After we made dinner together, Y/n set the table and we sat down to eat, the energy we had before the party was practically restored. That’s how I sensed it, at least. I just hope she actually forgives me.

When I tried the meal, I felt like I was literally floating. “Yo, this is bus.” I told her, my mouth full of food. “That’s because you’re a magician when it comes to cooking.” Y/n said, making my stomach feel weird. Did she really like my cooking? “It was all you babe, don’t be generous.” I replied. “Why thank you.” she replied to my compliment, smiling sweetly at me. “But seriously, it’s really good. Where did you find the recipe?” “It’s actually been in my family for a few generations now. My great great nonna Marie gave it to her son Giovanni who gave it to his daughter, my nonna Vittoria. She gave it to my dad, but my dad didn’t pass it on to me yet. I know it by heart tho since I always make it with him. I can give it to you, if you would like.” she said, giving me the origin of the recipe while I carefully listen to her.

“You would do that for me?” I asked her. “Of course, why wouldn’t I? It’s not a secret recipe. My nonna always says that if we were to give it to someone, it should be a special person we care about.” she replied. Her response made my heart beat fast and butterflies swarmed my stomach. “Wait, you actually care about me?” “Of course I care about you love.” I carefully got up from my seat and hugged her.

I felt as if jolts of electricity were passing through me as she hugged me tightly around my waist. “I forgave you the moment I saw you at my door.” she whispered in my ear, the butterflies in my stomach going berserk. To be honest, I kind of wanted to cry right now, but I didn’t. After a few minutes of just holding eachother, we pulled away and continued to eat our meal while talking and joking around.

When we finished, I helped her clean up and we washed the dishes together. “Wanna watch a movie?” Y/n asked while drying her hand as we just finished with the dishes. “Sure, I don’t have anything better to do anyways.” I said while mirroring her actions. “Great, I’ll put some popcorn in the microwave and you can get anything you want from the pantry.” the brunette told me before going to pop some popcorn. I went to the pantry and it was mad organized, labels and everything type of organized. Looking around I spotted some m&m’s, perfect. I took them and poured them in a small bowl before going to where my girl was.

She had just pulled the popcorn bag out of the microwave wave and was pouring it into a bowl. When she looked up, she saw I was there and walked over, grabbing my hand lightly. “Let’s go to the basement.” She told me as she lead me towards a door in one of the hallways of the first floor of the house. This kind of creeped me out. Why the hell did she want to go to the basement. If this ends up being like in horror movies where the killer lures their victim into a murder dungeon, I’m gonna flip.

All of my suspicions were immediately shut down when my jaw dropped at the sight of a movie room. “I know it’s not much, but I thought it would be better than watching a movie in the living room or my room.” she said as she let go of my hand so she could lightly touch the back of her neck. “Are you kidding me? This is amazing, I really like the colors.” I told her, still looking around the room. It wasn’t too big to the point where it would take up the whole basement, it had lavender movie seats, a sound system and a lot of different lights all around. “Thanks, I designed and did it myself since, uhm, I wanted to expand my skill list.” she made a pause, almost as if she was trying to think of what to say. “Is there something you can’t do?” I asked while leading her to the seats so we could sit.

Y/n turn the projector on and started scrolling through movies so we could pick which one we wanted to watch. We decided on Scream which was shockingly one of our favorite franchises, this girl surprises me every day, literally. The brunette played the first movie and we got ready for an amazing time.

Shoot, I almost forgot to ask her something. We were halfway through the first movie, but I’ve watched it too many times to count, and from the look on the pretty girls face that was sitting next to me, she has too. “I wanted to ask you something.” I started, turning in my seat fully so I was facing her, sitting crisscross. “What is it?” she asked sweetly and curiously, now facing me as well. “Would you like to come to LA with me?” I asked her, a little nervous to receive her answer. “Are your parents okay with it?” she asked me back, wanting to make sure everything was in order. “Yeah, they said we could invite who we wanted. Eli’s bringing Noah and they make me feel so single every time he comes over.” I told her, which was actually true.

Noah literally comes everywhere with us. He’s basically a part of the family now. Don’t get me wrong, he’s like a brother i don’t have and I love him. But oh my days him and my sister and so in love they make me feel sick and single in a million type of ways. So since I have an opportunity to bring someone on our trip, I’m gonna take my amazing girlfriend.

“I’m down.” she replied without giving it another thought. “Wait, what will you parents say?” I asked her to make sure she would be able to go with me. “Uhm, they’ll be okay with it.” she said, like she was trying to convince herself of what she just said. “Okay, I just wanted to make sure.” I told her in a caring voice.

“Y/n Anderson is on the move, will she take home the gold? Ladies and gents, we’re about to find out.” I joked while getting ready to throw a piece of popcorn for her to catch in her mouth. I threw the popcorn, making her move her head and I flew directly into her mouth. “And she did it again ladies and gents. Miss Anderson, how do you feel about winning yet again against your opponent?” I continued the joke as I did a fake interview making her laugh.

This has been going on for the past half an hour, completely forgetting about the movie we were watching. We relaxed after that, watching the movie and enjoying eachothers presence with Y/ns head laying on my lap while my fingers were tangled in her soft hair. One seat wasn’t big enough for us both, but I was surprised when Y/n took a side from our seats and made them into a couch. She really thought about everything when designing the movie room.

The more my fingers brushed through her hair, the more my mind kept drifting to the family portrait in the entrance hall and now that I think about it, she almost never talks about her parents.

“Babe, are you sure your parents are gonna be okay with you going to LA with me?” I asked her. “Yeah, they’re never home anymore anyways, so I make these types of decisions on my own.” she said, the last part a little quieter, almost as if she didn’t want me to hear.

“What do you mean?” I’m getting a little confused. “They’ve been going on ‘business trips’ ever since I could remember. When they come back, they’ll be home for a couple days before going on another. They’d leave me with a nanny while I was little because my grandparents are in Saint-Tropez and Sorento. When I started middle school, they started leaving me alone and it’s been like that ever since.” she revealed in a hesitant and quiet voice, playing with the drawstring of her shorts. Pain and sadness engulfed me for the girl.

“Oh my baby, I’m so sorry I didn’t want to hit a nerve.” I apologized, feeling guilty for even asking. “It’s okay, you didn’t know. I’m sorry for burdening and unloading it on you like that.” she said while lifting her head from my lap so she could sit properly. I pulled her into a hug, holding her as close to me as I possibly could. “You could never burden me. You can come over whenever you would like, you don’t even have to ask me, just come, okay. I don’t want you feeling alone.” I told her while still hugging her.

When we pulled away, our gazes met. Her eyes were a little saddened, but there was something else there. Something I couldn’t quite decipher. My eyes started roaming around her beautiful face, switching from her eyes to her lips that were slightly parted. Before I could even comprehend what was happening, our noses we touching, making my breathing fast and shallow.

Before anything could happen, my phone started to ring, making us jump away from eachother. I took my phone that was beside me and saw that Sunday was calling me. “Mia” my sister said through the phone. “Kailea” I said in the same manner. “What are you doing?” “Watching a movie.” “Are you sure that’s all you’re doing?” she asked, I could basically hear her smirk. “I’m sure Sunday.” “Okay, when are you coming back? Mom and dad wanted to talk to us about something.” “I’ll be there in a bit.” “Bye, you’re gonna tell me everything that happened.” she says. “Okay, bye.”

I ended the call and looked at the girl that was sitting next to me. “Is everything okay?” she asked. “Yeah, everything’s fine, I just have to get going because my parents wanted to talk to us.” I reassured her while she nodded her head in an understanding way. I stood up, making her stand up with me and we made our way towards the first floor. “Oh, I almost forgot, we’re leaving for LA on monday.” I told the girl that was next to me. “Okay, gives me enough time to get everything in order.” she said.

I was about to walk out the front door when she stopped me. “Wait, give me one second.” Y/n said before running to her room and came back with a piece of paper and a pen. She went to the kitchen island and started writing something down. After about two minutes, she came back to where I was standing and handed me the piece of paper that was now neatly folded. “What’s this?” I asked her while smiling. “You’ll see.” she replied, not giving me a straight answer. “Okay, thanks.” I replied gratefully before opening the front door.

We walked out to my car and I had to go home. “Thank you for hearing me out.” I told her, a little sad that I was about to leave. “Of course and thank you for today.” she replied. I leaned in to give her a hug which she reciprocated. When we pulled away, she stunned me with a kiss on the cheek, making me instantly feel blood rush to my cheeks. “Drive safely and let me know when you get home.” she told me before I got in my car and started my journey back home.

While waiting on a red light, I remembered the piece of paper she gave me. I pulled it out of my pocket and unfolded the paper, not having enough patience to wait until I get home. When I opened it, I realized it was her families recipe in her handwriting and on the bottom of the page stood a message written in the beautiful cursive she always used to write, making me melt in my seat.
