Just Say It Back ( Hanni X Male Reader) 34) Even if we Aren’t Dating

A+ A-

Hanni POV

The practice room was filled with the rhythmic beat of music, and the dancers moved in perfect harmony.

Today, you had decided to push yourself harder than ever before, attempting a challenging move that required a quick spin.

As you executed the move, your foot slipped on the smooth studio floor, and before you knew it, you were crashing to the ground with a painful thud.

The room fell eerily silent as your fellow bandmates rushed to your side, their expressions filled with concern.

Minji: “Hanni, are you okay?”

You forced a smile, your pride stinging more than the pain.

Hanni: “I’m fine, just a little bruised ego,” you replied, trying to sound confident despite the discomfort coursing through your leg.

Haerin: “You sure you’re okay?” another bandmate asked, their worry evident.

You nodded, though the sharp pain in your ankle told a different story. You didn’t want to trouble your colleagues with your problems

After some reassuring words from your teammates, practice resumed, but with every movement, your injured leg protested. You knew something was wrong, but you didn’t want to admit it.

Hours passed, and the studio was empty except for you. You slowly got up, wincing at the sharp pain in your ankle. You glanced down and saw your swollen, bruised leg.

Your bruised ankle is a swollen, vibrant shade of purple, mottled with darker hues of blue and red, creating a stark contrast against your pale skin. It was a nasty sight… Every step sends a sharp, throbbing pain shooting up your leg, a constant reminder of the unfortunate slip during practice.

With a sigh, you reached for your bag, determined to leave before anyone else could see your injury. You limped towards the exit, doing your best to hide your discomfort.

You left the studio and headed towards the exit, wanting to head home to rest up. You tried your best to walk normally but it’s was clear to see you were struggling a bit.

Just as you were about to slip away unnoticed, you heard a voice calling out your name.

Y/N: “Hey, Hanni!” he greeted you with his warm smile.

You froze for a moment, caught off guard by his presence. You had been deliberately avoiding him, and now he was here, looking concerned.

After the whole Chaewon thing, for some reason, you wanted to avoid him. Although he has every right to see whoever he wants to… You don’t know why… Why you feel so sad when you see him now…

Hanni: “Oh, hey,” you replied, trying to sound nonchalant. You watched as his eyes slowly gazed at your injured foot.

Y/N: “Is something wrong with your leg?” he asked, his brow furrowing as he noticed your slight limp.

Well… He knows…

Hanni: “No, no, it’s nothing,” you quickly denied, waving your hands in denial even though the pain in your ankle was undeniable.

Y/N: “You shouldn’t be walking… Hanni it’s obvious that you are injured,” he said as couldn’t ignore your obvious discomfort.

Hanni: “I’m fine Y/N…” you said, not wanting to burden him.

Y/N: “Where are you heading?” he asked casually.

Hanni: “Just back home to the dorm,” you replied, wanting to try to end the conversation so you could leave. “See you later Y/N…”

As you walked, you couldn’t help but notice the way you were limping. It was clear that you were in pain, and you felt embarrassed. You could feel Y/N looking at you.

Y/N: “You should get that checked out,” he said as you turned around and you can clearly see the concern in his eyes.

Hanni: “I told you, it’s f-fine,” you insisted, though your voice wavered.

Y/N didn’t argue but gently lifted you into his arms. He picked you up princess style. You felt your cheeks burn with embarrassment.

Hanni: “Y/N, put me down! This is embarrassing,” you protested weakly.

You get embarrassed and your heart begins to beat faster.

Y/N: “Don’t be stubborn. I’m taking you home,” he replied with a reassuring smile.

Although embarrassing, you couldn’t really do anything about it. He was right… You couldn’t really move with your injury. You eventually accepted him carrying you, and stopped fighting back.

As he carried you, you couldn’t help but feel a mix of embarrassment and gratitude. You nestled against his chest, your injured leg throbbing but strangely comforted by his presence.

The walk to your apartment was a mixture of awkwardness and newfound warmth. You couldn’t deny the relief of having him by your side.

You started to relax into his embrace, allowing him to carry you, and the tension that had been haunting your interactions began to dissipate with each step.

As he carried you to the way home, the two of you talked, exchange playful banter. He teased you about your legs and you teased him back. You kept this nice talk through the way, and as the trip was nearing its end, Y/N said something.

Y/N: “Hanni… You need to take care of your self better,” he said, making you heart feel a but happy that he was worried about you.

Hanni: “Ahhh is Y/N worried about me???” you said, trying to tease him. You chuckled after your response.

Y/N: “Yeah… I am… You know, Hanni, I really care about you….” he admitted, his voice soft and genuine. You could hear his heart beat faster as he said this making you blush as well.

Your heart skipped a beat at his words, and you glanced up at him, surprised by his confession.

Hanni: “Really?” you said in disbelief. “Even if we’re not dating?” you asked, a hint of uncertainty in your voice.

Y/N: “Yes, even if we’re not dating,” he replied, his gaze locked on your eyes. “You’re important to me.”

As he said those words, couldn’t help but feel butterflies flying around in your stomach.

A warm smile spread across your face, and you hugged him gently, your heart feeling lighter than it had in a while.

Hanni: “Thank you, Y/N,” you said, your voice filled with genuine appreciation.

Finally, you arrived at the entrance of your apartment building. Y/N carefully set you down, his eyes still filled with concern.

Y/N: “Take care of yourself, Hanni. And don’t hesitate to ask for help if you need it,” he said, his concern evident.

Hanni: “I will,” you replied, feeling a newfound closeness with him.

Y/N pulled you into a warm hug, and your heart raced.

Y/N: “Goodnight, Hanni,” he whispered, his breath tickling your ear.

Your cheeks flushed with warmth as you replied softly.

Hanni: “Goodnight, Y/N,” you said, your heart pounding in your chest.

With a blush on your cheeks, you entered your building, wondering what the future might hold for your relationship.
