Ah. The way he shivered. The way his adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed. The way his legs rubbed together. I couldn’t get the image of Atlas underneath me out of my mind as Magnus dragged me out. I guess he was angry.
Whoops? I’m not sure I really care anyway. It was worth it.
“What were you thinking?”
I met Magnus’s gaze hard on. “He probably already figured us out anyways,”
Magnus pinched the bridge of his nose. “You can’t- you can’t just be so blunt!” He exclaimed, stress, and exasperation shining through. “We don’t even know if he likes guys. We’ve already interrupted his privacy way too many times. We’re getting too comfortable. What if he runs away. He was already cutting- I can’t- I don’t want to drive him away-“
I cut Magnus off with a glare. “Did you see the way he was looking at me?”
Magnus gulped, looking away.
“Ah. You want him just as much as we do. I understand you’re trying to be careful- but if we don’t let him in- soon enough he’s going to go. He’s going to slip away, and we won’t be able to do anything about it. Just- let him see. Let him see what he could have.”
Magnus looked at me, an uncertain look overcoming his face. I grabbed his hand, bringing it up to my lips, and kissed it. “What do you say, pretty boy?”
He let a smile spread across his calm features, and I grinned in response. “Tonight?”
“Wha-“
“Come on, its been ages~” I pouted. Magnus glared at me.
“What about Niko- in the kitchen?”
“Oh- that- haha-” I scratched my head, and he noticed the way I was slowly edging away from him.
He sighed in amusement. “Fine. Tomorrow?”
Grabbing his head, I pulled it closer to mine, pressing our lips together. Forcing my tongue towards his mouth, I felt his open a little. His tongue began to push into mine, and I frowned into the kiss.
Letting the saliva flow between us for a second, I smirked as I bit his lip a little, and he opened his mouth for a gasp. My tongue explored the familiar crevices of him, and I already knew he was blushing. And I was the one who got him to this.
He wouldn’t submit to anyone but me. Magnus pulled out of the kiss, and I was snapped out of my thoughts. I glanced up at him, doe-eyed. “Really~?”
He looked away.
“Later.”
We went back to Colten’s room, and I smirked as I saw Atlas in the corner, expecting him to look up. He didn’t. Frowning a little, I looked closer to see his hands fiddling with something in his lap. His hands.
Oh God. I don’t think I had seen hands like his in a while. Long, slender, fingers, calculated movements. Just imagine what they could do to my di-. Ow.
Magnus, probably by looking at my face, saw what I was thinking, and knocked me on the back of my head. Turning around to glare at him, I heard my little Atlas get up, and turned back around.
I watched as he went and tapped Arlo on the shoulder, with small, shy movements. Why was he shy? And why did he want to talk to Arlo?
Keeping my gaze on him, I watched as he handed Arlo a small bracelet. Another blush coating his cheeks. “I uh- thanks for yesterday- a-and being here, I guess” His voice came out quiet, and it was all mumbled, but I felt my heart grow warm at his words.
It looked as though Arlo’s did too. “Mhm. Thank you little one.” Atlas’s blush grew. Hm? That’d be fun. Nicknames. My mind was already racing at the opportunities, before I reminded myself as to what I had been watching. Atlas shifted a little in his spot, before Arlo patted on his lap. “Come. Sit.”
“Wha- me?”
Aw. Cute. Arlo nodded, before reaching around Atlas. I watched as he picked Atlas up by the waist, and basically manhandled him onto his lap. Atlas’s eyes widened, before settling down, shifting around.
His hands lay in his lap, fiddling with themselves, before he made a bold move. A warm smile was on my face as I watched him grab one of Arlo’s hands, placing it in his lap.
My gaze followed Atlas’s hands as he rubbed Arlo’s hand in circles, seemingly smoothing out the already smooth skin. Atlas mumbled something to himself, before yawning. I think he was too tired to process what he was doing.
Arlo must have had the same thought. He coaxed Atlas’s head onto his shoulder, before snuggling back onto the couch, looking around. No one was paying attention to the movie. They were all staring at Arlo and Atlas. With something in their eyes. Something I would see from them every day. Love.
I wish Atlas could see this. God knows he needs it. I wish he could open his pretty little eyes and see how we all gazed at him with admiration. With happiness. With love.
I think he’s happy. Huh. Happy. Atlas. Happy. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him happy before. Truly happy. He’s usually just quiet. Not responsive.
I don’t think how he normally acts though. It seems more of a wall that he put up. That I don’t think he knows how to take down.
We all ended up sleeping in Colten’s room. Half of us usually do anyways. I was awake before everyone though. It meant I could watch Atlas’s reaction to waking up on Arlo. I thought I would be happy.
I thought I’d get to see a flustered little Atlas. I didn’t. Instead, as I blinked, I watched him wake. And I watched the panic flash across his face. Of what? I wouldn’t have a clue. But it wasn’t long before he supposedly calmed himself. And then he was blank again.
He got up and left. As if nothing had happened. But he couldn’t hide the small blush. The warm look in his eyes. I don’t think he wanted it there. I don’t know why though. Was he sad because of the affection? But who would be sad of that?
I don’t think anyone’s come through here with that. Maybe it reminded it of something. Ah. His family. We knew a little bit about what had happened, but not nearly enough, and even if we did, it wouldn’t really be we. It would be Magnus. And I doubt he’d tell us that soon.
Everyone else awoke soon enough. I didn’t have to wait too long. But they all looked confused as to where Atlas was too. “Rif? Where is he.” Magnus was looking at me straight on. “I know you were awake when he left?” I glanced around the room, wanting to see who else was up.
“I don’t know,” I sighed “He just left.”
Magnus pinched the bridge of his nose. I should get back to the tally I had of whenever he did that. “I’ll have to get him to try and tell us today.” He didn’t sound happy. I think he wanted Atlas to be able to come to him in his own time.
“Tell us?” Ah. Milo.
Magnus sent a weak smile in his direction. “About himself.”
Milo nodded slowly, before shooting Cyrus a confused look. I facepalmed. Not bothering to deal with this anymore, I left the room. As soon as I got to the top of the stairs I could smell something. A good something.
I grinned, before jumping over half the steps. “You made crepes!” I exclaimed, arms stretched out wide. Atlas didn’t even flinch at the noise, before turning to look at me. He hesitated, and I racked my brains.
What? What did I do wrong? Do I need to be quieter? How do I apologise? Would he want chocolates?
My rush of thoughts were cut off. By something I never would have thought would happen. Atlas had edged over to me, before tucking his arms around me, pulling me in closer. He squeezed. “Don’t look so worried.” He mumbled, and my face was flushed. He- he- what just happened? I could feel my heart about to burst, and tears were already welling in my eyes.
He was hugging me- I can’t- fucking god I love this boy. He fucking- he’s so adorable. He stepped back a little, trying to look at me, before I pulled him back into the hug. “No- you’re staying with me.”
Flicking of the stove where he was cooking, I hesitated, before wrapping my hands around his thighs. He jumped a little, and I took that as a que, and hoisted his hips over mine, wrapping his body around mine.
He’s so cute. I could almost picture the surprised look on his face as I nuzzled my face into his warm neck, feeling his ashy hair dust over my face.
I moved us over to the couches, settling us both down, keeping my arms wrapped around me. “Thank you.” He whispered, a I turned to look at him. My eyes widened as I saw small tears slipping out of his eyes, trailing down blushing cheeks. “Wha- are you okay?”
I grabbed his jaw as he tried to look away. “Don’t turn away from me darling. We’re talking.”
I watched him shiver, and a satisfactory smirk arose on my face, before remembering where I was. No. Stop. He’s crying. Fix it.
Confident in my little checklist, I looked at him cautiously. “What’s wrong?” I asked quietly, and he buried his face in my neck. “Take your time,” I told him calmy, and he seemed to nod. I rubbed my hands over his back, and soon he stopped shaking as much.
“I want- my family never did this- I-” Understanding what he was trying to say, I motioned for the others, whom I had heard at the door, to come sit down. “You want to tell us now?” I whispered, brushing my thumb over his cheeks to wipe away tears, before one landed on his bottom lips. Haha.
Look at all these wonderful opportunities that keep arising. Pushing the dirty thoughts out of my mind, I rested my thumb on his lip, and he looked up at me with doe eyes. Fuck, he was beautiful. Glancing around the room, half the other guys must have been having the same thought.
“Alright Riftyn. Put him down so he can tell us.”
Atlas didn’t jump at Magnus’s voice like I thought he would. He must have heard the others enter the room. I nodded slowly, before reaching to Atlas back to take him back. His hands clenched around my shirt. “It’s okay. I’ll still be here.”
He nodded shakily, before letting himself be put down beside me. When he looked up at the others, he seemed to have a moment of realisation, because he took a deep breath, before putting up his emotionless mask again, ignoring the tears trailing down his face.
As if they were never there. As if he wasn’t sad. As if he didn’t have any emotions. I hated when he did that. None of us wanted him to feel like he had to hide from us.
At least now, we’ll know why.
