Kalos King- Pokemon Xyz X Male Reader “Revelations!” – 4

Hey! Sorry I’ve not been writing lately. I’ve been revising for a big maths exam I had this morning. It took a lot out of me lol. But I’m back to writing! And also I watched the season finale of RPDR Season 14 and I am so happy Willow won! Hope you enjoy the chapter!

Y/n POV

The sun shone down on us as we walked through the forest. Swablu rested on my shoulder as I fed it one of my signature Macaroons. It felt amazing. Ash decided to start running for some unknown reason. I giggled and stayed behind with Clemont.

“You must have a really bad back from carrying all of that stuff, Clemont.” I said to him.

“N-no! You get used to it after a while anyways.” The blonde boy hoisted the backpack back onto his shoulder.

“Let me take something.” I said.

“You really don’t have to-!” Clemont started until I took some of the camping equipment and held it in my hands. “Much better!”

“Thanks. I appreciate it.” Clemont started. “Anyways, I can chip in to help you get a new bag.” 

“You don’t have to-!” I began.

“TRAINER NUMBER 99!” Suddenly a young girl shot out from the bushes with a cool pokemon. “I wanna battle you!”

She pointed at Ash and I noticed something on her glove. It looked like a Key Stone. 

“I’ll battle you…” Ash started.

“Korina! And this is my partner-.” Korina began before I interrupted her.

“Woah! A lucario. I’ve never seen one close in personal before!” I smiled.

“You guessed it!” Korina giggled.

“This will be perfect training before facing the Shalour city gym!” Ash got so excited really quickly.

“Shalour city gym?” Korina seemed shocked. “Are you guys going to challenge the Gym too?” 

“No gyms for us.” Serena said. “I’m Serena.”

Bonnie and Clemont introduced themselves.

“Y/n, and this is my partner Swablu.” I looked to my shoulder and saw that swablu wasn’t on my shoulder, but in the trees. I sighed, “Swablu, it’s fine! You’re in safe hands!” 

Swablu flew down with grace and landed on my outstretched arm.

“Such a performance pokemon.” I heard Korina whisper.

As we got into a clearing ready to watch the battle between Ash and Korina, I noticed something strange about Korina. She seemed familiar but I couldn’t pick out where I saw her from. 

The battle started with a deflected Quick Attack from Pikachu and into a Swords dance from Lucario. Korina planned her moves carefully, keeping up the pressure with 3 consecutive Bone Rushes and a Final Power-up punch to finish off Pikachu. Korina handed Pikachu a Citrus berry and said.

“Nice try Ash but you won’t be able to beat the Shalour City gym leader.” She said, Ash seemed disheartened. “I know the Shalour City gym leader. She is me!”

“Woah!” We all said.

“Now I recognise you!” I smiled.

“How so?” Korina asked.

“You did that exhibition match against ‘her’.” I smiled, and then frowned after thinking about my old home.

“‘She’ has quite a team. And plus, I find the way she can just float kinda creepy.” Korina giggled. 

“Who’s ‘She’?” Ash asked.

“You don’t need to worry about her yet Ash.” Me and Korina replied.

“Oh, ok then.” Ash stood up.

“Whilst we’re here. Anyone fancy some lunch?” I asked.

“You bet!” Korina and Ash said in unison. 

After we had sat and eaten lunch, Korina sparked up the question.

“So Y/n. Why does Swablu sit and eat with you and not the other pokemon?” She asked.

“Its a long story, but it all comes down to trust. Swablu was abandoned when I found him and I took him into my care and he became my pokemon. Ever since, he’s lost trust in anyone other than me, people and pokemon.” I looked down at my Swablu and smiled. “I’m hoping, if he evolves, he’ll be a little more confident.” 

“Cool!” Korina asked. “If you’ve got a key stone and an Altarianite, you could mega evolve your altaria when swablu evolves.” 

“I was thinking about doing that.” I replied. “I have the keystone, but not the mega stone.” 

“Wow! Where is it?” She asked. I pointed to my pocket and she gasped. “You can’t just keep a mega stone in your pocket! It’ll get lost! Before you get to Shalour City, you’ll go through Geosenge Town, there’s a jeweler who can turn your keystone into a piece of jewelry. And it’ll still work.” 

“Thanks, I’ll have to try it.” I replied.

Suddenly, a van pulled up with 3 people emerging out of it.  They seemed to be some sort of travelling fortune tellers who read the mega evolution of your pokemon. Korina’s Lucario and Pikachu were ushered into this van thing. The smallest of the group tried to take my Swablu into the van as well but I put him in his pokeball. Within seconds both Lucario and Pikachu were locked up into one of those cages. Next thing you knew those crooks named Team Rocket showed up, In their usual Hot Air Balloon. 

“You Crooks!” I shouted.

“Team Rocket?” Korina asked.

“They’re a bunch of bad people who steal pokemon!” Ash shouted. Suddenly, they disappeared.

“Lets go!” Korina shouted running off in a direction. We followed her. 

“Wow, these Trousers really aren’t the best for running in, or these shoes.” I huffed.

“Lucario’s here, I know it.” Korina breathed in and out. “It’s the special bond we share.”

“I could just be a hunch?” Clemont replied.

“I believe you Korina.” I smiled. Clutching Swablu’s pokeball in my hand. “Its like me and Swablu, we trust each other, but I know our bond could be stronger, definitely.”

We then saw smoke and ran towards it. Lucario and Pikachu shot out of the smoke and ran towards us. There was a shadow ball that followed suit, but missed. 

“I say we settle this with a pokemon battle.” The talking meowth said.

“What about a Tag battle?” Ash said.

“Ash! Please let me and swablu take this!” I replied to him.

“Sure, but I’ll be your back up if swablu faints.” He said.

“That won’t be necessary.” I smiled at him as he retreated.

“Posh boy’s going for gold I see!” Jessie giggled.

“Ready Korina?” I asked. She nodded. “Swablu! Centre stage!”

Swablu burst out of its pokeball with a loud chirp. 

Inkay and Pumpkaboo started on Swablu, thinking they could get rid of him quickly.

“Inkay use Psybeam!” James shouted.

“Swablu! Fly up high!” I shouted. Swablu shot up towards the sky, he then fell back and shot across the rocky valley we were in. Korina was dealing with the pumpkaboo, She managed to deal a lot of damage to pumpkaboo. 

“Inkay use Psybeam! Pumpkaboo use Dark pulse!” Team rocket shouted. I saw the attacks heading towards Swablu and I shouted.

“Swablu! Use Round!” I shouted, however Swablu didn’t use round. My beautiful pokemon flew towards Inkay and Pumpkaboo in at vicious speed. He knocked into them and sent them flying.

“Team Rocket is blasting off again!” They shouted as they were sent into the atmosphere.

“Woah!” Korina smiled. “Y/n, Swablu just used Take Down!”

“Awesome!” I shouted. “Nice job Swablu.” 

Swablu sat on my shoulder and nestled himself into my shoulder. 

“Now off to Geosenge town!” Korina said.

“Can we go with you?” Ash asked.

“The opportunity is unmissable.” Clemont remarked.

“I guess so, I also need to get Y/n a new holder for that Key stone of his.” Korina chuckled, punching my shoulder.

“Can’t wait, just need to find a way to pay for it.” I thought.

“Leave that to me.” Korina giggled.

“Really?” I asked. She just nodded and we began towards Geosenge town.
