The colorful lights were blasting around the mansion—drunk teens littered everywhere.

Everything was a little blurry and things mushed together. Faces blurred together until they all looked the same but I could still see that there was still some alcohol left in my bottle.

I couldn’t tell you how many drinks I’ve had because that would be to many to count plus I’ve forgotten.

The only thing I could focus on was the girl trying to take me to bed. She pulled me towards the stairs, stumbling a bit in her stiletto heels.

We made it half way up the stairs before I was pulled backwards. I dropped my bottle and it shattered against the step, the remaining liquid  spilling out.

“Hey…I wasn’t done with that.” I mumbled as I fell into someone’s arms.

“You’re drunk and you’re not gonna go sleeping with people who aren’t you mate.” My best friend—Keagan—said, making my stand up on my own.

What a cock block. It’s not like I’m a virgin anymore so what’s the problem with one more body.

“Love is fake. I sleep with who I want.” I grumbled and tried to push away.

I don’t want a mate. It’s a love bond that’s forced upon two people. Most of the time two strangers who have never seen each other before and they are just expected to fall in love on the spot. Where’s the logic in that?

You can’t just simply fall in love that fast. You don’t even know the person.

He rolled his eyes at me and pulled me down the stairs, and towards the door.

“I don’t wanna leave yet.” I whined, “I wanna go have funnn.”

“We’ve been here for 3 hours and your just getting dumber and dumber.” He scolded me.

He dragged me outside and I tried to pull back but it didn’t work. It sucks when your best friend is bigger and stronger than you and also has the mentality of a prude. His way goes.

He’s 3 inches taller than me and actually goes to all his training sessions. He passionate on becoming a warrior wolf and puts his heart, soul, and body into it daily. I admire his passion and i wonder what it feels like but, I would have rather felt that girl instead.

I stopped growing at 13. I’m stuck being 5’10 for the rest of my life and that’s short for a male werewolf. I don’t let myself become overlooked however, I may not win a fight physically but I can win one verbally.

We passed a group of stoners all fighting over the last of their supply. At least I’m not into that smoking shit. Tried it a few times but it wasn’t my thing, I didn’t get the same thrill that I do from alcohol.

He took me back to his car that we came in and sat me in the backseat. I laid across the seats and stared at the roof of the car. My vision went back in forth from black to color. My eyes started to droop now that I was away from all the stimulation.

Keagan acted like a parent—the mom friend if you will. I don’t exactly know how a parent is supposed to act but I think it’s similar to how Keagan acts.

All like “don’t throw your life away” and “you have so much to look forward too” sort of crap.
The only thing you need to know in your life is “no regrets.”

He started the car and started driving away from the house. We got about 5 seconds out of view of the house before we heard a booming voice from the mansion. Alpha Straits.

He found the party and was shutting it down. He was strict on rules and underage acts were his big ones. He thinks we should value our bodies and whatever. He also thinks it could affect our wolves, growth, speed and stuff.

Our bodies and ability’s are a gift, and we should cherish them.

Whole lot of shit if you ask me.

Keagan sped up and got us out of the property without being caught. I guess it is a good thing he forced me to leave. Saved my ass from a lot of chores and a lot of being grounded.

Who knew you could still get grounded even though you don’t have parents?

The drive back to the pack grounds was quiet but relaxing. The loud rhythm of the the music at the party was starting to give me a headache. That or the ungodly amount of vodka I drank but holy Goddess above, it was good.

I mostly just loved the burn of it, the feeling of it hitting my stomach and the effects that kicked in just shortly after. It was a beautiful process in my opinion.

We were only about 30 minutes away from home. The party was thrown by a couple of rich human teens who’s parents were out of town.

To them, Alpha Quinn was an important business man that’s tight with the police, coming to crash the party and they knew better than to get on his bad side.

They don’t know that werewolves exist and they never will. That’s just for the best.

Sometimes I wish I was human. They have to deal with a lot less.

They don’t have to worry about battle’s between packs, keeping your wolf under control, keeping your supernatural identity a secret, and most importantly, they aren’t tied down to soulmates.

They aren’t forced into love. They have the freedom to love who ever they want. They can hook up, date, break up with, and do whatever they want with whoever they want.

I want that freedom.

Alas, I’m stuck in the supernatural world.

I’ll find a mate one day, I’ll witness battles, I’ll encounter rouges, I’ll live the life of a werewolf until I die.

A curse if you ask me.

Plus it takes a lot more to get a werewolf drunk than it does a human. More alcohol costs more money and my minimum wage job isn’t cutting it.

I find my ways though.

We pull into the pack grounds and pass through security with ease. The security guard—Alec—is really chill. He’ll buy for us as long as we pay him back so it is a good system we got going.

“Is Grayson even alive back there?” he asks Keagan, seeing me laying in the backseat.

“I’m sleepy.” I mumbled. I have to admit, I’m not the most fun drunk. Once I’m drunk, I’m tired and lazy.

“Y’all are not going to a fun bunch tomorrow. Two cranky hungover teens is hell on the rest of us.” He shook his head.

“I’m not even drunk, I drove us all the way home.” Keagan protested and Alec shrugged.

“I guess your personality is annoying enough to be grouped together—” He cut off his sentence and looked at the oncoming cars behind us.

“Drive home fast ’cause these cars behind you are from the Sinclair pack and Goddess forbid y’all are caught like this.”

“What are they doing here? They live across the country?”

“I’m honestly not sure, Alpha just told me to let them in and that they will be staying a few nights.”

“Great.” Keagan muttered.

Alec opened the gate and let us through. We drove straight to my house because Keagan practically lives at my house with all the crap he leaves there.

The pack is set up like a neighborhood. Every family has their own house and since I’m “technically” an orphan, I get my own house.

I don’t know who though letting a 15 year old live alone was a fantastic idea but honestly, I don’t care because I love it.

I’m “technically” an orphan because one of my parents is still alive, but he doesn’t deserve the title of a parent.

All the houses are unique and nice to look at. I live around the middle of the pack in a 1 bedroom house. I don’t really need that much space and I am barely ever home.

There’s a pack house directly in the middle but no one lives there, it just holds the dining hall, game rooms, pool, it’s like an activity center. It also has the Alpha’s office on the top floor.

We pull into my driveway and I get out by myself this time. I grab the house key from a plant and open the door. I know that’s not the safest place for a key, but it’s the easiest to remember and I don’t think anyone in this pack is going to try and get in. I mean, are they really going to steal from a 15 year old orphan? I only own what was bought for me.

(Grayson’s house shown at the top)

We walk in and I go to the kitchen first. I grab a bottle of water and start drinking it as I head upstairs to my bedroom.

I made it so the whole upstairs is my bedroom so it is very spacious and so I could have a king sized bed. I love to sprawl out when I sleep.

Keagan followed me up the stairs, his own bottle of water in his hands.

I didn’t have the energy to change or shower so I opted to just laying down and crashing. I can feel disgusting in the morning. I placed my water on my night stand and go comfy in my bed, Keagan on the other side.

Seconds later I was out.
