“Where the fuck is Atlas.” It wasn’t a question. It was a demand. The other boys looked around, and I caught a glimpse of Niko hiding behind Magnus.

But that’s not what I was focusing on. We had left Atlas at the table. We had told him to stay. He did not stay. “Maybe he went to look around,” a gentle voice sounded, and I looked over to see Magnus laying a hand on my arm. I shook it off.

“No.” My voice was cold, I could tell it was scaring the others. “He didn’t just look around. He’s never been here. He didn’t even seem excited to come” I spat, and the others looked at each other.

Magnus kept talking in that stupid soft voice. “I’m not child. Don’t treat me like one.” Magnus backed off at my glare, and Ever gave him a comforting smile. God dammit.

Where the fuck did he go.

He didn’t know where the exits where.

Where the fuck is he.

My eyes narrowed as I ran through the possibilities. My head was a mess. We had only just gotten him out of the house. We had been making progress, and now he was gone.

I looked around wildly, trying to see any kind of glimpse of him. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. My mind was in overdrive at this point. There were some bad people.

People who didn’t approve of us. He had better not have gotten caught up with them. I heard a small voice beside me. Looking down, I saw a girl with dark curly hair, and little sunflower clips in her hair. I shot her a cold look, telling her to shut up.

She didn’t. “Hey- are you looking for your friend? That pretty guy who was here?” She asked, voice warm, and my eyes snapped back towards her.

“Where is he.” She looked taken aback at me statement but kept eye contact. If I wasn’t so worked up, I would have been impressed.

Not everyone decides to talk to the big scary man in the room. “He- he went with a bunch of guys. They looked like idiots to be honest, but I didn’t want to interrupt.” She told me, eyes bright with worry.

Shit. I knew exactly who she was talking about. Fucking Spencer and his little gang. I strode over to her, dark eyes flashing.

“Where did they go.” I demanded, and she brushed some of her hair out of her eyes. “I’ll take you.” She declared, and I almost raised an eyebrow.

She’s got some nerve. I nodded once, before motioning to others, who had been silent, to follow. I guess they weren’t expecting me to listen to her, because Colten looked like he was on the verge of dragging me back to the car.

Like he could. She got up quickly, seeing our rush. “Come.” She spoke, and almost ran out of the food court.

“Hey- you sure we can trust her?” Colten. My tone was clipped when I replied.

“We’re finding Atlas. Now.” Colten didn’t back down from my stare, but his eyes flicked back and forth between mine, before calling for the others to hurry up.

I wasn’t really wondering if this girl was lying. I don’t think anyone would be that dumb to do that to me. If she was… she’s going to wish she’d never lied. I am finding Atlas today.

No matter what. A couple more footsteps joined ours, and I looked back to see Cyr motioning for some of the mall workers to come too. The girl stopped just outside a fire escape stairwell. “Here.” She panted, and I nodded at her. “Stay outside.”

Magnus raised an eyebrow at this, before telling the others to do the same. I only wanted Mag, Colten, Riftyn and I to go in.

I’m not having anymore people roped into this. Even though we were outside, I could here Spencer and his friends already getting that started. Started on Atlas. Their loud slurs came through the door, and after nodding at the girl again, I opened the door.

Fuck. It was a mess. Atlas was already bleeding. Spencers friends weren’t though. Atlas didn’t….? My mind didn’t stop to process that as I pushed through the crowd to Atlas.

Mag and the others got to work on Spencer’s crew, and the only sounds around me were the grunts of pain and yells. I smirked inwardly. Spencer was getting what that fucker deserved. He won’t lay a finger on my Atlas ever.

I swallowed, looking down at Atlas. He had passed out. It was only then that I acknowledged that no one else was really hurt. He mustn’t have gone all out on them.

I had seen a couple of them bleeding a little, and bruised, but nothing compared to what had happened on his first night. I wasn’t sure what to think of that. He must have been holding back a lot.

All Magnus had done was touch him.

These dickheads beat him up. I knew what that was like.

To have to hold back every emotion, stopping yourself from hurting everyone in the room. The same thing happened thing happened to me when I first came. The fight club I had been in had been found out, and police had been everywhere. I had only escaped jail because of Mag taking me in.

Frowning, I raised Atlas’s shirt just a little, to see where the blood was coming from.

Cyr must have seen because he reached out, crying “No!” It was too late. As I raised his shirt, I saw a collection of bandages over his torso, where the blood was. It wasn’t difficult to figure out what they were from.

This must have been why he didn’t give it his all. He didn’t want to reopen cuts. Ah. Magnus will be angry. Cyr looked at me, eyes wide. Wait. How did he know.

Cyrus must have seen the look in my eyes, because he gulped. “I- he- I saw him in the changing room. He told me not to tell anyone.” He looked down at his feet. As this point, everyone was watching.

They must have taken care of those fucking street rats. Magnus cleared throat, walking over to Cyrus. He placed a gentle hand over Cyr’s shoulder, but we could all the see the anger and disappointment in his eyes.

Cyrus shifted, trying to get out of his grip. Magnus instead tightened it. “We’re going to have a little talk after this.” He spoke voice low. There’s my little Mag. Always trying to take control.

As we walked back to the car, Niko and Ever kept glancing over at Atlas, who was still in my arms. I wasn’t going to let him go for a very long time. Colten smirked as he watched me tighten my grip on Atlas, and I shot him a cold glare.

I sent him a smug look as he shivered. As we got home, Mag walked over to me. “I’m going to have Niko watch over him okay? You just might be a little… intimidating if he waked up.” I glared at him, before stalking off over to Colten’s room.

“Aw. Wasn’t it sweet to watch you cuddle him.” Colten cooed, and I forgot every reason I came over here. Letting out a large exhale, I left the room, leaving Colten there.
