Reader POV

I was still buzzing after watching Ashes’ battle with Ramos yesterday, I couldn’t believe how much he’s grown since the battle at the Shalour City gym. But now, we were in the pokemon centre. Getting signed in for the Princess and the Princes cup. I scanned my pokedex on the screen and it came up with.

“Y/n, from Anistar City.” The robotic voice said. “Your all signed in.”

“There you go!” Nurse joy handed me a tray with Swablu’s pokeball on it.

“Thanks so much nurse Joy.” I took the pokeball and released my swablu, it immediately flew onto my head.

After we walked out, we saw that the streets were decorated in festivities. Of course, it was the festival of the pledging tree. Where it was said that the bond between pokemon and trainer is supposed to grow stronger when standing underneath it and giving your pokemon a gift. It was very cute to imagine.

“That’s so cool! We need to take part in it too!” Ash cheered. We all agreed to do that.

“I’m going to stay at the pokemon centre.” Clemont giggled, he clearly had an idea up his sleeve.

“Clemont, I want to leave Swablu and Floette with you. Because I don’t want them to know what I’m getting them.” “I chuckled, transferring swablu onto Clemonts shoulder, and giving him floettes pokeball.

“Thank you for putting such trust in my Y/n.” Clemont smiled. “I appreciate it.”

The others decided to leave their pokemon with clemont too. And then we went out on our shopping spree. It was Ash, Serena and I. However it felt very much like I was third-wheeling, which I didn’t mind. 

After going on the monorail across the port, we arrived at Hillcrest Alley, the centre of fashion and shopping. We started to look around at the stores and I got tons of inspiration for my gifts. I looked at many costume stores and tons of fabric and pattern shops. However, something sprung to me. It was some sort of jewelry store. I went inside and saw a beautiful lady at the counter. I believer her name was Olivia, she was dripping in jewels and different stones.

“Heya kiddy! What can I get ya?” She asked.

“Do you guys have any shiny stones?” I asked.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have any in stock I’m afraid.” She sighed. “However we do have these.”

She brought me over to a display case of many mega stones. I was in disbelief at how many there were. “Any of these take your fancy?”

“That Altarianite looks pretty.” I giggled.

“It really does, however its extremely rare, and definitely out of your price range.” She then brought me to the front of the store and directed me to the door. “Now theres the door so that you can leave.”

I thought she was incredibly rude, however my anger turned to fear as a woman in a black fur coat caught my eye, she looked incredibly like my mother, she even had a liepard, which snarled at me. After standing on the corner of the shop, the woman walked out with an altarianite clutched in her hand. I got extremely pissed but I was too fearful, so I made a swift exit. 

It was nearing to the end of the day and I still hadn’t got anything for my partners. However, I was lucky I had a gift with a sewing machine, so I bought some fabric and returned back to the monorail station, waiting for Ash with Serena.

“How was your shopping , Y/n?” Serena asked.

“Oh…um…it was good.” I was reflecting on what happened in the jewelry shop, and it made me think that my parents were in Coumarine City to bring me home, it became aware to me, that they wanted to lock me away again.

“C’mon Y/n! You’ll miss the monorail!” Serena shouted, ash grabbing my hand to pull me through the gates.

After returning back to the pokemon centre, I needed to start work on my gifts. I asked Nurse Joy to borrow a RotoSew. One of the latest in Rotom appliances. After getting the machine, I swiftly began designing two small tuxedos’ for my team. One in pink for floette, and one in green for Swablu. My aim was to have them wear them in the showcase, which was tomorrow.

“Looking good Y/n.” Clemont complimented my work. I noticed behind him he had a symbol of a swablu. I wondered what it could be for. However I finished my costumes for my pokemon and was now doing the finishing touches on my performance look. I made a striking, neon yellow blazer with a matching pair of trousers, I had rhinestoned a pair of tap dancing shoes which I had “borrowed” from the pokemon centre. After that, I was all finished, and I helped bonnie draw some of the pokemon for her gift.

After a while, we had gathered underneath the pledging tree, which was beautifully strung with glowing lights. We met up with Ash and Ramos. Ash had a huge bag on him and we all were excited to see each others gifts. After we had put our gifts under the tree, Ramos was about to give his annual speech, when he was inturrupted by a huge vacuum, which sucked up all of the presents, team rocket was behind all of this. Ramos was about to attack when, we stepped in to lend a hand.

The vacuum was destroyed by Ash and now it was time for the battle.

“Swablu! Use steel wing on pumpkaboo!” I shouted, swablu bursting off of my head and directly into the pumpkaboo, who was about to use shadow ball.

Clemont and his bunnelby took down Inkay, and now it was time to finish the bastards off.

As everyone attacked it was now my teams time to shine.

“Swablu! Use Solar beam!” I began. “And floette! Use Petal Blizzard!” 

After the beautifully executed attacks, team rocket were sent into the stratosphere. Blasting off again, as they usually say. We ended up giving out the presents to the public. There was one present which was shaped like an arrow. When I looked at who was coming to collect it, my eyes widened with fear. A man, who looked like the image of my father, stared down at me, my eyes welled with tears and he ripped the gift away from me. 

“Tch.” The callous man kicked dust into my face and walked away to his pokemon, the exact one my father owned, a shiny Crobat. I froze with fear, Clemont came to help me up and he said.

“Y/n? Is there something wrong.” He held my shoulders.

“I…I’m just imagining things….I hope.” I said, watching who I believed were my parents walk away from the tree. 

“Alright, let’s get back to the gift giving.” He said, walking over to where the others were.

I walked over to my pokemon and handed them their wrapped presents.

“Here you guys, you’ve worked so hard recently.” They opened their presents to reveal their costumes I had made, glittery and rhinestoned and all. “I know it’s not much, but I tried my best.”

Suddenly, I was attacked by both of my pokemon, Swablu wrapping its wings around me, and Floette using its vines to wrap around us three. I began to cry at how happy I was in this moment. But to make it even better, Clemont turned to me and handed me a present.

“This is for you.” Clemont had his head down, trying not to show emotion. 

I opened it to see a replica of the RotoSew, however, it was labelled as the SwabluSew, that was was the Swablu seal was for! Without hesitation, I wrapped my arms around Clemont and hugged him tightly.

“I just thought it could help you out a bit.” Clemont smiled. Serena and ash then presented themselves with presents for me.

“What is this? Gift to the poor?” I chucked, holding a tissue to my eyes.

“You’ve been travelling with us without a bag, so I thought it was time for you to become a full trainer.” Serena gave me her present, which I unwrapped to see a beautiful sky blue adventures’ backpack.

“And I got you this.” Ash held out a bright blue stone, On closer inspection I noticed it was an Altarianite.

“Where did you get that!?” I shouted, in sheer shock.

“Some lady in a black fur coat gave it to me and told me to throw it in the ocean.” Ash said. “But I couldn’t do that, knowing that you wanted one.”

“Thank you, so much you guys.” I smiled, pulling them all in for a hug, including bonnie. “You’ve really made me feel a part of the team.” 

“You’ll always be a part of the team Y/n.” They all said.
