Flower Of Obsession [Bl] Chapter 9

All chapters are in Flower Of Obsession [Bl]
A+ A-

A/N: Since the previous chapters were more about the cute life of the Valdeen Family, this chapter is officially the starts with Adonia meeting one or two(?) of the love interests.

Now, there is a obsession and a yandere tag for a reason even if it is a very slow build. The love interests won’t be very sunshine or rainbows, they would be morally gray to morally bankrupt.

Now currently most of them are children and won’t do much so no need to be scared already. But there are some love interests who would say questionable stuff.

This is just a short warning for the future chapters that would change in  tone as the characters grow older rather than this chapter.

Take care and stay safe!

A few hours before his departure, his personal maid, Tellana, had been busy as she combed his hair and made him look more beautiful than usual, and had the other maids prepare floral-scented baths for him, and applied different kinds of lotions to make his skin soft and smooth. She had the wardrobe maid help him pick out luxurious and fashionable clothes.

Of course, she was following Duchess Valdeen’s orders, but he could tell she was serious about preparing him for his first gathering with the other noble children at the Imperial Palace.

Fortunately, they recovered well and she decided to return back to the estate. Due to her good performance here, she was allowed to work again and serve Young Master Valdeen.

“Tillie, there’s no need to push yourself,” Adonia said, as he watched himself in the mirror while Tellana styled his hair.

“Today is the day that will determine your future, Young Master Valdeen. I come from a humble family, but I am aware of how magical a first social experience can be. You must make a great impression, worthy of a flower boy like you,” she said, as she beamed at him.

Adonia’s wisteria coloured hair swayed gracefully over his shoulders, the white ribbon tied around it accentuated his soft locks like silk sash draped over a fine sculpture.

He stared intently at his own reflection in the mirror while his personal maid carefully volumized his hair. His teal eyes that shimmered and sparkled were framed by a fair, graceful face, with a soft, delicate expression.

His outfit was tailored to match the soft hue of his eyes, and consisted of a flowing blue-green garment intricately embroidered with silver. The fabric cascaded gracefully from his shoulders and over his slender torso, accentuating his young, noble physique.

“Here, everything is so neatly done.” Tellana giggled as she helped him get up from his small seat.

There were some noises of a scuffling outside.

“Wait! Lord Valdeen!” An exhaustive and urgent cry of a guard was guard behind the closed door.

Just then the door slammed open, crashing hard against the wall behind them, drowning out their bright smiles and laughter, and they turned to face Lord Valdeen, who looked annoyed but with a hint of eagerness and curiosity in his eyes.

“What’s taking you little brat so long—” Mione, who was prepared to spew out his grievances, was soon shell shocked at the sight beholding in front of him.

“Brother, what happened?” Adonia wondered out loud as he watched his loud brother suddenly become silent with his mouth hanging open.

“Hey! Don’t hog the space!” Mylan’s voice rang out as she managed to squeeze herself in by trying to push away Mione but failing.

“Hey, Nia— ah, ah!” And like Mylan also paused in various exclamations and had also become bright faced.

Tellana who already had her head low in a respectful bow to her direct superiors could not help her smile since her mission to completely elevate Adonia’s beauty to the highest level was successfully achieved.

“Come on, children. Let me in.” Meyrin  sighed from behind his two rambunctious children as he was also eager to see Adonia. He also seemed to come out of nowhere since both Mylan and Mione suddenly flinched in surprise and broke out of their dazes as they moved their ways for their Papa to enter.

“Papa!” Adonia grinned as he leaped off to his Papa’s caress who smiled cheerfully.

“You look so beautiful, darling. More beautiful than a flower.” Meyrin hugged Adonia who squealed cutely.

“Really?! Papa! I wore the outfit you chose for me!” Adonia nodded excitedly.

“How very cute. It brings out your eyes perfectly.” Meyrin said.

“Now come on, your dad is waiting.” Meyrin informed Adonia.

They exited the chamber leaving both Mylan and Mione who were still frozen like statues.

“You look splendid, both of you.” Anzo greeted them as he stood before the carriage outside of the estate.

Adonia and Meyrin were escorted by the servants behind them as Meyrin himself came to bid his son farewell.

“Thank you dad! You look handsome as well! Did papa pick your outfit too?”

Anzo’s towering frame was adorned in a well-fitted, midnight-blue coat, the silver thread embroidery shimmering softly. Beneath the coat, a tailored black vest hugged his trim waist, perfectly accentuating his figure. His trousers were crafted from a deep shade of black, tailored to hug his legs, and a crisp, snowy-white shirt completed his sophisticated ensemble.

Anzo hummed an affirmative reply to Adonia, saying that he too would be escorting him to the palace and therefore needed to be dressed, but unfortunately, this gathering was for the children of nobility, so he couldn’t personally guard his son.

“You are calling me gorgeous too, I am barely even wearing anything.” Meyrin laughed out but paused when he realised something in his words had made Anzo’s eyes glisten strangely.

“Are you having bad thoughts, Duke?” Meyrin rolled his eyes, he knew that Anzo was probably picturing him naked as usual.

“I am thinking about how mean my wife is to me since he didn’t give a goodbye kiss.” Anzo half-heartedly sulked.

Just as Anzo and Meyrin kissed each other in the background, Adonia looked down at the ground but he soon turned his head to the entrance of the estate as he sensed someone looking at him.

“Hey!! Brat!!” Mione’s voice rang out and made them all turn their heads to his direction, even the Duke Valdeen and Duchess Valdeen broke out of their sweet moment full of a sweet embrace. He ran out of the entrance of the estate.

He had a gold necklace with a pale lavender locket trimmed in gold in the center, which he tossed to Adonia, who caught it, and Adonia’s eyes widened as she noticed that inside the locket, there was a purple gemstone, with a mana crystal neatly embedded within it.

“Wear this.” He ordered with a huff.

Mylan was also behind Mione who waved at him shyly.

“This is like a  protective charm. It would deflect unwanted advances. Make sure to wear this for safety reasons.” Meyrin kidly explained to him.

“Also…” He suddenly came close to Adonia and started to whisper in his ears.

“This would be less ineffective against royalty due to their superior mana deflective prowess. And it is also considered treasonous to see royalty as a threat.” He slowly and quietly said as if to not want anyone to hear.

Adonia did not say anything but nodded solemnly.

He and his dad said their goodbyes and climbed into the magnificent carriage made of white marble with gold detailing, the white horses that were tied to the carriage  prepared to gallop away as if eager to reach its destination.

Currently, the royal palace in front of them was like a sun glittering brightly.

“I have an appointment with the Emperor and the Duke Yisphen. I will be coming to pick you up later. Be careful.” Anzo said he patted Adonia.

“Yes! I will be careful, dad.” Adonia laughed.

Adonia was then quickly shown the way by the servants to the Imperial Hall that sparkled gold and glimmered of various colours that covered the different faced sons and daughters of nobility with their stylish clothing and bright smiles.

Whispers and murmurs blanketed him like a mist as he tried to give a welcoming smile to ignore his slightly shaky hands at seeing so many gazes on him that were wrapping around his body with a venomous snake’s eerie trail.

He subtly caressed his locket.

“Oh my! Who is that beauty?” A excited voice of a little boy sounded out.

“Ahh, is that the so-called Young Master Valdeen? He really is something..look at that hair!” Another strong voice murmured loudly enough for him to hear.

Adonia decided to perfect his poised stature and remember the teachings of his Papa in his mind.

He had to be the picturesque elegant lily flower: pure and detached to worldly matters yet slightly swayed by the mischievous wind in gentle strides with graceful motions.

He straightened his back and relaxed his arms as he felt the breeze of cold air that was the result of air conditioning mana essence that was being controlled by some of the imperial mages.

Magic is very handy, isn’t it?

“Ummm…Young Master Adonia! My name is Rirka Dilanis and this is my twin brother Rirko Dilanis.” A pair of twins approached him as they bow shyly with flushed faces.

“We are from a family of Viscounts.” The brother announced with a bit of smugness in his tongue.

Adonia raised his eyebrows at such a blatant introduction which was more like an announcement. He was the higher ranking noble among them, so why was the kid being arrogant?

But he was just a kid after all so Adonia didn’t think much of it.

“Such pretty names. My name is Adonia Valdeen. The young master of the Valdeen Duchy. Nice to meet you two.” He smiled kindly, surprising the twins.

“Ahh—”

But before the twins could do anything else, another noble girl interrupted them.

She glanced at the twins who were suddenly quiet, surprising Adonia and then she bowed at him, waiting for him to speak first.

She had light blue hair adorned with a floral headdress and wore a gown covered in blue and white lace with a multi-colored floral motif down the centre of the gown.

And her face was reminiscent of one of the supporting characters, the heroine’s best friend. She must be her young daughter.

“You must be the Second Young Miss Nayla Seinan.”

The Seinan Family which was a County was specifically remembered by him because he had heard that the two heads were an female alpha and female omega couple.

Nayla was surprised to see him know her name.

“The Young Master Valdeen is as splendid as they say.” She smiled.

A small crowd was already forming around them as more and more nobles came to greet him, and Adonia was sweating nervously and panicking in his mind.

He greeted the nobles who approached him and tried to maintain a sense of peace.

“Is it true that the Young Master Valdeen is one of the fiancè candidates of the Crown Prince?” The invasive question nearly made Adonia choke on air.

“No! Where did the Young Master Oerone get such rumours?” The noble child gained harsh criticism for his question.

“Young Master Oerone, what are you talking about?” Nayla grimaced.

“You do know that Lady Yisphen would be furious to learn about such a thing!”

“She is too arrogant, she is just his fiancè candidate after all. Not his actual bride.”

People were starting to get off topic.

“That is not true at all, Young Sir.” Adonia chuckled and brought the attention back to him, he didn’t want some poor girl to be insulted for no good reason after all.

“Why can’t it be? You are so pretty after all. If I was the Crown Prince, I would instantly make you my bride.” Young Master Oerone licked his lips.

Before anyone could stop him, Young Master Oerone reached out to touch Adonia’s face, but his entire person was violently pushed back as the gem hidden in the centre of the locket infused necklace glowed an intense purple and a translucent shield enveloped Adonia’s form.

He fell on his back with a loud groan of pain and collided with some of the other guests.

The other children were shocked at the phenomenon and wanted to lightly chastise Adonia but were instantly at seeing the beautiful face frown and the delicate eyes become cold.

“That was disrespectful, Young Master Oerone.” He had nothing else to say.

He pointedly walked away from the dramatic scene and was duped into talking with another group of noble children who were bombarding with various invasive and annoying questions but fortunately, just as Adonia was about to think of a dignified reply, the loud noise of the trumpets sung by the red uniformed guards surrounding the Imperial Hall distracted all of them.

“All hail, the young sun of the Holy Velasphoria Empire! The Crown Prince Adelian Vien Velasphoria!”

The arrogant scions of the prideful blood of the various noble families were rendered prideless and breathless in front of the unassuming young boy with a face reminiscent of a carefully sculpted demigod statue with his with his sun like golden hair and ruby red eyes as they all bowed lowly in front of him. He was the definition of pure nobility.

Following him was a beautiful young girl with flowing honey coloured blond hair and round purple eyes that was encapsulated . She looked elegant in her outfit that consisted of a cream coloured gown with nature themed white embellishment.

The gold tinted Imperial Hall of celestial might was purified by the splendour of the Crown Prince as he walked on the red carpets with easy and regal steps.

When Adonia finally raised his head and casted his eyes in front of him only to be surprised to find the bright red gaze of the Crown Prince already directed at him instead of the little girl beside him.

The Crown Prince was dressed in a beautiful outfit of crimson silk, its rich fabric shining in the light like the setting sun. The edges of his coat and trousers were embroidered with gold, with striking metallic threads adding an extra touch of opulence to the outfit. Underneath was a vest made of luxurious velvet, its deep colour contrasting beautifully with the red silk outer layer. The trousers fitted the Prince snugly, falling just above his boots, and a gold-buckled belt was worn around his waist, completing his royal look.

He was surely Aedos’ son, his appearance was as handsome and regal as one would expect a dignified and cold Crown Prince to look like.

Some of the other nobleborne scions noticed this as well, as they glanced at both of them envious gazes and the bewildering shaking of their little heads while Young Lady Yisphen slightly frowned.

“May the young sun of the Holy Velasphorian Empire rise with purity and strength!” Adonia bowed once again as the eyes of the Crown Prince felt scorching to his skin.

Adelian did not have anything to say as he redirected his gaze from Adonia’s slender form and started conversing with other nobles.

Adonia slightly pouted but then changed his expression into one of encouragement and confidence as he soon realised since everyone else was distracted by the Crown Prince, it was easy to sneak out of the Hall and into the Imperial Garden which was right beside it.

He wanted to explore the Imperial Palace and was suffocated by the sudden entourage of attention around him.

He slowly looked around and walked with a natural pace, and schooled his features into a calm and indifferent expression. There were a lot of loitering noble kids so the guards weren’t too keen on stopping him.

“A rotten bug like you deserves to be squashed down by true royalty.”

When Adonia realised he had walked quite a distance away where there were less and less people in sight, he was surprised to hear a male voice belonging to a child spouting such violent language.

The groans of another weaker and younger child in pain and the sound of kicking and hitting are terrifying to his ears.

The noises were coming from a hidden corner with bushes and flower beds that had been intentionally placed into being boring and monotonous, making one think not much of it.

Adonia wanted to ignore it but couldn’t help but move his feet to that direction as a loud cracking of bones made him more vigilant and mobile.

Behind the flower bed, he came face to face with one of the main characters of the scene.

A young boy with a handsome face and messy pink hair colour that resembled fallen cherry blossoms was draped in an elegant ensemble of a pure white cotton shirt with neat lace detailing on the collar and cuffs and rich dark red trousers that fitted snugly around his athletic legs. Adonia widened his eyes as he recognized his ruby red eyes, the symbol of the imperial monarchs and was identical to both Emperor Aedos and Crown Prince Adelian.

He must be the Second Prince Eullian Velasphoria.

Beneath him, laying on the ground was a scarred and ragged black haired boy with a blank and cold expression. He was clad humbly in all black and had a worn out dark coloured eyepatch on his right eye.

Eullian was kicking his foot on the boy’s body, making him a canvas of a few small bruises that showed on his exposed arms.

“Let him go!” Words escaped Adonia’s tongue before he could stop them.

Both Eullian and the boy turned their eyes at him, making Adonia flinch but keep a stubborn stance.

Eullian’s eyes glimmered in malice and curiosity as he scoffed and laughed.

“Who the hell are you to command me?” He was referring to Adonia but kept his eyes on the boy who he kicked more harshly.

“Umm…it is unbefitting of an imperial prince to act this way! I will—”

“Are you threatening me?” Eullian narrowed his eyes as he finally retracted his foot from the boy’s body.

He casted his ruby stained gaze onto Adonia as he slightly widened his eyes when he realised what exactly he was looking at.

“How preposterous, I didn’t know the royal palace was so crass that they hired such a young courtesan or do you just look like a child?” He questioned with a mocking guffaw with his gaze preceding his age.

His eyes were not those of a boy, perhaps a year or two older than Adoniah, but those of a greasy old man.

“But then again, my dear scum of an older brother is more into purity and you seemed like a used product.” Eullian laughed to himself.

“Second Prince Eullian, you may be of high rank, but I am also a young master of the Valdeen Duchy. It is certainly displeasing to be subjected to such… outrageous accusations and be referred to crudely.” Adonia gritted out, he made his voice sound as polite as possible but there was a rare occurrence of anger brewing inside his heart.

‘He is a prince , he is a prince, he is a prince. Your family would be in trouble if you punched him.’ He repeated continually in his heart.

Adonia couldn’t believe a mere kid was speaking in such language, it would be a wonder to how he’d be as an adult.

‘He’s not like the simple Aedos at all.’ He thought silently.

He lowered his head towards the ground where the boy lay and was astonished to see that the boy had vanished, as if he was used to escaping so soundlessly.

“What are you looking at?” Eullian should have been offended but he was amused instead, resembling a bored fox who had suddenly had a brazen mouse in its grasp.

“So you are Valdeen’s child. No wonder, you looked familiar.” He smiled like a venomous beast and stepped closer.

Adonia grew nervous as he stepped back.

“It seems the current world of high society is quite relaxed with its teaching of manners and discipline.” His red eyes shone brightly.

“But it’s okay. I’ve always been a pushover compared to my brother.” He reached out and gently stroked Adonia’s hair.

The necklace glowed for a moment but it did not have much effect except for making the Second Prince wince for a second, which he surprisingly didn’t pay mind to.

Adonia frowned and tried to escape Eullian’s grasp, but suddenly a hand gripped his shoulder tightly and was encapsulated with a bit of potent mix of powerful mana, making him nearly cry out in pain.

“Why are you so uncomfortable? My earlier perception of you is just a misunderstanding. With your appearance, you should feel honoured to be seen as wanted instead of being upset. For a Valdeen, you surely are too short tempered.” He chuckled with his grip still intact.

“Surely, your highness would not be jesting. No child wants to be compared with a prostitute, after all.” Adonia furrowed his eyebrows.

“Prostitute? Such a word surely feels ill fitted in your noble tongue. I called you a courtesan. I never said that. It is treasonous to accuse me of things I never did.” He retracted his hand and curved his lips into a taunting smirk.

“But you really had said—”

“THE SECOND PRINCE!!!”

“WHERE IS HE?!??! WHERE IN THE WORLD IS HE?!!”

Eullian retracted his hand from his shoulder and grabbed Adonia’s wrist instead as the sound of footsteps and worried yells made him let out an annoyed huff.

“Let’s go!”

“But where?! I have to return—”

“Come on! You know how much of a scandal it would be if we were caught together! And besides, you will be the one who would be criticised as the omega to be.” Eullian hissed out.

They didn’t even differentiate yet, so would people really assume a young romance between two mere children so quickly?

But only after a minute when they already ran out of the bushes and were in the middle of sneaking out of the garden, Adonia tried to pull back his hand.

“What are you doing?” Eullian frowned.

“Let me go, Prince. I will handle it myself.”

Adonia tried to push aside the earlier talks between him and Eullian, but he couldn’t help but feel the built up resentment in his heart and how unjust it was that a young boy like that black haired child had a prince beat him up for no notable reason.

Eullian smirked as he recognized that Adonia was angry.

“Are you still sour from our earlier conversation? It was just a misunderstanding, was it not?”

“The prince said that it was a compliment.” Adonia saidly coldly.

“I realise it was rude of me to do that.” Eullian admitted but there was not a hint of apology in his face.

“I have to go either way, my dad would be looking for me.” Adonia huffed as he motioned with his eyes to Eullian to remove his hold from his wrists.

“It seems you are still holding onto the coat of your father at your age.” Eullian chuckled.

Adonia dared to glare at Eullian.

“You look so cute glaring like that.” His chuckle turned into boisterous laughter.

Adonia wanted to wipe that laughter off his face but he smirked as he thought of an idea as he narrowed his eyes to look at some of the loitering imperial guards in the corner who didn’t notice them.

“YOUR HIGHNESS THE SECOND PRINCE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” He yelled out loudly, and ignored the heavy stare Eullian threw at him.

Just as the guards became aware of the direction of the scream, Adonia took it as an opportunity to overpower Eullian’s grip on his wrist as the other boy was distracted and was able to make him with withdraw his taut hold. Adonia instantly and absolutely bolted in the other direction.

He ran so fast, he did not even care where he was going, he just wanted to escape Eullian’s clutches but it ended up with him colliding with an unexpected figure.

“How preposterous.” Crown Prince Adelian softly said as he held onto Adonia’s waist in order to stabilise into standing.
