It’s been four days since summer break started. Four days since the party. Four days since I’ve talked to anyone and replied to texts.

The Kalogeras have been blowing up my phone, especially Demitra, but I couldn’t bring myself to answer, not after what happened on friday night.

I don’t know what to think. She broke one of the most important rules of our agreement. But it was to prove our ‘undying love’, so it rules out. Right? She wouldn’t have kissed me if our act wasn’t in jeopardy. She only did it to prove her ex wrong and make him jealous, that’s it.

But what worries me is what I felt in that moment. When she spun me around, her hands holding my waist gently, her eyes looking into mine, my head started spinning. When her soft, full lips met mine, knots formed in my stomach and my heart felt like it was going to burst, almost as if this was something it was waiting for. But my head was screaming ‘no’. It was just, so wrong. She did the one thing I asked her not to do.

My phone started to ring again, making me shift from the position I was in to check who it was. It was Olivia. Maybe I should answer, she has been blowing my phone up too, I don’t want her to worry too much about me.

“Hello” I said after answering the call, my voice coming out raspier than expected. “Bitch where the fuck have you been? You had me worried sick about you.” Olivia said in an angry, yet worried tone. “Sorry Liv, I’m sick.” I lied, illness being the only reasonable excuse. What was I supposed to say? ‘Demitra is not really my girlfriend and we kissed so now I’m being a pussy about it.’ yeah, that’s not gonna happen.

“Are you okay? Do you want me to come over?” my friend asked. “No, you don’t need to do that. I probably just came down with a virus. I’m better tho.” As much as I love company, I don’t want her to come. If she comes, she’ll know that I’m lying. “Oh, okay, hope you feel better.” “Thanks Liv, I have to go. I have another call.” I told her before bidding my goodbye and ending the conversation, leaving my phone on the bedside table and going downstairs to feed my child. That’s the only thing I’ve been getting up to do honestly.

As I was about to head back upstairs, the doorbell made me stop in my tracks. I contemplated whether or not I should open the door. I can just act like no one’s home, but what if it’s important.

The mystery person rang the bell again, pulling me out of my thoughts. You know what? I’m gonna open it. I walked over to the entryway of the house, taking a deep breath as I held on to the doorknob before opening the door.

It has been four days since I’ve seen or talked to Y/n. She hasn’t been answering my texts and my calls go straight to voice mail. Eli and Kailea asked me what’s going on, because from what I can understand, they can’t reach her either and neither can our friends.

After she left the party, I was left there, confused as hell. Why did she leave? Did something happen to her before I came over? Was it wrong of me to kiss her? Millions of questions flooded my mind, not even having an answer to one question.

Ever since the moment we’ve shared and after she went ghost, I’ve been feeling weird. I haven’t been sleeping well, my sleep problems coming back and you could see it by the dark circles under my eyes. It’s like something is eating away at me.

I kept replaying everything that night when I came home, when all of a sudden, it hit me. She specifically said no kissing the day we closed our agreement. I totally forgot about that in my angry state. Seeing red, I acted impulsively, not paying attention to anything else, and it might have just cost me the one person who knows me like the back of their hand.

I was in my room, editing our YouTube video when I got a call from Olivia. “Hey Liv, what’s up?” I asked, putting her on speaker while continuing to edit. “Hey, nothing much, what about you?” “I’m editing our video, I’m bored so I wanted to get it done on time. Have you heard from Y/n?” I really hope she has something she can tell me. “Uh, yeah. She answered my call, finally.” Olivia said, a little relieved that she got a hold of her friend.

“What did she say?” I asked, stopping what I was doing so I could focus on the call. “She said she wasn’t answering because she’s sick.” “What do you mean she’s sick?” “I don’t know, a virus or something.” Olivia said, not fully looped in on the situation. “Oh, okay, thanks for telling me.” “No problem, I have to go, I need to take my brother to soccer practice. Let me know if hear anything from Y/n.” “I will. Bye Liv.” I highly doubt it “Bye.” the beeping sound made itself known as Olivia ended the call, leaving me with questions.

Was she really sick? But even if she was, wouldn’t she be answering my text at least? I don’t know what to think right now. Maybe I should ask someone for advice, yeah, I’ll do that.

I removed my laptop from my lap and walked to Sunday’s room. “Come in” she said after I knocked on her door. “Hey, you have a few minutes?” I asked when I walked in and closed the door behind me. “Yeah, what’s up?” Kailea patted the space next to her on the bed, signaling for me to sit. “I think I messed up, real bad.” “What makes you think that?” she looked at me confused.

“Well, I did something I shouldn’t have done at the party on friday and I think Y/n’s very upset with me.” I answered while fiddling with my fingers, knowing very well that I have to tell Sunday the truth about us. “Did you fucking cheat on her?!” Kailea stood up, shouting angrily. “What? No, it’s not that, I promise.” I defended myself. “Than what did you do?” she asked a little calmer than before.

“Before I tell you, you need to promise that you’re gonna hear me out, okay?” I told my older sister that was still standing in front of me. “I promise. Can you tell me now what’s going on?” I took a deep breath before beginning to tell her the real story. “Y/n and I aren’t actually dating-” “I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT WAS FAKE!” Sunday cut me off, pointing her finger at me. “Let me finish, Jesus. We came up with an agreement where she would help me get back at Tyler and I would help her get this dude Roger to stop bothering her. We set some ground rules and everything was okay until friday. Tyler was bothering Y/n and I just got so angry and felt the need to prove that we’re actually dating, so I kissed her and haven’t heard from her in four days and I don’t know what to do.”

“That’s a lot to take in, is that why she hasn’t been answering any of us?” Sunday looked a little shocked after everything I just told her. “Yeah, and it’s all because I kissed her, one of the conditions was no kissing.” I told Sunday, the burden of my secrets being lifted lightly off my shoulders, but my new problem was still eating away at me. “Well, you did break the rule. But it was for good. And for the record, I totally fell for it. Hell, I literally threatened the girl not to hurt you.” Sunday said, now sitting next to me. “What should I do?” I asked, looking at her. “Why don’t you go to her house and try to solve this.” she suggested. “I think that’s my only option. Olivia said she was sick so I’ll check on how she’s doing too.” I told my sister. “You really care about her, don’t you?” Sunday asked, I just nodded, putting my head down a bit.

“Go get your girl.” she said, lifting me off the bed. “Right now?” “Yes now. She’s keeping you in check, don’t let her slip away.” Sunday said as she dragged me to the door of her room. “Okay, I’m going. Please don’t tell Eli about the whole relationship thing, I’ll tell her when the times right.” I told Sunday before grabbing my phone and keys and running out the door.

It was when I pulled up in her driveway that I realized I was still in my pj’s and flipflops. I looked like a crazy person, but now is not the time to worry about what I look like, not if I wanted to make things right.

I sat in my car for about 10 minutes, contemplating whether or not I should just leave or actually grow balls and go up to her door. I took a few deep breaths, bracing myself before opening the door of my car and stepping out.

When I walked to the front door and put my hand on the doorbell, realization hit me. What if I just make things worse than they already are? What if she never wants to see me again?

Maybe this was a mistake, I should leave. Before I could even take a step to turn around, the door opened halfway, revealing a cautious Y/n. When she saw it was me she opened the door more.

“Hey” I mustered out. “Hi” she replied quietly. “Can we talk?” I asked, playing with the ring on my finger. “About?” “Us, it won’t take long, I promise.” I told her, praying she wanted to work everything out as much as me. She moved away from the door, letting me enter her home.

Her house was even more beautiful inside. I have only seen the exterior till now. It was very moder with an open floor plan, a big glass double staircase was between what looked like the kitchen and living room. “You have a very nice home” I told her while looking around, my eyes landing on a family portrait. Her parents were standing while she was sitting in front of them, a smile on her face, but it didn’t reach her eyes. Her parents were very beautiful people, now I see it where she gets it from, a perfect mix of both her parents.

I wanted to ask her about the picture, but she stopped my train of thoughts. “We can go in the living room, if you want to.” she said quietly, but loud enough for me to hear, checking if the door was locked in the process. “Anywhere is okay, wherever you want to sit.” I told her, not really caring where we were going to have the conversation, I just wanted to sort this out.

She motioned for me to follow her, leading me to the living room. We sat on the couch, a gap between us. Aria came walking over, jumping on the couch for me to pet her. We were sitting in silence for what felt like hours before I got the courage to break it. “How have you been?” I asked, looking at her. “Okay, you?” she asked back, fiddling with her fingers, not looking at me. “Eli told me you weren’t at cheer.” “I didn’t feel like going.” the girl said, her gaze still not meeting mine.

“I’m sorry.” I blurted out. “What for?” “For kissing you on friday, it was wrong of me to that after we agreed not to.” I told her. “It’s fine.” she replied. “Can you look at me please?” I asked her, lifting her head with my thumb, gently by her chin, our gazes finally meeting. “I was angry about what Tyler was saying and trying to do to you, that I acted impulsively and the alcohol wasn’t helping. And I feel very bad for making you uncomfortable with me, it was not my intention.” I confessed, looking at her eyes that were softer than they were before.

She stayed silent, making my anxiety spike. “Did THE Demitra Kalogeras practically confess to being jealous?” Y/n finally broke the silence, teasing me. “What? No.” I looked at her. “I’m pretty sure you did.” she laughed, making me feel something weird again. I tried to look serious, but it just me into a fit of laughter.

We laughed at eachother for a good five minutes, my cheeks and stomach hurting. Our gazes were locked, a comfortable silence engulfing us, the only sound that could be heard was Aria’s breathing.

“So, am I forgiven?” I asked softly. “Under one condition.” she said, looking at me with a cheeky smile. “That you stay over for dinner.” she added, making me let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. “Depends, what are you making?” I asked, coming a little closer to her. She mirrored my action. “How about some melanzane alla parmigiana” she said in a lower and more flirtatious voice with an Italian accent. “Well in that case, I’ll stay.” I told her, looking between her eyes and lips. “Love to hear that, I’ll get started right now.” she said before getting up and going to the kitchen. “I need and answer now.” I told her after I followed her to the kitchen. “You’re forgiven.” she said, a smile on her face.

I was now helping Y/n with dinner. Like the Italian she is, a very attractive one at that, she was making her own pasta while I was cutting eggplants. When I finished, I turned around to see the beautiful girl kneading the dough. I took this chance to hug her from behind, cutting her off guard. “Thank you for hearing me out.” I told her. Y/n turned around in my arms to hug me back. “Thank you for helping me that night.” she said while we held on to eachother, savoring our little moment.
