AN: It’s back! I know it’s been so long since I’ve last updated a chapter, I’m sorry about that! But, it’s back!
Karin was set to stay in the hospital for a few days after giving birth. Of course, Akashi and Sasuke stayed with her and Yahan for hours at a time. It was as if they were magnets that couldn’t be separated.
_
“You’re tired.” A light voice whispered near him, and Akashi peered to the side. Sasuke was looking at him, dark tresses of soft locks laid spread atop the bed covers.
Karin had long since fallen asleep, so did Yahan in the crib next to the bed.
“I’m not.” He whispered back, biting down a poorly restrained yawn. His fingers gripped onto the covers and he didn’t budge. There was no way he was going to leave. It was still too early.
Warm skin brushed across his cheek, “It’s almost morning… You’re going to tire yourself into an unconscious state if this goes on.” A thumb swiped over his cheekbone and he closed his eyes, leaning closer into the touch.
“What about you?” He mumbled, breathing in as he titled his head.
The bed lightly shifted as Sasuke sat up, “I took a nap a few hours ago, but you did not.” The man answered, hand taking hold of Akashi’s own.
A nap? “Ten minutes isn’t a nap, you know?” That was funny.
“Ten minutes is better than none,” He didn’t struggle against Sasuke as the man pulled him up, free hand curling around his waist, “I feel the same as you, I’d stay here all the time if I could, but… You need to rest and I don’t feel comfortable leaving you all alone at home. Besides, there are ANBU guards surrounding this room, remember?” Soft lips pressed against his temple, “Nothing will happen to them — nothing can happen to them.”
As much as he didn’t like the idea of leaving, Akashi had been struggling to keep his eyes open for the last few hours. Sleep was raking at the back of his mind and his body barely even listened to him, “You’re rather persuasive…” He said, even though he knew that Sasuke knew that wasn’t what made him agree.
“I know.” The dark-haired man played along.
Akashi nodded against his shoulder and pulled back, glancing at the small crib a few feet away from him. Pulling Sasuke along, the two of them stopped right besides it and stared into it.
Yahan laid quietly, his crimson hair a harsh contrast against the whiteness of the covers. His little lips were parted, soft breaths leaving through them. Akashi resisted the urge to take a hold of his little, chubby hand and bring it to his lips, “I love him,” he spoke, fondness shinning in his violet irises, “I really love him.”
There were no other words he could’ve used to explain how he feels about the baby. There were no other possible words he could’ve used. His heart soared into the clouds high above just from looking at him. His heart leapt distances just at the sight of him. He felt like crying every time Yahan looked at him.
Sasuke gripped his hand, “As do I.”
The two of them stood still, hands tightly intertwined together.
“She gave us a blessing, didn’t she?” Akashi asked, glancing at the sleeping Karin.
“She did. She most certainly did.” Sasuke immediately agreed, leaning his shoulder against Akashi’s own.
_
The sky was still dark when they arrived home, and so was the house. Akashi breathed out a tired sigh, momentarily separating from Sasuke to take off his shoes, “I’m in a dire need of a bath.”
“You are.”
Hearing that response, Akashi glanced at Sasuke, “Is that implying what I think it’s implying?” He questioned in mock anger, watching as Sasuke looked away.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
What a joker.
Huffing out a laugh, Akashi grabbed him by the wrist once more and pulled him along, “You’re joining me.” With that, he marched towards the bathroom.
_
As soon as the water was ready, Akashi jumped in, “Hurry or the water will get cold!” He lightly splashed the water, urging Sasuke to get in.
The said man sighed as he unbuttoned his shirt, “You’re in a hurry.” Sasuke raised his brows, letting his shirt fall off. Next went his pants and the rest. The water level rose as he sat besides Akashi, leaning his head back onto the wall.
“Cause I wanna finish this and get to sleep so I can no longer be tired and be able to go back to the hospital again!” Akashi rambled, staring straight at him.
Reaching to the side, Sasuke took a small towel and dipped it in the water, “Turn around.” He said as he faced Akashi.
Doing as he was told, Akashi turned around and placed his hands on the side of the tub, “Yes, yes~”
Inching closer, Sasuke lightly dragged the towel across the expanse of the redhead’s back, brushing his pale skin. He watched as the translucent drops slid down along his spine. Unable to resist the urge, he pressed his lips against the back of Akashi’s shoulder. Seeing that Akashi wasn’t saying anything, he pulled back and placed the towel on the side. Leaning forward, he wrapped his arms around the redhead’s middle, “Is there something on your mind?”
It was unusual of Akashi to be quiet, even when he was sleepy. He only got that way when he was thinking of something.
And that something was probably very important to him.
“I’m just… happy.”
That answer caught Sasuke off guard, “As am I…” He trailed off, tightening his arms around Akashi. Lightly turning to the side, he pressed his cheek against Akashi’s shoulder., “I’m very happy.”
“I’m glad.” Akashi whispered and Sasuke watched as he pulled his hand out of the water. His silver ring glinted under the bathroom lights, casting a bright shine. Sasuke raised his own and intertwined their fingers, before he pulled them to Akashi’s chest, tightly gripping his hand. Akashi said nothing else as he laid the back of his head atop Sasuke’s shoulder, his crimson locks sticking to their wet skin.
Sasuke closed his eyes, enjoying the moment of silence. His heart drummed against his rib cage and he was positive that Akashi could feel it, just as he felt Akashi’s heart drum against their intertwined fingers.
_
Akashi stretched, allowing a yawn past his lips, “Just thinking about a bed makes me more slrrpy.” He spoke, peering to the side. Sasuke was besides the bed, hands holding the covers as he shifted them. It may be spring, but the air wasn’t warm enough for them to not use covers. Momentarily thinking of the pros and cons about his next actions, he stood still. The moment Sasuke straightened up, he lunged forward and jumped at Sasuke. The momentum knocked the other man atop the bed and Akashi followed suit, arms wrapping around his shoulders.
“Must you always be like this?” He heard Sasuke’s question, but he didn’t move away from him.
Instead, he just leaned back with a silly grin stretching his lips, “You’d be bored if I wasn’t like this.” He confidently said, earning himself a light smile in return.
Not expecting Sasuke to move, Akashi almost fell off him when the man sat up, “I also wouldn’t love you if you weren’t like that.” Sasuke’s hands took a hold of his waist, lightly pressing his fingers into the skin under his shirt.
How romantic~
Akashi leaned forward, “I know~” he whispered, inches away from his lips, before he pulled back, “Let’s sleep!” He placed his hands atop Sasuke’s shoulders, grinning from ear to ear. He noticed that Sasuke looked visibly disappointed, “Don’t give me that face!” He whined out, wiggling atop his lap.
“What face?” Sasuke asked, playing dumb.
How dare he… “You know what face!” He also knew that Akashi couldn’t resist when he did that.
“I have absolutely no idea what you’re talk-” Sasuke couldn’t even finish his sentence as Akashi’s lips pressed onto his own and the two of them fell back on the bed.
Akashi pinched Sasuke’s cheek and pulled back, “Happy?” He whispered, staring down at him.
“Very.” Sasuke replied, amusement shinning in his onyx irises.
Snorting, Akashi let himself roll off Sasuke, instead choosing to peel himself to his side, “Sleep?” He asked, arm curling over Sasuke’s stomach.
“Sleep.” Sasuke easily agreed, turning towards him.

A few hours later, the two of them were already back at the hospital. They were greeted by a very awake Karin and a very giggly Yahan, “Who’s my baby boy~?” Akashi wiggled his fingers at him, causing yet another giggle to leave Yahan’s plump lips.
You weren’t this cute as a baby.
Shut up, of course I was! Akashi bit back, lightly offended by Kurama’s words.
No way. This little one is the embodiment of cuteness, you were nowhere near his level~ Kurama sounded like he was having fun teasing him, which was probably true.
Why’d he get stuck with an ungrateful fox like that? Stupid fox…
You know I can hear everything you think, right? Who’s stupid now?
“You’re scaring Yahan with an expression like that.” Sasuke joked from the side.
Akashi blinked, noticing that Yahan had grown silent. The baby was looking at him in something akin to confusion, so Akashi immediately grinned, “Aw, sorry little one~ Papa was having trouble with an old geezer.”
… An old geezer?! Kurama yelled inside his mind.
It was finally his time to be offended.
Aren’t you like… very old? Sage of Six Paths old?
Somehow, that shut Kurama up.
Akashi almost laughed out loud.
“Is it the fox again?” Sasuke inched closer to him, not tearing his eyes away from the baby in front of them.
Huffing, Akashi turned to him, “He said I wasn’t as cute as Yahan when I was a child.”
A sharp exhale left Sasuke, “What? You were a very cute kid,” the man said, leaning onto his palm, “Unfortunately, even as it pains me to agree with the fox, Yahan beats you in the cuteness department.”
Even more offended, Akashi moved away and clung onto Karin, “Karin~” he whined, “They are ganging up on me, that’s not fair! What did I ever do to them?!”
The woman shook her head, red tresses of hair sliding across her shoulders, “Don’t worry, you’re the cutest…” she spoke, making Akashi light up, “unless we count Yahan.”
Pulling away from her, he threw his arms in the air, “Traitor! I thought we Uzumakis stuck together!” He pointed at her, completely forgetting how much he was against someone pointing at people.
The door of the hospital room slid open and in walked Naruto along with Sakura and Kakashi, “We’re here!” Naruto declared, walking ahead.
With wide eyes, Akashi dashed forward, wrapping his arms around him, “Naruto, I’m your brother right?!” He asked, looking straight into Naruto’s eyes.
“Well, yeah?” Confused, that was the only thing that left Naruto’s lips.
“Okay! Tell me, is Yahan cuter than me when I was small?” He leaned closer, almost brushing noses with Naruto.
Even more confused, Naruto lightly inched back, creating some distance between their faces. He blinked, casting a brief look at Yahan, before he glanced back at Akashi, “Sorry, he beats you.” He answered without a second thought.
Crestfallen, Akashi met eyes with Sakura, but she just shook her head. The only one left was Kakashi, “Sensei, I’m your cute little student, right? You called all of us that before, right?” He practically begged with his eyes.
“Sorry, the baby wins.” The silver-haired man answered in a heartbeat.
You’re so dumb, how did I get stuck with you?
Shut it, you oversized teddy bear.
Don’t compare me to a be-
Akashi blocked out the rest of his words, harshly pouting, “Not fair!” He huffed, turning away from everyone.
“You’re unbelievable.” Sasuke spoke from across the room, making his way towards him. Akashi didn’t look in his direction, still bitter about his defeat. Warm lips pressed against his cheek, “You’re the cutest.” The whispered words followed immediately after.
He whipped around and wrapped his arms around Sasuke’s shoulders, “Sasuke~” He whined into his shoulder as he wiggled on his feet.
The onlookers could do nothing but watch their interaction.
_
“It’s a nice sight, eh?” Karin asked, causing Sakura to look towards her.
The redhead was looking in Akashi’s and Sasuke’s direction with both happiness and envy mixed it, “It is.” It really was. Before, when she was young and stupid, she expected herself and Sasuke to end up like that. Build a happy little family of their own. But, as she looked at the two men, together, she couldn’t help but feel her heart soar with joy.
“I’m very happy for them and I’m happy I was able to be the cause of their happiness.” Sakura noticed Karin shift on the bed and she immediately helped her prop the pillow up, “Thank you.”
Sakura shook her head, “There’s no need for you to thank me.” A light smile curled up her lips and she saw Karin’s eyes widen at the sight of it, before the redhead turned away, “Is something the matter?” Sakura asked, staring down at her.
The other woman had gripped the covers, “Nothing…” Karin trailed off, slightly peering at Sakura, “Everything is perfect.” Her crimson irises bore straight into Sakura’s emerald ones.
Perfect?
Her heart drummed inside her chest.
