A Broken Mirror Reunited In An E-Sports Ch 66

A+ A-

Rong Yi actually felt that the scene was a bit strange.

Xiao Yin was sadder than him.

Rong Yi nestled in his arms, his arms with water droplets tightly wrapped around him, constantly whispering, “It’s really okay.”

Xiao Yin held him silently, and after a while, he let go and lowered his head to change the subject, saying, “The water is getting cold. Do you want to soak a bit longer?”

Rong Yi shook his head.

He wasn’t really in a bad condition to begin with. With Xiao Yin comforting him like this, of course, there was nothing wrong at all.

Xiao Yin’s clothes were soaked and starting to cool down. Rong Yi touched his slightly cold wet sleeves and said softly, “I’m done washing. You should go change your clothes.”

“Mm.”

Xiao Yin took off his wet clothes, covering his upper body, and first draped a large towel over him. He pulled Rong Yi up and carefully dried him himself.

Xiao Yin’s expression remained solemn. He held him naked in his arms and wiped him clean.

Rong Yi practically hung onto him, his slippery waist firmly held by him, enveloped by his entire being.

Visibly, Xiao Yin was sadder than him. His slightly cold eyelashes drooped, jet-black and full of spirit, but the deeper emotions were hard to discern.

But Rong Yi, at this inopportune moment, blushed.

It seemed to disrupt the atmosphere a bit.

But even if his mind went blank for a moment, his body followed suit.

Xiao Yin paused his hand while wiping him halfway and then looked at him.

Rong Yi clung to his shoulders, burying his head in his neck and remaining silent.

It was too embarrassing.

Someone was talking to you seriously, worrying about you.

And yet, you blushed on your own.

Xiao Yin asked softly, “Ah Yi?”

Rong Yi was already overwhelmed with embarrassment, completely burying himself in Xiao Yin’s shoulder and refusing to lift his head.

Having been part of the Alliance for so many years, Rong Yi overturned in the gutter today, not just once but twice, all under Xiao Yin’s watchful eyes.

Xiao Yin didn’t tease him either. He whispered, “I understand. I’ll come back after we finish eating.”

“You don’t have to come.”

Rong Yi picked him up and walked out while he was still being stubborn. “I sleep well on my own, really. You go and take care of your own things.”

Xiao Yin laid him down completely on the bed.

Rong Yi lay on the bed, pulling the blanket over his head.

Xiao Yin didn’t bother him, just leaned down beside his ear and spoke calmly and steadily, “Feeling much better.”

Rong Yi was eager to save face, his voice calm as he insisted, “Not yet.”

“Not yet. Then I’ll cook noodles for you. Wait for me.” Xiao Yin smoothly took over the conversation.

Seeing Rong Yi’s silence, Xiao Yin lowered his head again and asked him again.

“I’ll cook noodles for you? There are no vegetables left in the fridge.”

“No need, it’s fine,” Rong Yi said, his voice muffled in the blanket.

He was practically dying of embarrassment.

Just let it be.

Reacting to Rong Yi’s response, Xiao Yin’s expression flickered for a moment, his eyes narrowing slightly, a hint of a smile appearing.

There was a vague sense of familiarity.

Five years ago, Rong Yi was still a clingy teenager, often behaving like this. When he got shy, he would hide under the covers and couldn’t be coaxed out.

Sometimes he seemed bold, but in reality, he was only fierce with his mouth while actually being conservative and timid inside. This contrast was also quite adorable.

After five years of separation, he could hardly recognize him. The lively and energetic young team leader had now become calm and composed. It was only at this moment that he saw the completely defenseless Rong Yi, someone who wholeheartedly trusted him.

Steadiness, resilience, and determination are his true qualities.

His current act of being spoiled, shy, and vulnerable is also the real him. It’s something only he can see, not displayed to outsiders.

Xiao Yin left a thin layer of dignity for Rong Yi, lightly touching his head through the blanket, then went downstairs.

Rong Yi felt embarrassed for a while under the covers but soon regained his senses. He got up first and checked his phone to see how things were going. With so many people at the scene, it should be a big deal.

But strangely, the group chat and social media were quiet. Only Ci She sent a message mentioning everyone, saying they couldn’t find Xiao Yin and Rong Yi, but they would be back later because they wanted to eat spicy hot pot outside.

It seemed like they were still unaware of the situation.

There weren’t many people discussing it on social media; at least Rong Yi couldn’t find any. The work group and public relations department were also silent.

Rong Yi thought for a moment, got up, and put on a piece of clothing before heading downstairs.

Xiao Yin was cooking noodles in the kitchen. The semi-open kitchen had ample space. Xiao Yin had his back to Rong Yi, his upper body bare, and his wet shirt casually hung by the dining table.

“Why didn’t you change clothes?” Rong Yi found a chair and sat down.

Only then did Xiao Yin realize that he had come downstairs. He casually replied, “I thought I’d wash the dishes and take a shower before changing.”

Xiao Yin put the noodles in the pot, added the seasoning and ingredients, then turned around and paused for a moment when he saw Rong Yi.

Rong Yi was wearing his shirt and ran downstairs. He had nothing on his long, bare legs. He sat on the chair, swinging his feet. Of course, he knew what he was wearing. It was the boyfriend brand oversized shirt, a weapon to conquer men. Its effect doubled when worn after waking up or taking a bath. He was already 22 years old and no longer the innocent kid he used to be. He had to regain some ground.

Xiao Yin acted as if he hadn’t seen anything, his gaze only lingering for a brief moment before he said, “…Why did you come down?”

He turned back to frying the eggs.

“I wanted to ask you how things were resolved.” Rong Yi wasn’t solely trying to regain ground. He leaned on the table with his phone. “I haven’t seen any updates on how it’s being handled. The plaza hasn’t mentioned anything. What’s going on?”

“I arranged an impromptu interactive program for the Alliance. The overall schedule is delayed by an hour and a half.” Xiao Yin skillfully picked up the perfectly fried egg, his voice indifferent. “We have staff contacting everyone present, asking them to help preserve the photos they took as evidence. Until the matter is resolved, we’ve requested them not to spread anything to avoid stirring up controversy.”

“The attendees are fans and viewers, very understanding. They signed the agreement and handed over the pictures to our staff.”

“Currently, the public relations department is working with some news outlets to release a brief statement, aiming to minimize any waves. It’s also to prevent any further impact or harm to you.”

“The press pass of that journalist is confiscated for now. The opposing media is also contacting us, but we still need to negotiate. They might fire that person and then discuss a settlement with us. What do you think?”

After Xiao Yin finished this long explanation, Rong Yi followed the train of thought. Before he could express his thoughts, Xiao Yin added, in a calm and concise manner, “They offered one million, but I think we don’t need that money.”

Rong Yi wanted to lighten the mood with his response, “Actually…”

One million!

He needed that money!

But the thought quickly passed through his mind.

Xiao Yin was clearly genuinely angry today. Although he had his usual expressionless face and flat tone, Rong Yi knew he was truly angry.

“I haven’t liked that media outlet for a long time.”

“I have some departments that can take action. You don’t have to worry. At least for a long time, they won’t have the ability to cause trouble anymore.”

After saying this, Xiao Yin’s voice softened slightly as he turned to look at Rong Yi.

“I’m also looking into what happened in your junior high school days.”

Rong Yi was momentarily stunned. “It’s already over.”

“I want to investigate it thoroughly. One, to find out what happened to that person afterward, and two, because I think wherever you are in the future, he will never appear. He will run far away and never dare to do such things again in his lifetime.” Xiao Yin said.
