Kalev grew under the careful and loving care of his parents, he was showered with gifts and treasures by everyone in the castle. The nobles would flock on his every movements; when he was 4 years old, he had personally received the undying flame from their fire god. Kalev was hailed as the one fitting for the throne however just like any normal child,
He wished he had a sibling, someone who would guide him and love him more than his parents.
A brother who would teach him how to use and control his power, or maybe a sister who would teach him to read books and be elegant as a swan.
All those dreams- he could sacrifice his treasures just to have it. A
He was given all, explored the kingdom and the palace yet there is one tower that was forbidden to all- it was where he saw a boy with blood red hair and eyes with swirling blood and forest combine in his irises.
Curiosity was a child’s greatest enemy, every time that he had a chance, he would explore that area- hiding amongst the flowers while gazing toward that boy who looks just like him.
That night, he told his parents about what he saw and there was a moment of pause in their eyes- his mothers smiling face turning grim and his father’s hardening gaze did not escape his observant eyes. The next day, when he visited the tower again, no one was there- the boy no longer appeared as if all of what Kalev saw was nothing but an illusion.
He walked back with solemn gaze, his eyes downcast as he walked back slowly.
“Have you heard what happened?”
Shush whispers echoed in the corner of the hallway and Kalev stopped in his tracks to listen what could have happened and if ever it was connected to the mysterious boy.
“The prince was taken!”
“Oh goodness gracious…”
“Did anyone saw who took him?”
The prince? But Kalev was the only prince in the kingdom…
“No, they said that there was ashes in his tower…”
“Blacks?”
Blacks?
“Yes. Those ice takers, they took that abandoned prince!”
“Well, it’s more convenient, right? I mean, if they took prince Kalev instead, the king and queen would have turned the castle upside down..”
Kalev held his breath, his hands trembling at the merciless comments- and that’s when he knew that the boy in that tower was his brother.
Ever since that incident, his relationship with his parents became superficial, his gaze were unreadable whenever his parents try to coax or give him treasures as if there other child was not missing. It made him sick to the core, how could his parents act like nothing happened, they did not even bother to send a search or held a ceremony for his brother.
5 years after, a young noble of the Evangeline household requested for his presence alone.
He was busy with his coming-of-age ceremony to accommodate anyone at that moment however another letter came- telling him that it was about his brother.
Kalev dropped everything in his schedule and rushed to met up with the successor of the Evangeline.
“Crown Prince..”
The uptight noble he saw made him flinched from the gaze he’s receiving. The young successor that time had tired eyes yet his demeanor still resembled and represented his status. Kalev smiled as a greeting and walked over to the couch, he gestured for the other to sit too.
“Pardon my tongue, prince. I need your scouts.”
“What for?”
“Your castle does not seem to care about the disappearance of the first prince so i will do the searching…”
Kalev was stunned with the noble, right- his brother- no one looked for him and it’s been five years since his disappearance, he neglected his brother while hoping for him to comeback, he did not do anything to search for him…
With teary eyes, Kalev asked the noble’s name.
“Third Evangeline III”
Thus, they operated in the shadows. For the past 4 years, Third and Kalev did not gave up the hope that Sejin was still alive and finally, Third got ahold of the information- an intel about where the captured ice holders are being kept,
But one’s luck can run out. They were too late; arriving at the cabin, no signs of the captured ice holders but the burst of ice made the two nervous and restless. kalev gave up upon this discovery, maybe it’s time to accept that his brother will not come back to him.
Third frowned at the prince but he too, almost gave up hope.
Months later, their prayers were heard- Sejin came back.
And this time, no one would be able to bring him down,
With building and bubbling rage, those who had bullied the original will wither in his hands.
[Because that is what he promised]
[The future will be for him]
[There are things he does not know about Crosseart]
[Me?}
– somewhere
A woman who was once beautiful: with golden hair and the most luscious brown eyes and smooth glossy skin now is a woman over a decade old with white hair, wrinkled skin and a frowny face. As the village folks described her, she now looks like a witch- but the most terrifying about her was that her smile remains pure yet her eyes contradicted her intentions. Revenge, rage, hatred and grievance over those who ‘wronged’ her.
She sat on a crooked wooden chair inside an abandoned hut while humming a soothing tone that urges the animals around her to get close to her. In this hot weather, she wore a cloak to cover her whole body to hide her old an wrinkled self like a siren with an attractive voice that lures pirates.
As a small rabbit becomes brave enough to become a moth drawn to a flame, fire burned it. The woman laughs, her voice still captivating as it once were before she was transported in this world.
“To think I would turn out like this…”
She whispers grimly, her eyes looking outside the window without any ounce of life- she was lifeless.
“That god… Azazel?”
Her lifeless face contorted into an angry and crazy look. She screamed in frustration, madness growing in the air as she fist her ungroomed hair. The recollection of how she was left here by her system played in her mind again. That’s right, she jumped from another continent to here, the kingdom of Varlette.
She knew this kingdom like the back of her mind before she transmigrated, this kingdom had long been bound to ruins.
No matter how beautiful this kingdom is, the dark entity’s will always be against the beloved son of heaven, the Ice God.
