The continuous buzzing of his phone made him wake up. Opening his eyes and reaching for the device on the coffee table, it stopped ringing as soon as he grabbed it. Looking around, he felt the lack of something.
Edwin. Edwin wasn’t there. He remembered watching TV, sitting next to each other before he had fallen asleep. Maybe he was in the bathroom. He unlocked his phone to see who’s been stubbornly calling him. It was Finn. He got concerned, as Finn never really called him that many times. He had 8 missed calls, and it was 10PM, meaning he had slept for about 2 hours already. Pressing the call button, he waited till the other picked up.
“Fucking finally! Why the fuck do you not answer your phone?”
Aiden groaned, taking the phone away from his ear to lessen the sound of Finn’s shouting.
“I was asleep. What’s up?”
“Your boyfriend being wasted is up.”
“What?! My boyfriend?!” He was confused. His boyfriend who?!
“Yes, Aiden. Your boyfriend Edwin is here at the Moon club and he is drunk as fuck. Get here as fast as possible.” He hung up.
Aiden looked at his phone screen for a couple of seconds, confused, and when he finally understood what Finn had said, he jumped up from the couch. Calling out Edwin’s name and searching for him, he figured he was really not in the apartment, so he quickly changed his clothes and put a mask on, grabbed his car keys, and left for the club.
He arrived in less than 10 minutes, as it was in their neighborhood. He was a VIP there, so he didn’t have to wait in the line and he headed straight toward the bar where Finn texted him they’d be. Looking around, he saw the group of his friends. All of them. But there was no sign of Edwin. Approaching them with a worried look on his face, he shook Brad’s hand first. “
Where’s Edwin?”
Brad pointed at the dance floor and Aiden’s jaw went slack. There he was, the blue-haired beauty, dancing face to face with some stranger. The stranger guy had his hand on Edwin’s waist and Aiden noticed how he started pulling the younger closer to him slowly. Edwin had his eyes closed and his head a little fallen backward, just dancing to the music. His blood started boiling when the said guy started caressing Edwin’s neck, leaning forward. He made his way to the two dancing men and yanked Edwin away from the guy.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” The stranger shouted angrily.
“I think you’ve touched him enough already.” Aiden tightened his grip on Edwin’s wrist without realizing it himself.
Edwin, who had opened his eyes at the shock of being pulled away suddenly, placed his hand on Aiden’s, as his wrist was hurting a bit due to the pressure.
“Who the fuck are you to decide who he’s touched by?” The man spat.
“That’s none of your business.” Aiden threw the man a death glare before pulling Edwin by the grip on his wrist away with him to the bar where others were. He made Edwin sit on a chair, still holding onto him tightly.
Edwin looked him in the eyes as soon as he was seated and found Aiden’s gaze almost scary with how intense it was. But he was a psychiatrist. He knew not to show weakness in these situations, so he just kept the eye contact while remaining quiet, although he’d much rather look away from it. Aiden’s gaze suddenly turned into something soft as he sighed and looked at him again.
“Are you okay?” He asked gently. Edwin nodded.
“Did the asshole bother you in any way?”
Edwin shook his head. He couldn’t go longer because his wrist was really hurting now. He looked down and tried to free his hand from the older’s grip. Aiden, who got shocked by the sudden realization of how much pressure he was implying, let go of his wrist and looked at him with a worried expression.
“Are you okay? Did I hurt you? Does it hurt a lot?” He kept asking as he rolled the younger’s sleeve up to see his wrist. It was a bit red where he had held. Well, maybe a little more than a bit cos Edwin had a rather delicate skin, that was why he was always covered in hickeys.
“Oh my god, Edwin, I’m so sorry. Why didn’t you say anything?” The older moved his head down, placed a few kisses on the skin and caressed it smoothly in order to soothe the bothered flesh. Edwin just sat there looking at him intently.
Across from them stood their friends, looking at them in shock and joy at the same time. They knew Edwin loved Aiden, it was too obvious! But what they didn’t know was that Aiden was already feeling the same, if not more. They had thought Aiden liked the guy, but they didn’t know he was in that deep already.
“Wow, he really has a soft spot for that kid. If it was me dancing with a stranger while being touched like that, he would be yelling at me for three hours straight.” Ian stated nonchalantly and shrugged, “Come on Joeeee, let’s dance!” He dragged his boyfriend away from the bar to the dance floor.
“Are you by any chance jealous of his behavior toward Edwin?” Joe asked carefully while dancing and holding Ian close, his hands on his waist.
“What? No! I was just trying to point out the fact that Den really loves him.”
“He really loved you too, but he still couldn’t help but have a small fight when things like this happened.”
“Well, maybe it’s because things like this happened a little too many times when it came to me and I’m just as hot-headed as he is, so it’s fun fighting between us. It always ended in angry se-” He stopped talking as he realized he was spilling too much tea. Joe’s eyes widened.
“Angry sex? Wow, why am I not even surprised.” He chuckled. “But what do you mean it happened too many times?”
Ian shrugged. “Well, you know how I think body contact doesn’t have to mean anything and dancing with a stranger can’t do any harm as I love dancing and clubbing whereas that bun- I mean Aiden doesn’t like it, so I found myself dancing partners a few times and he caught me for some of it. It’s not like I was cheating or anything, but he still made such a big fuss about it.”
“Sometimes I wonder how you two got along all those years.” Joe shook his head and kissed Ian, both giggling. It was the same for Joe. He didn’t mind body contact, so he got what Ian was saying.
“Dude, how could you leave him alone in that state? What if we haven’t found him here tonight?” Max said, putting his hand on his brother’s shoulder from behind as he was bending while still caressing Edwin’s wrist and blowing on it. Edwin had his other hand on his lap and was sitting quietly, looking at the older’s actions. Aiden stopped and stood straight upon hearing that.
“What do you mean? I thought you guys came here together?!”
“No!! We came here, and we saw him sitting there drinking shot after shot alone.” Finn explained, and Aiden turned to look at Edwin with worried eyes.
“Has something happened? Did you two fight? He is too pure for your poisonous behavior, Aiden! You should be nice to him.”
“I am nice to him, thank you very much, and he is stronger than you think, so shut up.” He said while looking down at Edwin, who seemed a little out of it. He bent down again, checking if the skin was less red when he felt a hand on his head. Edwin was stroking his hair.
“It’s okay. It doesn’t hurt anymore.” The younger almost whispered.
Aiden crouched down in front of him, holding his hand in his, rubbing the smooth skin with his thumbs as he pulled down his mask.
“Why did you come here alone? You could’ve woken me up so we could come together.” He said with a soothing voice.
“You were sleeping so beautifully. I couldn’t bring myself to wake you up. You know how little sleep you get.” The younger kept stroking his hair.
“Why did you drink so much? What’s bothering bluewin so much to have him poison himself, hm?” He asked and placed a gentle kiss on the back of the boy’s hand. Edwin smiled shortly at the nickname.
“I wanna quit the hospital.” He said without hesitation.
Aiden froze. “What?!”
Edwin nodded to show he was serious.
“Okay, let’s get you home so you can sober up, and then we will talk about this.” He stood up and helped Edwin stand as well.
The younger’s legs felt weak, so he leaned on Aiden. “Home? Where’s home? We’re going to my home?” He asked, curious like a kid with huge eyes.
“Home. You know, home home. My home, Edwin. Why? Do you wanna go to your place instead?”
Edwin hummed. “Hmmm, I miss my apartment.” He pouted and frowned cutely.
Aiden pecked his lips quickly, smiling, and paid for the check. “Okay, we’ll go to your place tonight, good?”
Edwin smiled widely at the news and hugged him tightly, circling his hands around his neck. Aiden was absolutely melting by the amount of cuteness Edwin was showing. Sure, the boy was cute overall, but he was a bit stiff when being sober and around others. He would even maintain a poker face most of the time if it was necessary, although at the hospital, he was smiling most of the time. This cute side of him, though, he had just seen very few times, and he loved it. He was like a kitten when he was all clingy and pouty like this.
“Okay Edwin, let go of me so we can get going.”
Edwin shook his head rapidly. “Noooo, I don’t wanna waaaaalk. It’s too hard. Just take me there. What are all those muscles for?”
He knew where this was coming from. The younger was implying that he should just hug him and get him out of there so he wouldn’t have to walk. He had spoiled him by carrying him around all the time during their sexy times, apparently.
“It’s a club, Edwin. Everyone would be watching. You hate that kind of attention, don’t you?”
With that, Edwin quickly let go and tugged at his bicep instead. “I hate people.”
Aiden laughed, but stopped himself by chewing on his lips. He took out his phone and turned the camera on immediately. “Hey, Edwin, look up.”
The other did as asked and, as soon as he did, Aiden captured a photo and laughed out.
“Fuck you! Don’t!” He frowned and covered his face with his free hand, still holding onto Aiden’s bicep for dear life.
“Yo! Aiden! Stop teasing him already and get him home or he’ll pass out any minute right here. And then you’ll really have to carry him out!” Brad said, laughing as well.
Aiden finally managed to stop. “Okay okay! See you later, guys. Thanks for calling me and all.” He waved his hand and turned the other way, holding Edwin’s thin waist, helping him stand properly.
On their way to Edwin’s house, he kept humming a melody that Aiden didn’t know. It was somehow familiar, but he couldn’t pinpoint it. The younger suddenly turned to him.
“Can we go to the beach?” He was as excited as a kid.
“The beach?! Right now?!” Aiden looked at him for a second before looking back at the road.
The boy nodded several times with a wide smile. “Pleeeease.”
Aiden chuckled upon seeing him like that. “Got it. We’re going to the beach then.” He turned the car in the beach’s direction, and Edwin was as happy as he could be in a drunken state.Â
