I Became The Protagonist’s Child chapter 53

A+ A-

Nathaniel sits in the driver’s seat after buckling his children in the seats, he breathes inhaling as he drops his head on the steering then smiled to himself letting out a slight chuckle.

“Dad?”

He snaps out of it as he raises his head, “yes, Noel?” He inquires buckling himself down.

“Are you okay?” He inquires.

Nathaniel smiles warmly, “I’m fine, just thinking.”

“About?”

“You guys,” he answers honestly.

“Dad?” Alexis calls him.

“Yes?”

“Can we have cake tonight?” Alexis asks cheerfully.

Nathaniel chuckles, “no. Too much cake for the past month.”

Alexis pouts then sighs, Nathaniel starts driving when his mind wonders off remembering Noah. His baby, he’s gotten so big and chubby he is even smart too.

‘Noah, your okay…’

Nathaniel could barely hold back his tears and desires to hold his son, he will not loose him again never again, he promises himself.

Noah is writing with Arian, who tilts his head.

“Can you come to my school?” He asks.

“Huh?” Noah looks at him confused.

“We are friends it’d be fine, I can protect you.”

Noah thinks then looks away, “no, fine where I am.” Noah said.

“But you’ll be alone once I start going back to school.” Arian said.

Noah sighs, he is not afraid of being lonely it’s just safer that’s all. Arian could see the look in his eyes and tell, he sighs then smiles leaning over to pat his head. “You’ll be fine kid, I’ll come visit as often as I can.”

Noah blushes, even a kid is calling him kid now?! He needs to compose him!!

The next day Arian had to return home, which made Noah a bit sad if he is being honest it felt nice having someone who can almost be himself around but sadly they must part ways.

Sihan feels bad when he sees his son sadness, it makes him realize how much he was depriving Noah of childhood.

“Noah…”

“Yes?” He answers reflexively.

“Do you want to go to same school?” Sihan asks.

Noah can see it, that guiltyness in Sihan’s eyes, if tells him he is fine it’ll only make him feel worse. “No, I want to go at a better school so I can show him I’m way smarter.”

Sihan mind went blank, he almost chuckles to think his son had such a competitive side to him.

“Oh Noah,”

Sihan hold his hand as they both walk back inside the bakery.

Amani who was sitting outside eating bread after an early morning surgery, soon looks beside him as a man in wheelchair approach him. He sighs as he looks at the old man and his bodyguard. Amani sighs in dissatisfaction as he eats his bread.

“my answer still remains no,”

“He left it for you,” the old man ushers.

“he should have given it to someone else.”

“But he left it for you Yaakov, I know Dorian did you wrong but–”

“He kick me out when I was 15,  over something I have no control over someone who I had no control over. I didn’t ask for him to be a predator did I but why was the one to face the consequences?” Amani asks.

“And Dorian regrets that,”

“Well he regrets it too late, and he didn’t have the courage to come to ms himself but proved to me he’d rather die than beg my forgiveness.” Amani said harshly.

“Dorian didn’t know what to say,” the old man said.

Amani sighs rising from the bench, “well I do, leave me alone. I want nothing from you guys, I’ve gotten myself this for no thanks to him. It’s too late for apologies, so he die with that.”

“Yaakov…”

Amani walks away from them eating the rest of his bread, the old man sighs holding his head. “I should have done something.”

Amani wants to bury the past that connects him to the man who he should call father, but it seems like many intend on digging it back up. He will never forgive his father neither in living or dead.

After a hectic day at work he finally returned home to see Sihan, his mood is better. Whenever he gets home recently his mood is always better, maybe because someone is actually waiting for him now.

He could smell the smell of dinner still lingering in the air, who would have thought he’d see himself here back then.

Walking upstairs he decided to check on Noah opening his door, there was a huge hump in the bed with light shining out.

“Noah, you’re not sleeping?” Amani asks gently.

Noah puts his laptop down then sits up, “I’m not sleepy.”

Amani walks up over then sits on the hedge on the bed, “what’s on your mind Einstein?”

Noah thinks carefully before sighing, “we’ll be okay Right?”

Amani smiles, “yes, why wouldn’t we?”

“I don’t know, but you’ll always stay with us, won’t you?” Noah asks curiously.

“Yes. Why would I ever leave?”

Noah sighs, that it’s better, with the scum Gong back things might be complicated but at least some good inspiration.

“On that topic, Noah, what do you think of your mom dating?”

“Hmm?” Noah looks at him suspiciously; what is he thinking?

As far as Noah knew Amani wasn’t interested in his mom at least what he thought and even if that was the case, it’s weird!

“No!”

Amani was taken aback, he didn’t know what to say. He chuckles.

“You don’t want a step father or your mother to date?”

“No, my mom is better off by himself.”

Noah believes what he says is true after all he doesn’t want his mom to go to scum men.  Amani seeing the look in Noah’s eyes smiles awkwardly, he is still a pampered and beloved child after all.

“I see,” he then ruffles Noah’s hair. “Try and get some sleep.”

Amani tucks him then walks out only to see Sihan leaning on the walls, Sihan turns to him ready to say something but Amani puts his hand on his lips gesturing to be quiet.

They went to his room, closing the door behind them.
