(Y/N)’s POV
The trip proceeded as was planned. Getting off of the buss, we make our way down into the encampment. We see food being handed off to families, some people working, carrying materials and equipment around, a few medical checks, and a few unfamiliar heroes (I presume interns) interacting and assuring the refugees that all will be okay.
Kamita “Yeesh… looks like whatever happened, they were hit pretty hard. I feel bad for ’em… good thing the heroes are here, huh?”
(Y/N) “Yeah. It looks like these people are getting cared for, but who knows how long it’ll be before they can return to some semblance of normal life. From the looks of it, this is still the early stages of re-settlement.”
Todoroki “The villains attacked without warning at night. Their intentions were unclear other than to cause chaos.”
We withdrew our attention from the refugees and focused it onto Todoroki who has been walking beside me for a while, but has only spoke now.
(Y/N) “You know about this? How? This wasn’t in the news.”
Todoroki “My… father told me about it.”
Aah… so his dad is a Pro Hero. I had my suspicions, and it looks like Todoroki’s little confession just confirmed it. Who else would know the details of the scene if not for the hero that arrived, and the refugees who experienced it.
Regardless, I’ll keep my findings to myself for the moment. I’m interested in finding out which pro here, but that can wait – especially as we’re coming up to All-Might, signaling that our activities will formally begin.
*Timeskip*
(Y/N) “Oh? Looks like I have a crowd. Wanna see something cool?”
Kids “Yeah!”
For our first activity, we’re tasked with helping out the refugees in any way we can. I’ve taken to help with the construction of a temporary gazebo / mess hall. Telekinesis is a very handy power in general. In combat, I tend to use it for its destructive elements, but just as one hand breaks, the other can fix.
For the past few minutes, I’ve been levitating stuff around; wooden beams, nails, hammers, roof panels, stone planks, and I’ve been going at a steady pace. Although, now that I have a crowd of people watching me, let’s make things more interesting…
I levitated myself off the ground and spun all the materials around, separating the pillars of the structure to have them float right above their desired positions. With a small gesture from my hand, they imbedded themselves into the earth. I heard cheers from behind me coming from the children who were watching my little performance. Next, the stone tiles for the floor flew into place in spirals meanwhile the beams that were to be the support of the roof made their way to their spots, and with another gesture from my hand, the large pile of nails flew and spun around me. Wanting to make things more interesting, I shaped them into a serpent-like dragon and as they flew around the gazebo, they secured the structure into place. Finally, the roof. With a strong wave, all of the tiles flew high into the skies. I turned around the face the crowd, with my arms crossed, and after a few seconds – one by one, the tiles dropped and landed perfectly in their place (with help from my quirk, of course).
A round of cheers and claps resounded from the children and some of the adults who watched me. I can’t help but feel satisfied at my part in this. Floating down, my boots touched the ground once more where I became subject to a barrage of questions and request for another performance by the children. A small bead of sweat rolled down the side of my face as I put my hands up and told them there isn’t any more material for me to build with.
It was then that I heard it. Stone being broken, a flurry of movements and shouts. I put a finger in front of my lips and signaled the children to quiet down. Eventually they did, and I turned to where I thought I heard the noise. Standing above a cliff overlooking the site, a group of villains stood and watched us.
Thankfully some of the other heroes noticed as well, so they were ready to react. The villain at the very front who’s body and face were obscured by what looks to be hands, turned his back on his and walked out of view. It wasn’t long after that we heard a loud crash and the sound of fighting.
From behind me, another sound resonated;
Villain “Well well. Look at this flashy little bird. What else can you make fly huh?”
I turned around with a confident (If somewhat agitated) smirk.
(Y/N) “Wanna find out?”
I launched an orb of energy that hit the thug, sending him flying back, and crashing into a pile of large pipes, knocking him unconscious.
I looked to the children. Some of them still looked uncomfortable but no longer afraid. In fact, I saw a smile on one of them.
His two buddies looked at him for a moment before attempting to charge at me only to stand on a pair of shovels that I positioned in front of them. One cartoonish whack later, and down they go followed by laughing from the children.
(Y/N) “Wanna see some more?”
Kids “Yeah!”
I readied a small orb of energy in my hand, acting as if I was holding onto a baseball. I aimed it at a group of villains, specifically on the head of one of them. As I did my little bit, I whistled the classic baseball tournament track and threw the ‘ball’ into the air. With a non-existent bat, I hit and scored! The villain knocked down and his friends came charging.
Moving forward, I fought them all, A few I sent flying with a hit from a blast of energy; for others, a good old punch in the face; a kick in the scrotum for some; and for the last two, I used my quirk to grab the backside rim of their underwear and pull it up as hard as I can! The resounding high-pitched scream from both villains was well-justified.
Kamita “(Y/N)! There you are! We need you on the main entrance! I think the villains’ main assault team is there. The pros are holding them off but a lot of the grunts are giving us a problem with protecting the civilians!”
(Y/N) “Alright. Keep an eye on these guys for me.”
Kamita “Will do.”
Using my quirk on myself, I flew over to the main camp area. Surveying the site from the skies, I could see the pros are primarily gathered at the entrance just as Kamita said. It was them that I saw the small army of thugs trying to cross a bridge into the encampment. With my quirk, I grabbed hold of the bridge, and collapsed it, condemning half of them down into the rocks bellow, and hurling the rubble to finish off the rest.
With their reinforcements taken care of, I descended to the ground and fought off any of their remaining forces.
*Timeskip*
In the end, the battle didn’t last very long. Without their reinforcements, and having their elites taken out by All-Might, many of the lesser thugs lost hope, and it was pretty easy for me to pick them off.
We gathered at the center of the camp and did a headcount. Luckily, everyone – hero, student, staff, and refugee were all accounted for.
Kamita “Phew! It’s a relief everyone made it out okay. But that was exciting!”
(Y/N) “You bet! I took out so many villains!”
Kamita “Ah! Speaking of – mind explaining the world-shattering wedgie you gave those two guys back then?”
(Y/N) “Kids were watching, and I wanted to give them a funny show.”
Kamita “You have a scary sense of humour…”
Aizawa “Alright, everyone back in the buss! We’re cutting the trip short!”
Despite the wails of disagreements, the students began filing into the buss once again.
As I’m one of the more combat-efficient ones, I decided to wait and make sure everyone gets in the buss safely first. Todoroki was the last one besides me and Mr. Aizawa. He walked past me and stopped when he didn’t see me go in.
Todoroki “Come on, (Y/N)”
(Y/N) “After you-!”
Someone grabbed me from behind and placed their hand around my neck.
Todoroki “(Y/N)!”
(???) “Well aren’t you the tough one? You single-handedly wiped out one third of our total army, did you know that?”
Aizawa “Let go of him!”
(???) “Don’t even try it Eraser! If I see even a glint of red in your eyes, my last finger lands, and he turns to ash.”
(???) “Now, where were we?”
(Y/N) “I think we were just getting to the part where you fuck off-“
A metal pipe came flying and hitting him on the side of the head.
(???) “Agh!”
The villain held his now-bleeding head in pain and let me go. My energy gathers at the palm of my hand as I ready a blast of energy.
(Y/N) “-And go back to whatever hole you crawled out of.”
Unleashing the blast, it hit the villain directly at the center of his chest and sent him hurling into a portal of sorts that disappeared shortly.
With him gone, I went into the buss, and hope we’re done for the day and get to go home early. I like fighting as much as the next guy, but spending my energy on wiping out an army of low-lives who aren’t worth my time isn’t exactly the best use of my powers. I almost liked the fact that someone managed to sneak up on me. But that does beg the question as to who he was…
