Here’s the supposed double update I had promised three days later lol. I’m so sorry. It’s a long chapter though so this should count as two!

“Anywayyyyy.” Lisa continued, rolling her eyes playfully at Jisoo for bragging yet again for snagging them such a nice building for all of them and letting them have the very nice, very expensive top floor. “Rich people always interrupting us peasants.”
Jisoo could have rent it out to a lucrative stock broking firm or lawyers, she’d overheard her on a call once that some of the best lawyers in Seoul wanted to take it but Jisoo declined. The building was in the heart of Seoul and the view was incredible. Lisa knew she was taking a pay cut by leasing it to Jennie instead.
Jisoo had only convinced Jennie to take it because Jisoo reasoned that it would help with the property taxes if her nonprofit was in the building.
“I’m just trying to cheat the system Jendeukie, take the deal and rent it out.” Jisoo said smirking, knowing Jennie would cave.
Jisoo had done her research so Jennie would just take it already and she found that helping with a charitable organization and giving them a rent discount allowed her to pay less in taxes so Jennie had no argument against her over how little Jisoo was asking for her to pay.
Lisa was incredibly grateful for Jisoo doing that despite their banter saying otherwise. Jisoo would brag about it all of the time and Lisa would banter back that she was being pompous and self righteous, neither of them meant it and they knew it was just to make Jennie feel better.
The offices had gotten Jennie one step closer to completely legitimizing her nonprofit with the big fish. Donations were sure to roll in even more, she just knew it. They both did. She knew Jisoo hadn’t rented out the floor under them either despite getting lucrative offers for it because she was keeping it empty for Jennie.
Once the nonprofit blew up even more Jennie would need more employees and offices for them to work out of. Especially since she was going to go to med school eventually and would need more man power because she’d be even busier than before.
Jisoo never said it, but Lisa knew that was why. She doted on all of them through her subtle actions despite teasing them all of the time. Well, teasing Jennie and her because Jisoo wouldn’t dare to tease Chaeyoung.
“If it wasn’t for me you wouldn’t have graduated Limario. You were too lazy to drive all the way to school and go practice at the studio so you had to do it in that nice office I purchased for you.” Jisoo said smugly.
“Shut up, I only didn’t go because Jimin said I don’t deserve the room with the good speakers anymore after my Seoul stint with that k-pop group because he said I didn’t need the practice now that I did such a high profile professional show so my resume is set.”
“You mean the one where you literally ended up getting your own fan cams even though you’re not even in the group?” Jisoo teased her again, like she usually did about it.
Lisa blushed.
“Shut up. That was just one person. It was one fan cam and whoever it was that originally recorded me in the shows probably just liked the choreography, not me.”
“Yeah sure, that’s why long legged Lisa trended afterwards and Jennie was grumpy for a month because you kept getting requests on your social media and dm’s from people left and right asking you out or saying you were hot.
Personally, I don’t see what they see in you because I know the real you and all I see is a goofy, cheesy cat lady.” Jisoo teased her. “But I can’t deny that everyone else was simping over you.”
Obviously, Jisoo knew Lisa was very attractive and she had honestly expected something like that to happen when they went to the show to support Lisa, but Jisoo loved to say she was ugly just to mess with her.
After the first Seoul date she sneakily recorded at the second show too because Lisa’s fan cam was already circulating so she made a ghost Lisa fan account to mess with her baby cousin too and posted them there.
She wasn’t the only one either, there were definitely more Lisa fan accounts after that and Jisoo had the time of her life watching Jennie scowl at Lisa like she had cheated on her or something anytime she came across one and Lisa was left confused because she hadn’t figured out what she had done at the time just yet, she hadn’t seen she had a little fandom going already.
“Can we please never mention that hashtag ever again?” Lisa said, looking around and internally panicking as if Jennie could hear them despite knowing she was out right now. “She’ll break up with me. It’s a forbidden phrase!!”
Jennie couldn’t stand seeing it. Lisa would have found it funny how Jennie was so supportive of her dancing and so proud Lisa was getting recognition but would get angry in one second flat at anyone that would comment on Lisa’s looks online.
Once Lisa figured out why Jennie was so grumpy and scowling at her after the first few days, because she kept getting requests on her social media, she finally understood Jennie was acting like that because she was jealous and had found out about her new mini fandom even before Lisa had.
Lisa had a sneaking suspicion Jennie had made a ghost account and spammed those people to tell them Lisa was taken and to focus on her talent, not her looks after the first viral fan cam.
She confirmed her suspicion when she saw Jennie with Kai at her studio whispering to each other. Lisa had gotten out of rehearsals earlier than usual and Jennie knew Lisa wasn’t supposed to be in the studio today so there was no reason for her to have come to find her there so the fact she was with Kai of all people right now easily aroused suspicion.
Jennie was more civil with Kai now but they were not even remotely close to being friends. All they said was hello to each other when they were all together in a group and Jennie wouldn’t be caught dead with him alone without a buffer so Lisa did something uncharacteristic of her when she found them huddled together like that.
She decided to spy on them because she was so damn curious as to why they were talking.
She watched from a safe distance away to find out what the hell they were doing because the interaction was even more bizarre than when Lisa had found out he was the gay guy she rescued outside the gay club and eventually became friends with.
She wasn’t worried about any funny business happening between them of course, she trusted the both of them. They were both extremely loyal to her and she knew Jennie would punch Kai’s lights out if he even dared to touch her, though Lisa knew he would never, even if he wasn’t head over heels over Felix.
Now that he didn’t have to hide and Lisa was his best friend Lisa knew he was the perfect gentleman finally, like he was always meant to be.
Lisa just didn’t understand how suddenly they were talking like that and Kai didn’t look afraid of Jennie for once and Jennie wasn’t giving him the cold shoulder so Lisa’s curiosity peaked and she listened to their conversation.
“What do I say to this one?” Kai asked Jennie.
“Which one is it?” Jennie asked, leaning over to look at his phone.
“Oh, that bitch.” Jennie scowled. “Tell her Lisa likes men only.”
Kai typed furiously on his phone.
“Done.” Kai said once he finished with his comment and started scrolling. “Okay, this guy asked my bestie to marry her.”
“Oh hell no.” Jennie said, pulling her phone out too. “I’ve got this one.”
Kai smirked when he saw Jennie’s comment pop up in the thread.
“Nice,” he said, high fiving Jennie once he read it. “You really do deserve more credit for your online rbf.”
Jennie raised an eyebrow at him in question.
Kai shrugged. “It’s like in real life, you can give attitude without really saying anything just with the looks you make. No one can really fault you for the resting bitch face if you sport it. They can’t really say you’re being a bitch because you’re just standing there but you still intimidate them without having to say anything.
Your comments are genius like that too. They give I’ll murder you if you come close to her but you can’t pin it on me because I didn’t incriminate myself and you’re just reading into things and this was just a harmless comment.”
Jennie tweaked her head in thought.
“Huh, I guess you are smarter than I thought.”
Kai grinned and looked at his phone again.
“You’re not going to like this one Jen, I think you should roast them with the other ghost account, with the savage one we made. They’re not a fan or casually trying to flirt with her. They just sound creepy. You’ll want them off her account completely unlike the other ones.”
Kai knew Jennie didn’t want to scare Lisa’s fans away, she just wanted them to keep a respectful admiring distance so they were ‘politely’ telling them to fuck off and just enjoy Lisa’s talents. Respectfully.
Jennie looked at it and immediately scowled.
“Suddenly I almost feel bad for this person.” Kai said as he looked over Jennie’s shoulder and watched her type, reading what she was writing.
Lisa watched them in amusement for several minutes before walking up to them.
“What are you guys doing?” Lisa asked curiously.
Kai jumped up immediately, startled, not expecting Lisa to show up. She wasn’t supposed to be in today after all.
“Jennie said she’d forgive me if I let her shoot me too!” Kai rushed out, trying to cover for her. “We were just negotiating the terms.”
Lisa raised her eyebrows, trying to keep a straight face.
“I thought you didn’t believe in guns baby brat, you know, being a future surgeon and all.”
Jennie was much more nonchalant than Kai, she was too jealous at the amount of attention her girlfriend was getting that she played into the role easily.
Jennie shrugged.
“I don’t, but I guess he deserves forgiveness now that he willingly wants to prove his loyalty.” Jennie said, walking up to Lisa. That part was at least based on some truth, Kai had been the first one to text her about all the comments Lisa was getting on one of the posts of the fan cam he stumbled across on social media.
He asked Jennie what she wanted to do about it because he knew Jennie was the jealous type and they both came up with a scheme to try to discourage them to hit on Lisa without affecting any of Lisa’s rising popularity.
“You’ve been asking me to give him a chance, this was it. We’re going every single day this week.” Jennie finished, puckering her lips so Lisa would kiss her.
“I’m definitely going to have to be there for that then.” Lisa said after she pulled away from the kiss. “I’d love to see that.”
Lisa could see Kai grimace out of the corner of her eye and she internally laughed because she knew he was so going to let himself get shot again wearing that kevlar and bear the bruises just to cover for Jennie and his scheming so he could make amends to her.
She knew he was desperate for forgiveness and would absolutely volunteer to get shot by Jennie for an entire week.
“Sorry baby. It’s got to just be me and him. If you’re there I’ll be influenced to forgive him just because you do, you understand, right? I want it to be genuine and forgive him on my own.” Jennie said, smiling sweetly at Lisa.
“Of course.” Lisa said, smirking. She knew Jennie was just working her. Usually she was clueless about certain things but if there was anything she was an expert at, it was jealous Jennie and she knew they were going to spend the entire week doing what she had just caught them doing. Jennie had no desire to shoot Kai, she just needed to recruit him for her jealousy streak.
Lisa felt giddy inside at the fact Jennie was so possessive of her that she would actually make amends with Kai just to get him to help Jennie reply to people being a little too forward with Lisa online.
She was happy the jealousy was finally bridging their differences together. Who knew all Lisa needed to do was make Jennie jealous for her to recruit Kai in her revenge schemes.
Lisa pretended to believe their little lie, she regretted it a bit on the last day though because they had apparently looked at her new followers and Jennie had stormed in looking murderous.
Lisa thought she was going to get another slap to the face but Jennie had apparently been too preoccupied doing damage control and demanded Lisa hand her phone over.
“Now Lisa!” Jennie raised her voice, holding her hand out impatiently because Lisa had been too bewildered at the fact Jennie suddenly stormed in the house yelling that she hesitated for too long. Lisa almost dropped her phone in her haste to hand it to Jennie but Jennie was so quick she grabbed it before it fell.
“I don’t know. I still think I should mention long leg Lisa around Jennie again. I kind of like the fact Jennie snatched your phone out of your hand to block the several porn stars and only fans models that that added you and sent you nudes to your dms. It was pretty hilarious.” Jisoo continued teasing Lisa.
“We don’t talk about that! She didn’t kiss me for two whole days because she thought I let them add me on purpose and she thought I accidentally looked at some of the pictures since I reply to all of my fans if I can!” Lisa whined. “Shut up! She’ll hear you!”
“She’s not even here Limario!” Jisoo cackled at the panicked state Lisa immediately fell into like she usually did when they mentioned the porn star incident.
“She doesn’t have to be here to hear you.” Lisa said darkly, looking around again nervously.
Jisoo rolled her eyes at Lisa.
“Wimp.”
“Says the woman that never cries but would literally cry in front of everyone and their mothers if Rosie ever broke up with her.” Lisa retorted.
Jisoo frowned and shut up, cutting her losses because Lisa had her there. She didn’t want to go down that road with Lisa. They did their truce handshake after that, knowing they had each other.
“What was your idea for the proposal?” Rosie finally stepped in and asked Lisa when she saw them do the handshake. She knew its meaning so she was well aware the teasing war was over. “By the way, I’d never break up with you baby.” Rosie said, kissing Jisoo on the cheek, who immediately sported her self satisfied smirk.
Rosie had been enjoying their banter too much to get them back on track before this and they weren’t going overboard like they sometimes did so she just let them tease each other for fun until it ran its course like it eventually always did.
“Oh right. I had a point. So like, I thought since Rosie asked me to maybe dance and choreograph stuff for some of her songs during her tour for once it happened and Jennie wants to raise some more money again for the nonprofit and you, well, I don’t really know what you do.” Lisa said seriously, looking to Jisoo.
“You do everything and nothing all the time and you’re still insanely rich. How do you do that?” Lisa asked, getting sidetracked again.
“I’m Jisoo.” Jisoo said simply.
Lisa shrugged, accepting that as an answer. Only Jisoo could do what Jisoo did, effortlessly succeed despite the fact she slacked around and obsessively played games and spent most of her time doting on Rosie. Lisa was pretty sure Jisoo only spent a whopping two hours on her real estate stuff once a week and still managed to nail it.
She was also sure the only reason she was still going to school was so she could have lunch with Rosie every day and because she didn’t want to disappoint her parents by not graduating. Jisoo didn’t really need school anymore now that she was a real estate mogul.
Now that Lisa thought about it, she realized she didn’t even know what Jisoo was even majoring in and that baffled her because they were all clearly very close and the fact she’d known her for years and didn’t know was a little insane. Lisa had to shake herself out of it, she’d ask her later. There were more important things at hand.
“Anyway, I thought maybe we could use the tour to raise funds for Jennie’s charity, I can take pictures at the cities that we’re at and find interesting stories like the first time I did my fellowship and use whatever I make from that for the nonprofit. I can afford it now that the studio is doing so well and Kai is surprisingly a really good manager, I can trust him with it while we’re gone.
Jennie can find more cases on the way or like set up the events during the tour and maybe be your manager Rosie? And you, I don’t know, moral support?” Lisa said to Jisoo again.
Jisoo smirked, rolling her eyes, knowing Lisa was just making a dig at her.
“I’m bankrolling the entire trip of course and doing all the stuff you guys can’t do, like make it fun.” Jisoo smirked.
“So, what do you guys think?” Lisa asked nervously.
“Save your money Limario, I’ve just found my new investment.” Jisoo answered as a response.
Lisa smiled at that, knowing that was Jisoo’s cosign that she approved of her idea.
“I’m super excited for the trip if we manage to do this, but like, when are you going to propose?” Chaeyoung asked excitedly.
“At the end of it.” Lisa answered.
“I said six months Limario! It’s already been three!” Jisoo retorted immediately.
“I know, I know. But like, it would be super special you know? I talk to her all the time about our time apart and she always says how she hated that she spent a whole year not really knowing what I was up to. Only hearing it from Rosie during our phone calls.
This is a pretty long winded proposal but I thought it would be romantic? Spending a year traveling the world together like we should have in the first place and then I could propose on the last day of our trip. I already planned out some places we should go, in between Rosie’s big city tour dates, and I’d thought we’d end here.”
“I’ve always wanted to visit ever since you told me about it.” Chaeyoung said, looking at the picture.
“Whoa, that literally looks like a castle.” Jisoo said, looking at it too. “Like the most intricate castle ever made mind you, wow, the detail on everything is insane.”
“It’s Wat Rong Khun. It’s known as the White Temple. It’s a buddhist temple and—”
“It’s beautiful.” Jisoo cut her off. “Damn, this is where you want to propose?”
“Is it too much? I know it can seem a little intimidating when you look at it and it doesn’t seem romantic at all and probably a bit scary if you don’t know what it represents but there’s a lot of symbolism with the bridge and the temple and I don’t know. I thought it might be special.
Especially considering the bridge is supposed to represent the cycle of rebirth and the ‘sea’ under it with all those hands reaching up is supposed to represent the people in hell or samsara, trying to get past worldly pleasures and once you cross the bridge it technically means you’re making it into the heavenly realm.
I thought I’d propose there and then cross it and make it to heaven, with her. Because she is my heaven.
I don’t know. I know that sounds a little out there. I just thought like maybe proposing to her in that bridge meant we were soulmates like I’ve always thought ever since I admitted my feelings for her and I’d get to see her in the next life and in every life after that until we finally make it to heaven. Together.
I know you guys don’t really subscribe to reincarnation because you guys weren’t raised on buddhism but I do and I wanted the proposal to be deeper, to show her that I’m not just proposing to devote my life to her in this life.
I want to propose to her in the next too and in every life after that until we’re worthy of heaven. I don’t just want a few more years with her, I want an eternity with her.”
Jisoo blinked once after Lisa was done with her nervous explanation.
“If you ever repeat this I will slap the shit out of you, but goddamn Limario. You’d get any girl saying yes to you after that little speech.”
“Even you?” Lisa winked jokingly, feeling relieved she had gotten her toughest critic’s approval, not to mention Jisoo had always been such a big part of Jennie’s life and Lisa internally sought her approval because she knew Jisoo was her closest family.
“Let’s not get carried away.” Jisoo said in response as she walked away.
“Yes, even her.” Chaeyoung whispered and winked at her best friend. They both knew from the fact Jisoo had complimented Lisa in her own way that she approved but Chaeyoung had noticed the small smile Jisoo had as she walked away too. “I guess it was fate that I grabbed that specific proposal out of your backpack then?” She asked Lisa.
“I’m still a little shocked by that. Out of all the ones for you to randomly pick, but I don’t know why I’m so shook since you’re a stupid mind reader.” Lisa said jokingly. “Even with backpacks full of proposal letters apparently.”
“I kind of feel bad that Jennie’s going to spend a year anxiously waiting for you to propose but you’re right for once, this is perfect.”
“It’s not like she knows I wanted to.” Lisa rolled her eyes and followed Jisoo to the kitchen, hearing the distinct pop of a wine bottle cork.
Chaeyoung giggled.
“Of course she doesn’t.” Chaeyoung said, laughing to herself considering Lisa was the only one that didn’t know Jennie had been doing everything she could to get Lisa to propose already because she was insanely impatient.
_____________
They managed to arrange the trip quickly since they weren’t going anywhere dangerous and Jennie really was insanely good at organizing things. Between Jennie and Jisoo they had Rosie’s tour dates settled and the events and where they were going within a couple of weeks of Lisa presenting the idea.
Jisoo was slightly annoyed they were postponing their wedding by a few months so they could go on this year long tour but she figured she really could use the time to write her vows. It took her an entire year to write a proposal after all and she couldn’t even get it out anyway.
Jisoo realized the true meaning of ‘be careful what you wish for’ when Chaeyoung asked Jisoo if she was good with Lisa’s idea of ending their whole traveling the world thing in Australia after Lisa proposed to Jennie in Thailand and then have their wedding there instead.
Lisa knew her best friend had been impatient to marry Jisoo so she had thought they could do Australia six months in to do the wedding like they originally planned but Chaeyoung kind of liked the idea of Lisa proposing to Jennie and then she and Jisoo getting married the week after that.
They’d always been connected somehow, Lisa and her had always done everything together so Chaeyoung figured she could be patient to marry the girl that was practically already her wife.
____________
Jisoo visited Jennie’s fake mother the week before they left. She was the last loose end to get Jennie out of her old nightmare life so Jisoo could finally tell Jennie the truth.
“Jisoo?” She said when the butler had led her to her. “What are you doing here?”
It wasn’t like Jisoo made visits to their house, even when Jennie did live with them. Jennie would usually go to Jisoo instead.
Jisoo didn’t didn’t deign to reply, throwing several manila folders on the coffee table harshly.
“I suggest you read those and act accordingly unless you want to end up just like your cheating husband. I picked up a little trick from my baby cousin, so don’t think I don’t have multiple copies with multiple people that I trust.
Jennie doesn’t care about ending up with this house or her inheritance that she’s more than earned, way more than you because all you’ve ever done is lounge around and go to cocktail parties with your husband, so leave her alone. You can have it all now that dear uncle Kim has been arrested but only on one condition.
I won’t even ask where all the fabricated evidence that you have of Scarlett is, of Jennie’s real mother that you tried to frame for supposedly killing innocent children with your husband because I’m sure there are duplicates of that too, even if you hand it over to me now, I’m sure there’s more. But, if I even hear a single whisper of you trying to frame Jennie’s true mother you’re done for.
My uncle was an idiot but you weren’t were you? That tax fraud he was arrested for in his charity was your doing. You seduced the other Mr. Kim and had him funnel it for you didn’t you? You went on shopping sprees with charity money to Prada and bought fancy cars and told your husband you could afford all of that stuff because your law firm was supposedly doing that well.”
“How did you—” Mrs. Kim faltered. “Who told you about that? Was it Kim? Did he talk now that he’s in jail? We were careful! I was careful. I’m a lawyer for god’s sakes. The paperwork was clean.
The money was buried under five different shell companies under his name, not mine! I shouldn’t be implicated too! My husband and Kim both took the fall because they’re idiots. My husband didn’t even know what was happening with his own organization and what his own best friend was doing! It was the perfect cover.
Did he talk? Did they both talk? My husband is the only one that knows about the Scarlett thing! They betrayed me now that they lost it all didn’t they, even though I’m paying for their lawyers to get them out!
What did he give you? I’ll share the money Jisoo. Just give me the evidence you have, all of it. You’ll be Chaebol rich if you take the deal.”
“Okay, how much money are you willing to offer.” Jisoo shrugged, sitting down.
“It’s in the millions Jisoo! US dollars. You’ll be a billionaire what with your inheritance and the money I give you. I have it in offshore account in the Cayman Islands. I can send it to you right now! I’ll transfer it right now, what’s your account number? I’ll give you half now and half later when you give me the rest of it as a test of faith.”
Jisoo smirked. “You have a pen?”
Mrs. Kim reached for her purse and handed it to her. Jisoo wrote her account number on top of one of the manila folders and watched as Mrs. Kim got on the phone to transfer the money and Jisoo really wondered how the hell this woman was a lawyer. That had been way too easy.
“Done.”
Mrs. Kim frantically reached for one of the manila folders and pulled out the papers. They were all blank. It was just blank printer paper.
“Make sure you recycle those.” Jisoo said smirking.
“What?” Mrs. Kim frantically opened the next one, they were blank too. “Jisoo what is this?!”
Jisoo smirked harder and pulled a recorder from her pocket.
“Your confession.”
Mrs. Kim sputtered.
“I didn’t confess to anything. I didn’t even say my name.”
“You just sent me millions of dollars to my account and confessed to fraud, blackmail, and countless other crimes.”
“That was simply a donation to my niece, you can’t prove anything.”
Jisoo dropped the smirk and walked to Mrs. Kim menacingly, feeling angry. Mrs. Kim backed up in fear. Jisoo didn’t think one day in jail to smack this woman to kingdom come was such a bad trade off honestly, she’d wanted to punch her and her uncle forever for how they were with Jennie.
She could probably say it was self defense considering she was the one that busted her anyway.
“Baby don’t. Alice is already handling it.” Chaeyoung said, walking in to the room too.
Mrs. Kim jumped at the new voice.
Jisoo scowled because she knew she wasn’t going to be able to hit her now. Chaeyoung had been recording from the other room too just in case something happened to Jisoo’s recording and she knew Jisoo too well so she jumped in because she was sure Jisoo was about to beat that woman up and she really didn’t need her fiancée in jail.
“Sorry chipmunk. I’ll just play with her a bit.”
Chaeyoung relaxed a little, knowing Jisoo was only going to taunt her with words and not her fists. Jisoo pulled up her recorder and stopped it, trying to continue to bait Mrs. Kim to spill more confessions.
Jisoo doubted she would guess that Chaeyoung was recording too, she’d already confessed too easily without even looking at what was in the folders. Her guilty conscience had clearly won out and she was spooked that she’d been caught.
“You’d be surprised the things you find out from the ‘help’ as you would love to call them. The nice people who cater to you and endure your abuse just so they can support their families.” Jisoo said as she backed Mrs. Kim into a corner and posted up to her.
“You’d be surprised at the secrets they’re willing to divulge, at the fact they’re more than willing to testify against you without hesitation, at the security tapes they can get their hands on of this whole interaction which will only tie my recording with visual proof and give to me willingly because of the shitty way you treat them.
Loyalty can’t be bought aunt Kim.” Jisoo said derisively. “It’s earned, and guess what? They all love Jennie. She was the only one that was decent to them. More than decent from the way they spoke of her so fondly, she loved them more than she loved her own parents and they felt that love.
She bought them gifts on their birthdays and remembered every single person that worked for this home. She remembered their kids, their families, and consistently asked about them and checked up on them even after some of them moved on to work somewhere else. She went to their funerals when some of them passed.
She even helped her first nanny retire with that loan she asked from her father after she made a killing with it in the stock market, did you know that? So as soon as I told them how this could help her, not a single one of them hesitated to turn on you, despite fearing for their future employment.
They won’t have to worry about that though. I haven’t told them, but they’ll be taken care of by me someway or another. They can work for me or Jennie’s nonprofit or even my mother. We’ll get them all jobs or help them retire, I’m not worried. I’m a little loaded now, I have plenty of work if they don’t want to take severance packages or their pride won’t accept charity once you’re put away.
That’s how strong their loyalty to Jennie is. Despite being poor and struggling and not being able to afford to lose their jobs, every single one of your employees and ex employees I talked to agreed to help even without that guarantee they don’t know about yet. Because they hate you, because you’re a shit person that was born with a silver spoon in your hand and you thought that made you better than everyone else.
Well guess what, you’re not and now you’re going to jail right along with your husband. Where you belong. I don’t even believe in jail, except to put entitled motherfuckers like you in a cage so you think about what you’ve done and realize how shitty of a person you are and how much you fucked up even after being born so lucky. How you squandered that privilege so fucking hard.
Welcome to kindergarten aunt Kim, you’re getting put into time out for the rest of your pathetic entitled life. Now you get to see how the other half lives.
I’m not Jendeukie, I don’t give second chances. Your first strike was treating her the way you did when all she did was try to please you.
I still remember. I was eight, she was seven. She spent the entire week drawing you a mother’s day card. She decided to do this all on her own. It wasn’t even a school thing.
She just wanted to do that for you because she wanted you to love her. She wanted to be enough. She just wanted a goddamn hug! She told me that’s all she wanted from you when I caught her working on it. Just once, a measly fucking hug from her mother. You didn’t even look at it when she handed it to you, you grabbed it and walked away from her and threw it in the trash.
I was only eight and I knew it was going to be a bad idea but she looked so hopeful and I made the mistake of letting my baby cousin get crushed. I thought maybe for once you might have a heart and at least pretend to accept it but something in me gave me an awful feeling.
That’s why I asked for that sleepover instead of spending mother’s day with my own mom, who actually deserved daughter’s love unlike you, because I had a bad feeling that you’d ruin Jennie’s hope and you fucking did.
She cried all night, I had to hold her all night on fucking mother’s day because her supposed mother didn’t even take her fucking card that she worked so hard on!
Was it Jennie’s fault that your cheating husband had a kid with someone else and you agreed to pretend like she was your actual daughter? She still treated you like a mother despite the fact you left her to the nannies and baby sitters, and you took it out on her instead of him. Who was really at fault aunt?” Jisoo asked derisively.
“Was it an innocent child’s fault that didn’t even ask to be brought into this world, or my uncles?! Or yours for that matter! For pretending she was actually yours and not acting like it!
She spent a week doing that card over and over for you and asking me if it was good enough because maybe then you’d pay attention to her and love her, but you never did and you even threw it out right in front of her face you vengeful piece of shit trash. In front of a fucking seven year old that just wanted you to love her, or like her at least. You could have at least pretended to keep it and thrown it out after.
Do you know how long she cried even after that night? She cried every mother’s day after that until she was thirteen and finally realized you weren’t worth her tears like I always told her, but you wouldn’t know would you, because she didn’t exist to you.
The only reason she stopped crying was probably because she would help me with my mom’s mother’s day card and would give her one too and my own mother put them up in her office.
She has all of them still, they’re plastered on her walls, both of them, mine and hers. So does her last nanny, she has them all in a box and texts Jennie thank you with a picture of them every year, even now despite not taking care of her for over a decade.
Now that her idiot father is in jail, you’re next. You think I’d actually tell you everything I had on you?” Jisoo scoffed, picking up one of the folders. “As if. You know what you did. I don’t have to show you. You’re going away for just as long, if not longer than he is.”
Mrs. Kim blanched.
“The tax fraud wasn’t even my idea! I was conned by a man I was seeing when I found out my husband was cheating and he had me target Dean Kim! What I did can’t be counted as adultery either, my husband cheated first! And about the hit and run, it wasn’t even me, I wasn’t driving. My driver ditched the car! It was him! That’s why I had him fired!” She finished nervously.
She thought Jisoo had more on her and found out about the fact she had been the one driving during that incident and pinned it on her driver and fired him.
Jisoo smirked, shaking her head. Seriously, how did she pass the bar. Jisoo started wondering if maybe she hadn’t paid someone off to do it for her considering she was an awful negotiator and literally just confessed to things Jisoo didn’t even know about.
At how easy it had been to trick her into confessing despite Jisoo having literally nothing on her except an inkling of her crimes because of when she and Alice tracked down her employees and asked what they suspected her of. Jisoo didn’t even know about the hit and run.
“You think this is enough chipmunk?”
Rosie reached her hand out for Jisoo’s.
“Enough? Enough for what?” Mrs. Kim shrieked. “Wait, Jisoo! I’ll give it all to you, right now. You can have all the money, give me that!”
Jisoo ignored her and walked out of the house.
Alice, Rosie’s lawyer sister was waiting outside and Jisoo handed her the device and Rosie handed hers over too.
“It’s all in there. I don’t know law that well but with all the leads she just gave us and the confessions I think you can put her away pretty quickly and this is probably enough to subpoena her security tapes and raid her house for the fake evidence on Scarlett.
I’m sure they had copies but chipmunk said Irene has a friend at a broadcasting station, Joy right?”
Rosie nodded, pressing herself to Jisoo even more, thinking she was the luckiest girl in the world because she was seriously getting to marry a woman that could literally do it all. She was so proud right now. She always was of Jisoo, but sometimes she just did extraordinary things that made Rosie fall impossibly harder for her.
“She’s an anchor and she promised she’d break the story of how Scarlett almost got framed as soon as you give us the go ahead so that it doesn’t interfere with the case and it clears Scarlett’s name in case someone tries to say she did it.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, my dear aunt even transferred millions of dollars into my personal account so you can trace the money now to the Caymans.
I’ll text you my account number. I won’t go to jail for that will I? I was just pretending I wanted it, I get immunity right since I’ll give it back and I brought the case to you? I was just thinking on my feet.”
Alice looked at her incredulously. She couldn’t believe the empty manila folder trick actually worked. She thought it had been too risky considering Jisoo came up with it because she had been watching a lawyer show and saw them do it and suggested it.
Alice was going to say no because she didn’t want to lose their chance but considering they weren’t breaking any laws and her baby sister assured her that Jisoo could do it they went with it.
Alice had to admit Jisoo was a great actress and great under pressure anyway so she knew if anyone could do it, Jisoo could so they went with it but she was still in shock she got that much done. She thought they’d just get some leads, not the whole case won in one fell swoop.
“I really shouldn’t even be surprised you managed to get her to send you the money too. Holy crap Jisoo, you should have done law. She’s done for. And don’t worry, I’ve got you, no one is sending you to jail.
Her lawyer will probably try to use that against us but I’ve got that handled, the case won’t even make it past the judge’s desk. It’s flimsy at best. I’ll have to freeze that account too for a bit just to show them good faith but with our past conversations and all the evidence we have, they’ll throw out the claim immediately.”
“No worries. I don’t need it yet, you can hold it hostage for as long as you need.” Jisoo said. “That’s the account I have set up for when Jendeukie would pay me rent. As long as they don’t touch her money I’m cool.”
“I’ll file the charges first thing in the morning after I listen to this.” Alice said. “She’s a flight risk, I’m sure she’s already packing so I need to go, I have to get a judge to freeze her accounts and have them put up an apb so that she doesn’t flee the country before we can arrest her. Honestly, I’m sure I can have her arrested within the hour anyway at this rate.”
“Thank you for flying all the way out here just to do this for us.” Rosie said, hugging her sister.
“You’re my baby sister, I have the right to pick on you but when you need me I’ll always be there for you, no questions asked. Besides, no one picks on my little sister’s friends. They’re your family so that makes them family for me too. I’m glad Jennie is going to finally be free of this nightmare.
When I’m done with this and win it she’s probably going to end up with that money anyway. I’ll be suing for her inheritance, the house, and her father’s charity.
I love you, but I really do have to go, I’ll call you tomorrow when I have news. This house alone shows me she can shut this down quick if I’m not smart about it. She’s wealthy.”
“Thanks Ali.” Jisoo said, hugging her too and they watched her leave.
Rosie wrapped her arms around Jisoo’s neck and kissed her.
“I’d say I would be surprised your plan worked to get her to incriminate herself even though we had no clue if she had even really done anything and you were bluffing the entire time but you’re Kim Jisoo, failing isn’t really in your vocabulary when you’re scheming.” Rosie said giggling.
“I am however surprised at how specific she was though and about how much she had done. I really thought it would just be her being an accomplice to the fabricated evidence on Scarlett but wow, that was a lot.
I’m so impressed with you. The employees didn’t even say anything about the tax fraud. None of them knew. They all just talked about how much of an abusive employer she was and how sometimes they didn’t get paid on time and how she spent her time at Prada for the most part and she visited Mr. Kim a lot. How did you guess that?”
Jisoo shrugged, a self satisfied smirk on her face.
“I’ve known her all my life and I’ve always had my suspicions about the illegal things she probably got up to. Anyone who acts like the picture of perfection has always made me uncomfortable because it’s clearly all an act to not get caught. It was obvious to me she was hiding something.
I knew there was more so I pushed her. I was just taking a guess and I thought she’d either accidentally confess to the fabricated evidence crime or slip and offer something else.
I was kind of grasping at straws. I didn’t expect to hit the nail on the head but I found that when you accuse people of worse things they forget the less worse thing and inadvertently let something slip.
I knew she would eventually, it comes with the territory of always scheming.”
“I love it when you use your powers for good.” Rosie murmured into Jisoo’s lips.
“How much?” Jisoo asked.
“You know how much.” Rosie husked out suggestively.
“Tonight?” Jisoo asked hopefully.
“We’re not leaving our bedroom the entire night and it’s not so we can sleep.” Rosie said as she finally closed the gap and dove into those heart shaped lips.
Jisoo felt her heart bloom, she really should start scheming for good more. Rosie was probably going to do the thing for her tonight too and Jisoo couldn’t wait.
She might have to text the girls to leave the house for the night because she didn’t really just want to confine their activities to the bedroom tonight. It’s not like they hadn’t defiled her house with their own activities by now too.
Lisa always warned her when she needed to wipe a security tape because they’d get out of hand in the living room when she and Rosie were out.
At this rate, Jisoo just really needed to turn off her security system in the house once and for all because in between she and Rosie and Jennie and Lisa, they could probably start their own only fans account at this point.
_______________
“Don’t you dare burn down my studio while I’m gone.” Lisa said in warning.
“I’m not the one that starts fires bestie.” Kai retorted in amusement. “I think that’s all you anytime you’re near a kitchen stove.”
Lisa rolled her eyes at him but couldn’t say much else because he was right.
“Thank you for trusting me with this.” Kai said honestly, getting a little teary eyed. He was going to miss Lisa but he also very much appreciated the fact she would trust him to run something so precious to her without any supervision.
“You’ve earned it. I’m hardly ever here anyway and you’ve handled it all this entire time. “
Once Lisa had started school again to finish up dance she had a lot on her plate. She was helping with Jennie’s nonprofit, she was finishing up her dance major, she had a studio and was basically getting offers left and right for professional photography. Not to mention when she did her cameo with that kpop group and she started getting offers to dance too, she needed help.
Kai had gone back to school too but basically ran the studio for her and hired good people to work now that there was more work. He took night classes so he could do both and so far he had proven he had more of a business mind than he had originally thought.
He was meticulous and made sure to write everything down throughout the day. They would have visitors just browsing and Kai would charm them and get their number and follow up with them and more often than not, even the ones that didn’t really want to buy anything because they wanted to save money despite loving Lisa’s work would end up buying something eventually thanks to him.
He recruited some of the kids from his classes to work in a paid internship capacity too, he pitched the idea to Lisa and she let him run with it and Lisa didn’t regret it one bit. They helped take pictures for the less important clients and Lisa had to admit Kai had a good eye for spotting talent because they were all very good.
Lisa basically handed him her own business at that point.
Kai didn’t know it yet, because Lisa planned to live a very long life, but she had already willed the studio to Kai should anything happen to her and she pass. He was a lot of the reason why it kept thriving. He was charming and detail oriented and when Lisa couldn’t be there he would always pick up the slack.
Lisa would never forget the day she put Kai’s own work up. Now that he had gone back to school to pursue photography too Lisa gifted him her best camera, she could afford it now. Kai almost choked her with the force of his hug when he received it.
He started taking candids ever since then and showing them to Lisa and Lisa was pretty impressed with his eye considering he was still fairly new to all of it. Especially after seeing the picture of his mother Kai had taken.
He had shown Lisa a picture of Felix he had taken a month before that one and Lisa loved it so much she turned the picture in to the same fellowship she had gone to. It was that good and she was sure he would win it.
Sure enough, he was named a finalist and Kai had snapped a picture of his mother as he told her that he was in the finals and the sheer joy on her face was evident. It bled through the photograph.
Lisa put both of those pictures up in her studio and they had sold many copies already.
Kai did end up getting the fellowship but unlike Lisa, he decided to stay local because he couldn’t leave his mother again, so all of his work was mostly based out of Seoul. He made weekend trips to villages and other cities every once in a while but for the most part he stayed in Seoul.
He was balancing everything out perfectly so Lisa trusted him with the place while she left again.
“I’m gonna miss you bestie.”
“This won’t be like the last time, we can see each other every once in a while.” Lisa answered. “I’m funding this trip on my own for the most part, with my money and Jisoo’s investment so I can come back whenever I want and I’m not going anywhere dangerous this time.”
“As if you would considering you’re taking Jennie with you, and the girls.” Kai said immediately. “You wouldn’t go even a thousand miles near anywhere dangerous with them.”
“Look at you being more than just a pretty face and having some logic.” Lisa said, winking at him as she started leaving.
She scowled and stood there stiffly because Kai pulled her into a hug before she could go.
“I really will miss you bestie.”
“I guess I’ll miss you too.” Lisa said dryly, rolling her eyes. She really would, but they still had that same dynamic of Lisa teasing him. Their relationship was much like Jisoo and her own. Except that with Kai and herself, he fought back with love, not banter like Lisa would with Jisoo.
Kai hugged her tighter.
“Your crushing me dude.” Lisa complained.
“Sorry.” Kai said, finally letting go and wiping a tear from his eye.
“You’re literally going to see me next month!” Lisa said incredulously when she noticed he was crying. “I have to come back to present Gong Yoo’s philanthropy award he’s receiving. He picked me out of the hundreds of students he’s already sponsored to give it to him.
Do you think I’m really going to miss giving out the biggest award in philanthropy to my mentor who’s the entire reason I have this studio and even had a chance at getting that IPA, to the man that sponsored my dream trip and helped Jennie get away from her father by bankrolling the rest of it when he had absolutely no obligation to?”
“No. But you’re going to be gone for most of the year.” Kai pouted. “You probably won’t even text me unless it’s to see if I’m ruining your studio.”
Lisa rolled her eyes playfully.
“Fine, I’ll cut you a deal, I’ll call you at least once a week and I promise to reserve at least thirty minutes of that call for non business purposes.”
“Promise?” Kai asked, holding a pinky up.
“On my love for Jennie.” Lisa said, taking it and Kai knew Lisa was being serious because she would never put anything on Jennie if she didn’t mean it. He grinned hard and gave her one last hug before finally letting her go.
__________
The girls spent an entire year having a blast on their trip. Rosie did her shows, they were usually sold out despite her being an independent artist and the fact the only marketing came from word of mouth and Jennie’s deals with the clubs or venues she booked for Rosie.
Jisoo had obviously offered to bankroll Rosie’s marketing and do social media ads or whatever she needed but Rosie wanted to do it organically and honestly, all that mattered is that she got to perform. She didn’t do it for the money so she really didn’t need it. She cared more that Jisoo invested that money to get awareness for Jennie’s nonprofit instead.
Lisa danced at most of them, she was onstage for a lot of her songs. Rosie was more the singer songwriter type so Lisa’s choreography was usually contemporary dancing but sometimes she got silly, knowing Rosie wouldn’t mind and dance sexually for Jennie’s benefit while Rosie sang some love song that Lisa knew had probably been written specifically for Jisoo.
They always got laughs from the audience during those times.
Jennie found cases at those events and basically ran Rosie’s schedule. She used Rosie’s concerts to help raise awareness for the charity,
Rosie would always make a speech in the middle of the show to let people know they could donate and to ask people if they could at least spread awareness of the charity’s mission with their friends. Also to ask if anyone needed help from their organization and would give them information on how to do that.
Jennie had to spend the entire weekend when they flew back to Seoul for Gong Yoo’s awards ceremony hiring staff because she had her work cut out for her with how many devastating cases came in even after Rosie only having done three shows.
She should have known Jisoo had left the floor under their own offices empty just for her because before Jennie could even ask if she had space and negotiate a deal to expand her nonprofit’s offices Jisoo was already handing her the keys to all the offices on that floor and handing her a contract with a deal to buy out the entire floor.
Jennie might have cried a bit because her favorite cousin was always rescuing her from things, ever since they were little. Jennie was only able to bear the misery she went through when she lived with her family because of Jisoo.
“Not a word Jendeukie. Just take the keys and sign it and I’ll send it to Alice and she’ll make it official. The top two floors will be yours, no more rent, you’ll own them. I have her on retainer now so she’ll handle the paperwork for us.”
Jennie couldn’t speak so she just went in for a hug instead and she felt Jisoo hug her back.
“It’s about time you accept something from me.” Jisoo said, choking back her own tears.
“You’ve been there for me all of my life Chu, you’ve given me way more than this. I always accept things from you.”
“No you don’t. You’re always too proud. And I have a confession to make and I don’t care how annoyed you are with me, but I’ve been donating anonymously to your charity. All the money you gave me for rent. Well, not all of it just yet because you’re too smart and you would have caught on so they’ve been sporadic.
Anyway, my point is, don’t even bother to pay me the amount in that contract for the two floors because it’s just going to go back into your charity. It’s too much off a hassle to have to trick you, you’re taking time away from my Rosie and my games.” Jisoo half joked.
“So just keep it. Besides, I can just write it off on my taxes or something. So sign this other contract instead that says I’m donating the top of my building to your nonprofit. Don’t make me work too hard Jendeukie, it’s annoying.” Jisoo said, pulling out the other one she had brought.
Jennie pulled away from the hug and narrowed her eyes at Jisoo.
“Of course it was you! I’ve literally been tracking those donations since the beginning, wondering where it came from! I thought it might be fraud or something! I should have known.” Jennie pouted.
“Yes, you should have, now sign the charitable donation contract already or I’ll throw you in my bunker again until you do, without your girlfriend this time. Kai volunteered to go down there with you and annoy you even though you’ll probably punch his lights out at some point.”
Jennie narrowed her eyes at Jisoo again, who was merely smirking.
Jennie sighed. Those glinting devious eyes clearly had a plan and she knew Lisa, Rosie, and Jisoo would all be in on it and she had no chance.
“Lisa’s in on it with you isn’t she?”
“She’s the one that suggested sending Kai.” Jisoo smirked.
“Fine.” Jennie said grumpily, signing the contract.
“I’ll take that.” Jisoo said, grabbing both of them and ripping up the one with the buyers deal because she wasn’t dumb, she knew Jennie would try to sign that one and get it to Alice behind Jisoo’s back.
“Ugh. I hate that you’re smart.” Jennie grumbled.
Jisoo smirked even more.
“Come on Jendeukie, our women are waiting for us.”
______________
Jisoo walked up to Lisa when they got home. She was starting to get ready for the Philanthropy Gala and Jennie was in the shower so this was her chance.
“Limario, I need to talk to you.”
“Did it not work? I could have sworn it would have worked!” Lisa said bewildered, thinking the building deal they were going to coerce Jennie in to taking hadn’t gone according to plan.
“It’s not that.” Jisoo said, and Lisa noticed her serious demeanor and tweaked her head.
“Who are you and what have you done to Kim Jisoo?” Lisa asked.
“Come find out why your crackhead twin looks serious for once.” Jisoo reached out for their truce ‘we’re not teasing each other right now’ handshake to show she was being serious and Lisa returned it. “Hurry, I need to tell you everything before Jennie gets out of the shower. I just got the go ahead to be able to tell you from Alice.”
Lisa was more than confused but followed Jisoo out.
Jisoo opened her secret safe, the one only Rosie knew about and pulled out the album, handing it to Lisa.
“I wanted to be the one to tell her, but I realized something today. I’ve been protecting her all of my life, but that’s not my job anymore. I’ve been replaced as main protector by you so I think you should get to do the honors. This is your job now that you’re going to ask her to marry you and I trust you to do it, though just know I’ll always be there for back up.”
Lisa was confused but she opened the album.
“Jennie’s old photo album?” Lisa asked when she looked at a picture. “Wait—no, that can’t be Jennie. She’s missing her cute little mole under her eyebrow.” Lisa turned the page and looked at another picture. “That’s definitely not Jennie. Jisoo, what the hell, did Jennie have a twin or something she didn’t tell me about.”
“I knew you were in love with her but damn, that just proved it even more for me. I didn’t even notice that. I only realized it because of the guy with the porn stache.”
“Porn stache, what? Jisoo, I know your mind resides in another dimension or something just like mine is in the clouds all the time but what in the world? Is this one of your pranks because I’m very confused right now, beyond normal standards.”
Jisoo sat down, the same serious expression on her face and Lisa knew she was a great actress but this seemed different so she listened and Jisoo told her the most shocking story she had ever heard those next few minutes.
Lisa was suddenly happy Jennie took such long showers because she was still processing.
“You can’t tell her just yet.” Jisoo said, taking in Lisa’s shocked state, knowing she was literally going to run and drag Jennie out of the shower to tell her as soon as she got over her shock.
“I’m not keeping this from her.” Lisa said immediately.
“I know, and I’m not asking you to. I want you to tell her, she deserves to know. But Jennie doesn’t know her fake mother has been arrested. Alice played nice with her lawyer to get the upper hand.
She let the judge let her out on bail and didn’t argue as long as she had a tracking anklet since she’s a flight risk because she has so much money, that account can’t be her only one. She could flee the country but she played that move so they would relax.
They think the case is going to get thrown out because what judge would let that woman out of jail. Alice had to do that though, because dear aunt Kim still has the fabricated evidence. She still has leverage and could threaten us with it any time and let it out.
The timing needs to be perfect. Alice lost the pretrial stuff on purpose so Mrs. Kim has no reason to use it because once she does she’s done for. So is Scarlett, and Jennie, and especially her nonprofit.
Jennie caters mostly to kids Lisa, this would ruin her. It would destroy her dream if word got out that her mother was supposedly a serial killer. Even if they proved her innocence, it would be too late. The timing needs to be perfect. Rosie already helped.”
“Rosie knows!?” Lisa asked incredulously, feeling slightly betrayed.
“You know I can’t keep anything from her. She’s the first person I told when my mother told me, and don’t you dare get angry with her because you know she’s just trying to do what’s right and she knows how impulsive you are and the fact you can barely keep a secret.”
Lisa frowned and shrugged. That was pretty true.
“Rosie sat down with Irene and her anchor friend Joy.”
“The hot one from SBS?” Lisa blurted out and then clapped a hand over her mouth and looked around. “Wait, wait, I didn’t say that. I never said that. It just came out I swear! I used to think she was hot, not anymore, she’s really not even that hot. Jennie is way way way hotter. Jennie makes her look like a troll!”
Jisoo smirked at the fact Lisa was so panicked for finding another woman attractive that wasn’t her baby cousin. Lisa was still rambling.
“Honestly, she’s ugly, I don’t know why I ever thought she wasn’t. I don’t like her face. My baby brat has a perfect face. You’re not going to tell Nini I said she was hot right? Because she’s not. I don’t like her. She seems like a bitch.”
“Relax Limario, I’ll save the fact you’re crushing on the news anchor for another day.”
“I’m NOOOOOOT!” Lisa whined, standing up and panicking. “I hate her, she sucks. She does, I know it!”
Jisoo rolled her eyes.
“I’m kidding, and she doesn’t suck, she’s going to help save your girl so relax. I won’t tell your girl about any of this because we need her and I don’t need Jennie murdering the girl that’s going to help us make it happen just because you found her attractive once upon a time.”
Lisa looked at her dubiously but Jisoo held her hand out and they did their truce handshake again and Lisa finally relaxed.
It was just a stupid handshake, but it was sacred to them and Lisa nor Jisoo would ever break a promise like that. They may both be menaces but they valued promises and loyalty above all else and if that handshake was done they both knew the promise was basically until death.
“Now that you’ve stopped freaking out, I can continue. Jendeukie is going to be out of the shower any minute you idiot, so let me finish.
Joy is going to put out the true story during the trial, when aunt Kim can’t do anything about it. She’ll think she’s going to win and by the time she comes out once she loses, the facts will be out and she won’t be able to signal whoever else has that fake evidence as revenge to stain Scarlett’s reputation. It can only be done then or she’ll spook and do it sooner, you got it?
You only have to keep this from her for a couple of months, when the trial starts. Rosie and I will make sure she doesn’t find out through the news and you take her on a nice date during our trip and tell her.”
“When is the trial exactly?”
Jisoo told her the date.
“I think we need to skip wherever we planned to go after that and go to Busan instead.” Lisa said immediately.
“I don’t think Rosie will mind if I miss a show. Jennie’s a tough girl, but she’s going to break when she hears her biological mother, who actually loved her is dead. Is your mom still in contact with Scarlett’s old friends? As sweet and thoughtful as they are, those letters won’t be enough for her. I thought maybe I could take her there to meet them?”
Jisoo smiled, glad that Lisa was on the same page as her. She’d planned to do that too.
“I didn’t ask you before because there’s still a risk that the trial will run longer, I doubt it though, my future sister in law is a bad ass lawyer but just in case. Still, we made sure Rosie wouldn’t have a show that weekend so we could all go.
All Jennie wanted was a mother’s love, you’re right, the truth is going to be bittersweet for her. She needs to hear how much she was loved those six months before her mother passed away. There’s a few nurses that worked with Jennie’s mom still in that hospital. That’s not the best part though, Scarlett’s best friend is still alive.
She’s the one that wrote that ten page letter in the beginning of the album. I haven’t read it yet of course but it’s clear she knew her well. She’s already agreed to meet with us when the time comes.”
Lisa got up and gave Jisoo a rare hug that Jisoo returned.
“Thank you for taking care of her when I couldn’t.”
“You’ve done well so far Limario, that’s the only reason I’m happy to pass the torch. I trust you with her.” Jisoo said honestly. “Now don’t be an idiot and screw it up and tell her too soon. Hide that well while we travel and hurry up and get ready before she catches on. I know you’re an awful liar especially when it comes to her. I’m trusting you.”
“I think for the first time in my life, I’ll actually be able to lie to her because it’s for her own good.”
“Yeah, I think so too.” Jisoo agreed, shoving her out of the office playfully so Lisa could finish getting ready. “Chop chop Limario!”
“Aye aye cap’n.” Lisa said, saluting her through her giggles and running out of the room.
