Arthit’s POV
We should never say no to food right? I chanted in my mind over and over again.
“What is that dish? ” I reluctantly asked.
I only tasted his dish once but I could get addicted to it.
When I tried the same dish at the cafeteria it was so different.Â
So I wasted no time to saunter towards him and checked on it.
“Okay, ” I said after I smelled it with me pouting.
I was pretty sure it was Yam Nua. The delicious smell made it harder for me to walk away.
I sighed heavily. “Kong remember, this is only because you insisted. ” I added to somewhat pacify my conscience who was currently crying out loud a warning sign.
I’ve suddenly thought of something so he would think twice of inviting me to eat here next time.
“But I want that dish you cooked last time. ” I ordered.
He was tongue-tied and looked at me. I didn’t notice how close we were until now. “If you can’t —“Â
“Gaeng Daeng, it is.” he uttered interrupting the rest of what I wanted to say.
I stepped out of the kitchen. It was very uncomfortable with me to be with him at a closed space.
We practiced for more than normal today so I was dead beat. I took the magazine on the table and scanned it while waiting.
“You’re not even going to watch me cook?” I heard him shouted.
“Nah, my presence won’t make any difference on its taste anyway.”
It will. I seemed to hear him say. “What?”
“Never mind, this won’t take long.”
“Okay,”
I settled myself on the sofa while reading the magazine I took earlier.
Why are you here with him again? A voice inside.
I’ve been trying to ignore it since I’ve decided to stay. My mind was giving me all this warning signs to go but my body stood still.
It’s just food anyway besides I can go after we eat.
And I am hungry.
Also, I don’t have any food in my fridge right now so it would be useless to go back to my flat.
I kept listing all the reasons why I stayed to pacify my restless mind until I drifted off.
“Arthit?” I heard someone whispered near my ears. “Wake up,”
I whimpered, “go away,” I managed to say.
“Wake up, the food might get cold if you won’t eat it now.”
Hearing the word food made my stomach rumbled wildly but I was too lazy to open my eyes.
He chortled faintly. I settled myself again comfortably to go back to sleep.
I was about to fall into deep slumber when I felt his hand on my shoulder and gently shake me to wake up.Â
“The food is here, go back to sleep when you’re done eating.”
I whined inaudibly. I cursed him inside my head. I forced to open my eyes and I was welcomed by his smiling face.
“Let’s eat.” he uttered.
I crumpled my eye to fully wake myself up. When I got up, I saw all the food in the table right in front of me. “Kongpob, you don’t have to bring them all here.”
“It’s okay, let’s eat. I’m famished”
“You should have eaten first if you were hungry.” he just smiled.
At the back of my mind, I knew he waited for me. His actions were telling me so. I watched him as he put rice and Gaeng Daeng on my plate. He prepared the condiments as well.
This man is really something.
I sat on the floor right in front of table where food was served by him.
“Let me wash the dishes after, ” I announced.
“No, you’re my guest. ”
“Then I won’t eat this. ” I was crossing my fingers in my head because I don’t want to pass up this opportunity to eat his dishes.
I put down my spoon and fork to complete my act.
He sighed deeply. “Okay, okay. ” he gave up. “I’ll soap and rinse it, you dry them. Are you fine with that? “
It wasn’t fair but I don’t want to push my luck any further. “Fair enough, “
He handed me my spoon and fork back happily. “Eat, “
“Okay, you too. ” I replied.
I instinctively handed him his spoon and fork too which he gladly took.
His happiness seemed so shallow.
He brightens up just by eating.
We ate silently next to each other. He was in his usual, serving me before him. “Kongpob, I have hands to get what I want.”
His hand stopped midway to my plate. He was about to put a spoonful of Yam Nua on it. “I know,” then carried on.
“Might as well feed me already, “ I whispered.
“Hmm, ” he had his arms stretched with a spoonful of food near my mouth.
“Tsk! What the~? ” I yelled, pushing his hand away.
He just shrugged his shoulders like it was nothing. “You told me to feed you, ” he said, eating the food he tried to feed me earlier.
“I told you countless times to go away but you’re not doing so. “
He stopped midway to eating. “I can’t do that, “
“Why? ” he ignored my question.
I sighed helplessly.
Stopping him would be futile.
I just let him do what he wants excluding the feeding part.
His cooking skill is above average. It made me eat more until I was full.
“Kong, I am so full. ” I said, still very satisfied.
“How was it?”
“Which one?”
“Both,”
“It was okay,” I lied. It was more than okay but I won’t give him that satisfaction.
So mean of me, I thought.
I leaned my head on the sofa behind me and closed my eyes. “I’m so full,” I repeated.
He was silent.
Then after a while, a warm cup brushed my cheeks. I opened my eyes. “Tea, it will help digest the food.”
He just knew what I needed before I ask for it. I will never dare to ask for it any way.
“I am glad that my “okay” dish made you full.”
I smirked and rolled my eyes then sipped on a cup of tea.
He was cleaning the table when I clearly told him I will do it myself earlier.
I held his hand with a plate. “Kong, let me clean the table.”
I glared at him when he was about to protest.
I took the plates on his hand before he could say something.
I brought them all to the kitchen sink and started to wash them.
“I’ll do that, dry them when I’m done.”
“I’m already at it, you dry them instead.” I told him coldly.
I heard him breath helplessly. I hid a smile. “Okay,” he muttered.
He was quietly taking the dishes I handed him after washing them.
He wasn’t talking so I opted to not talk as well.
From time to time, I steal glances at him.
His expression was unreadable but a thin smile was plastered on his lips.
His gaze went to me, where it was too late for me to look away.
Then he flashes a smile that seems so genuinely tender with just the right touch of shyness that unexpected warmth rushes through me.
I pouted to hide it in.

Forgive me, I am a sucker for sweet scenes. Moreover, bear with my very late updates. Kind of busy preparing for our trip, off to see the iconic Rama Bridge by the end of the month. I’m gonna look for that spot where they had their first kiss in the series. ðŸ˜
I hope I am not disappointing anybody yet with this story.
