Nicolas was acting weird.
He was hiding his phone, when someone called he would leave the room to talk to them and he even started to get panicky when Kai questioned him.
Kai was starting to overthink every little thing his boyfriend was doing and some extremely unwanted thoughts arose in his mind for the past two weeks.
As Kai walked out of the university building he walked towards the parking lot where Nicolas said he would wait. Kai had finished his class a little earlier so he figured he would wait there.
It was their last year in university and they were both extremely excited to get it done and over with.
When Kai started to get closer to the practically empty parking lot and he noticed Nicolas was already there and he was talking to a boy that looked around their age.
He was quite short and was smiling widely up at Nicolas as they talked. They were talking quietly and both smiling, making Kai frown. Nicolas said something and the boy started giggling. Annoyance started bubbling into Kai and he fastened his steps until he reached his boyfriend.
When Nicolas heard footsteps he turned around and his smile dropped a bit before he hurriedly fixed it and greeted Kai. “Hi baby.”
“Hi.” Kai muttered and then grabbed Nicolas’s face and quickly pecked his lips before turning to the boy who was smiling even wider?
“I’ll catch you later Nicolas!” He said and then nodded at Kai before bounding off.
“Who was that?” Kai asked, turning to his boyfriend.
“Um a classmate.” He said.
“I’ve never seen him before.” Kai said.
“He-he’s new!” Nicolas said but Kai only raised his eyebrows before turning away.
“Whatever.” He muttered getting into the car and crossing his arms.
Nicolas also got in and he turned to look at his adorable little baby with a smirk. “Baby, are you jealous?”
“Should I be?” Kai asked, turning to Nicolas, dropping his glare.
Kai has been already torturing himself with doubts and thoughts he shouldn’t be having and he’s completely terrified of something actually solidifying those thoughts.
Nicolas softened when he noticed that Kai was genuinely feeling bad about what he saw.
“I promise Kai, he’s just a friend. There’s absolutely nothing for you to worry about.” He assured raising his hands to cup Kai’s face.
“Why have you been acting so weird?” Kai asked quietly.
“What do you mean, love?” Nicolas asked with confusion.
“I mean.. like you always leave the room when someone’s calling and you don’t show me your phone anymore.” Kai confessed and Nicolas’s eyes widened when he realized what Kai was thinking.
“I’m not doing anything of what you’re thinking, I promise. Don’t you trust me?” He asked and Kai’s eyes widened.
“I do! But I can’t..I can’t help it. I love you so much and I’m so scared that you..you’ll get tired of me or that-” before Kai could finish his sentence Nicolas opened the car door and went out, slamming the door behind him.
Kai flinched at the sound and he watched Nicolas make his way towards him and then he opened his door.
Before Kai could even say something Nicolas had grabbed the back of his head and pressed his lips against his in a deep, punishing kiss.
Kai whimpered when Nicolas moved his hand to the front of his throat and squeezed. He grabbed his shoulders as Nicolas moved his other hand to grab Kai’s knee and part his legs as he moved closer to him.
When Nicolas pulled away he was still holding Kai’s throat in his hold and he made sure his angel was looking at him before saying, “I will never get tired of you. I want you to get these thoughts out of your head, baby.”
Kai nodded with flushed cheeks and Nicolas smiled dropping his hand, instead hugging Kai to his chest. “I love you Kai, more than you know and nothing will ever change that.”
“I’m sorry.” Kai mumbled.
“It’s okay, love. I just want you to tell me things like this more often, I know it’s hard for you because you think it’s stupid or embarrassing but whenever you start to overthink something I want you to tell me immediately, okay?” Nicolas said, pulling away and bending down to look at Kai.
“Okay.” Kai mumbled.
Nicolas smiled and kissed his forehead. “Good boy.”
As they started driving towards their apartment that was ten minutes away from campus Kai turned to Nicolas. “I still want to know why you won’t show me your phone.”
“I promise you will find out soon, like tomorrow.” Nicolas said and furrowed his brows.
“Why can’t I know now?” Kai asked and then his eyes widened.
“Tomorrow is our anniversary!” Kai exclaimed.
“Is it because you’re planning a surprise?” He grinned and Nicolas shrugged, “you’ll just have to wait and see.”

Kai was waiting for Nicolas to pick him up for their date outside of their building, holding his gift in his hand, since he didn’t want to wait inside.
Nicolas had told him he needed to prepare a few things before they could go so that’s why Kai was now looking like a weirdo standing in the middle of the parking lot.
He was wearing a white turtleneck and his black jacket on top, paired with his black pants. He had nicely brushed his hair.
After a few more moments of waiting he saw Nicolas’s car driving in and he smiled. When Nicolas got out of the car he frowned and immediately wrapped Kai in his warm arms.
“How many times did I tell you not to wait outside? It’s cold.” He chastised rubbing Kai’s back.
“It’s not that cold and I was getting restless waiting inside.” Kai said, pulling away from the hug and then walked over to the car.
“Come on let’s go!” He called over his back as he got into the car and settled in his seat.
Nicolas followed suit and then they were on the road with some song playing from the radio. “Where are we going?” Kai asked.
“You know I’m not telling you, love.” Nicolas smiled, shaking his head while Kai pouted.
When they arrived Kai’s face broke into a grin as he turned to stare at his boyfriend.
“We’re back?”
“We’re back.”
They got out of the car and walked inside the hotel where they had their first date. Kai smiled at the memory of that wonderful night.
They once again took the elevator to the rooftop and when Kai saw that it looked exactly as it had four years ago, with a few differences here and there, he couldn’t contain the large grin on his face.
“I love you.” He told Nicolas as he jumped into his arms with a sweet laugh leaving his lips.
“I love you baby.” Nicolas whispered as he swayed Kai in his arms.
“Come on let’s eat and then we can switch gifts yeah?” Nicolas asked and Kai nodded before furrowing his eyebrows.
“Where’s your gift?” He asked as he looked around and Nicolas smiled.
“It’s here, don’t worry.” He chuckled as he grabbed Kai’s hand and led him to the table set up with their food and a candle.
Kai sat down and he laughed when he saw that Nicolas made the lasagna again as well. They ate quietly with a few short conversations here and there and then when they were done they went and sat down on the couch, their bodies cuddling.
“I can’t believe you recreated our first date.” Kai sighed as he looked around him. “How can you be so perfect?”
“I’m not perfect.” Nicolas chucked with a shake of his head. “But I’m glad you like it, love.”
“Can I have my gift now?” Kai asked as he looked up at his boyfriend with his wide eyes.
“Of course.” Nicolas said and then unwrapped his arms from around him and stood up.
“Wait here okay?” He said and Kai nodded with an excited smile.
Nicolas went back to the table and then he picked up.. a book?
He came back and handed the book to Kai who grabbed it and realized he didn’t even know what it was. But then his eyes strayed to the author’s name, his eyes widened in complete shock.
“N-Nicolas! This is your name!” He exclaimed and Nic grinned.
“Open it baby.” He told him and Kai did as told.
His eyes ran over the words that were written in the dedication and tears filled his eyes when he read it.
To my love, may we spend the rest of our lives together. I love you Kai and I will always love you, for the rest of my life.
When Kai looked up at Nicolas, his vision blurred with tears he dropped the book on his lap when he saw Nicolas kneeling before him, holding a ring.
“Kai, I don’t even know what to say except the fact that I can never imagine a single moment in my life where you won’t be in it. I want every moment to be spent with you. I want to spend the rest of my life loving you, caring for you and giving you anything and everything you want.” As Nicolas spoke more tears spilled down Kai’s face.
“Will you marry me baby?” Nicolas asked.
Kai shook his head as more tears fell and Nicolas’s eyes widened in shock.
“W-what?” He asked as he stood up and tried to hug a crying Kai.
“You don’t want to?” He asked as he hugged him and Kai shook his head.
“It’s okay baby, don’t cry.” Nicolas said as his heart broke but Kai continued to cry.
“Look! I’ll throw the ring away.” Nicolas said as he got up and was ready to go and throw the ring out of the rooftop.
Kai grabbed his wrist stopping him from turning around and when Nicolas turned around he saw Kai smiling.
“D-don’t throw the ring.” Kai said as he wiped his face. “I want it.”
“But you said-” Nicolas started saying but he stopped as Kai jumped in his arms, wrapping his limbs around him.
“I was joking. I didn’t mean to shake my head and then you panicked so I thought why not?” Kai chuckled but Nicolas frowned and pulled away from him, putting Kai back in his feet.
“I can’t believe you did that.” He said and Kai pouted.
“I’m sorry, I love you.” He said trying to kiss his lips but Nicolas moved his head away.
“No.” He muttered, turning away.
“But babeeee.” Kai whined. “I didn’t mean to, I’m sorryyy.”
“Do you know how nervous I was? I’ve been planning this for weeks.” Nicolas said. “And then you made me think you didn’t want to marry me.”
Kai’s face dropped when he realized he had truly hurt Nicolas.
His face brightened when he remembered his own gift and he went and grabbed the small box from the bag.
“Ouch!” He yelled after getting into position which immediately caught Nicolas’s attention and as he turned around his eyes widened and his mouth dropped when he saw Kai kneeling in front of him, holding a ring box.
“I’m sorry Nicolas. I love you so much and I want to marry you just as much as you. Will you please let me make it up to you? Will you let me spend my life with you? Will you marry me?” Kai asked.
Nicolas stood there, in shock before snapping out of it and stuck his tongue out at Kai. “No.”
Kai laughed as he got up and hugged Nicolas before he could move away. “Don’t be a baby. I thought I was the baby?”
Nicolas’s lip lifted up in a small smile as he finally relaxed in his arms and he wrapped his arms around him.
“Fine I’ll marry you but only if you marry me first.” He mumbled and Kai smiled.
“Is your book going to get published?” Kai asked, pulling away and grabbing the book from the couch.
“It’s in preparation. This is the first paperback copy and I got it for you.” Nicolas said.
“That’s why I’ve been hiding my phone. People have been calling and messaging me about it. The boy you saw me talking to yesterday came to deliver it to me.” Nicolas explained.
“I can’t believe it.” Kai mumbled as he stared at the book in amazement.
“I’m so proud of you Nic.” He told his fiancée.
“Thank you baby.” Nicolas smiled and then he grabbed Kai’s hand and slid the ring before he could move away.
“Do you like it?” He asked and Kai grinned as he looked down at the silver ring with a small blue gemstone in the middle of it. “I love it.”
Kai grabbed the ring he got and took hold of Nicolas’s hand, slipping the ring on his ring finger.
“Do you like yours?” Kai asked and Nicolas nodded.
“I love it.” He said as he kissed Kai’s forehead.
“Why do you have such a big gift bag if this was the gift?” Nicolas asked as he stared at the bag.
“To throw you off.” Kai said in an obvious tone and Nicolas chuckled.
“Come on let’s go.” He said getting up and grabbing everything.
“Where?” Kai asked as he got up as well.
“To our room of course.” Nicolas smirked. “And this time it’s exactly for what you’re thinking.”
Kai blushed but he was nevertheless excited for what was to come. As they got into the elevator Nicolas grabbed his hand and tightly held it in his.
As soon as they got into their room Nicolas dropped his things and grabbed Kai’s face, capturing his lips in a searing kiss.
Kai wrapped his arms around Nicolas and kissed him back with just as much passion. Nicolas raised his hand and slid off Kai’s jacket from his shoulder making it fall to ground and then he pushed Kai back until his knees hit the bed and he fell down on his back.
Nicolas grabbed his ankles, taking off his shoes and socks before getting on the bed on his knees and grabbing the hem of Kai’s black pants that he slowly slid off, all while keeping eye contact with his blushing fiancée.
When Kai’s pants fell to the floor Nicolas parted his legs and then he took off his own shirt before laying on top of Kai, in between his legs.
He grabbed Kai’s turtleneck and rolled it over until it reached his chin and then he started to kiss on Kai’s chests.
As he trailed his lips upwards starting from Kai’s abdomen he decided to just take the turtleneck off to be able to have access to his neck. He started kissing and sucking on Kai’s sweet spot making him squirm in need.
“N-Nicolas.” Kai whined when Nicolas didn’t move away from the spot.
“What?” Nicolas asked as he gently took Kai’s bottom lip in between his teeth.
Kai raised his legs and wrapped them around Nicolas and then he kissed him, cupping his  face to prevent him from moving.
Nicolas let Kai lead the kiss and then he started to roll his hips against Kai making them both grunt.
“Take off your pants.” Kai murmured, breaking the kiss and Nicolas smiled at him.
“Patience baby. I want to take this slow and if we’re both naked I won’t be able to do that.” Nicolas told him, softly kissing his forehead.
“Do you know how much I love you?” Nicolas asked, running his hand over Kai’s chest and kissing his jaw.
“I-I do.” Kai said and Nicolas hummed.
“How much?”
“Half of how much I love you.” Kai said cheekily and Nicolas chuckled darkly.
“We both know that’s a lie, sweetheart.” He said.
“I love you more than anything in the world Kai.” He told him looming over his body.
“Oh yeah?” Kai asked with raised eyebrows and then he grabbed Nicolas’s face and brought him down until his body fell on top of him completely, without support.
“Then prove it.” Kai whispered in his ear.
“Oh I’m planning on it.” And then Nicolas swooped down and captured Kai’s lips once again.
I know, I know NO DETAILS. I’m sorry, I really am but I just can’t write that. I did try but it didn’t work out lmao so I gave up. But I still hope you guys enjoyed this bonus chapter.
I have other things to make up for the lack of details.
First of all this chapter is dedicated to echoicbae who helped me come up with the proposal ideas.

This is Nicolas.
In my opinion he’s also very good looking but the reason Kai was always the one getting attention is because Nicolas is always giving the “don’t talk to me” vibe to people who aren’t Kai or his friends. I did say in one of the chapters in the beginning that some people would try to strike a conversation with him but he would legit just ignore them.
I unfortunately don’t know the guys real name but I found a picture of him on Pinterest.

Now if any of you guys are interested in Kai and Nicolas when they were kids these are the specific chapters that they appear in my first book:
Chapter 15 ( the end of it) chapter 16 and there’s a small glimpse of them in chapter 17. Those chapters are what happened to Kai and Nic after the prologue.
There’s also chapter 21 and it’s the day that Kai stopped eating strawberries I know some people said it was dumb but he made the decision as a kid and he stuck with it till well forever.
