Arthit’s POV

“Kongpob?” “Arthit?”

We said simultaneously.

I saw his eyes widen.

He was clearly as dumbfounded as I was.

He looked like he just took a shower because his hand was on his head with a towel in it.

He was topless and his pants was loosely hugging on his waist.

“What the heck are you doing here?” I asked.

“I should be the one asking you that,” he quickly remarked.

It struck me.

Is he?

Is he the person Sahit’s going to introduce?

The boyfriend?

I shook the thought away.

No.

That can’t be.

I must have knocked on the wrong room.

I checked it one more time.

714.

It was definitely this one.

But why is he here?

I will have to call Sahit.

“There must be some mistake. Sorry.” I slipped my phone out from my pocket to call Sahit when I heard someone called out my name.

“Arthit!” Sahit exclaimed cheerfully.

Kongpob was shoved backwards when Sahit ran to me.

She looked like she just got up from the bed, hair disheveled but still a sight to behold.

I was caught off guard when he enveloped me in her arms firmly.

“I missed you, ” she murmured.

I stole a glance at Kongpob.

His face looked calm but his eyes were showing me otherwise.

After quite a while, she broke her embrace.

At the corner of my eyes, I saw Kongpob sauntered away but Sahit was quick enough to cease him.

She clung her arms around Kong’s shoulder.

She grabbed the towel on his head and she beamed brightly. “Kongpob, this is Arthit. Remember, the bestest friend I was talking about? ”

I peered at Kongpob.

I caught him already looking at me.

He never even bothered to look away.

Was he jealous? In the way he stare, he looked like he was.

He must be jealous.

I smirked inside.

What could Sahit possibly like in him?

First, he is annoying.

Second, he is very annoying.

And lastly, he is quite annoying.

“Him? ” gone was the usual smiling Kongpob.

This man looked brooding.

He must love Sahit very much for him to feel threatened.

“You knew each other? ” it was unclear if who she was asking the question to.

She might have sensed the tension between us.

He paid no heed to her question.

He sashayed towards the bed and put a shirt on.

Sahit shrugged her shoulders and gazed at me as if waiting for me to answer.

“S-ssort of,” I said.

I stuttered.

“How come?”

“He’s a freshman from my university,”

She nodded. “Great, that means getting along won’t be a problem then.” she smiled at me.

What is happening? I asked myself.

Is Kongpob her boyfriend?

How?

Stupid question. I mocked myself.

“Who is he to you? ” Before I could shut my mouth, I asked when Kongpob was out of earshot.

“Kongpob? ” she grinned. “You know the boyfriend I was talking about last time?”

“Is he? “

“He is~,” it sounded like she was about to say more when she was cut off by Kongpob.

So, he is that man.

I felt like something pricked my heart.

“I think you should get ready. I’ll put your bags in the car, ” he told Sahit.

Kongpob then lifted the bag at the foot of the bed.

“Thank you, are you coming back up here? ” she inquired. “Or you’ll wait there? “

“Do you want me to? ” he asked in return.

“Yep. Yep. Come back” Sahit responded abruptly. And held the hem of his shirt and swayed it left and right.

“Okay, your wish is my command. ” he smiled brightly at her. “Do you want me to get you something? ” he asked.

“Nope, I am fine. “

“Okay, ” then carried on.

Watching them this close was very annoying.

I smirked.

I looked at Kongpob as he walked past me.

He might have seen me smirked for his lips perked up.

Seeing him smile, even when it wasn’t directed at me, made me feel at ease.

Why?

I followed him with a glance until the door closed behind him.

“Arthit, I’m sorry but I have to go” she sounded so apologetic.

“It’s okay, is everything alright? ” I asked.

“Yeah, my dad called and wants me home now. “

“Do you want me to accompany you? ” I get along well with his dad, so is her Mom.

They treated me well while I was still in my hometown. They even considered me as their own son. My parents were always away due to their work so I often come by their house and spend my day there.

“No need, my boyfriend is driving me. ” she said.

Boyfriend.

I nodded.

Shit.

Clicked.

The door opened again and Kongpob appeared afterward.

His gaze was directed at me.

It was piercing through me.

I didn’t know I was holding my breath until I heard him speak and I sighed deeply.

“Are you ready? ” he shifted his gaze to Sahit.

I still couldn’t take my eyes off him.

Why am I so disappointed?

Why do I feel like if it wasn’t Kongpob, it would have been fine?

I wouldn’t have been this upset.

Why am I feeling this?

“In ten, ” she ran to the bathroom.

I followed her with a glance.

“So she was the Sahit” there was something off with his tone. It was more like a statement than a question.

I disregard the thought.

“The Sahit?” I creased my brow. “What do you mean?” I asked sternly.

He pursed his lips together.

He walked closer towards me.

He did not answer. “Are you really the boyfriend?” I managed to ask.

“And if I am?” he questioned in return.

“She’s my friend, so I have the right to know. ” I retorted.

“Do you like her?”

I furrowed my brow.

I avoided his gaze.

I turned a deaf ear to his question.

I didn’t know we were standing close until I stepped away from him.

“Stop liking her, ” he demanded.

It made my blood boil.

“It’s none of your business,” I said.

“It is,” he said austerely.

“Why is it the hell your fucking bus-? ” I was restraining my voice so Sahit won’t hear us but he interrupted.

“It’s me, ” then grinned from ear to ear. “whom you should be liking. ” he added.

Those words shut me up.

How could he think of teasing me while his girlfriend is just a stone throw away.

“Kongpob!” I muttered between my teeth.

“Let’s go?”

Our heated conversation was cut off my Sahit.

Kongpob walked towards the bed and took Sahit’s bag.

He handed it to her.

I smirked. Trying to be a gentleman huh.

This man is unbelievable.

Sahit took it from him then clung her hands around his shoulders. “Let’s go.” she was smiling brightly at him.

“Are you okay?” I didn’t notice Sahit stopped to look at me.

“Huh?” I asked. “Of course. “

Then we walked separately when we got off the elevator.

Our gaze met when I looked at them again.

Kongpob.
