The guy let out a mocking laugh. “You? Kill me? Let’s see you try!” He lunged at the three of them. They jumped away and Sasuke used a technique while in air. He breathed out balls of fire at the enemy. He dodged all of them. As he was falling down, Akashi did hand signs. Wind Release: Air Current Wild Dance! The dust around them raised up, obscuring their vision. Sasuke was okay since he could use Sharingan and Akashi can sense Chakra.

The enemy, seeing that he was overpowered, turned around and made a run for it. As Sasuke and Akashi chased after him, they heard Naruto yelling. Sasuke threw a kunai, slashing the rope with which Naruto was bound with. As Sasuke did that, the enemy threw kunai at him. Sasuke went under a branch and the kunai impaled it. There was an exploding tag on one of them. The branch exploded and Sasuke was thrown to the ground, luckily, landing on his feet.

The ninja appeared behind him and was about to hit him, but Akashi dashed forward and kicked his hurt arm. The ninja jumped away. Naruto appeared and jumped down. Sasuke used Chakra and grabbed a kunai with the soles of his feet, throwing it at the ninja. The ninja dodged out of the way, but Sasuke jumped after him. Akashi followed suit. The two of them managed to impale the ninja on their kunai’s. Sasuke got the front and Akashi got the back shoulder, the same one he hit before.

Blood splattered on Sasuke’s face. They separated and the ninja jumped away, disappearing into the trees. “Is anyone hurt?! Naruto!?” Akashi asked as he jumped over to him. Naruto shook his head, making Akashi sigh in relief. He then turned to Sasuke just in time to see him wipe the blood of his face. He missed a spot. “Sasuke”. He said and the said boy turned his way. Akashi pointed at his own chin and Sasuke got the message, sending him a nod as he wiped the blood away.

The four of them then settled in a circle and discussed a password for when they get separated. If an enemy transforms into one of them again. Akashi sensed a Chakra signal coming from the ground, but one look from Sasuke told him he got something planned. Sasuke said the password and everyone got it except Naruto, not surprising. They stood up and Sasuke said that he will take the scroll. Akashi suddenly straightened up and looked at a direction. “Someone is here”. He said and after a moment, a huge wave of wind was sent their way.

Sasuke and Akashi jumped behind a bush and got separated from the others. Hearing coughing, the two of the turned around and saw Sakura. When she approached them, Sasuke demanded a password. She said the correct one and then Naruto appeared. “Hey, everyone, are you okay?” He asked as he approached them. “That’s not Naruto!” Akashi said as he threw a kunai at him. Fake Naruto dodged to the side, falling to the ground.

“I didn’t ask the password yet!” Sakura yelled as she began to approach Fake Naruto. “Sakura!” Akashi growled out and she froze. “His Chakra is different from the real Naruto’s”. Sakura still didn’t look convinced. “Sakura, he was right the last time”. Sasuke added and that made her step away from Fake Naruto. “Show yourself, you faker”. Sasuke called out to him. Fake Naruto smiled creepily and disappeared in a poof of smoke, in his place was the forked tongue guy from before the exam started.

“That’s an unique ability, Chakra Sensing”. The man said, tongue flashing in and out like a snake’s tongue. Akashi ignored that. “Where’s Naruto?” He demanded. The man smirked. “Don’t worry about him, he’s having fun~”. Akashi glared at him. The man took out his scroll, which was the Earth one, which they needed and swallowed it. Akashi watched in disgust as his throat bobbed up and down, signaling that the scroll passed through.

When the three of them looked the man in the eye, they were sent to the ground in fear. Akashi stumbled on his feet and tried to grab something to hold him up, but he failed and was sent on his backside. The other two were no better. What the hell was that? Terror ran up and down his spine in loops. What just happened? Fear? Was that his killing intent? Akashi looked up at the man, he was just standing there, looking at them.

Getting his senses together, he was about to get up to his feet, but stopped when he noticed Sakura shaking. He looked at her and saw that she was also crying. Damn it! This guy is dangerous, but Naruto is missing and I don’t know what happened to him! Akashi forced his body to move and he somehow got up, albeit on shaky knees. “Oh? One stood up”. The man said in delight. “Sasuke, get up, now”. He said, not looking away from the man.

Sasuke reached for his kunai with shaking hands and struggled to his feet, but he stood up. “What are you going to do with that?” The man asked, looking at the kunai Sasuke was holding. The said boy froze and didn’t move. “Relax, I’ll end it in a flash, you won’t have to suffer”. The man said as he walked over to them, just a few feet away. He raised his hand, holding three kunai, and threw them.

Akashi raised his hand, kunai in it, and barely managed to deflect one of them. And he watched the other two. Suddenly, Sasuke stabbed his own leg and grabbed Sakura, jumping away. Akashi quickly followed after them. They hid behind a huge tree and he watched Sasuke rip out the kunai from his leg, blood spewing out. He came closer and raised his shaking hands over the wound. “I’m sorry, I can only stop the bleeding”. He apologized in advance, seeing that the boy was in pain.

“That’s enough”. The Uchiha said. He looked at the glowing shaking hands and the fear on the other boy’s face. He figured that he was scared for Naruto. The green glow receded and Akashi sat down, exhaling in relief. Just as they thought they were safe, a huge snake appeared next to them. “Snake!” Sakura screamed and the three of them jumped away, narrowly escaping a bite.

The snake lunged at Sasuke and he and Akashi threw shurikens at its head. The snake fell down, lifeless. They fell onto a branch, panting, out of breath. The snake’s skin started breaking and the man from before started rising from inside it. “Prey need to strain their minds all the time, and run around…”. He raised his slimy head. “in the presence of a predator”. He finished, tongue slapping around.

The man jumped out, he started wrapping his body around the tree Sasuke was, just like a snake. Sasuke let out a yell and a kunai and shuriken were stabbed in front of the snake-man. “Sorry, Sasuke!” Naruto’s voice rang out from over their heads. They raised their heads to look at him. “Naruto!” Akashi screamed, relief flooding his senses at seeing his brother unhurt. “I forgot the password”. He said, a smile on his face.

“Naruto, run! This guy is way above our level!” Sasuke yelled at Naruto, Sharingan still active. “Looks like you defeated that snake, Naruto-kun”. Snake-guy said gleefully. A snake?! Akashi turned to glare at the man. “You sent a snake at him?! And don’t call him Naruto-kun!” He yelled at him. Snake-guy just watched him in amusement. “Wait!” Sasuke suddenly said. He reached into his pouch and pulled out their scroll. “I’ll give you the scroll”. He raised it up. “Please, take this and leave us in peace”. He told the man.

Naruto tried to retaliate, but Sasuke shut him up. Sasuke threw the scroll to the man, but Naruto jumped and caught it, landing next to Sasuke. Akashi moved and jumped down to the two of them. “Don’t butt in! Don’t you understand the situation that you’re in?!” Sasuke yelled at him and Naruto did something nobody expected, he whipped his fist back and hit Sasuke, making him jump to another branch. “Naruto!” Akashi yelled as he witnessed what happened.

“You… What are you doing?!” Sasuke asked, outraged. Naruto started saying how this Sasuke must be a fake one because the Sasuke he knows isn’t a coward and an idiot. He also said that there is no guarantee that the man will let them go even if they give him the scroll. “You’re correct, I’ll just have to kill you to take the scroll”. The man said as he raised his arm, there were markings on it.

Naruto dashed at him. “Naruto! You idiot!” Akashi tried to catch him, but he slipped through his fingers. The man did some hand-signs and a strong wind arose, knocking Naruto away. Then, the man was standing on a huge snake. The snake whipped forward and almost hit Naruto, but instead slammed into a tree, completely obliterating it. A moment later, the snake hit the branch on which Naruto was standing on, breaking it, with its tail.

Naruto started falling down and the snake opened its mouth, ready to eat him. “Naruto!” Akashi yelled and dashed forward, but faltered when he felt his body grow hot. He fell on a nearby branch, on his hands and knees. W-What? This feels like… that time… He raised his head and watched Naruto, who was about to be eaten. He suddenly flipped in the air and slammed his foot on the snake, jumping away. His eyes were red. The Nine-Tails… but why is it happening to me too? Are they connected?

Naruto continued hitting the snake, but the man on top threw a fireball at him, making him fly away. He hit a branch and fell on his back. Akashi struggled on his feet, his body felt like it was on fire. Stop it! He desperately screamed in his mind, but it got worse and worse. His heartbeat was so strong, he felt it shake his body with each beat. “Set me free”. A gravelly voice growled from inside his mind. Huh? Is this… “Let it out”. The voice continued inside his mind, ignoring him.

“I… will… not!” He forced the words out and stood up. “The more you struggle, the worse it will feel”. “Shut up!” He grabbed his head as it started throbbing. “You need my power”. It said. “I do not!” Akashi replied, trying to force the feeling down. “Are you sure? Look in front of you”. Akashi raised his head just in time to see Naruto holding back the snake from Sasuke and just in time to see the man grab Naruto, raising him up with his tongue.

The man’s fingers lit up in a purple light and he raised Naruto’s shirt, showing a black seal on his stomach. He slammed the fingers on his skin and markings appeared around the seal. “You don’t want to save him?” The Nine-Tails taunted. Naruto’s eyes closed and he fell limp. The man reached inside Naruto’s pouch and took the scroll. “Naruto!” Akashi screamed as the world around him exploded in a blast of red.
