A Broken Mirror Reunited In An E-Sports Ch 65

A+ A-

Rong Yi wasn’t too sure how to handle the follow-up situation. He was covered by Xiao Yin’s coat the entire time, waiting in the backseat, but Xiao Yin didn’t make him wait for long.

Xiao Yin stayed near the back door of the car throughout the journey, making phone calls to discuss matters.

The back door was left slightly ajar, letting Rong Yi know that Xiao Yin was always nearby, not too far away, which gave him a sense of reassurance.

Rong Yi actually didn’t want to call the police. Firstly, he didn’t want to make the situation too big, and secondly, he didn’t want to make a statement that might delay the schedule and cause public relations issues.

After communicating with him, Xiao Yin respected his thoughts.

He quickly handled the current situation. After the staff cleared the scene, he called the driver and headed straight back to the VIT club.

On the way home, Rong Yi still hid in Xiao Yin’s coat, feeling only the gentle embrace of Xiao Yin’s shoulder, holding him in his arms.

The scent of mint diffused, and Xiao Yin lightly patted the back of his neck as if comforting a child.

Rong Yi’s state of mind wasn’t actually that bad. He calmed down as soon as he got into the car.

But he didn’t say anything. Fear was something that drained energy, so he leaned gently against Xiao Yin, letting his fingertips be held by him, nestling motionless in his embrace.

Like a bird finding its nest.

When they were close to home, Rong Yi finally moved and whispered, “What about the interview?”

Xiao Yin had come directly after the red carpet photoshoot, even before the event ended, and he came so quickly.

“Don’t worry,” Xiao Yin’s voice was tense, conveying calmness and seriousness.

“You don’t have to think about anything. I will handle everything.” He sounded a bit stern.

When he said those words, Rong Yi believed him.

Xiao Yin was that kind of person. There were never any worries when he was around. When he said not to worry, it was a sense of certainty and conviction, not just comforting words.

The driver parked the car, and Xiao Yin got out, holding Rong Yi’s hand and leading him out.

The villa was pitch black, and Rong Yi gently lifted a part of Xiao Yin’s clothes, placing it over his head as he followed him.

Xiao Yin held onto his wrist the entire time.

Rong Yi obediently followed, earnestly trailing behind him.

Once inside the room, Xiao Yin closed the door and reached out to adjust the motorized curtains, making sure all the windows were properly covered.

He reached up to touch Rong Yi’s head and asked softly, “Is it okay? There are no surveillance cameras in our villa.”

It wasn’t actually that exaggerated.

Rong Yi looked up at him. He had originally wanted to say it was fine, but when he met Xiao Yin’s calm and serious gaze, a slight sense of inexplicable grievance seemed to well up within him.

It was very subtle, something he had rarely experienced since he started his professional e-sports career, where he fought alone.

He didn’t speak, just nodded slightly, “Mm.”

Xiao Yin sat down with him on the shoe-changing chair near the entrance, then took off his coat.

Rong Yi had been hiding inside, and his nervous reaction had caused his hair to become damp, and his messy black bangs were disheveled.

Xiao Yin crouched down, then half-knelt on the floor to remove his shoes.

At this point, Rong Yi gently stopped him with his hand, saying softly, “It’s okay.”

His voice was hoarse and very soft, and Xiao Yin also said, “It’s okay.”

He untied Rong Yi’s shoelaces and placed the shoes neatly aside.

Rong Yi’s feet lightly touched the wooden floor, but before he could stand up, Xiao Yin lifted him up and carried him upstairs.

Rong Yi stopped struggling.

Xiao Yin was determined to carry him upstairs, and Rong Yi obediently nuzzled his face near Xiao Yin’s neck.

Xiao Yin carried him directly into the bathroom and turned on the heater.

“I’ll take a hot bath to relax,” Xiao Yin said as he ran the water to test the temperature, showing no intention of leaving. “I’ll call Auntie and ask her to come over for a late-night snack.”

Since they had a match today and didn’t eat at the villa, Auntie had gone to rest early.

However, despite it not being a holiday, Auntie lived nearby, as they all resided together in the VIT staff dormitory. A simple phone call would bring her over.

Rong Yi whispered, “No need, I’m not that…”

Xiao Yin suddenly smiled at him. “I’ll cook for you.”

His voice was soft, and he placed Rong Yi on the bench in the bathroom, never leaving his side.

The bathtub was filled with hot water. Xiao Yin separated Rong Yi’s legs and stood between them, leaning close to undress him.

His voice was incredibly soothing, as if coaxing a child.

Soft and gentle, with a magnetic low tone that was irresistible.

Rong Yi whispered, “Can you cook?”

He didn’t really want to ask. It was just that Xiao Yin’s way of speaking brought out a rare desire in him to be pampered.

“I couldn’t before. I didn’t know how until I was with you.”

Xiao Yin unbuttoned Rong Yi’s shirt, set it aside once it was off, and continued undressing him.

The act was pure and devoid of any emotions, but Rong Yi could sense that Xiao Yin was much more affected than himself.

Once completely undressed, Rong Yi was lifted and placed into the bathtub.

Water splashed, dampening Xiao Yin’s pants and sleeves slightly, but he didn’t mind. He even squeezed shower gel onto his hand and applied it to Rong Yi’s head, washing his hair.

Rong Yi huddled in one corner of the bathtub, initially unable to relax due to nervousness and embarrassment.

At his age, he had never had anyone bathe him before.

“How old do you think I am?” he softly asked.

There was no intimidation in his voice.

“We’re the same age, Captain Rong.” Xiao Yin rubbed his hands together on top of Rong Yi’s head, creating a rich lather. The air was filled with the refreshing scent of oranges and grapefruits. “I’ll bathe you until you’re a hundred years old.”

Rong Yi blushed, his ears turning red. Amidst the steamy heat, his overall expression remained calm.

Xiao Yin treated him with the care one would give to fragile objects. Since Xiao Yin carried him upstairs, all of his earlier unhappiness had completely faded away.

He was a simple person. Once something was in the past, it was in the past. He wouldn’t dwell on it.

“Has anyone ever bathed you before?” Xiao Yin asked softly.

Rong Yi’s ears turned even redder.

“No. Not even my mom.”

“Then I’ll be the first,” Xiao Yin mused.

As he rinsed Rong Yi’s back with a gentle stream of water, this man seemed like an AI, firm when necessary and completely calm when his mind was elsewhere.

When the water reached the top of his head, Xiao Yin whispered, “Close your eyes.”

Rong Yi tilted his face up and closed his eyes.

The warm water flowed over his cheeks, and Rong Yi kept his eyes shut, waiting for the water to recede. When he felt a slight warmth on his lips, Xiao Yin leaned in and gave him a brief kiss, his tongue briefly touching before pulling back, providing comfort.

Rong Yi still kept his eyes closed. After Xiao Yin’s lips left his, he whispered softly, “I’ve had this illness since the second year of junior high.”

The water continued to rush, filling the bathroom with steam.

Xiao Yin murmured, “Hmm.”

With great care and without any sense of coercion, he let Rong Yi know that he could stop at any time.

“When I was in eighth grade, my parents got divorced, and I went to live with my mom at the place of the man she remarried,” Rong Yi said.

He still had his eyes closed, and his wet lashes glistened like black butterflies in the mist.

“I’m not… particularly good-looking,” he continued. “But I have a somewhat delicate appearance. In school, there weren’t many girls who pursued me, but there were more boys than girls.”

“And some older men would take an interest in me too. They said I fit their taste.”

Xiao Yin furrowed his brows.

“But that’s not the point. The point is that man’s younger brother, who is a confirmed bachelor.”

“One time at their gathering, he saw me. And then for an entire year, he followed and secretly filmed me.”

Rong Yi’s voice remained remarkably calm. “At that time, I was young, and the first person I told was my mom.”

“After listening, her first reaction was disbelief. Her second reaction was to threaten me not to speak of it.”

“Because she wanted to continue staying in that household. That man had money, and she married him, walking on thin ice. She said I was causing trouble for her and asked if I could spare her some worries.”

“Later…”

Rong Yi paused for a moment.

Xiao Yin’s actions also paused, and he looked at him with concern, his brows creased. “What happened later?”

“Later, I called the police. I made a big fuss about the matter, causing my mom to lose face.”

Rong Yi suddenly opened his eyes, a hint of a smile in them. “She kicked me out and told me to go find my uncle in another city.”

“I took the money and didn’t go find my uncle. Instead, I spent two days playing games in an internet cafe.”

“I’m good at gaming, and on that day, I saw a job advertisement. I bought a standing ticket and took the earliest cargo train to City A. To RS.”

“At that time, there weren’t any youth training or competition teams. We were among the first few batches.”

Rong Yi said, “That’s how it happened.”

“Did they deal with that person?” Xiao Yin asked in a low voice.

“He denied it adamantly, but there was a good policewoman who found a large number of recording devices at his place, not just mine, but also those of other boys the same age.”

“He was later detained. For me, it was a satisfactory resolution.”

“The only unsatisfactory part, perhaps, is the lingering aftermath it left me with.”

Rong Yi obediently leaned his head against Xiao Yin’s palm, letting him rinse his hair. He hugged his knees, as if telling someone else’s story. “For a while, I dreamt that someone was holding a camera, filming me wherever I went. That camera was always in front of me.”

Xiao Yin put down the showerhead and pulled him into his embrace.

Xiao Yin’s shirt was completely soaked, but no one cared.

Rong Yi quietly nestled in his arms.

In moments like this, it was he who remained tougher and more composed than Rong Yi.

Rong Yi glanced at him sideways and then reached out, gently patting his back.

“It’s really okay now. It’s all in the past. Don’t worry about me.”
