Êœ°Á´€Á´‹Á´‡?- Á´Šá´€Á´…Á´‡ Á´¡Á´‡Êœ±Á´› 20| how?

A+ A-

Days seemed to melt into one another, the passage of time blurring as sleepless nights stretched endlessly.

The heartbreak you were feeling wasn’t something you had ever experienced before, and it was certainly something you never wanted to endure again.

Your heart ached for Jade, every part of you yearning for her in a way that was almost unbearable.

She was all you needed, the only person who could fill the void that had taken root in your chest.

Things had slowly begun to get easier, at least, that’s what you kept telling yourself.

But school had a way of pulling you back into the pain, undoing whatever progress you had made.

Seeing Jade and Beck together always sent a sharp pang through your stomach, the kind that made you want to look away but couldn’t.

Normally, you weren’t one to get jealous, but seeing them together, so close, so comfortable, stirred emotions you couldn’t suppress.

It made you sick with envy, and it hurt even more to admit it.

Every kiss they shared, every casual touch between them.

It felt wrong, like it was Beck who was intruding on what should have been yours.

That connection, that closeness, those moments. They should have been with you, not him.

The situation only worsened when the news of their reconciliation spread like wildfire.

Everyone knew now.

The whole school seemed to be buzzing about Jade and Beck being back together, and you couldn’t escape it. You could not escape.

Thankfully, your friends and your sister had been there for you through it all.

Since the day Jade and Beck patched things up, they’d made sure you were never left alone with your thoughts for too long.

Not all of them knew the full story, that what you had with Jade wasn’t real, at least not for her.

For you, it had been real, painfully real, but to Jade, it had been some kind of act.

Even though they didn’t all know the truth, they did know how deeply you liked Jade, and that was enough for them to want to help.

They tried in small but meaningful ways to cheer you up.

Whether it was surprising you with your favourite coffee, or watching a movie with you, even if they had seen it a hundred times before.

It wasn’t the love you desperately wanted from Jade, but it was love nonetheless.

And in those little moments, surrounded by your friends, you felt a bit of the weight lift.

To be loved is to be known, and they knew you. In their own way, they were helping you stitch your heart back together, piece by piece.

With music playing through your noise-cancelling headphones, you walked through the crowded school hallways, the usual chatter around you drowned out.

You were feeling a little better than you had yesterday, and better than the days before that. It was a slow recovery, but today, the ache in your chest felt slightly less sharp.

But even with the music flooding your ears, two voices broke through the noise.

They were loud, almost yelling, and you couldn’t help but turn your head in their direction.

Jade and Beck were in an argument, their faces tense with frustration.

For a moment, you stopped, your curiosity piqued.

But before you could make out what they were saying, Beck grabbed Jade by the wrist and pulled her into the janitor’s closet, slamming the door behind them.

You felt a pang in your chest, but quickly shook it off.

Dwelling on whatever was happening between them wouldn’t do you any good.

You turned the volume up on your music, letting the sound drown out your thoughts, and continued on your way to class, already feeling the weight of exhaustion creeping back in.

The rest of the school day passed by in a haze.

You were so tired that it felt impossible to focus on anything.

Every class, every lecture, seemed to blur together, the words barely registering in your brain.

You caught yourself zoning out more than once, your thoughts drifting back to Jade, no matter how hard you tried to stop them.

Later, as you finally pulled out your phone, hoping for a distraction, you were met with a barrage of notifications from The Slap.

Dozens of posts about Jade and Beck flooded your feed. Photos of them together, comments about their rekindled relationship.

For fuck’s sake.

You sighed, closing the app in frustration.

How were you supposed to move on when her face, her name, her relationship were being plastered everywhere you looked?
