Hey! This is a special Christmassy chapter because its Christmas soon! Hope you enjoy!

Reader POV
As our journey continued to Gloirre City, for the Finale Showcase of the year, Christmas had crept its way into the hearts of the group. Especially as it was Christmas Eve, the group had decided to split off for the festive season. Serena had decided to go home to her mother for Christmas. Clemont and Bonnie had to go home too, however, I couldn’t go as Clemont’s father didn’t know that we were together, and as it was quite obvious, we didn’t want to risk a fight breaking out during the festive season. So as painful as it was, they had left. That left me and Ash, I wasn’t going home for Christmas for obvious reasons, and Ash couldn’t as his home was all the way in the Kanto Region.Â
“So that leaves two of us.” Ash huffed, his breath turned to ice.Â
“Yup.” I replied. “So what should we do?”
“I mean, we have the whole forest to ourselves pretty much.” Ash chuckled.Â
“So you want a battle?” Answering his question for him, Ash’s cheeks went bright red.
“I mean, a battle would be quite fun.” Just as those words were uttered, a fierce storm kicked in.Â
“We need to go Ash, to a cave, or somewhere warm!” I shouted amongst the storm.Â
After packing up the tent, we had sprinted towards the nearest cave, thankfully it was mostly empty, filled with pokemon that wouldn’t harm us. Ash had lit a fire for us to keep warm. As we sat around the fire, it crackled and popped, the only sounds that could be heard. After the long and awkward pause of silence, I brought up the conversation.
“Ash?” I asked.
“Yeah?” Ash looked up at me with a curious expression.
“What do you want you’re future to look like?” I asked him.
“Well, I want to become a Pokemon Master! I want to train with lots of pokemon and have a fun time with them. After that, I’d want to settle down. Later on in life, some day, I’d like to become a father, and my children can go off and have lots of fun adventures. What about you?” Ash giggled.
“I want to become the Kalos King and I want to change the perspective of gender expression and queerness of many inhabitants of the the Kalos region. My dream is to perform on top of Prism Tower for everyone to see, I want to visit different regions too and perform there, like in Nimbasa City in the Unova Region or even on the very top of Mount Lanakila.” I drifted away into a fantasy land, imagining my future life.
“What’s Mount Lanakila?” Ash asked, the fire cracked once more.
“Only the tallest Mountain in the Alola Region.” I chuckled, thinking Ash was Joking.
“I’ve never heard of that place.” Ash replied, furrowing his brow.
“When I become the Kalos King, and get lots of money, I’ll take you on a trip to the Alola Region.” I held my hand out towards Ash.
“I’ll hold that against you.” Ash took my hand and we shook on it.
“Even if…even if I don’t win Kalos King, I’d still love to go to the Alola Region and experience life on the Islands.” I said. Swiftly changing the subject, the fire went out. “Shit, the fires out.”
“No problem Y/n, we’ll just build another!” Suddenly, there was a light, of a pokemon.Â
“What pokemon are you then?” I pointed my pokedex’s at the pokemon.
“Chandelure. The luring pokemon and the evolved form of Lampent. This Pokémon haunts dilapidated mansions. It sways its arms to hypnotize opponents with the ominous dancing of its flames. Being consumed in Chandelure’s flame burns up the spirit, leaving the body behind.” The pokedex read out. The Chandelure smiled, however Ash freaked out.
“Get away!” Ash cried.Â
“Whats with Chandelures?” I asked.
“Its the Lampents that scare me. Back in the Unova Region, I was staying in an old house with my travel partners, the litwick and lampent that lived in the house drained our energy and almost brought us to the underworld! It was terrifying!” Ash backed onto the edge of the cave
“I don’t think this one will do anything bad.” I chuckled and petted the ghost type. Within seconds, the Chandelure’s flame dimmed and almost extinguished. “Ah! No No NO!”Â
I quickly relit the ghosts flame, however the pokemon was still weak. I rummaged through my bag, looking for any form of healing items. I found a berry and fed it to the pokemon, it seemed better but was still not well. I looked on my item finder and saw that revival herbs grew in the area.
“Ash! Go get some revival herbs!” I shouted. “Quickly!”Â
Suddenly, Ash shot out of the cave, braving the extreme cold in search for revival herbs. All whilst I attended the care of the Chandelure.
“Please, stay with us Chandelure!” I pleaded. “I don’t know why you came to help us, or where you came from, but please, just let me help you.”Â
Within seconds, a strange event happened, It was like I saw what happened through the eyes of Chandelure.
It was a snowy Christmas eve; the Chandelure wandered a town at night with its owner, illuminating the city streets so that they were safer for her to walk through. However it didn’t work as its owner was jumped, and killed in an alleyway. With rage in its being, the Chandelure decimated the owner, and the whole town for that matter. All that was left was dust and rubble.Â
Soon, the vision jumped to a forest, on another snowy Christmas eve. The Chandelure had been giving out its fire to little Litwicks so that they could survive the winter. However, the Litwicks began to take advantage of the Chandelure, demanding more fire for their own selfish uses. That caused the Chandelure to become weak, weak enough to not be able to execute simple fire type moves like ember or even will-o-wisp.Â
When we returned, I saw that the Chandelure only had one flame left, which was its central flame.
“Chandelure, I’m so sorry, for everything that has happened to you. If I could help out in any way I would.” I cried with it.
“I got the Herbs!” Ash burst into the cave. He ran towards me and handed me the herbs, I quickly crushed them inbetween my hand and thigh and fed the paste to the Chandelure. It was a quick recovery for the Chandelure.Â
“Thank Arceus your ok!” I smiled, within seconds the Chandelure pulled something out of my pocket, it was an empty pokeball. It insisted that I were to catch it. “Really!?”Â
The Chandelure’s flames burst with excitement. And so I did it. I caught the pokemon. I caught myself a Christmas Eve Chandelure.Â
And as the Storm subsided, and the sun set, Ash and I had set up camp on the fresh snow. And now, I had one more friend in my Arsenal of pokemon. It was now; Altaria, Florges, Pampour, Meowstic and Chandelure. There was nothing we couldn’t conquer.Â

Hope you enjoyed the chapter! Also, I just wanted to add, I am extremely sad that the Story of Ash Ketchum is coming to an end after 25 fantastic years of pokemon. Its extremely sad, and to think that the Anime was the one who enabled me to create such amazing memories, introducing me to my first ever pokemon game Black and White. For me personally, the game Black and white and the Anime Black and white, Rival destinies and adventures in Unova and Beyond will always be nostalgic, its also a shame that when I decide to have children, they wont know who ash is. However I am also still positive and looking forward to what Rikki and Roy will be like adventuring in the Paledea Region in the years to come. With that said, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Have a great and merry Christmas, I will see you in the next one!Â
