You and Jade were lying in her bed, both with your eyes closed. You could hear Jade’s gentle breaths in and out, feeling the covers over you move ever so slightly with each rise and fall of her chest.
She had been fast asleep for about half an hour.
Seeing her this calm and peaceful was a new experience for you. You had a feeling she didn’t let many people in this close, which made you appreciate the moment even more.
You, however, were not asleep. You couldn’t sleep after today. There was too much on your mind, too many thoughts keeping you awake.
You and Jade had talked for hours about everything and anything. You were elated when she asked you to stay the night; it must mean she likes you, even if just a little.
You turned over, now facing away from Jade, still deep in thought.
Jade was everything you wanted, perfect for you in every way, but she was still in love with Beck. When you were together, everything felt right, and you had to work hard not to blush every time you spoke to her.
While lost in thought, you felt the bed shift.
You heard Jade shuffle around next to you, likely trying to find a comfortable position.
After a few seconds, the movement stopped. Just when you thought she was done, you felt her arm snake around your hip. She was now spooning you.
You froze, the sudden contact surprising you immensely.
It took you a few seconds to calm down and relax.
Once your heartbeat slowed and you could finally breathe again, you let yourself savor the moment.
This could be the first and last time this happened, so you wanted to enjoy every second.
Her hand fit perfectly, like it was made to hold you, to take care of you.
She snuggled even closer, moving a bit before resting her head near your neck.
Her breath on your neck gave you goosebumps.
This was all you wanted, all you needed, for her to be this close to you.
You felt so safe that, without realizing it, you fell asleep within minutes.

Your eyes opened slowly. You rubbed the sleepiness from your eyes, trying to look around.
It took a moment to figure out where you were, your eyes still blurry from just waking up.
Before you could gather your thoughts, someone walked in.
“Morning, my little teddy bear,” Jade said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Your eyebrow raised in confusion. Did you even want to know what she was talking about?
Curiosity got the better of you, and you asked anyway.
“What are you talking about?”
She laughed. “Nothing, I just woke up with you literally lying on top of me.”
Heat rose to your cheeks.
This couldn’t be happening right now.
You wanted to make a comment about her cuddling you in bed last night while she was asleep, but you knew she’d just retort, asking why you let her. That you probably liked it too.
You were basically helpless.
“Don’t lie,” you said.
“I wish I was lying,” she replied.
Your mouth dropped open in shock. You couldn’t tell if she was serious or joking, but if she was serious, you’d be really, really embarrassed.
She laughed again. “I’m just kidding, Liv. Now close your mouth, you’ll catch flies,” she said.
Before you knew it, she walked closer, grabbed your chin, and closed your mouth for you.
All you could think was, “That was the hottest thing ever.”
