Kalos King- Pokemon Xyz X Male Reader “Forest Champs!” – 6

Hey all! Sorry it’s been a minute. I’ve been really busy at the moment, preparing for a 2 week exam period for me. Not looking forward to it but I’m trying to revise. Hope you enjoy, also: Bit of a spoiler; Our trainer may be getting a new addition to the team. 😏

Reader POV

Its been a while, a lot has happened too. Me and the team had went with korina to a trainer in the mountain to help with her Lucario’s control problems. After that, she sped off, saying that she was going to wait at the gym for Ash. So we had to make our own way back down the mountain. Currently we were all walking through the forest.

“What was that!?” I screeched. There was a loud roar coming from nearby.

“I don’t know, but let’s check it out.” Ash remarked. 

Running into the clearing we saw a huge pokemon terrorising a group of pokemon. They looked so defenceless. It angered me at the sight, yeah, it may be a big pokemon but it doesnt give it the right to steal another pokemons berries. One of these pokemon caught my eye. It was the evolved form of flabebe, floette I believe. Without thinking I ran over to the huge bear like pokemon and shouted.

“Give those berries back you thief!” I yelled, I hesitated at the glance I got.

“Y/N! Get away! Its an Ursaring!” Clemont yelled after me. I was just about to be hit by the pokemon when a different pokemon used some sort of karate chop protecting me from the blow. It followed up with a high jump kick and attempted to finish it with flying press, but it failed, resulting in the pokemon, who I found out was a Hawlucha, in a bad condition. The Ursaring had walked away. I hadn’t even noticed the man who with with the others. I reached into my pocket and pulled out an oran berry however it was swatted out of my hand by the Floette, who was holding a beautiful blue flower. 

“I know these parts, this floette is Hawlucha’s nurse joy, in a way. Hawlucha can’t go anywhere without his floette, and floette can’t go anywhere without his Hawlucha. Quite cute I have to say.” I smiled at this statement, the floette looked up at me and used a move called Aromatherapy, it created a scent special to this variation of Floette, a rich scent, one that you could find nearest to the ocean. I knelt there in awe at this pokemon’s ability.

A little while later, Hawlucha and Floette flew away together. The man, Keaton invited us back to his place. He then told us all about Hawlucha and then Floette.

“Floette was a pokemon I knew of being close with Hawlucha, but I never thought that they were this close. I remember when I watched Floette being attacked by a pokemon, Hawlucha came to his rescue and got hurt, ever since floette has been by his side ever since.” Hearing Keatons words made me feel happy, knowing that these pokemon can rely on each other.

“You said that both Hawlucha and Floette are boys?” Innocent Bonnie said.

“Yup, it’s actually quite unnatural for two boy pokemons to have such a close relationship.” Keaton giggled.

“I think its cute.” I looked out of the window and saw that floette through the bushes staring in.

We then went to go see Hawlucha, trailing behind everyone I tried to look for that Floette. I found it following me. I looked behind me and smiled.

“You don’t need to follow me around, come here.” I held out my hand for the floette to sit on, he was hesitant at first but soon fell swiftly into my hands. I could tell that the floette looked comfortable in my presence. 

We sat by the waterfall watching the duo of ash and Hawlucha train very hard. Half way during the training Floette started to stir. It used vine whip to grab onto my hand pull me towards the bushes, Suddenly three pokemon stood tall. Conkeldurr, Machamp and the Ursaring from before. They targeted weaker pokemon and were bullies. 

Machamp challenged Hawlucha to a fight. However it was cut short by Ursaring and Conkeldurr beating up Hawlucha. Floette started to panic over the attack on his close ‘friend’. Floette looked up at me and I nodded. 

“Floette! Use vine whip!” I shouted. Floette grew two vines out of its back and furiously hit the Pokemons.

“I’m not letting you hurt this Floette, you bullies!” I shouted.

The rest of the team were in awe, Serena smiled and clemont cheered for me.

“What else can you do floette!” I cheered, Floette looked back at me and winked. Suddenly a barrage of petals flew out of the pokemons flower and they were directed towards both Ursaring and Conkeldurr. They seemed bothered by these actions and sought out to beat up floette.

“Incoming Close combat. Dodge it Floette!” I shouted. Floette had other ideas, as it charged towards the pokemon and hit them both with a mystical gust of wind. “Woah! That was fairy wind!” 

All those pokemon ran off, leaving Floette to heal Hawlucha. 

After that Hawlucha battle ash for a place on his team, Both pokemon ended up fainting in a draw battle. Floette was so kind as to heal both of the pokemon. 

“Hawlucha, become part of my team. You too floette!” Ash threw two pokeballs. Hawlucha accepted his pokeball but floette hit it back into his face. “What gives floette!” 

Without any time to spare, after ash had released Hawlucha back out of its pokeball, Floette used vine whip to grab my hand. I knew what it meant but I didn’t have any money to buy pokeballs. I turned back to clemont with sadness in my eyes. He looked at me and handed me a pokeball.

“Use it Y/n, floette and you really work well together.” Clemont smiled.

“Floette, will you become part of my team?” I saw floette fly up and with my heart full of hope I exclaimed. “Go Pokeball!”

Floette launched itself at the ball and gently taped the opening, after being pulled inside, I heard the ball catch. “Yeah! I caught myself floette! My second team member!” 

“Congratulations Y/n.” Keaton said. I released floette and he ran to Hawlucha’s open arms. They hugged each other and that was when both Ash and I knew the extent to Hawlucha’s and Floette’s relationship.

“Now, back to shalour city.” We exclaimed. Putting out pokemon in their pokeballs and beginning to walk towards the next Gym.
