Chapter 7: The Tinder Project

Germ layer detection is a method for distinguishing between humans and different species in the last generation.

In the 18th century Holocene, human beings put forward the germ layer theory from the research of chicken egg hatching and slug fish, thinking that vertebrates at that time were composed of three germ layers: inner, middle and outer.

Bone, blood and connective tissue, the ectoderm covers the first two germ layers and the complex life structures are wrapped and connected with skin sacs and nerves to form various life individuals.

This theory was established for nearly 600 years, until the emergence of archaea and Xenogeneic species.

When human biologists stripped the living body of the xenogeneic species in the last era, they found that there are other invisible cells migrating outside the ectoderm of the xenogeneic species. They are close to the components of the archaea. They can endow life with new abilities through fission and recombination, so that the mesoderm and ectoderm undergo great changes.

These power cells are divided by humans and are called heteroblasts.

Lin Xi was quickly pulled from the ground and taken to the east side of the village.

He was still suffering from abdominal pain and every step he took was like suffering.

Gu Yang, who was escorting him, saw him, so he simply lifted the person up with one hand so that this person would not walk so arduously.

But when he got close, he seemed to smell the smell of dead wood.

This smell is like a piece of tree root dug out of the ground and put on display in the showroom, showing an old, dry and aging smell after experiencing a century of wind, frost, and rain.

Gu Yang was stunned for a moment, cocked his nose and sniffed around.

He has not yet determined where the smell came from, the open space on the east side has arrived.

At this time, there were not only the soldiers on the other side, but also a group of civilians. There were twenty-six of them in total, all dressed in ge-colored clothes.

When Mu Yechen and his party came over, the group of people turned their attention to the commander and the soldiers behind him,  some of them looked at Lin Xi.

Mu Yechen closed the eyes of the group of people.

“Let’s start.” He asked Lin Xi to be held in front of the instrument.

Scanning light waves began to be emitted from the instrument.

Luo Xiaowei couldn’t be idle, he stared at Guangbo and the people in Guangbo, hugged his chest and muttered: “Head, I think your judgment is right. This man’s face is so white, his arms and legs are so thin, he is not a normal person at first glance. How can humans who live outside these years have such fine skin and tender meat.”

As if to verify his statement, the heteroblast map in the instrument showed a violent up and down fluctuation that only an infected person would have.

Seeing this, Cang Jie loaded the gun in his hand and aimed it at the back of Lin Xi’s head.

Infected people are a threat to human beings. According to the regulations of the other side, they must be eliminated once they are found.

Lin Xi didn’t seem to notice the muzzle behind him, he raised his head with difficulty and his eyes were fixed on the map.

The band of the spectrum twitched a second time, then began to flatten out gradually extending into a long and straight line until the spectrum becomes dark.

“The germ layer test is completed, the number of infected people is 0 and no one has undergone heteroblast evolution. The test object is judged to be a normal human.”

The wind picked up again on the open field, a thin layer of sand rolled up under the setting sun and the coarse gravel swept across the scene.

The bullet was ready to be fired in the chamber and the result was detected, but Cang Jie was stunned.

    He felt a little weird.

“He’s actually a human?” Luo Xiaowei was also shocked, “There was a fluctuation just now, is the instrument broken?”

In order to verify, he pulled Gu Yang over to test.

A minute later, Gu Yang’s test report came out. The third-generation mutants possessed artificial heteroblasts and they were determined to be exactly the same as before.

    – The instrument is not faulty.

This time the soldiers present looked at each other, retracted their weapons hesitantly and looked at their commander.

The commander was still examining Lin Xi, he stared at the other side’s thin back for a while then suddenly spoke.

    “Do you know him?”

He asked the civilians in the clearing.

    Lin Xi’s body stiffened.

The civilians did not expect that these officers would ask questions. They looked at each other with confusion and fear  in their eyes.

But soon, someone stood up from behind the clearing.

“I know him.” The one who stood up was a young man whose complexion was tanned by the scorching sun all the year round. He had bright and big eyes, wearing a vest and a collar was hung around his neck.

Seemingly aware of the superior’s disbelief, he grinned, revealing his neat white teeth: “He is afraid of life and rarely goes out. People in our place call him a white mouse, meaning he can’t see the sun.”

Mu Yechen heard the words and soon he saw a tatoo on the boy’s arm, with a long ring-shaped disk-shaped totem drawn.

“Who are you?” Luo Xiaowei, who was behind him, asked back.

The young man said: “I am the shaman Moraka of our village.”

    “Ah what…Sa, shaman?”

“Yes, we believe in fire and serve the dragon god. Here are all the people protected by the dragon god.”

Several captains of the regular army on the other side shut up and looked at each other.

They found themselves as if they were aware of the difference in the village.

——The villagers’ clothes here are all of the same color, with a long worm embroidered on them.

At the end of the century, human beings have been squeezed for survival. In order to escape the cruelty of reality, many people will pin their hearts on fictional beliefs.

The village in front of him looks weak and small, so it is not surprising that there is such a spiritual sustenance.

It’s just that the long worms on these people’s clothes always remind people of the alien species that were cut into pieces in the earthen fort.

What’s even more surprising is that there are obviously Xenogeneic species in this village and no one was infected by archaea during the on-site inspection.

The twenty-six villagers are all ordinary people, including the “white rat” who wears the same clothes.

Mu Yechen was silent, he suspended his suspicion of Lin Xi and let these villagers get on the truck that transported the soldiers.

This village is not only located on the ultimate road of the beast tide but also near where they installed the Kun whale inducing sound wave device. Just in case, he can only take these people out of here.

He asked the soldiers to urge the villagers to get into the car. While Cang Jie, the captain of the medical team, led the people to deal with the aliens in the fort.

“Commander, we dealt with Xenomorph corpses and found this thing.” Cang Jie took out a sealed bag, which contained a piece of blood.

“The location chip in the laboratory?” Mu Yechen froze.

“Yes.” Cang Jie replied affirmatively, “It is said that in order to prevent mutants from getting out of control, the laboratory will plant this kind of chip in their chest cavity. Unless the mutant dies, it is impossible to drop this kind of chip.

” If the chip is dropped, it means that the mutants have been disemboweled, so naturally they will not survive.

    Mu Yechen narrowed his eyes.

“Commander, I still think there is something wrong with that person.” Cang Jie replied.

The two fell silent, and Mu Yechen couldn’t help but search for Lin Xi’s figure in the crowd.

Lin Xi was lining up to get on the bus. He moved very slowly, a little slower than a normal human speed, he seemed that he could fall over with a blow.

Mu Yechen frowned. For some reason, he felt that Lin Xi’s back was very familiar.

Under his gaze, Lin Xi slowly climbed onto the back of the truck. Every time he moved, a layer of cold sweat broke out. Fortunately, someone was there to help him when he got in the car.

He was stunned and couldn’t help but look up.

A young man smiled at him in the setting sun and the sun shone on his bronzed skin, making his smile full of youth and health.

“White mouse.” The person who helped him greeted him, a young man who called himself a shaman, Moraka.

Lin Xi hesitated for a moment, but took advantage of the situation to get on the car support.

“Thank you.” He thought about it and responded.

“You’re welcome, the village of Gaia is the resting place for all travelers. The dragon god blesses the human beings here. If the teacher is here, he will do the same.”

Moraka grinned and gave Lin Xi another place. .

    Lin Xi was stunned.

At this time, other villagers got into the car. When they saw Moraka, they greeted him with a smile and respectfully walked away.

Soon, the carriage was filled with other people. Without a word, only the young shaman left the empty space for Lin Xi.

    “…”

This time Lin Xi didn’t say thank you.

But at this moment, the soldier in front suddenly started the engine, causing the truck body to vibrate twice.

Lin Xi staggered suddenly and fell on the side of the car support.

“Are you all right?” Moraka hurriedly reached out to help.

    “No.”

Lin Xi stopped him instantly, and staggered into the seat vacated by the other party.

Outside the car, the army on the other side began to withdraw. In the sunset of the evening, a transport truck and two off-road jeeps started a long journey, running over the sand and gravel, leaving a long trail of tires and a village that was about to be abandoned.

Behind the village, a thick smoke rises at the junction of heaven and earth.

That’s the direction of the bunker.

Moraka looked back at the thick smoke, and there was a trace of unbearable in his eyes, but he soon laughed again.

“White mouse, you don’t need to be so afraid of me, I won’t hurt you.”

    Lin Xi said nothing.

What he needs most now is to endure the unbearable abdominal pain. Only when his body recovers can he easily snatch the means of transport from this group of regular soldiers.

Although he is dying, the life in his stomach cannot die.

He wants to snatch freedom and go to an oasis without human beings with a lingering hope.

But Moraka didn’t understand what Lin Xi was thinking. He sat next to Lin Xi’s seat and asked, “White mouse, are you from the outside? Have you already seen aliens?”

Lin Xi raised his eyelashes slightly, then closed it again coldly.

He has not only seen, but also killed a lot.

But he didn’t speak, but Moraka thought that Lin Xi had never seen it.

So, he asked again: “White mouse, are you afraid of aliens?”

“…” Lin Xi still didn’t answer.

“Then do you know why there are aliens?” Moraka continued to ask.

The only response to Moraka was the roar of the truck’s engine.

    Moraka: “…”

He found that the new white mouse was not very good at talking.

The car bumped twice, the boy sighed and leaned his back against the rail.

“Xenogeneic species are created by archaea. Those infected with archaea and surviving are xenogeneic species and those who do not survive are evolutionary losers. The teacher said that archaea is a gift from God to life. It hit the planet in the southern hemisphere three hundred years ago, it not only brought destruction and brought new life. It’s a pity that our entire group belongs to the losers of evolution.”

Lin Xi remained silent, but his downcast eyes glanced at the young man.

“Human consciousness is too complicated. We are greedy, suspicious, and tyrannical, and we cannot stand the rude fusion of archaea. In this disaster, human beings are creatures destined to be eliminated by the world… But all this happened unexpectedly.”

The teenager looked into the distance and smiled: “We can’t evolve into a different species, but we can use our wisdom to create a different species.”

    Lin Xi’s eyes slowly opened.

Moraka didn’t pay attention, he looked up and watched the last wisp of smoke from the village disappear before his eyes.

“Twenty years ago, the teacher discovered that children with unenlightened consciousness could survive archaeal infections longer. So he participated in the Tinder program at that time and threw a thousand unattended children into the forest full of archaea , he wanted to see if there are children who can evolve heteroblasts.” He said, making a pious gesture on his chest.

“God did not abandon us, he created the first human Xenogeneic.”
