zhanghao informed his best friend wanyi who had to use the bathroom first
wanyi nodded and zhanghao left her by the washroom door and headed towards the court
she looked at herself in the mirror making sure to look good in front of ricky

she fixed her hairclip, brushed her hair and re-applied her lip gloss
practicing her smile as her dimples popped out and left the washroom and went to the court excitedly
the black haired girl opened the door which access to the basketball court
her eyes trailed around the huge indoor court with polished wooden floor looking for a specific person
the person in question is quite easy to spot considering he has bright lock of hair
on the other side of the hoop were some guys practicing their shooting skills and on the closer side of wanyi were some guys casually dribbling their basketballs while some were just chit-chatting on the floor
and there he was..
wanyi’s prince charming with the white hair who wore a bright blue jersey and headbands around his forehead
he still looks so beautiful and majestic and the determined face he made released some butterflies in her stomach
he effortlessly dribbled the ball, moving with grace and skill, making every shot look like a work of art
the sight of him on the court only intensified her feelings, leaving her in awe of his talent and appearance
with unwavering focus, he released the ball, and it soared through the air in a perfect arc and went right in the hoop
he never misses
“woah.. ” she mumbled
“wanwan!” someone called her name and wanyi quickly turned her head looking for the sound of the voice
it was zhanghao sitting on the bleachers with some of his friends
she had never seen them but they seemed familiar to her are they the guys from the groupchat?
wanyi smiled and ran towards the bleachers not even noticing there was a basketball flying straight onto her direction and hit her hardly on the head
wanyi fell on the floor with a loud thud and zhanghao snorted at the sight of his friend getting hit by a basketball

she mumbled and rubbed a specific spot on her head
“holy shit you alright? im so sorry“
a voice said and wanyi could sense the concerned person who was running towards her apologizing profusely
“it’s ok im fine” she struggled to make out her words with a head so dizzy
she squinted her eyes at the boy who crouched down to look at her closely

“no not really” the boy said and chuckled lightly
the accident brought them face to face, and in that moment, wanyi saw him clearly for the first time
the boy had dark fluffy hair and big doe eyes looking straight into her soul with eyes full of genuine remorse
wanyi compared his stare with ricky’s and his gaze was much softer than the stares ricky used to give her
he looks like a penguin
the boy laughed nervously and wanyi did the same “i’ll be fine”
wanyi held onto his hands which he held out for her and she could finally stand up straight; she then came to realise how tall that motherfucker was

“it’s ok dont worry about it” wanyi smiled reassuringly at him with a thumbs up

ricky smoothly released the ball, its arc slicing through the air with precision, as if guided by an unseen hand
his trademark smirk played on his lips as he observed gyuvin and jeonghyeon, who watched him intently from the sidelines
amidst the rhythmic thud of the ball against the court, a familiar voice pierced the atmosphere “wanwan!”
ricky glanced over at hao and to the girl who he just noticed was standing by the door and was heading towards the bleachers
he didn’t react in any way and continued dribbling when he heard a loud thud and ricky turned his head to the direction where he heard the sound from
it seems jingxiang had accidentally hit wanyi with his basketball
ricky and gyuvin who were standing side by side laughed at the sight
gyuvin went back to practising his shooting but ricky couldn’t take his eyes off jingxiang and wanyi interacting
are they having a moment? tsk
he shrugged inwardly, feigning disinterest as he continued to dribble, his eyes surreptitiously tracking their conversation
as jingxiang helped wanyi to her feet, ricky couldn’t help but observe their interaction, a hint of suspicion creasing his brow
but then gyuvin’s voice cut through the air, disrupting the fleeting moment between the two calling the boy back in the game
“jingxiang get back here we don’t have all day!”
mr kowalski came running back with a smile
“what was all that” ricky scoffed and jingxiang continued smiling
“ayy what was thatt” gyuvin smiled and teased him by nudging his shoulder at him

after a long hour the players divided themselves into two groups for a practice match
the players for each team were picked anonymously resulting gyuvin and jingxiang to be in the other side of the team leaving ricky and jeonghyeon in the other team
the match began and when ricky had possession over the ball jingxiang blocked him on the way and ricky purposefully nudged jingxiang while dodging, hint of aggression in his actions
after few rounds ricky questioned himself why he’s always especially targetting jingxiang by pushing him harshly and “accidentally” kicking him
“bro can you stOP!”
“huh?” ricky feigned innocence, his laughter ringing hollow as they retreated to the benches
“purposefully pushing and kicking me”
“oh…sorry, it was an accident.” ricky laughed away half heartedly as the two sat on the benches

in a burst of determination, wanyi dashed towards the boys, her heart pounding with anticipation
“hi rickyy wow you were amazing out there” she complimented, her smile faltering slightly under ricky’s questioning gaze
“you must be tired” she continued extending a water bottle to him “here!”
ricky hesitated, his initial reluctance warring with the undeniable thirst parching his throat
with a sharp grab, he snatched the bottle and tore it open, gulping down the cool liquid with fervor
his abrupt gesture didn’t deter wanyi, who beamed at him with unwavering warmth
she looked over to the bleachers to see her friends who excitedly gave her a thumbs up
ricky puffed out his breath in relief after drinking half of the bottle
wanyi’s gaze lingered on him, her eyes tracing the contours of his profile, captivated by his every movement
she couldn’t help but marvel at his beauty
“do you feel a lot better?”
she inquired softly, tilting her head in earnest curiosity but ricky looked at her oddly, rising abruptly before wordlessly retreating back onto the court to resume play
“oh damn- at least he took it” she mumbled in slight disappointment
“hIYA WANWAN“ suddenly, she was startled by the boisterous greeting of gyuvin
“oh hey- what do you want” wanyi replied, caught off guard by his sudden intrusion
“rude!” gyuvin teased, his playful tone ringing through the air
“oh hi jingxiang!” wanyi averted her eyes towards jingxiang and smiled, waving at him “hey! we meet again wanyi“ he smiled back
“you can just call me wanwan” she smiled
“oh ok! if that’s fine with you” jingxiang smiled shyly surprised at how friendly wanyi is even though they only met like few minutes ago
“y’all won’t even know each other if it wasn’t for you to get hit on the head by jingxiang” gyuvin chuckled
“gyuvin you’re just hallucinating”
“this is dumbass lee, in case ya’ll haven’t met” gyuvin gestured his hands towards the black haired boy who had a towel above his head
jeonghyeon then glared at gyuvin “it’s genius lee you fucker” he muttered before looking back at the girl with a small smile “hello, im lee jeonghyeon”
“nice to meet you” wanyi smiled back at the boy
“would you guys like some water?”
“i’d appreciate it.. wanwan” jingxiang beamed a bright smile which was quickly returned by her
“damn! im literally right here? im more tired than all of y’all bitchass“ gyuvin interjected, his playful whine drawing laughter from the group

ricky glanced over at the guys and wanyi who were chatting and seemed quite.. happy
he hated that she’s everywhere and anywhere he goes

a ball was passed to him and without even aiming at the hoop he tossed it but the ball still entered the hoop
he cant miss it basically
zhanghao and the other guys sitting on the bleachers howled and clapped their hands when the ball went in and ricky smiled proudly
yet, as he glanced towards the benches, expecting to catch wanyi’s admiration, he was met with the sight of her engrossed in conversation with gyuvin, jeonghyeon, and jingxiang
disappointment flickered across his features
was she not looking at the beautiful shot i just made
ricky rolled his eyes and played a mini match with the other players in the court
