A Western Doctor’s Happy Farming Life[1] 187

A+ A-

Noticing that Song Qinghan finally came to know everything, the mixed-race man continued to explain, “His name is Muhammad, one of the orphans belonging to the Langya Tribe, and he intends to utilize those triplets to control the Yueya Tribe, and then step by step, he wants to conquer.”

The information confessed by the mixed-race man was indeed the ones Song Qinghan was eager to figure out, as well as the ones those triplets wanted Song Qinghan to ask so. It was completely out of his surprise that the mixed-race man would say it without further asking.

Song Qinghan nodded and suddenly recalled the picture of Muhammad’s expression when he left, and then he subconsciously asked, “He didn’t seem that good, what for?”

The mixed-race man chuckled slightly and then shook his head, “Probably it was because that I told him I should tell him about the triplets’ whereabouts after a meticulous consideration, and that’s what had incurred his impatience. But I am afraid that probably he had speculated that those triplets are currently living here even though I had already tried my best to mislead his thought.”

This was not an answer that beyond Song Qinghan’s expectation that much, so he didn’t say anything but came to comfort the mixed-race man, telling him that he would handle everything well.

Well, if this Muhammad guy was really doubtful to everything, he would definitely resort to any possible tactics to test them out. At that time what they needed to do was to ‘Fight Fire with Water’.

The only concern now was that everything needed to be done urgently. If he failed to conceived of a way to dispose the triplets, he would go to the front line very soon with Wu Dahu.

After coming out from the mixed-race man’s room, Song Qinghan sighed and then walked into the other one where the triplets stayed.

The triplets didn’t seemed to be quite surprised toward Song Qinghan’s arrival as if they had already known that Muhammad visited here again. They remained their immutable silence, probably they knew that once they spoke, their minds and attitudes would be worse again.

After Song Qinghan told them the news that they wanted to know, he was interrupted all of a sudden at the moment he was about to inquire of their opinion over it, “Muhammad from the Langya Tribe? How come he is still alive?” one of the triplets asked, surprised.

Oh, so they were old acquaintances? Song Qinghan thought so and then raised his eyebrows, “What now? Is he your old friend?”

The triplets exchanged their glances, and shook their heads at the same time, and then one among them took the initiative to explain, “Not that kind of friend, but he is just famous.”

Song Qinghan could catch some hidden information from the triplet’s tone, so he uttered thoughtfully, “So, I suppose it is a good news?”

Beyond his expectation, the one who spoke laughed suddenly, “Well, if Muhammad is able to murder the family of the Huya Tribe, the one which exterminated his beloved tribe, that should be one of the good news.”

Song Qinghan nodded and murmured secretly in his own mind. Ha? Was it a custom or something to name their tribe with the word ‘ya’ within the minority territory? Yueya, Langya and Huya, what would be the next?

Noticing that Song Qinghan was being silent, the triplet probably didn’t want Song Qinghan to misunderstand what he meant, so he continued to explain, “I heard that he is kind of a short-tempered guy but able to distinguish good from bad. No one dares to offend him at all. Well, since he is now searching for us. I think he will ruin us if he can’t obtain us.”

“Oh, so what’s your plan now? Are you willing to pay allegiance to him?”

Song Qinghan stared at the triplets out of curiosity, waiting for their answer quietly.

The three of them didn’t give a response immediately. They exchanged their glances once again, as if to ‘negotiate in silence’. At the end of that, they faced to Song Qinghan again, “We can give it a try, but we hope that you will not tell him about our exact location, Doctor Song. If he is able to figure out himself, we will go with him.” one of the triplets uttered.

In facing such an unreasonable approach of theirs, Song Qinghan didn’t bother to talk too much over it. After all, he was not going to be impacted by that.

BUT… Thinking of his own concerns, he asked in hesitation, “He has no clue at all, how is he supposed to find your trace? What if he fails to make any progress finding you guys before I leave, at that time it will be hard for me to lend a hand even if I would love to do so, after all, you won’t stay in this tiny room for the rest of your life…”

The triplets seemed to have already made up their minds, the one who spoke came to utter again without hesitation even though Song QInghan said so, “If at that time he still fails to find us, that will be proved that we will get nothing to do with him, and we will never drag you in behind, Doctor Song, we will conceive of other ways ourselves.”

Noticing that the triplets had already made up their minds, Song Qinghan said nothing but nodded and then left the room and came back to his own room. He was quite tired now since he had to handle these trifles, he laid in bed on his back trying to take a good nap.

A hasty noise knocking on the gate door sounded before he drifted off to sleep.

Following the sound came the footsteps of Hualian. But after a long while Song Qinghan didn’t hear Hualian coming back. With nerve strained, he got off the bed quickly, got on his cloth and the walked out the room.

Seeing that Hualian was right now arguing with someone outside the gate, Song Qinghan frowned and approached, “What’s wrong?”

A trace of guilt flashed across the Hualian’s face. No one knew whether he was guilty over the fact that he awoke Song Qinghan by his arguing noise, he whispered lowly, “Mistress, this guy is talking nonsense here, and keep saying that this house belongs to his nephew, while he is stubborn and trying to intrude in. I’m reasoning things out with him.”

Song Qinghan took a quick glance at the man who stood besides Hualian. It was a man who got a slight stoop back while carrying two packs of package on his both sides of shoulders. Song Qinghan smiled and said, “Is this how you reason things out with people?”

“Uncle, do you mind me asking who told you that your nephew is in here?”

The old man didn’t expect Song Qinghan to ask this directly. He waved his hand impatiently, “Mind your own business! I am not that old and stupid making mistake to recognize my nephew’s house. Let me in! I want to greet my nephew!”

Song Qinghan stood quietly in front of the door remaining his calmness, and then responded without any expressional changes, “It’s fine if you don’t know who tell you that, but at least you know what your nephew’s name is.”

If it was someone else, such as Hualian who was now standing quietly aside. Probably he would keep persuading the old man that this was a wrong destination, or the original house owner had already relocated. But Song Qinghan adopted the way which was totally on its contrast and asked so many questions which was seemingly unrelated to the topic.

The old man glared at Song Qinghan and stood akimbo, “Do you really think that I am mentally ill forgetting my nephew’s name? He is Zhang Qing! ”

Song Qinghan raised an eyebrow and said, “Oh, Zhang Qing! He told me that Yueban City is a place prone to be ruined, and he had already set off southward now. If you set off at this moment, you might have the luck to meet him midway.”

Hualian was utterly shocked when he heard so, let alone the old man. He glanced at Song Qinghan in astonishment, as if to figure out when he acquaint with a guy who named Zhang Qing.

The old man seemed to be quite wrathful as both of his hands were trembling slightly, and then pointed at Song Qinghan, roaring, “You, don’t ever lie to me! This house belongs to Zhang Qing, have you done something to him out of evilness? I… I am going to take revenge for him!”

Noticing that the old man was pouncing on fiercely, Song Qinghan dodged agilely and perfectly, and then got the door shut completely crooking his feet. And then he spoke in calmness to the old man who was totally blocked outside, “What’s the advantage to lie to you? You’re just an old man without anything worth to be taken. I am indeed a friend of Zhang Qing’s, otherwise how can I acquire the house from him? For your nephew’s sake, I can order a carriage for you and you can keep going southward.”

“Alas, and I will give you one hundred silver coins for your trip. At least I won’t be blamed by your nephew at that time.”

Song Qinghan said so rather calmly, as if the so-called Zhang Qing guy was indeed his good friend.

The old man paused, with his pupils shaking quickly as if he was conceiving of a countermeasure.

If he really intended to find someone here, he would definitely stop bothering Song Qinghan if he heard so. So the next moment the old man got his expression relaxed all of a sudden, instead of being furious, he delivered a smile, “Oh, so you’re really a friend of Zhang Qing. Forget it, I will go find a carriage myself, and sorry to trouble you guys.”

After that, he turned around and intended to leave the house. But he only walked a few steps and then paused as if he was weighed by something rather heavy on his back. Massaging his own back, he murmured himself, “Well, it seems that I don’t have a fate to enjoy a short period of peacefulness. Alas, keep going!”

The picture of an old man carrying two packages on shoulder was in fact quite sympathy-incurring. Probably the other who saw that would lend a hand and help him out. But Song Qinghan just opened the door and motioned Hualian to come in only, as if he didn’t even see that ‘picture’. After that, he turned to the old man and said, “Good trip, sir. Hope you are able to meet Zhang Qing as soon as possible.”

“Bang”, the door was shut abruptly behind the old man after the voice fell, the noise of the door shutting even startled the old man a bit while his body trembled a bit. He stood still there for a brief moment, sighing heavily, and then left the house reluctantly.

Song Qinghan stood by the door. It was not until the sound of footsteps outside finally faded away did he uttered queerly, “So soon…?”

“Mistress, someone fixed his eyes on us? Maybe I should leave the ones outside and not answer the door?” Hualian asked nervously.

Song Qinghan was amused by Hualian’s expression, and then he shook his head in calmness, “Why not? Aren’t you curious about what tactics they are going to use? Moreover, even though you have the choice not to open the door, they can still smash the door.”

Upon hearing that, Hualian was even more nervous, while a slight wrath could be heard in his tone.

“How dare they will be if they really smash the door to intrude in under a broad daylight? Aren’t they afraid that the official runners will come and capture them?”

Song Qinghan raised his eyebrows and chuckled, “The severest punishment on them in compensating the door smashing will be suffering a financial loss at most. But we will face the troubles ourselves. So, don’t worry about that, open the door as long as someone is knocking. Nothing should be taken that seriously.”

Seeing that Song Qinghan was perfectly confident there, Hualian pursed his lips while taking down the over-flowing concern in his mind. He nodded obediently, and kept every single word of Song QInghan in mind.

For some reason, Song Qinghan always got a premonition that the other party would keep on bothering. In that case, even though he was still quite tired physically, he did not go back to the room but moved a stool over in the yard, grabbed a random book and commenced reading it. He was reading while casually looking over at the gate, seemingly waiting for the next knock on the door.

As expected, the door was knocked again while the stool wasn’t still heated up yet by his butt.

Song Qinghan smiled and made a gesture to Hualian motioning him to stay still. And then he stood up and walked towards the door and opened it.

Outside the door stood a good-looking femina man who seemed to be pregnant. It could be predicted from the man’s look that he seemed have cried just then because both his eyes were completely red-rimmed.
