Kalos King- Pokemon Xyz X Male Reader “Summer Camp!?” – 7

Hey all! Sorry I I’ve not been writing as frequently. I’ve been trying to come up with a new writing schedule, for this book especially. I think now I’ve got it haha. I think from now on I’ll be missing every 2 episodes of the Pokemon anime, apart from the important ones y’know. Hope you enjoy the chapter!

Reader POV

It had been a while now since I caught my Floette, and a lot has happened, Ash Fought against Korina and won a tremendous victory, I was in awe at his work. However after that we were stumped. We didn’t know which way to go or where we should go next, Coumarine City? Or relax for a bit before we head on. We ended up choosing to relax for a bit as Professor Sycamore invited us to stay at his Annual Pokemon Summer Camp, which we were all ecstatic for. And that leads us to the present.

“This is the cabin you’ll be staying in, Team Froakie!” The woman giggled. I shuddered as I was reminded about my own Froakie.

“Its cute!” Bonnie cheered as we all ran inside. I opened the windows and placed the little amount of my stuff on the sofa. 

“Let’s get out there and make some memories team!” Ash remarked, before being drawn to the sound of a battle.

Outside on the sand were two pokemon and their trainers facing each other, a man with a conkeldurr and a rather chubby man with the cutest pokemon I had ever seen. I opened my pokedex and pointed it at the pokemon, It was identified as a Squirtle. The tiny pokemon gracefully danced around the brute of a conkeldurr and knocked it clean out. It and its trainer seemed extremely happy about their win. Next thing you know, ash is running up to the bloke challenging him to a battle, however he seemed to notice something about Serena. He pulled a girl from behind him and she instantly gawked at her.

These people introduced themselves as Shauna and Tierno, and they knew Serena from her Pokevision video. I didn’t even knew she made one. Shauna then showed us her video and her amazing bulbasaur. And I felt like Tierno kept staring at me, which was kinda weird. 

“So what pokemon do you have Y/n?” Shauna jumped up in my face. 

“Oh! Oh yeah, Come on out team!” I shouted, releasing both of my pokemon. Swablu instantly cowered on my shoulder and floete wrapped its vine around my arm for protection. “It’s alright guys, we can trust them, they’re our friends.”

“So cute! Swablu’s are rare! And a blue-flowered floette too!” Tierno lit up with happiness.

“Thanks a bunch, these two aren’t normally used to humans. They’ve been through a lot.” I smiled at his compliment.

Next thing you know, Shauna and Tierno’s buddy Trevor arrived with his charmander going full guns ablaze. Ready to fight anything in its wake. Charmanders spark ended up burning a bit of Floettes flower, to which floette responded with a vine whip to charmanders face.

“Take it easy floette! Charmander didn’t mean it!” I knelt down and gave an oran berry to the charmander. Trevor thanked me before we were all pulled away towards the introduction portion of the camp.

Professor Sycamore told us the rules of the camp and the point system. After that he said that we would do some acquaintance battles, we earned no points but it was a good way to get familiar with other trainers. However, it was a bit difficult as there were three of the others but 4 of us who were able to battle. Ash and Tierno, Serena and Shauna and Trevor…

“You battle Y/n, I’ll sit with Bonnie and watch.” Clemont smiled.

“Are you sure Clemont?” I asked.

“Of course, I enjoy watching you battle.” He replied.

“I’ll do my best to win for you!” I giggled.

“So its me and you, Y/n.” Trevor stood in his place, I followed suit.

“Battle begin!” The professor shouted, and we got underway.

“Alright. Swablu! Centre Stage!” I shouted my signature line and threw my pokeball upwards. It exploded and Swablu swooped in and landed on the floor with grace. “This is my first official battle, so don’t go easy on me?”

“Oh we won’t.” Trevor smirked. “Use flame charge!” 

“Dodge it and use Cotton guard!” I shouted, swablu flying up high and using a perfect cotton guard. “Now go in for an Aerial ace!” 

“Not so fast!” Trevor shouted. “Charmander! Use Sunny day!” 

“Perfect.” I chuckled. “Swablu! Now’s your chance! Use Solar beam!” 

As soon as I said that, Swablu launched a powerful Solar beam towards the Charmander, however it retaliated with a head on flame charge. But it was no match to the power of the Solar Beam.

“That should be 10x more powerful due to the sunny day!” Trevor panicked.

“Swablu’s Hidden ability, Cloud Nine. It nullifies all move changes on a battlefield.” I giggled. “Finnish Charmander off with Take down!”

Swablu ended the battle by hitting charmander with a strong take down to finish. I looked over and saw Shauna and Serena were watching as well.

“You battled very well Charmander, get some rest.” Charmander returned to its pokeball. Trevor looked up at me and said. “I could’ve beaten you so easily if you used Floette, Fire and grass doesn’t mix.”

“Even, if I did use floette, It wouldn’t’ve gone down that easily. Floette is a pure fairy type y’know.” I giggled. Trevor looked at me in disbelief.

“That was awesome Y/n! Your swablu flies with so much grace!” Shauna giggled, before our attention was brought onto Ash and Tierno’s battle. After it had finished, we all retired for dinner.

“So what’s your special talent Y/n?” Shauna asked.

“Um..I guess I can sew a pretty decent outfit together in under an hour.” I shrugged, going back to my delicious dinner.

“Thats awesome! Are you interested in Pokemon Performances?” She asked.

“You bet!” I beamed, looking over at Tierno once again he kept staring at me. “That’s why I’m here, to follow my dreams of becoming the Kalos King!”

“Cool!” Tierno and Shauna gushed.

After that, we had all went back to our cabins for the night. I had decided to sit on the porch and meditate for a bit. I didn’t realise, but ash sat next to me, he looked over to me and said.

“I remember, the first time when we shared that tent that night, you slept in your usual clothes. Do you not have sleepwear?” Ash asked. I shook my head. “Would you like to borrow some of mine?”

“I guess so, as long as you’re fine with it.” I replied.

“Yeah, they’re used but they’ll do until we get to Coumarine City and you can find a way to get some money.” Ash replied, handing me his sleepwear.

“Its such a pretty night tonight.” Ash said.

“Yeah, I bet she’s looking out for me right now.” I looked at the brightest star out there, thinking of her.
