I Became The Protagonist’s Child chapter 63

Sihan Smiles looking at his son, all neatly dressed in his uniform. His eyes water up to think they’d receive such a quick call and then have the package sent off to them, it feels like they didn’t have enough time to celebrate.

Sihan observes his child and feels tears in his eyes, Noah is growing fast, his heart feels like it’s gonna burst. Noah feels nervous as he plays with his fingers, “um do I look good, mom?”

Sihan smiles seeing his boy’s flustered, “you look handsome! Most handsome in fact!” Sihan said confidentially.

“No need to shout, ah!” Noah covers his own mouth.

“Is little Noah nervous?” Sihan asks.

“Um… yeah it’s my first time going to school in a while…” Noah answers.

‘In a while? Noah has never been to school?’ Sihan thought, but laughed it off.

“Well we can’t be late for your first day of school can we?” Sihan asks gently.

“Of course not!” Noah answers.

They walk outside to see Amani waiting for them, “wait! Can’t forget pictures.” He declares.

“Ha! I’m way ahead of you! I’ve got them all prepared!”

Sihan dishes out his camera and begins to take all kinds of pictures with them all as a family and some with Noah individually.

Noah thinks they’re gonna be late considering his parents turn into paparazzi just now.

Meeting the principal he hands Sihan the final preparations for the task. “Your son, despite his background, shows excellent and remarkable knowledge during his examinations, instead of losing such a fresh and intelligent mind. In Fact now we can now reap two star pupils.”

Sihan tilts his head wondering what this man meant by ‘his’ background?

Sihan is very much offended by this principal, “young Evans henceforth I’m your principal, Mr. Drakes.” He said sternly. “Now, I’ve called Mrs. Prentuck she will be your homeroom teacher. She supervises and educates the best of the best children! Your son is in great hands Mr Evans.”

Noah looks at Mrs Prentuck then at his mom with a smile, “bye-bye mom.”

Sihan smiles, “bye-bye Noah”

Noah hugs him as Sihan kisses his cheeks before leaving, Noah looks around, today is his first day of school his school experiences weren’t the best but they weren’t the worst either he wonders how this one will be.

“We expect the utmost respect here young Evans, no back talking, no insults we expect discipline and punctuality. Your studies come first.”

‘Do these people not realise they’re talking to a six year old?’

Opening the class door, Noah looks at the children who were sitting down calmly, not a bit of savagery in them.

“You will be sitting in the second seat at the front, Noah nods but when he sees Arian next to him he quickens his steps and sits down.

“Naenae, we’re in the same class.” He whispers.

“No whispering Mr. Evans, children as you can see we have a new student, introduced yourself.”

Noah’s taking a step out his desk to face the other kids, “Hello! My name is Noah Evans, I’m six years old and have never been to public school. I hope to get along well!”

“We need to work on your presentation, go sit down” She said coldly.

He sits back down, Arian smiles then pays attention to the board. After class it was timeout, Arian turns to Noah, “happy first day of school… wait for me after the last class. I have a surprise.”

Noah smiles, “okay,”

Some of the other students looks at Noah weirdly from a distance soon an instructor comes in breaking the tension, “Ariannae James, time for your physics practical”

Arian nods putting his books in this bag, “I will be going now, see you later”

“Ah, okay.” Noah smiles.

They wave goodbye to each other before Noah sighs he looks around to notice the children looking at him weirdly,  he shoves his shoulders just going back to his backpack to continue reading the story that Arian gave him.

Soon he had to follow the students to the next session. After finishing up classes it was lunch going to the cafeteria. He sat next to a kid by his lonesome. The kid had curly long blond hair and emerald eyes. How lovely are they?

He is cute, Noah starts to unpack his lunch, the kid only holds his head down not daring to look up. Noah is bewildered by his mother over-packed his lunch. He already had break time and something but if he doesn’t eat enough then he’d never finish! He has a delicious dinner waiting for him coming home but he doesn’t want to overeat!

“Um– hey would like some of my cookies and cinnamon rolls.” Noah asks.

The little blushes he looks away saying, “mommy makes cinnamon rolls, but he can’t bake much.”

“… ah okay? So…”

The little boy barely stresses his hand taking the cinnamon roll with some cookies, he slowly takes a bite smiling. “Mommy bought some pastry once it was nice, I like Mommy. Thank you”

Noah smiles awkwardly, after lunch classes begin once again now he sees Arian again. This time sitting in different spaces, after all classes were finished, Noah waits on Arian in class after all Arian’s schedule seems so strange. Coming in Arian taps Noah.

“Sorry I’m late, I had to dodge my instructor.” He explains.

“Oh, is that okay to do though?”

“It’s fine, um here. Your gift.” Arian hands him a box that was nicely decorated.

Noah gently opens it, then takes it out smiling.

“A smart watch?”

Arian blushes a bit shy, “um, we are friends and since I don’t know much about what you like and dislike, I thought maybe if I were you what would I want? But I couldn’t since I don’t know much about ultimately I thought a smart watch would be cool so we can act like secret agents.”

Noah’s eyes went blank, most of the time Arian has this aloof daze look but to think he was actually this friggin funny and adorable! Kids, kids, they’re the most precious thing on earth.

“I love it, don’t worry since we’re friends we will eventually know more about each other!” He declares.

Arian smiles, “Okay but I must hurry now.”

“No problem!”

Arian runs off, Noah feels happy to think that Arian isn’t all that weird.
