Yo~ Are you ready? I’ll see you in a bit at the press!

The day millions of people were waiting for finally came, and Aiden’s new album was released. A press for the album was being held at the Art center’s concert hall in the evening.

When Aiden set foot on the stage and saw thousands of his fans, cheering and screaming for him, he felt so overwhelmed, he couldn’t keep himself together. He broke into tears that very second as he kept looking at the beautiful people that were standing on their feet for him. Bringing both of his hands to his mouth, he bit his lips hard to maintain some self-control back.

“Okay, sit down. I think he won’t stop crying as long as you’re cheering for him.” The MC said.

“Hiii!!” Aiden managed to say without his voice cracking. “I’m sorry I’m being like this. It’s just been too long since the last time I saw you and I missed all of you so much.” He paused and wiped his tears away with the tissue that was handed to him. They all sat down in their chairs.

“To be honest, I kind of thought that… because of two long hiatuses back to back, I’d lost many fans, but seeing you here like this just reminded me that my fans are loyal to me.”

Everyone started saying encouraging words to him but because there were around 15k people present there, none of the words were understandable, but it was still heart-warming.

“So… did you like the album?”

‘Yes~’ They all replied.

“I actually wanted to promote it with the same hair in the MV but it’s been so long since we filmed it that it felt like repeating the past so I dyed it purple. Is that okay?”

‘Yes~’

Aiden giggled and spent a few more seconds just looking at them until the MC started talking.

“There are 9 tracks in the album plus the intro. We were listening to them just before this and… all of them are good! There wasn’t a single average track in it! How do you do this?! Did you do everything yourself again this time?”

Aiden chuckled at the compliment. He could never get used to it. “Thank you so much! Yeah. I did everything. But you know, there are always people I get advice from and ask for their opinion and have them fix small parts.”

“So there’s the title track. Which by the way had a very beautiful and cinematic music video. Who were the people acting in it?”

“Oh, the director that I usually work with recommended them. They were theater actors from his daughter’s university. He said it’d be more interesting to use new faces instead of actors that are known, so we did. And they’re all really good guys. We had a fun time recording.”

“In track number two, ‘beautiful’, you worked with Patrick and Hyo again. Are you guys a unit now or what?”

“Well, for beautiful, I really wanted rap parts because it wouldn’t have the same dynamics with only vocals. And I love both Patrick and Hyo so much and we’re all under the same label, our voices also match, so yeah! We’ll probably work together more in the future. Did you like beautiful, guys?”

‘Yeeees~’

‘Edwin’s very beautiful, Aiden!’ One of the girls screamed at the top of her lungs and everyone burst out laughing.

“Ooh, Edwin, your boyfriend, right?” The MC asked.

“Yeah!” Aiden nodded, still laughing.

“Where is he? Is he here?”

“Uh,” He hesitated, “Yeah… he’s backstage.”

“So is he beautiful? I haven’t seen him yet.” The MC wiggled his eyebrows teasingly.

“He’s very beautiful.” Aiden felt pride bubbling in his chest, being able to talk about him so openly like this.

“Okay, so you wrote beautiful for Edwin. Which of the other tracks were for him? Or is the whole album for him?” The MC’s teasing was never-ending as it seemed, and Aiden found himself laughing and clapping like the audience.

“Actually, there’s a song in this album, ‘Time machine’, that Edwin wrote the lyrics for.”

“He’s a lyricist?” The guy asked, shocked.

“Uh, no, but he writes poems, and I really loved this one, so I asked whether I could use it and he said yes.”

“That was my favorite track! I was thinking you should’ve made it the title track while listening.”

“Oh really? Thank you! Yeah it’s a really beautiful song and mostly it’s because of the lyrics, they’re really touching. But I added it to the album later on. We’d recorded the MV already back then, so we couldn’t change the title track.”

After that, the MC asked Aiden to talk about the album and each song a bit.

“To be honest, I did write most of this album thinking about Edwin. Each of them has its own story and contains my feelings on a different day. Like, I wrote ‘Where are you’ while I was on tour, we were thousands of kilometers apart and… I was missing him like crazy! Being a singer and going on tour has these things to it. You’ll be apart from your loved ones most of the time. You have to really love your job to be able to handle it.” Aiden said, shrugging with a huge smile on his face. The audience went ‘awwww’

“So that’s why you were all ‘Where are you what are you doing’ in the song. Got it.” The MC nodded. “And the rest?”

“The first 5 tracks are just me ranting about him and how much in love I am.” Aiden giggled. “The next two are about my beautiful fans. I wanted to gift them songs that they can dance to and have fun with. The song with Edwin’s lyrics has a different story to it that I can’t share.”

“And ‘stay if you may’? That song was really sad.”

“Stay if you may is… ” He moved in his seat a bit. “You know, most people are still not accepting the LGBTQ+ individuals and are giving them a really hard time. I could easily just live in the shadows and no one would ever know that I’m gay, but I didn’t like it. I wanted to be a strength to others like me. A face to tell them that it’s okay. There’s nothing wrong with us. But still, as I said, there are so many people struggling and attacking. When rumors of me dating a guy again started spreading, there were thousands of hate mails and hate comments which I always ignore. Because I know myself, and I know what they say about me is not true. I’m not dirty. I’m not committing any kind of sin or doing anything illegal. I’m just loving someone with my whole heart, and I don’t know why that should offend anyone. If anything, it’s a sacred thing, love is a sacred thing. Anyway, when Edwin’s face and identity were revealed, he had a really hard time. People kept surrounding him, reporters and media, they wouldn’t leave him alone. To the point that he actually was attacked and got wounded and we had to get him bodyguards. At that period of time, seeing how much pressure he was under, I was really scared. Scared of him not being able to deal with it all and just deciding to leave. So that’s how and why I wrote stay if you may. I wanted it to be a song that people like us could use to ask their partners and lovers to stay by their side if possible. And I’m really glad he decided to stay after everything.”

The press went on with various fun events, and they called a few fans on the stage to do matches with. The next morning, the internet was all about Aiden.

‘Worldwide artist, Aiden, explained the reason for coming out of the closet to the public. Aiden’s new album was recently released. At last night’s showcase, he explained why he didn’t stay closeted:

I wanted to be a strength to others like me. A face to tell them that it’s okay.’

‘After many months of waiting, fans got to gather together with their favorite singer, Aiden, in an album press. Just when we thought all of the tracks of the new album were romantic, he dropped the bomb by saying ‘stay if you may’ is dedicated to the pressure LGBTQ+ individuals feel in society: I wanted it to be a song that people like us could use to ask their partners and lovers to stay by their side if possible.’

‘Fans experienced an emotional storm at Aiden’s album press. Last night the artist told the fans the behind story about his song ‘stay if you may’ and had the fans in tears when he said both he and his boyfriend were under attack by media and homophobes.’

Aiden is an actual angel sent on earth by gods. No one can convince me otherwise.

Every song we say that’s it. He can’t get any better. Yet every next song he outshines himself!

Can I just say how in love with this album I am?

Did you watch last night’s press? OMG… He is really an angel. He wrote a whole song to support LGBTQ+ community! Of course it was mainly for Edwin but still! The fact that he talked about it knowing he’d get backlash again was a really brave move. He is a true fighter!
