A Broken Mirror Reunited In An E-Sports Ch 41

A+ A-

Rong Yi paused for a moment, then didn’t react.

Xiao Yin spoke up, “Since you didn’t deny it, I’ll take it as you don’t mind.”

He seemed to have gradually figured out some of Rong Yi’s small quirks. He became quiet and reserved, no longer lively and proactive, but he would speak up only when he wanted to refuse.

Rong Yi smoothly stopped dwelling on how to respond and sent a small white goose flapping its wings as an emoji, indicating that he had received the message.

After sending the message, Rong Yi washed up and lay back in bed. It was only then that he received a message from Lin Yi.

“Did he take pictures of you? That’s great! I heard that Xiao Yin is also famous for his photography skills.”

Rong Yi lay in bed, tapping the screen of his phone. “You know about that too?”

“Of course! As a commentator, I have to know all the gossip and interesting stories about every player.” Lin Yi said. “Yin’s fans search for materials every day, didn’t you used to browse it too?”

Rong Yi remembered, “I only went to look at the handsome ones, and occasionally his photos. I didn’t pay attention to anything else.”

But he did remember that Xiao Yin had a hobby in photography.

“Check it out later, I remember there was a lot of discussion about it.” Lin Yi said. “Your guy is a jack of all trades, a great photographer. If you can get free photography from him, why not take it?”

Rong Yi laughed.

Lin Yi sent him a few fan page links and then said goodnight.

Rong Yi turned off the light and clicked on the links.

Xiao Yin was a public figure, and fans of the  e-sports circle had a moderate interest in the private lives of their favorite players.

About two years ago, someone dug up a landscape photographer with the same name as Yin at an international photography exhibition, and after some discussion, it was realized that he was indeed the same person as the gamer Yin.

[Yin! He was my senior in high school, we both had straight A+’s, and he was an honor member of the college’s photography department. He’s famous and talented.]

[But there’s one thing, he never takes pictures of people, and he never uses people as models.]

[I found some of his works on the school’s art exhibition website! Let me show you!]

The thread was full of fan’s astonishment and admiration.

Rong Yi clicked on the links and looked at them.

Xiao Yin’s photography style, as seen from the few photos he had hung up in the club room, was strong in composition and atmosphere, with a tone leaning towards cool colors and gloominess. There was a fascinating charm to his style, and it was indeed very powerful.

[Yin’s photography was very famous in the circle in his early years, but he suddenly disappeared in the following years. Fans and friends in the circle were still looking for him, only to find out later that he had gone to play e-sports.]

[It’s funny, who would have thought that someone who everyone expected to become a photographer would end up playing e-sports.]

Rong Yi quietly scrolled through the thread and saved many pictures. After flipping through the pages, his phone was filled with these landscape paintings.

Xiao Yin was in charge of the photography, and Rong Yi could now rest assured.

VIT’s training schedule was very tight, and both Rong Yi and Xiao Yin were individuals who would rather use their vacation time than disrupt their usual training routine. They could only find time to shoot the film by stealing a bit of free time.

On Friday night, Xiao Yin confirmed the shooting schedule with Rong Yi: “Can we start shooting tomorrow?”

Rong Yi nodded in agreement.

Although he was prepared for it, he still felt a slight nervousness upon hearing the word “shooting.” His fingertips tightened and then relaxed involuntarily.

Xiao Yin seemed to sense something and asked him, “Are you free now?”

“I am,” Rong Yi replied, looking at Xiao Yin. “What’s up?”

The club was on a break tomorrow, and the other three were planning to go to a famous scenic spot in the suburbs to enjoy themselves. Some children were still playing and making noise in the lobby.

Rong Yi and Xiao Yin stood at the staircase. Xiao Yin reached out his hand, turned it over lightly, and placed it steadily in front of him, with the back of his hand facing up.

Without speaking, Rong Yi hesitated for a moment before tentatively reaching out his hand.

Before his fingertips could touch Xiao Yin’s hand, Xiao Yin’s fingertips closed, gently holding his hand and then letting it go, leading him up the stairs.

Their fingers intertwined, not too loose or too tight.

Xiao Yin was much taller than him, and his steps were slightly larger when going upstairs. Rong Yi had to exert a bit of effort to keep up while holding hands.

It was okay if he didn’t keep up, but his fingertips would fall loosely.

Rong Yi didn’t know why, but he was compelled to keep up, and Xiao Yin constantly held his fingertips.

It wasn’t until they reached Xiao Yin’s room upstairs that Xiao Yin turned his head and glanced at him with his beautiful and deep phoenix eyes, and Rong Yi realized what he had done.

He seemed to have been too compliant.

Xiao Yin turned on the lights in the room and led him to the inner room before gently letting go of his hand.

Rong Yi saw that Xiao Yin didn’t immediately do anything after letting go, but instead looked down at his own fingertips and lightly clenched them.

It was like he was still feeling the warmth of Rong Yi’s fingertips.

“The photographic equipment we’ll be using tomorrow, I want you to personally choose one. Don’t worry, they’re all film-level devices. I want you to select the one that looks most satisfying to you, so that maybe tomorrow you won’t be so nervous. Is that okay?” Xiao Yin looked at his expression and said softly, “If you don’t want to, we can stop anytime.”

Rong Yi swallowed his saliva. “Okay, it’s fine. Don’t worry, I’m not that fragile.”

But in fact, when Xiao Yin pulled out his equipment from the equipment room, Rong Yi was still a little nervous.

He looked at the entire display cabinet covered with a dust cloth, and dozens of black holes appeared in his mind – silent  cameras staring at him, the ubiquitous feeling of being watched as if it would devour him.

However, when Xiao Yan pulled off the dust cloth, Rong Yi breathed a sigh of relief.

All the cameras and lenses were separated and placed with the lenses facing inwards. All lenses were packaged in dust covers, only the backs of the cameras facing them.

Rong Yi saw the whole set of equipment, and his first reaction was to calculate how much money Xiao Yin would lose if the cabinet fell over.

Perhaps tens of millions.

If he shook his hand later, he would lose everything in his lifetime. Otherwise, who said photography was a poor profession for three generations?

Rong Yi saw a bunch of  camera backs and smiled, feeling much more relaxed.

He put his hands in his pajama pockets and looked serious.

The lenses, forced to face the wall, were of all shapes and sizes and looked intimidating. Rong Yi’s only thought was how expensive they were.

He asked Xiao Yin, “Can I touch them?”

Xiao Yan replied casually, “It’s okay even if you drop them.”

Rong Yi smiled and suddenly remembered the joke that Ci She made a few days ago.

That day, what was in Xiao Yin’s display cabinet that Ci She was gossiping about? A group of kids guessed a hundred keyboards from the victim’s body, and finally Wu Dao Gu said it was photography equipment.

Ci She asked, “Can I touch them? Is there any consequence?”

Wu Dao Gu replied, “You’ll die.”

Rong Yi thought of this and couldn’t help but laugh. He noticed that Xiao Yin was looking at him, so he averted his gaze and focused on selecting.

A silver-gray camera caught his attention. It didn’t look like a conventional design and resembled a large trumpet, taller than the other cameras.

The silver-gray color was very beautiful and clear, standing out among the black devices.

Rong Yi reached out and carefully took it down.

It was surprisingly heavy.

Rong Yi caught it with both hands and held it carefully. When he held it, it didn’t seem so scary anymore.

He paused and turned it over to look at the lens on the back.

It did look more like a trumpet, and although his breath caught at the sight of the lens, it was much better than before.

Rong Yi said, “Is this one okay? I don’t understand it, but I think it’s pretty.”

“It’s fine,” Xiao Yin said, “It’s a custom-made movie-grade camera. I had the color ordered by someone. You have good taste.”

Rong Yi smiled and carefully put it back in place. Suddenly, he felt that tomorrow’s filming task wasn’t so nerve-wracking.

He said, “Okay, that’s it. Thank you for your hard work tomorrow.”

Xiao Yin nodded.

Rong Yi turned around and headed back to his room, feeling that Xiao Yin was watching his back, as if he had something to say.

“Going back to sleep?” he heard the three words.

The words were plain and emotionless, yet they carried a subtle sense of oppression that was hard to define.

At that moment, Rong Yi felt like he had no choice but to go back to sleep.

“Tomorrow, everyone will be out of the villa, and there will be no one else around,” Xiao Yin said.

At least Rong Yi wouldn’t have to sleep in the same room as Xiao Yin!

“Okay, I understand. That’s good. I can rest well,” said Rong Yi, trying to suppress a cough.

He quickly hurried back to his room.

As a result of the encounter, Rong Yi dreamt of Xiao Yin all night long.

Mostly, he dreamt of the past when he was kneeling on the bed, and Xiao Yin was holding his face in his hands, whispering, “Are you going back to sleep, or are you coming to my room?”

The lines of his muscles and the light sweat on his skin were vividly present, burning with a fragrant heat.

Rong Yi woke up at eight o’clock in the morning and washed up before heading downstairs for breakfast. He found that Xiao Yin had already woken up early.

For this shoot, they used the facilities provided by the advertising team, with all the lighting and props organized and ready. All the samples sent by the brand were unpacked and arranged. A dedicated staff member even gave Rong Yi a hand treatment.

After all the preparations were done, the staff left, leaving only Rong Yi and Xiao Yin in the room.

Xiao Yin was adjusting the  camera he had chosen the day before and taking some test shots.

Hand modeling generally doesn’t show the face, but it usually reveals some chin, ear, or collarbone area.

Rong Yi was nervous at first, but after Xiao Yin took a few shots of him, he gradually relaxed.

Xiao Yin had a unique angle when taking photos of him. He didn’t shoot from a flat position and rarely looked at the viewfinder. So most of the time, Rong Yi could see Xiao Yin’s face behind the camera.

The first two sets were taken quickly, and the sample photos were stunning.

Rong Yi’s hands were already beautiful, but when Xiao Yin took the shots, they also had an indescribable artistic sense.

In the third set, with a theme of restraint, Rong Yi wore the silver bone bracelet sent by the brand and took a few shots. Xiao Yin said, “Come closer.”

The closer, the better.

Rong Yi knew this was a common saying in the photography circle, so he followed Xiao Yin’s instructions. After he put down the bracelet, he used another prop, a dark red broken gold tie with a masculine style, wrapping it around his wrist and fingertips, and spreading it slightly in front of the camera.

Fair-skinned joints with a reddish hue at the joints, as if the fingers were weak and trapped like a white dove, and the precious and tender color of crushed gold, as if it could be crushed at any moment, create a sense of fragility and confinement. Dark red and shattered gold are also the theme colors of this shoot, combined with the whiteness of his fingers.

Xiao Yin was standing too close, so Rong Yi slightly lowered his eyes, focusing on the camera’s viewfinder, unable to see his expression, only feeling his breath brushing against the tips of his fingers. It was hot and itchy, and the scent of peppermint was refreshing, but with a touch of aggression, making Rong Yi feel a sense of danger.

Rong Yi knew Xiao Yin’s preferences very well; he liked hands, feet, waist, and the overwhelming sense of control that came with overpowering strength. There was nowhere on his body that he didn’t like.

After a long time, Rong Yi finally spoke softly, breaking the ambiguous silence. “Are you… done?”

Xiao Yin put away his camera. “Yes, I’m done. I’ll send the samples for them to review later.”

“Okay,” Rong Yi replied.

He stood up, and Xiao Yin followed suit, standing behind him, but his steps were slightly faster.

Rong Yi walked to the door and was about to reach out to grab the handle when a hand reached out from behind and gently covered his.

Rong Yi didn’t move.

Xiao Yin took hold of Rong Yi’s fingers and slowly slid his hand down, from the handle of the door to the lock below. A few seconds felt like a century.

Xiao Yin turned his hand, and the lock clicked shut.

The room door was locked.

Xiao Yin leaned against him from behind and whispered, “You can also choose to open it yourself. The choice is yours.”

Rong Yi’s ears were burning from his breath. Remembering the dream from yesterday, Rong Yi also felt that there was nothing to be ashamed of. He needed it, and Xiao Yin needed it too. As contract lovers, they were a match made in heaven.

He withdrew his hand, turned around, smiled calmly, and said, “We’re both adults; there’s nothing to choose or not to choose. Let’s go.”
