It was the day after Evie’s and Taylor’s hotel dinner and Evie got ready in her dressing room. She was in a really good mood; She had made out with Taylor the day before and she was about to go on stage to do what she loved most. Life was good.
Evie finished her makeup and got on her phone to pass some time. „Wanna come over or should I come?”, her friend texted her from the band’s dressing room down the hallway. Evie loved hanging out with her band and she called herself lucky to be able to work with such talented people who she also called her friends. But today, she didn’t want to miss Taylor and she didn’t know how to behave around her when her bandmates were in the same room, especially not after what had happened the day before. How could she look at Taylor without wanting to kiss her on the spot? „Sorry, I am in a hurry and I haven’t finished my makeup yet.”, she texted back and felt a little bad. She was fully ready but that had to remain her secret. *Knock Knock*. Evie jumped up from her seat to open the door, hoping that it was Taylor who had just knocked. „Hii”, the blonde girl said who greeted her behind the closed door. „Hi Taylor, come in.”. Taylor was still in her sports which was Evie’s favourite look on her. She just looked effortlessly pretty and her black cap was the perfect final touch. Taylor with a cap on was apparently her soft spot, she realised when Taylor stood in front of her with a warm smile on her lips. „I love your look today!”, Taylor complimented Evie and looked at her from head to toe. She wore a short skirt and a black transparent long-sleeved shirt with a black bra underneath. In contrast to Taylor’s show outfits, she liked to keep hers less colourful. „Thanks but I like yours as well”, Evie complimented her back. „I’m just wearing leggings and and a sweater Evie…”, Taylor pointed out and chuckled. „I know but it’s kind of my favourite look on you. Effortlessly but still cute you know?…” Evie began to ramble. „…and really cuddly.”. „Uhh cuddly?”, Taylor said and her eyes lit up. She took a step further to Evie and laid her hands around her waist to pull her in even closer. „Yep.”, Evie only managed to say because she was too mesmerised by Taylor’s eye which were only a few inches away. She could loose herself in her eyes, she thought to herself. „Well, this is sadly not the best place to cuddle but just so know: I would love to cuddle right now.”, Taylor said with a lowered voice and while she kept staring at Evie. Her stare was really inviting, Evie thought to herself and didn’t know if she could kiss Taylor in that moment, while they could hear the business outside of the dressing room. „This is also probably not the best place to kiss but…”, Evie started to say and searched in Taylor’s eyes for an answer to her question if they should still do do it. Luckily, Taylor understood the assignment. „…we could still do it?”, she finished her sentence and Evie did not wait another second to pull Taylor in for a passionate kiss. It was still unbelievable for Evie to be able to share this with Taylor, her friend who had become so much more than that. And her friend, who liked her back in a way that she had never thought was possible. „I changed my mind: It’s a pretty good place to kiss if you ask me.”, Taylor joked when they separated from each other. „Then let’s see what other places we can find to do so…”, Evie suggested and enjoyed the cheeky tension between them.
A tension that was suddenly ruined by loud knocks on the door and Sarah who stormed into the room. „Evie you’re supposed to be on stage in like any minute!”, she almost yelled and Evie was relieved that Taylor and her were standing in front of each other with a safety distance. „Oh I’m sorry, were you talking about something important?”. „No!”, both Taylor and Evie said in unusual and both tried to put on a careless expression on their faces. „Then hurry up!”, Sarah demanded and Evie had no other option to give Taylor a fleeting apologising look and follow her friend Sarah to the stage. She had completely lost track of time with Taylor and underestimated the length of their kiss. „I’m sorry, you know I was still busy with my makeup and then Taylor came in and we were talking about music stuff and I forgot about the time…”, Evie tried to explain herself and felt a little embarrassed for her unprofessional behaviour. But they were already on the stares to enter the stage which left not time for more conversation that just a “hey, you’re her now.” from Sarah. With that being said, Evie stepped on stage and was greeted by an already crowded stadium full of excited Swifties. She could never get enough from these first few moments on stage and she never wanted this tour to stop. She knew that she was going to miss being on stage and she tried to distract herself from it as best as she could. The further they got into the tour, the more people were singing along to her song which filled her heart with so much gratitude and happiness that she could literally explode on stage. And she couldn’t believe her own eyes when she noticed that day that some people even brought little signs with messages for her. She tried to get closer to a girl in the rows further away from very back of the stage so read what the sign with her name on it said which was harder than expected as she had to sing and read at the same time while the crowd was dancing. Finally, she managed to have a closer look at it.
“I’ve been her since “Stay” <3″
A bright smile formed on Evie’s face. Stay was the very first song she had posted on You Tube two years ago when she had started to give music a more serious shot after she had only vlogged herself for fun. That was ages ago and no one had really known her back then and nobody had seemed to care. But that was apparently not the case. There actually had been some people who listened to her music back then and in the stadium that day, there were even more people to support her now. Evie pointed to the girl with the sign and mouthed a quick “thank you” between her lines. It was all she could do in the moment and she knew that no words could express the amount of gratitude she felt in that moment.
Two hours later, Evie sat in her hotel bed and was scrolling through TikTok. It was a bad habit that she couldn’t get rid of and didn’t even seem to try to anymore. Her for you page was obviously filled with videos from the Eras Tour. It was almost impossible to not be confronted with it as someone who wasn’t involved in it and there was literally no way to not be flooded with Eras Tour content as someone who was involved. Evie loved watching tour videos and she especially enjoyed the outfit-transition videos with all of the amazing and thoughtful outfits for each era. Evie was in her scrolling-tunnel when she saw a grainy video that showed a blonde girl sitting alone in one of the closed seating sections during her own set. “Is that Taylor watching her own support act before her own show?”, the description said and Evie knew fully well that the girl in this video was her. She chuckled. She felt a bit flattered that Taylor had been there to watch her and a big smile formed on her face as Evie scrolled through the comment section.
“How iconic”
“Does she think we don’t see her?”
“Glad she didn’t forget to get ready for her own set”
“I love their friendship”
“I love our friendship too.”, Evie said to herself and quickly took a screenshot of the video to send it to Taylor.
Evie: Enjoyed the show? 😉
Taylor: Very much! I was a bit sad to leave early because I had to get ready for my own…
Evie: Too bad 🙁
Taylor: And I guess that was the one and only time today because now everyone knows haha. And I don’t want them to search for me when they should admire you on stage!
Evie: It was a short era I guess
Taylor: Should I add it to the set list? The “watching your crush perform when you should get ready for your own show”-era. But it only consists of one song because it was so short
Evie: Haha just like the one song you sing from Speak Now which freaks everyone out?
Taylor: Oh don’t remind me of that. At least I wear an iconic dress for that one song.
Evie: Fair enough
