The next day,

Rumors about the comeback of the first prince spread around the Kingdom, some welcomed it positively while others were negative about it.

When the nobles heard about it, they immediately asked for an audience with the King.

And the Royal Palace became relatively busy, the king’s advisors also asked for an explanation, they were displeased when they heard about it, if the prince is really back that just means the throne is not safe anymore.

〢sejin: which is bullshit. 〢

While all of this was happening today, Sejin was spending his sole time in peace.

Yesterday dawn,

Sejin went straight to his new ‘house’─ relatively speaking, the estate he got from his mother, and didn’t dilly dally for a walk but instead headed straight to the bathroom to wash/scratch his skin almost turning it red, to, as he says; take the germs off his porcelain skin.

After he woke up the first thing, he saw was Levi’s ugly face and he accidentally slapped him across the face which he will never be sorry about.

Levi reprimanded him for an hour which he ignored with a roll of his eyes. After breakfast, he decided that his second day should be spent in peace.

So here he is, relaxing in his humongous manor with a passive face. He had predicted that the rumor should have escalated now. Nobles will be flocking in the palace wanting for an audience with his father.

He was roaming around his estate with Aries following behind him and a lazy levi laid on top his bedhead. He thanked his mother again internally for giving him such a magnificent estate.

However, no matter how magnificent the estate was he still wants to make some changes in it as it reminds him so much of the royal palace bEcAuSE almost everything is painted in red!

oh, how much he hates that color…

‘Even my hair is red…’

Then he abruptly stopped when he saw multiple portraits and landscapes hanged on the wall. He saw a painting of one of the famous painters in Rafael, Diovani Arnaizs.

His painting was a portrait of a man wearing a veil hiding his eyes and beside him was a prince with deep pair of red eyes looking at the man with fondness.

He glanced at the title below.

Beloved.

Then he turned his sight to the one beside it. A portrait painting of a tree with fruits bearing of red and gold. The tree was surrounded by trees, and a red sunray cast upon the said tree in the middle of what seemed to be a forest.

Two mystiques.

“Do you know the story behind this captivating painting?”

He carefully traced the painting giggling when he touched the rough texture as if the painter wanted the apples to appear more realistic.

“Yes, two apples, gold represents good, and red is evil, it is depicted from one of the Kingdom’s histories though others said its merely a myth.”

Aries replied with an interesting glint resting behind his gaze.

“Oh? Do tell…”, Sejin turned to his butler with interest.

“Long ago, the kingdom of Rafael from the western continent faced their judgement as the goddess of their land died and her son longed for revenge thus, she proclaimed her last prophecy, and our supreme god just happens to be her sibling thus he broke the balance of good and evil to aid the chosen one. The bridge of good and evil gave birth to dominant beasts and demons, and the bridge of good gave birth to mythical beasts and angels.”, Aries began.

“Wait, wait, so what about the contract beasts? Aren’t mythical and contract beasts the same?”, Sejin asked in confusion.

“They are not the same, Prince Sejin. The magic imbued in the Mythical beasts are like the size of the sea whilst contract beasts have a size similar to a lake; although almost the same physically, they aren’t mentally, a mythical beast chooses its master while a contract beast, erm, were summoned by the master.”

Sejin nodded like a child knowing how babies are born for the first time. Levi listened carefully with his eyes close, after all, history is the best class to be in.

“Do you want me to continue, Prince Sejin?”, Aries ask as they reach the lounge prompting his master to sit which Sejin mindlessly did.

‘Did he just mention Rafael?’

Nonetheless he gave a curt nod whilst one of the maids prepared some refreshments for them looking like the history has never really reached its ending.

“Rafael Kingdom was saved but that someone who wasn’t supposed to be in this history should not be there; something of evil, very evil that they haven’t reached the end of the bridge yet, meaning they have lived for over a decade and is still roaming the land.”

Sejin gave an awestruck face, he didn’t know that that book he didn’t get to finished ended like that, and about the evil entity he might have a hunch on who it is, but the most important thing is, the Rafael Kingdom is just a continent away!

“Our supreme god blessed the next God of the Rafael Kingdom, and he has been keeping its order ’till now, the kingdom also became one of our allies seeing as something connects the two kingdoms.”

Aries nodded with pride oozing out of his body making Sejin laughed in his mind.

“Well, what happened to the evil entity? Have they found them?”, Sejin curiously glance at his butler who went back from oozing with pride to nonchalant-almost not to be bothered face.

“I don’t know, this kind of information was never mentioned in history books maybe they found them maybe not as to not arouse public’s fear.”

Aries said thoughtfully. Sejin turned his eyes back to the painting, finding resemblance with something he had seen before.

“Then what’s the connection of the story with this tree?”

“The forest was said to be an heirloom situated in an Island, rumors said that this is where the painter who painted this almost lost his lover. The connection between them is that they said that his lover was the one who defeated the evil god…”

Sejin gasped remembering a certain book he had read in his past life, what was the book called again? Haaa.. Him and his memory against the world, literally…

“Ah! Sorry for mindlessly speaking like a fool, please punish me as you see fit!”

Sejin jolted in surprise, drawing him out of his thought, when Aries suddenly wants to be punished just for speaking informally to him.

This kind of reaction just proves that Aries was really trained to be a capable butler.

“It’s okay, speaking informally sometimes is good since most of the times you were acting like some kind of puppet, its creeping me out to be honest. “, he whispered the last part which the butler did not seem to mind or noticed.

Sejin swore he just saw the brightest star as Aries practically shined and his eyes seems to shoot out sparkling beams that lighted the room with an almost blinding ray.

Aries gushed, his nonchalant face thrown out and a new reason to respect sejin more. He had a big smile on his place as if he received a high score in the exam for the first time with that grin that could literally tear his face.

“Thank you for your consideration, Prince Sejin!!!”

“And please don’t call me ‘prince’ just sejin is enough.”

“Then thank you, Your highness.”

“No, not that.”

“Ah, your majesty?”

“No.”

“Young lord?”

“…”

“T-then how about ‘Young Master’…?”

“Okay, the simpler the better…”

“OKAY YOUNG MASTER!!!”

“Don’t yell, please.”

“YOU GOT IT, YOUNG MASTERRRR!!!”

‘This asshole…’

“Oh! I have another question!!”, he said excited of what might be the answer and Aries composed himself again gone was the gullible expression and replaced by a professional one.

“You said it was written in the history books then how come others still said its a myth?? If it really happened, then why would people say its a myth?”

Aries paused giving his young master an applause for noticing the play of words in his sentence, he gave a small smile remembering the painter’s words in his mind.

“I also asked that to someone, and he said, people of Rafael did not record this disaster in their history books and only Varlettes were the ones who recorded it so many people doubted that it ever happened even though many had testified against it. “

Sejin nodded slowly with a complicated look in his eyes. He doesn’t know why the Rafaels did not record this in history but since it’s not his kingdom then he shall not dwell too much.

“Then, do you believe it?”, he looks at his butler catching a glimpse of nostalgia in his eyes before it disappears as if merely an illusion.

“Yes”, he firmly stated with pride laced in his tone.

“Why?”

“Because his lover had blue eyes.”

Sejin’s POV

I sat on the green grass that spread around the garden: the garden was large with rose trees surrounding the whole area leaving the entrance open, square pavements heading to different places around the garden like the gazebo or the birdbath.

Even the garden flowers were similar to the palace because all of them were just…-red and so I began my ‘changes’. I told the head butler the things I wanted to change.

From starting to remove all the red flowers in the garden and replacing it with yellow bells, violets, blue flowers, white incarnations and evergreen plants.

I also wanted the evergreen plants replaced the rose trees and scattered some of them like accidents made by painters to their paintings.

The flowers should be planted in between the two square pavements like a sprouting plant and place some of it in flowerpots in the gazebo. I want the garden to look simply yet oozes the beauty of nature.

I also made changes around the estate literally speaking both in and out and every red colors were removed per command.

The loose curtains were replaced by white ones completely blending with the pure white walls.

The vases were filled with blue and white roses.

Furnitures such as tables and chairs are now in golden-brown colors blending with the color of the carpet and the cushions were flamboyant yellow with golden patterns around it.

The usually closed windowsills were now open letting the breath of nature in making the house even more refreshing and look gentle without a tinge of red which made me satisfied.

“The estate never looked this beautiful before…”

“I thought I’d forever see red..”

“And here I thought I was the only one who was afraid to catch red syndrome…”

The head butler and the maids looked around in awe. Of course, I’m the one who made it more beautiful, ha, after all my presence alone is beauty itself.

Standing tall with my head high whilst oozing a little, right maybe too much pride.

You might be wandering where Aries is, right? Hmm, he just had a little screentime and you already want to see me interact with him so much, che!

Well, I told him to buy fresh fruits, dozens of silks and such.

Lunch came like a bullet train and now I am sitting at the large table waiting for my food. The dining area is also undergoing changes; like the table should be golden-brown with intricate craftmanship and the chairs should also be golden brown with white linings.

The dining area also had a place for flowerpots and the chandeliers remained golden with flickering gems in it.

Not long after, the maids flooded in with foods in their hands placing them on the table, the fuck!? Who eats this many!? Is this a feast? Is there a festival again!?

Seeing my dumbfounded look the head butler explained, oh and by the way, I learnt his name was Ronan, he has this rough-old-looking face that look really like my strict professor.

“It is your lunch, Young Master.”

I glance at him like he had grown two heads with sixteen eyes looking like a chameleon and I gestured to the said foods, and he nodded again.

“Y-you─how the fuxk can I eat all of it!?”

“You don’t have to eat all, the leftovers can be eaten by the maids.”, he said as if he was used to this.

The fuck!? If that lion is here, I am sure he can eat all of this, and he would still demand more but me? A gorgeous me? I can’t!!

“T-then sit the fuck down and eat with me, all of you.”, I said through gritted teeth, who cares if I can eat it or left it, but the word leftover will be eaten by the servants afterward just sounded wrong, what are they? Pigs? Animals?

No, I can’t let my modern humane moral be thrown away like this.

“Young master?”, Ronan ask with obvious flabbergasted face which I disregarded as I point to a random maid and asked her to bring plates.

“Sit and eat with me, the table is fucking huge, and I am the only one using it, the plates are fucking many and no one uses it but me and now I can’t consume this many foods and you’re saying that If I can’t finish it the leftovers will be eaten by you? The hell, are you pigs!?”

As I ranted and ranted, they reluctantly sit on the empty chairs telling them to dig in like how any person would do oblivious to their rising favorability and respect for me.

Imagine how stunned I was when I coincidentally named the head butler, Ronan.

Anyway, here is the new chapter, sorry it took days since I was really thinking of how to make the following ones more interesting.

Look forward to Sejin’s knight’s entrance as well as his brother’s visit.

Thought he could peacefully rest, ha! Think again!
