at him with pity. “You’re not fit to be a father to such a sweet child, your ways will only corrupt him, and as his family, we’ll protect him from you.” Everin defended as he stood next to the woman who was the next queen. “You’ve lost Alquin.” Villa finally spoke as his power washed over everyone, he stood in regal form exuding a power only the other three beside him could.

“I Villa the vampire king, will not be aiding you in any endeavor, the witches, the fae, and the Lycans are a united front now, you will not subjugate us, coerce us or murder our people, this is the treaty of peace all I need is your blood on it, you will leave the kingdoms alone, and we will not kill any demon that moves along with your child.” Villa asserted and Alquin growled in defiance. “Just accept the damn treaty demon.” Lampard contended as Alquin hesitated. “Maybe he needs encouragement, baby hurt the lycan.” Lampard sweetly instructed Lore and the shadow child cut Jon’s arm and released his magic into the wound so it wouldn’t heal but bleed out.

“Please Alquin, think of the child, think of the future, this way is better.” Tristan begged the demon king who was now at a loss, they had outwitted him, used the cover of shadows to do their bidding and now he was being forced to sign a treaty that would ensure he couldn’t fight back or have revenge, but he thought of the lycan with his child, he had to consider him, he had to. “Time is wasting Alquin.” Everin wistfully spoke his wings glowing in the evening sun.  Alquin moved to cut his palm with a single claw. “Salom em tarnez espho.” Villa cast as Alquin’s blood dripped onto the paper forming a bind in his name.

“Here.” Lore pushed Jon to an awaiting Alquin, he moved to Lampard’s side. “That wasn’t so bad, don’t screw us again, if you do, you will surely die.” Lampard warned as a shadow portal opened, he and Lore vanished. “Peace is all we ever wanted, we won’t do anything like you did, we aren’t that cruel.” The next witch queen asserted looking at their three enemies before she too vanished. “Your child will grow up healthy and strong, when he turns five find me and I will heal him.” Everin directed his statement to Jon, the Lycan nodded in appreciation before the fae vanished.

“I was never yours to have Alquin, I belong to another, I won’t ask them to destroy your kingdom, but I will if you break the treaty, so please don’t break it, let the demons thrive again, without hostility, and don’t use others to fight your battles, let that be you who does it.” Villa spoke with a sincerity that evoked emotion from Alquin, it was true he was never meant to be his.

Villa vanished from where he was along with his powerful dominance. “Are you alright?” Alquin questioned both his remaining mates and the two nodded to him, they were alright now that they knew the other kingdoms wouldn’t attack.

Fear the demon for he comes in the night, Fear Lucifer for he comes for blood. I will have my revenge and everyone will bow to the demons once again.
