You and Chaeryeong were Best friends… But something felt wrong with that title now… Life after the whole “You’re Perfect” incident had become much more interesting after the small kiss she gave you.
That peck… Each time you think about that glorious memory, it fills your stomach with all types of butterflies. With all the sweetness you gathered from just the thought of the peck, you would probably have diabetes soon.
When you remember her soft lips touching your cheek, you were filled with a warmth that you couldn’t explain…It was fuzzy. It made your whole body tingle. It was amazing, to say the least.
All you know is that it’s the most beautiful feeling in the whole wide world.
After that small peck, the two of you have been hanging out or seeing each other more frequently. As the months passed by, you and Chaeryeong had become much closer, creating a bond that was even stronger than before. You guys often go on trips together, eat together, and even call each other almost every night. The two of you were basically inseparable now.
You two were definitely best friends, but you felt something incorrect about being just her closest friend. Each time you were with Chaeryeong, you could feel your heart accelerate. So fast, it felt like it was beating out of your chest.
When you are with her, you feel this type of coziness and comfort that no other girl makes you think. You would get lost in her eyes, staring into them as if they were filled with stars. Your heart would melt by one glance at her beautiful smile. Chaeryeong would always be running through your head, each daily object reminding you of her. She was on your mind 24/7, and you loved every moment of it.
You never felt this way for any other girl before. In your lifetime, you had dozens of crushes, but this one felt like more than just a simple crush. Your heart had never beaten this fast for any other person. Your smile never shined as bright to any other girl. Your eyes were only focused on her and her alone. Was it love that you were feeling?
Even if you were slowly catching feelings for the dancer, you tried to restrain yourself. She was completely out of your league. She was an idol. And you were just a backup dancer. Sure, you were trying to debut, but it was just a weird situation…
After you realized your low possible chance of being with the girl you dreamed of, you slowly tried to drift away from Chaeryeong, wanting to distance yourself before getting too attached.
But even with you distancing yourself… You felt yourself falling deeper into your feelings. It was almost like a hole you couldn’t escape. And the worst part is, Chaeryeong would always do something sweet that made you do a complete 180.
Whether it be hanging out or just a small smile, you feel your love become stronger… Even if you wanted to give up on her, you couldn’t. You eventually accepted you wouldn’t get over her soon, and tried to live your life to the fullest.

Today, after dance practice at JYP, Chaeryeong wanted to go to a local park and take some pictures with the new polaroid camera you bought her for Christmas.
When you first met Chaeryeong, you remember her talking about how she loved taking pictures, and since she wanted a Christmas present this year, you thought it would be the best gift for the young idol.
You two eventually made it to the local park, and the scenery was eye-catching. With the green trees and the blossoms of different colored flowers, it was a sight to see.
The weather was perfect. It was extremely hot and sunny, but instead it was a bright summer day with a constant breeze of fresh cold air. It was one of those days where you could actually enjoy being outside without being fried to a crisp.
You guys strolled through the park, admiring the park’s beauty. You two eventually made it to the center of the park, and stared in awe at the huge water fountain in the middle.
With the clear water it shot out, you looked over at Chaeryeong and she took pictures of the beautiful surroundings.
You watched as she checked over the photos she had taken, taking them out of the Polaroid, and vigorously shook them.
After a minute of instance shaking, with one glance her face is filled with a happy smile. She runs over and shows you, and you were impressed by the photo.
Chaeryeong: “Y/N!!! They’re pretty right?” she said excitedly about the photos she had taken.
Y/N: “Yep, ” you said, nodding your head in agreement. With a bright smile, she continues to take more pictures of her surroundings.
*Click* *Click*
Even though she was taking beautiful pictures of nature, you couldn’t help but laugh at the certain poses she was making to get the best angle. Whether it be hiding behind a tree, or laying down to get the nicest picture. She looked like a cute dork.
But even if she was a bit dorky, you couldn’t help but glance at her stunning face. With a warm smile protruding from her skin, you could tell she was truly happy.
Chaeryeong had a smile that told no lie. A smile that showed her truest emotions. Even if she was trying to hide something, her facial expressions could never fabricate an untruth. And today, in your eyes, she was truly happy, loving her life as a normal person and not as an idol.
You looked at her with a love filling gaze. You admired her, and couldn’t believe that you were so close to a perfect angel like her. With her hair blowing in the wind, she looked like a top-notch model.
Y/N: “Gosh… She really does look pretty as a picture…” you mutter to yourself, not loud enough for anyone to hear. You stare at her until you hear her call you over.
Chaeryeong: “Y/N!” she said, waving at you, gesturing to you to come towards her.
Y/N: “Hm?” you said, as you walked over towards her. You watched as she whipped out the camera and took a quick picture of you.
Chaeryeong: “Say cheese!” she said, a flash of light blocking your vision. And with that she took a picture.
She then proceeded to shake the polaroid, wanting to see the outcome as fast as possible. You stared at her and watched as she looked at the final outcome of her small surprises photoshoot, and with one look at the photo she burst into laughter.
Chaeryeong: “HAHAHAHA!” she laughed loudly.
Y/N: “What?” you said, quickly rushing over to see the picture she took.
You looked at the photo, and you stood there as stiff as a tree. You looked like fear had overtaken your whole body, making you look like a fool. You watched as she laughed loud, trying to stop but couldn’t.
You could feel your ears turn a shade of red, as the embarrassment fills your mind.
Y/N: “Chae?!?!” you screamed, slightly embarrassed.
Chaeryeong: “Hehehehe, why do you look so stiff,” she said, teasing you.
You try to grab the photo, wanting to throw it away, but Chaeryeong dodges.
Chaeryeong: “Nope!!!” she said as she quickly ran away. She was like the flash, moving so fast that you couldn’t keep up. You guys chased each other until the end of the day, and eventually we soon forgot about it, and she kept the picture.

Chaeryeong POV
You got home, and you looked at the photos you had taken with the Polaroid camera. With each picture, you were shocked by how many promising pictures you had taken, noticing that you had improved significantly.
From the beautiful shots of nature to the freedom of wildlife at the park, these pictures were better than any others you had taken. However, one picture stood out to you.
The picture of Y/N, standing as if he was scared for his life. He had no expression besides fears, but you didn’t know why but you liked it.
Not because it looked funny, but rather it filled your heart with warmth. You didn’t know why but you found the picture cute, even though nothing was going on.
He just made you smile, and you didn’t know why…
Chaeryeong: “Stupid…” you said, as you stared at the picture with loving eyes. You wish he would just understand how you felt, but you know him. Oblivious…
You grabbed your phone, and thought of something. Even though it might be a little cringe and corny. You placed the polaroid of him behind your phone case.
You didn’t know why you wanted to, but it just felt right. With this simple motion, it felt like you two were dating. And you honestly hope he asked you out soon, because you know what your answer would be.
