“You really don’t need to carry me up the plane stairs.” I grumble.

Moretti just snorts but doesn’t reply.

I watch us get higher off the ground as Moretti walks up the stairs.

Feeling a panic attack come on, I wrap my arms around his waist and bury my head in his back. I close my eyes.

Goddess, I hate heights.

I feel Moretti stiffen when I wrapped my arms around him, but we both said nothing.

I feel him begin to walk on even ground again, and soon enough I felt his hands unclasp mine and he sets me down on a seat.

And of course it’s a window seat.

He takes the seat directly across from me, and Malik happily skips to another seat that isn’t around us.

“Put on your seatbelt.” Moretti tells me.

I glare at him before actually doing it.

“What’s your name?” He tries to continue the conversation.

“What’s yours?” I sassily fire back.

Doesn’t matter.”

“Then mine doesn’t matter either.” I shrug.

He leans forward in his seat, giving me an intense stare.

I meet his gaze and suddenly we’re in a staring contest again.

“Can you guys please stop staring at each other all horny like? I don’t like feeling like a third wheel.”

I break contact with him and look over at a smirking Malik.

“There’s no romantic relationship going on here. So no need to feel like a third wheel.”

Malik snorted. “Yeah, sure.” He looks over at Moretti.

“Moretti, how irresponsible are you? Put your seatbelt on, dipshit.”

He growls but puts on his seatbelt nonetheless.

And now we get into an awkward silence. Waiting for the plane to take off.

———

I grip onto the seat arms, my knuckles for sure going white. I look anywhere besides outside the window.

My breathing starts to pick up pace.

Not another panic attack. Not now.

I feel like I’m going to throw up as the plane is at an awkward angle, due to flying up higher.

I close my eyes and start counting to ten over and over quietly.

I keep doing this over and over until the plane evens out.

Eventually, I open my eyes when I hear the plane ding. I hesitantly look out the window, but pull back when I start to panic again.

How can people like heights? I can’t even watch those videos where people are doing crazy things at the top of a skyscraper.

I look at Moretti, and he’s carefully watching me.

“How much longer is this flight?” I ask nervously.

“Two and a half hours.” He cocks his head to the side.

“Fuck.” I mumble under my breath.

Another ding goes off around five minutes later.

I look up at the buttons above me, and it signals we can remove our seatbelts.

“Come here.” I look over at Moretti, who is barely motioning to the seat next to him.

Hell no.” I scowl.

He crosses his arms.

“I am not undoing this seatbelt and walking on a plane at thousands of feet in the air.” I retort.

He just blinks and then undoes his seatbelt.

I raise a brow in confusion as he reaches out to me.

I scream when he undoes my seatbelt.

“No! What the hell man?!” I quickly rush to get my seatbelt back on, but he grabs my arms so I can’t.

He picks me up like I’m the lightest thing ever.

I hit his shoulders, but he eventually puts me down in the seat he motioned too a moment earlier.

“Stop acting like a three year old.” He huffs, and sits in his seat, which was next to the window.

I put my seatbelt on faster then the flash can run, and cross my arms.

“Excuse me? Did you just call me a three year old?” I whine.

He hums.

“I am not a damn three year old.” I sass.

I hear Malik chuckle, and I snap my head over to where he sits and glare.

“You’re really stubborn. I enjoy it.”

“I am not stubborn!” I gasp.

Malik just laughs again and picks up a book, ending our banter.

I just rolled my eyes and yawned, suddenly realizing how tired I was.

“What time is it?” I ask Moretti.

“Around midnight London time. Our watches won’t update until we’ve landed.” He briefly explains.

My eyes widen.

Kay was probably back at the hotel room. And I was no longer there. No one knows where I am.

I turn away from Moretti, so he won’t see my sad expression.

I already miss my family so much. And I no longer have contact with any of them. I felt the mindlink connection break with them when we were driving to the airport.

At least I don’t have to deal with Kyle and Easton.

That seemed to lift my mood just a tad.

I look back over to Moretti and he pulled out a laptop and was typing away, headphones in and everything.

Malik is reading, Moretti is working, but what the hell can I do? I have nothing remotely entertaining to pass the next two hours with.

“I don’t appreciate you kidnapping me.” I say.

Moretti takes out one earphone and raises a brow.

“I said, I don’t appreciate you kidnapping me.”

He just hums and puts his earbud back in.

Jackass.

I sigh. This small jet isn’t like a commercial plane, but I wish it was. Then I would have a TV screen in front of me.

I groan.

Moretti turns to me.

“I’m so bored.” I exaggerate.

He just blinks, but hands me one of his earbuds.

“You can listen to music with me.” He says monotonously.

Curiously, I take it from him and put it in my ear.

My eyebrows furrow as I’m met with classical music.

Like, orchestra music.

“Classical. Classic.” I roll my eyes.

He raises a brow.

Ah ha! Some emotion from him! At last!

“Do you not like it? I can just turn it off.”

I shake my head. At least it was better than nothing.

“I’ll manage.” I shrug.

He just stares at me for a moment more, before turning back to his laptop screen.

I look out the window on the other side of the plane. I see the occasional red light on the wing flicker, illuminating some clouds.

That sight was fine for me to see. Looking at the ground though, will send me in a panic.

I don’t notice myself resting my head on Moretti’s shoulder, and I close my eyes, the sound of soft violins lulling me to sleep.
