Ok, so I’ve only been to Catholic weddings, so if the vows are weird that’s why. I’ve never seen a gay wedding, so I made it all up based on straight religious weddings I’ve been to.

Nico checked the mirror, analyzing his appearance. He would hate if there was something wrong with his outfit, hair or makeup, because if that was in the wedding photos, he’d be so mad. Reyna walked in. She bit her bottom lip and looked up, fanning her face.
“Rey, knock it off!” Nico laughed. Reyna smiled.
“I can’t help it! You’re like my little brother and my son all mixed together! You look wonderful,” she said, wrapping her arms around his shoulders. Nico smiled. Reyna was just the best grooms-woman ever. His groom’s party consisted of Hazel, his best woman, Piper, Annabeth, and Reyna as his groomswomen, and (if he decided to show) his father. He had asked his father to come to the wedding, because it meant a lot that he did. Nico had wanted to ask him to give him away as well, but he wasn’t sure if he’d even come.
“Is he here?” Reyna looked at her shoes. Nico sighed.
“He promised, Rey. He…he said he’d be coming. I want him to…I want him to give me away, or at least be here!” All of a sudden a figure appeared in the shadow of the vanity. Hades stepped out, in an all black suit with yellow flowers pinned to his jacket, just like the other groomsmen had. Nico’s face lit up.
“You came!” Hades shifted awkwardly.
“Yes, well. You are my son after all, and I hear weddings are a big deal for mortals. If it’s a big deal for you, it’s a big deal for me.” Hades twisted his knuckles. He looked extremely out of place and uncomfortable. Nico didn’t care. His wish had come true.
“I’m gonna talk to Hazel. I’ll be back to get you when it’s time.” She left and closed the door carefully behind her.
“Nico, I…I told you years ago that my children don’t typically get happy endings. Now, that’s always been my brothers’ fault, but I’m glad that I could save you from Zeus. I told you that I had wanted you to be the exception to the sadness. I didn’t realize that the exception was always Will. It always will be William, because he is the light to your darkness, the darkness you inherited from me. Now I will never understand why he just had to be an Apollo child, but he makes you happy.” Nico smiled.
“He makes me more than happy. I feel loved. I know how much I’m loved because he shows me.” Hades nodded.
“Good. Well, I’m proud son. I don’t say that enough. I’ll be in the back row, should you need me.” Hades turned to leave, but Nico stopped him.
“Wait, Dad. I have something to ask you.” Nico took a deep breath. “Could you…give me away?” Hades’ eyes widened and his shoulders relaxed.
“What…what does that mean?” he asked, nervously.
“It means…you walk me down the aisle. Haze was supposed to do it, but it would mean so much if you did. You just walk down the isle with me, and then hug me at the end and shake Will’s hand. Then you sit with the groomswomen. Please, Dad?” Nico begged.
Hades smiled, a rare occasion to be present for. “Of course my son.” Nico returned the grin, and wrapped his father in a hug.
Reyna knocked, opening the door. “Showtime!”
–
Will straightened his suit. He didn’t have much to do except worry. Kayla, his best woman, tried to keep him busy with jokes and funny stories, but he was a wreck. Nervous, but he knew once he saw Nico that would leave. His mother sat beside him, holding his hand. She smiled and whispered sweet nothings to calm him, occasionally singing to him quietly.
Reyna knocked and opened the door. “Hey! Update, rather than Hazel giving Nico away, it’s gonna be Hades.”
“He came?” Will asked incredulously. Reyna smiled and nodded. “Oh, that’s great. Nico’s probably so happy.”
“He is. I just wanted to tell you so you wouldn’t have a panic attack over shaking a god’s hand.” Will nodded and gave a thumbs up.
“Thanks.” He looked at the paper in his hand. He read his vows over in head for the millionth time. He still couldn’t believe it was his wedding day. Lou Ellen, Cecil, and Austin popped their heads in, one on top of another.
“Come on, man! It’s time to get up there!”

Will watched Percy throw petals. He assumed Annabeth had told him to be good, and not too dramatic, because he just threw them a couple inches in the air. Will laughed as Percy took his seat. Then Nico’s groomswomen came down the aisle. First, Annabeth, in a mermaid style dress, in the pale yellow color Nico had picked. Then Piper, in a simple but beautiful gown. Reyna timidly came down the aisle in a dress with a wide skirt and top that wrapped around her upper body. Finally, gorgeous Hazel, in her ball gown style dress. Then, oh gods, it was him.
Nico looked so perfect. The beautiful, perfectly straight smile on his lips, his freckles across his olive skin, the angled wing of his eyeliner. His black curly-ish hair was naturally tousled. Gods of Olympus he was breathtaking. His black suit jacket and pants contrasted with his pale yellow tie. He glided down the aisle, arm and arm with his father, who was dressed in all black with a yellow rose pinned to his jacket like Nico. They met Will at the arch in the front of the chairs. Hades hugged his son and Will held a hand out for him to shake. Will was surprised when he pulled him into a hug.
“I trust you with my Niccolo. I know you won’t disappoint me, son.” Will help back tears at Hades calling him son.
“I won’t, sir.” Hades pulled away and clapped Will gently on the back.
Nico smiled at Will. Will returned the grin, letting his jaw drop slightly. They joined hands, and faced the officiator.
“We are here today to…” she began.
–
“Your vows?”
Will pulled the paper out of his jacket pocket. He faced Nico with a nervous smile.
“Oh, I’m gonna regret working so hard on this eyeliner!” Nico said, fanning his face. Everyone laughed.
“Nico di Angelo, we’ve been together since we were fifteen. I know practically everything about you, even how you like your eggs for breakfast. I wake up every morning with a smile on my face knowing I get to spend my day with you. You have been my best friend and my boyfriend, and so many of my firsts. You were my first love, my first kiss, my first boyfriend, and my first best friend. I’ve never been so excited for a day to come, as I was for this day to come.”
Nico looked up, fanning his face quickly. “Damn you, how am I supposed to follow that!” Everyone laughed again.
He unfolded a piece of paper in his pocket. “Will Solace, you are the most amazing person I’ve ever met. The first time I said that I loved you, it was all an accident, but now I know I’ve never been so happy to make a mistake. You have always just been there, and I’ve never had to ask. You can just read my mind. I’ve never been so happy and so nervous, so in love. You know my worst secrets and my best qualities, and everything in between. You have never not supported anything I’ve done. I couldn’t ask for someone better to call my husband.”
–
“Repeat after me. I, Will Solace…”
Will held the ring on Nico’s left ring finger. “I, Will Solace…”
“Take you, Nico di Angelo, for my lawful husband…”
“Take you, Nico di Angelo, for my lawful husband…”
“To have and to hold…”
“To have and to hold…”
“From this day forward…”

“In sickness and in health…”

“Until death do us part…”
“Until death do us part,” Will finished. Nico scoffed.
“If you think death can part us, you’re severely mistaken,” he said with a laugh.
“Now, repeat after me. I, Nico di Angelo…”
Nico held the ring on Will’s ring finger. “I, Nico di Angelo…”
“Take you, Will Solace, for my lawful husband…”

“You may now kiss the groom,” the officiator said with a smile. Will cupped Nico’s face and kissed him while everyone clapped. Nico wrapped his arms around Will’s neck and giggled. They had never been happier.
“You know, I was about to say ‘not even death can part us’ but I wasn’t sure if it would screw it up,” Nico said.
“Well, we wouldn’t want that,” Will answered. Nico smiled.
“Certainly not.”
