“Well, hello there, Princess. ” Â He said with a smug smile. He put the gun down and folded his hands on his chest.Â

Francis P.O.V
“You scared me! Oh my God!”Â
“What do you want?” I can tell the way he speaks that his definitely in a bad mood.
I took a deep breath and listen to the beating of my heart. I swear, my heart is cursing right now. “I-i just …do you always do that?” Â
“Do what? Point a gun at someone? Do you even have to ask?” What a bastard. He always makes me feel stupid, and I just lose my train of thought, like I don’t know what to say.
“I mean, I know you . . . you” Okay, I’m getting a bit anxious, I think I’m gonna be sick. I walk into his office and took a seat on his leather couch, close to his desk.
“It’s how I deal with people I don’t like.” Ouch, does he really have to say that? I’m completely aware that he doesn’t like me, but does he really have to point a gun at me?Â
“You knew. You knew I was there, didn’t you? And yet you point the gun at me.” I stood up and walk away but he pulled me back and grabbed my wrist.Â
“Why are you here Francis?” His grip getting tighter and it’s making my wrist sore. I tried pulling away from him, but he’s too strong for me.Â
“I-i just want to ask if you had dinner yet.”Â
He closes the gap between us and my body starts to tremble “The truth, Francis.”
“Okay, okay. I want to ask if you’re going out tomorrow.” He let go of my wrist and put his index and middle finger between his eyebrowsÂ
“And if I am?”
“I wanna go with you. I’ve been stuck here for days! And I really, really want to go out. Please! Just take me out to lunch tomorrow and that’s it! I promise I’ll never leave your side. Please, plea…”Â
“If you want a date, just say it. Get out, we’re leaving at nine.” He did not just say that.Â
________
I woke up a little early than usual, I peek at the clock and it’s only quarter past 7.  I did a little bit stretching and begin doing my morning routines. I’m actually looking forward today, and it feels like it’s going to be a great day. It has been a long time since Vince and I had lunch together.Â
I did my best to make myself look decent, as I stare myself in the mirror, I think I did a good job. I’m dressed in a semi-formal getup. Knowing Vince, he will definitely wear one of his tailored suits.
He always looks stunning in his suits, and to be honest I get a little envious how irresistible he looks, especially with women. I won’t be surprised if women flaunt over him today.
I heard a soft knock on my door “Sir Francis?”
I stare at my reflection and quiff my hair for the last time, “I’ll be right out!”
As I open the door, Hans looked at me from head to toe and gave me a questioning look. “Well good morning, you really look good today.”
I can’t suppress the smile spread wide on my face “I can finally leave this place!”
I took a step back when he raised his hands and utter words as if he was thanking the Lords for giving this day “At last, a day without you, my long-awaited day off.”
“I hate you right now, but I still think you’re the best.”
His mouth curved into a smile and signals me to follow him “Come on, Sir Vince is asking for you.”
I glance at my wristwatch and it’s eight twenty, just enough time for breakfast. As we walk through the halls, guards were scattered around the house.
The day I moved in, there were only a small number of guards in the house, but when Vince and I took our wedding vows, rumors have spread. The number of attackers and assassins have increased and same goes to the guards.Â
I heard Vince’s assertive tone as we approach the kitchenette, “Secure the premises.”Â
He was on his phone, and he seems to be in a vacant mood. I took the seat across him and he acknowledged my presence with a nod.
As soon as he finished the call, I can’t help but ask  “Is there something wrong?”Â
He stared at me for awhile, and move his gaze on my hands “Yes, there IS something wrong.”
“What’s going on Vince?”Â
“You seem to be forgetting something.” I raised an eyebrow and tried to remember important matters he might have mentioned. I bit my nail, a habit of mine every time I feel stress.
He starts tapping his ring finger on the table, and I cried in distress,”I am not good at remembering things.”
“Your fucking ring Francis.” I felt the blood rise in my face. I honestly wasn’t expecting that. I open my mouth but nothing comes out.
I roll my eyes and look away “Why should I? I don’t see no rings on your finger.”
He smiled, but there is something vicious behind the smile. His hands closed into fists and crouched forward, daring me to repeat what I said.Â
I stood up and back away “I’ll be right back.”Â
I race to my room as fast as I can and slam the door open. I looked through my file cabinet and reach the little black box. There lies a black oval halo diamond ring, a ring that has been passed down through generations.
I slip my ring on and sprint back to the dining room. Vince was leaning against the table, his calm and cool facade changed into a frightening demeanor.Â
He walks slowly towards me, his movements were deliberate as he lifts my chin and looks me in the eye, “You need to know your place. Trust me, you don’t want to see me angry.”
My hands start trembling and I feel sick to my stomach. He is ecstatic how he makes me tremble in fear. Â Although, this is not the first time he threatens me.Â
If I need to gain his trust, I have to do whatever he says “I-I’m-I’m sorry.”
“Mhh hmmm, your nothing but trouble. Look at you, you’re scared, your pathetic.”
