Just Say It Back ( Hanni X Male Reader) 57) Don’t Treat Me Any Different, Okay?

Y/N POV

Things have gotten a little weird after the whole thing with Chaewon. Your mind had been consumed with confusion and guilt since the revelation of Chaewon’s feelings.

The thought of your previous conversation with her filled your brain with worry. You hoped that your friendship with Chaewon wasn’t going to fall apart. Not only that, but why you?

You were just a regular guy, and Chaewon was a beautiful idol. It is so obvious that she was too good for you… Why would she even like you in the first place?

You were confused about her feelings but you were also confused about your own…

You couldn’t understand why you didn’t reciprocate her romantic affection, despite recognizing all of her amazing qualities.

You thought Chaewon was beautiful… She was kind… She was always there for you… But why didn’t you have feelings for her…

Chaewon was literally the perfect girl… A person that anyone would die for. She is an amazing person and an amazing friend as well…

It really made you question your inability to feel the same way about someone who seemed so perfect for you.

The days following her small confession had been filled with an uncomfortable silence between you and Chaewon.

You guys stopped talking even though you two would regularly text one another throughout the day. You hadn’t spoken or interacted much, both of you seemingly unsure of how to navigate your friendship.

You wanted to reach out and talk to Chaewon, but you feared that doing so might complicate things further or hurt her even more.

However just as you thought that, you then receive a message from Chaewon.

Chaewon: “Wanna hang out?” you read as your heart skipped a beat, feeling a mix of surprise and relief.

It was as if she had read your mind and reached out at just the right moment. Without hesitation, you agreed to meet her at a nearby park.

As you made your way to the park, your mind raced with conflicting thoughts and emotions.

You couldn’t help but feel a sense of anxiety, unsure of what this meeting would entail.

Would you confront the lingering tension between you? Would you address Chaewon’s feelings? Or would you simply spend time together, and pretend nothing happened?

When you arrived at the park, you spotted Chaewon waiting for you with a warm smile on her face. Her presence immediately put you at ease, erasing some of the anxiety that had been building up inside you.

As you greeted each other, the familiarity and comfort of your friendship enveloped you, momentarily overshadowing the unspoken tension.

You embark on a leisurely stroll through the park, your steps synchronized like you’ve done countless times before. The air is filled with the soothing sounds of nature, providing a serene backdrop to your conversation.

Chaewon’s laughter echoes through the quiet park, bringing a sense of joy to your heart. She really was a beautiful person…

As you guys hung out, chatting like everything was okay, you wondered if she truly had feelings for you.

You wanted to ask about it and you tried to think of ways to bring up it, but you couldn’t think of anything that wouldn’t make it awkward.

Lost in thought, you were abruptly interrupted by Chaewon, her concerned expression indicating that she had noticed your distraction.

Chaewon: “Y/N… Is there something wrong?” she asked, her voice filled with genuine concern. “You seemed lost in thought…”

This unexpected opening presented the perfect opportunity to address the burning question that had been lingering in your mind.

Summoning all your courage, you took a deep breath and decided to speak up.

Y/N: “Chaewon, can I ask you something?” you said, your voice betraying a hint of nervousness.

The moment hung in the air, and you watched as Chaewon’s lips curled up into a small, amused smile. Her laughter filled the room, and you couldn’t help but blush at the sound.

Chaewon: “Hehehe…” she giggled, her eyes sparkling mischievously. “So you’re copying me?” she teased, playfully nudging you. “I said those exact words earlier. You could at least be more original, Y/N,” she teased, her laughter infectious.

You tried to shake off the embarrassment, determined to focus on the matter at hand.

Y/N: “Anyway,” you continued, brushing off her teasing. “My question is, Chaewon, do you have feelings for me?” you asked, your voice steady despite the butterflies fluttering in your stomach.

Chaewon’s response was immediate and unequivocal.

Chaewon: “I do…” she replied, her words confirming what you had secretly hoped to hear. The truth hit you like a gentle wave, leaving you momentarily speechless.

Confusion clouded your mind as Chaewon posed a question of her own.

Chaewon: “And what about you, Y/N? What do you think about me?” she inquired, her eyes searching yours for an honest answer.

Your heart skipped a beat, torn between the undeniable connection you shared with Chaewon and the lingering affection you held for someone else. Caught in the whirlwind of emotions, you mustered the courage to respond honestly.

Y/N: “I’m sorry, Chaewon,” you confessed, your voice tinged with regret. “I don’t think I can reciprocate those same feelings…”

Her smile gradually faded, but to your relief, there was no trace of anger or disappointment in her expression.

Chaewon: “No need to apologize,” she said gently, her voice filled with understanding. “I had a feeling you didn’t feel the same way…”

Overwhelmed by her kindness, you felt compelled to reassure her.

Y/N: “Chaewon, please understand that there is nothing wrong with you,” you insisted, your voice earnest. “You’re absolutely perfect, and any person would be lucky to have you by their side.”

Her eyes met yours, searching for sincerity in your words. A genuine and affectionate smile graced her lips, warming your heart.

Chaewon: “Well, if you don’t feel that way right now… I’ll make it my mission to make you fall in love with me,” she declared, determination shining in her eyes. Her smile grew wider as she continued, “You may not love me at this moment, but I won’t give up. Y/N, I love you…”

Her words melted away any doubts, and you couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and adoration for her unwavering commitment.

Chaewon: “Please don’t treat me any differently, Y/N,” she pleaded, her voice filled with sincerity. “I like you for who you are, and I don’t want you to change just because you’ve realized my feelings. Just be yourself, and if there’s a chance for us, it will naturally unfold.”

A smile bloomed on your face, a mix of gratitude, affection, and hope. Chaewon’s unwavering determination and genuine love for you were truly remarkable.

Y/N: “Of course!” you said, giving her a smile. You guys then spent the rest of the day together making fun and happy memories.
