Evie woke up the next day and thanked herself for not drinking that much the night before. She had done a show with a hangover before but she was not willing repeat that. Still, she was still really tired of sleep due to the thoughts about what Kam had said. Kam was right about her feelings for Taylor but she couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that he also assumed that both of them had feelings for each other. But there were also reasons to explain Taylor’s actions the night before. They were had looked and smiled at each other on stage because that’s what friends do as well. But why had she looked after her? „Kam overreacts…”, Evie talked to herself when she got up from her bed to get herself ready. She had just talked to Taylor about their kissing-incident and had told her to forget about it and now really wanted to move on. She did not want to start questioning it, especially not when she still got bombarded with paparazzi pictures of Taylor and Travis at his football match which was already some time ago but still a huge topic in the media. Taylor still only said that she had casually hung out with him and that he was apparently a fun guy but he kept talking about him and brought her up again in his latest podcast episode where he called her “incredibly talented and incredibly beautiful.”. Evie was ashamed that she tuned into the episodes but something couldn’t stop. And she also knew that she would just ask a normal friend about what was going on in their dating life but she couldn’t bear to hear it from Taylor while she also couldn’t explain why Taylor kept it a secret when she wasn’t secretive at all with her close people.
Evie arrived at the stadium and got herself ready in the dressing room while Sarah, her keyboarder hung out on the couch. Her band had just arrived this morning and missed out on the Friendsgiving Event because they had to jump in to support another smaller artist at a TV performance. That’s why Evie had to keep her updated about what they had missed while being away. She told her about the food, the little gift bags they had received and about the fun with the karaoke machine. “Oh damn, I love karaoke!”, Sarah said disappointedly. “I know, I had to think about you. Jan forced Taylor and me to sing a duet form High School Musical.”. Speaking of Taylor; Evie and her band had only 10 minutes until their set and Taylor was nowhere to be seen. Evie loved their ritual and knew that Taylor wasn’t the type to forget about that. “Well I wouldn’t have loved to hear you guys sind it. Hey, I think I quickly need to get something to drink before it’s time. Do you come with me to the vending machine?”, Sarah suddenly asked her and jumped up from the couch. “No…I…I think I need to fix my hair, I don’t think I want to wear it in a ponytail anymore. I’ll meet you in a minute.”. Evie did not actually want to fix her hair. All she wanted was to not leave her dressing room just in case Taylor still decided to come. So the waited. And Taylor didn’t come. Evie wanted to tell herself that there had been some other important reason for it and that Taylor wasn’t even at the stadium yet. But she couldn’t as she had to walk past Taylor’s open dressing room on her way to the stage and found her bag on the table and her jacked in the wardrobe.
Evie knew that she couldn’t enjoy her set anymore because there was no way she was able to think about anything but the potential reasons for Taylor’s absence.
