“Someone has been following us,” I say when I am sure that this time. My sensibilities aren’t fooled by the alcohol.

He adjust and checks the rear view mirror, “How many drinks have you had?” He assess me before asking.

“You don’t believe me, fine.” I huff and swivel my head to the other side dramatically.

He checks his rear mirror again and continues to drive with a flat expression. Without warning he takes the next corner abandoning the main road that leads to where i live.

“Are they your bodyguards?” I enquire when the car does the same and follow us.

“I am my own protection.” He announces with smug.

I make a gag sound and he turns at me displeased. He is so full of himself.

“I will try and loose them.” He says instead.

I peek again at the white car that has been trailing us and ensured to keep a distances that we can’t see them clearly. This time it has decreased the distance between us but still can’t see its occupants.

“Do you remember the exact point you started noticing them? ” Mr. Thorne, asks.

“They started to follow us from the club, does this happen often?” My eyes dart between him and the car behind us.

“Why would you assume they are following me?” He takes another turn that connects to the road leading to my residence.

“Why would they follow me, have you seen my paycheck?” I glare at him. I can’t complain the money I get as his assistant and the compensation check I will receive from Katerina once this is over but just want to annoy him.

It doesn’t work. He turns to me and speaks, “You are a mystery, I could list some guesses.” He says , looking back at me.

I roll my eyes and lean back to get comfortable. I can feel Mr. Thorne’s glare burning through my skull.

He still drives keeping an eye on the white car and at some point we loose them as we get close to my apartment block.

“How do you know where I live?” I ask when he stops outside the apartment.

“I know where all of my employees live.” He smirks and presses his hand on the steering wheel leaning backwards

“You and your wife are something. You just love prying into people’s lives.” I comment making my intention to want to alight the car known when i grab all my stuff and open the door.

I step out and he does the same. I start to walk and he mimics my action, “What do you think you are doing?” I raise my brows.

“Making sure you get inside your house safe.” His tone is sarcastic. Probably doesn’t care.

I turn and scowl at him. “I am a big girl.” I inform him incase he is blind.

“With a big mouth that can put you in a big trouble.” He dryly remarks and i want hit his cocky head and show i can also throw big blows.

“And here I thought you would be glad to never see me again?” Sarcasm and bewilderment compete for domination in my voice.

“You have no idea how that thought appeals to me. However, for some reason my wife like you , I would think her determination to keep you as my assistant is for you to spy for her.”

I get nervous.

“Spy?” I huff in a dismissal manner, “I have met more interesting men, Mr. Thorne.”

There is a quick expression that passes through his face but he masks it by asking me to show me my exact apartment building. I know it is meaningless to try to refuse him coming up with me.

I lead him towards the poorly lit apartment that looks like it is one push away from falling. He looks around the scary pavements and can’t tell what he thinks.

“The lift doesn’t work.” I inform him when we walk inside. He looks back at the main doors that are unhinged, making it impossible to lock and back again at the lift.

“Why not move to where the lift works?” He asks so oblivious to some struggles in life.

I glance at him and shake my head, I can’t blame him. He has never had to struggle in life. Born into the Thorne empire.

Luckily i live on the second floor. He doesn’t look like the type used to walking up a fleet of stairs.

He watches me as i knock my door at some strategic points severally until it opens. The door is broken and doesn’t lock as a door should. If he has any opinion of how i open it, he barely shows it.

We step in and i am happy i left the windows open otherwise, it could stuffy. Mr. Thorne steps in and his eyes circle the room, slowly taking in what he sees. It a small apartment and uneventful.

It is a squeezed studio apartment, it has a tiny space as the kitchen, a couch that is squeezed next to my bed an a twenty four inch TV that keeps me company.

When his eyes linger on a something on my couch, i have to confirm what it is. My eyes growing wide when i realize it is my black lacy thong. I half run to where it is and collect it, hiding it behind my back.

Mr. Thorne looks away, spluttering.

“I am home. You can leave now.” I say trying to retain some dignity.

“I am not leaving.” He informs me and moves to sit without giving me any choice.

I stuff my thong inside my pocket and remain standing as i watch Mr. Thorne get comfortable in my house.

“Will your wife not be worried if you wont go home?” I ask with genuine concern. “I know i would.” I add.

He runs his fingers through his hair. “How could you possibly know? You have never previously been married. ” He says this calmly.

His words render me silent, triggering a nightmare i wish to forget.

I walk to my fridge and remove a bottle of water. I feel too dehydrated and still a bit tipsy.

“I only have a small bed. You should consider that.”

“Are you inviting me to your bed?” He asks suggestively.

“Eww…no. I am inviting you to leave.” I make a disgusted face and leave to take a quick shower. I can never sleep without a shower.

As the water runs through my body, i hope that when i am done that he is gone. When done i realize i didn’t carry a change of clothes out of habit. The clothes i had on have retained water from the shower.

I decide i will walk out of the shower, quickly grab my change of clothes and rush back in no time and Mr. Thorne will not even notice.

When i step out, i note he has removed his shoes and shirt and he is remaining with his dress pants and vest. On his hand he is holding a remote and he is browsing through my Netflix. He stops as soon as he sees me. The little towel does little to hide my body. And i tightly hold it on my chest, momentarily forgetting my plan.

My bed is just across the couch and that is why and my shorts and T-shirt are folded at. I gather the courage i need and head toward my target, I attempt to pass by Mr. Thorne and at the same time he moves his feet that i end up tripping on and within a blink of an eye i am lying on top of his naked.

The next chapter will contain mature themes like, sex and profanities.
