(Y/N)’s POV
The initial atmosphere was tense, but as chatter and boasting continued, the mood quickly shifted and before long, everyone was back to their usual chaotic self. Unlike the first time, I sat next to Izuku. Or to be more precise – he practically pulled me into the seat next to him. An exact duplicate of mom, he is. Overprotective and a walking, breathing, broccoli-themed water fountain. Eventually, Izuku shows a hint of concern that follows a particular question;
Izuku “H-hey (Y/N), That villain who grabbed you… D-do you know him?”
(Y/N) “Hm? Oh. No idea. Though I don’t think we need to worry about him anymore. I doubt we’d even see him again. I put a lot of force into that last shot.” I said with a prideful grin.
Izuku “E-exactly how much…?”
(Y/N) “Enough to have his ribcage come out his back.“
…
Kamita “You know… sometimes I forget you can probably kill all of us if you really wanted to…”
Now with Izuku (and anyone else who heard me) thoroughly horrified, I went back to playing on my phone until the ride ends.
Once back in UA, Mr. Aizawa gave a quick homeroom class, and dismissed us early as he had to join a teacher’s conference, probably to discuss the villain attack we just endured. As I walked from the class to the front gates, I was accompanied by Kamita as usual, but then I noticed another presence. A very familiar presence who’s getting slightly better at hiding.
(Y/N)”You’re improving. Still have a good ways to go, but you’re getting there”
Kamita “Huh? Who are you talking to?”
I turned around and looked at the tree behind me. Kamita followed, and as if on cue, my little stalker emerged.
(Y/N) “In a crowded situation like this, try to mask your movements with the crowd, and give breaks to your attention. I can practically feel you burning a hole through my head with your glare.”
Kamita “Okay, that ultra-awareness thing you got going on is starting to creep me out. You can probably hear the hair growing on my head.”
(Y/N) “No, but I hear the fleas.”
Kamita “Hey!!”
Kamita punched my arm and I laughed. Directing my attention back to Todoroki who remained silent.
(Y/N) “No need to feel left out. Kamita and I are going to an arcade. You should come with us, Todoroki.”
The invitation seems to have caught him off guard.Â
Kamita “Oh yeah, good idea! Come on, Todoroki-san, it’ll be fun!”
Todoroki seemingly thought for a minute, before giving me an indecisive look.
(Y/N) “Can’t decide?”
Shoto “I… can’t. Not today.”
(Y/N) “How about this weekend, then? Are you available?”
He looked to be in thought once again before returning to me.
Shoto “Yeah. I think I can go this weekend.”
Kamita “Alright! It’s settled then! Saturday, we’ll take you around town! Oh wait! Do you have a bike?”
Todoroki shook his head.
(Y/N) “You use your bike, and I’ll borrow your dad’s spare one. We’ll rendezvous at your place and go to Todoroki’s together. From there, he could just ride with one of us.”
Kamita flashed a smile at my suggestion.
Kamita “Ah good idea! That work with you, Todoroki-san?”
He answered with a simple nod. With a quick goodbye, we parted for the day and waited anxiously for our weekend.
*Timeskip*
Ahh finally the end of the class and the start of our first recess. I decided to go off on my own for now and make my way to the very familiar tree, expecting a very familiar person to also be around there. To my delight, I saw him sitting in the spot he’s usually at, staring mindlessly at the trees. For once, he was the one to greet me.
Todoroki “(Y/N).”
(Y/N) “Sup, Todoroki. We seem to be regulars of this tree.” I said as I sat myself down next to him.
Shoto “I like it. It’s quiet and no one ever comes here, other than you.”
(Y/N) “Should I take that as a cue to leave?”
Todoroki immediately became defensive, and I couldn’t help but giggle a little at his sudden change.
Shoto “No! Sorry, I didn’t mean it like that.”
(Y/N) “Hahaha! Calm down, dude. I’m joking. Wouldn’t have left anyway. I like this place, and I get the feeling you don’t really mind my company.”
He settled back down, and we remained there for a moment in peaceful silence, one that I eventually broke after my curiosity got the better of me.
(Y/N) “You don’t usually hang out with people do you?”
Todoroki was caught slightly off-guard but quickly regained his composure.
Shoto “No. They try to talk to me, but I usually just talk to you.”
(Y/N) “I’m honoured. But… don’t you want to expand your social sphere a little?”
Shoto “I… don’t know.”
(Y/N) “Hmm… well, at least you’re willing to talk to me. That’s something.”
A few more seconds pass in silence until we began speaking again. Our chats were pretty casual without any striking topics. Eventually we heard the ring of the bell and made our way back into the classroom. For the rest of the school day, I spent my time with Todoroki, even getting him a bit closer to Kamita in the process. After returning home, I took a shower, played some games, had dinner, and went to sleep as per the usual.
As I went about my day, I couldn’t help but feel excited for the little arcade trip we have planned for tomorrow. I’m also intrigued to see how Todoroki would act. As we’ve established from some of our chats, he doesn’t go out much and somehow I doubt he has a secret circle of friends that he can hang out with outside of myself and maybe Kamita.
Well, all the more reason to be excited for it I suppose.
