Chaewon’s birthday, Saturday
My alarm goes off, and I groan, sitting up and rubbing my eyes. I turn it off, and sit in silence staring at my wall. I check the time. 9:31am. I get up and go to my bathroom. I look in the mirror. I look a mess, my hair is a mess. I quickly fix my hair, and put it in a lose low ponytail.
Then I goes downstairs, My mom and brother are at the table. “Happy Birthday, Baby-sis” My brother says, ruffling my hair. “Shut up Beomgyu! I’m 18 now” I say back, playfully annoyed with him. “Still my Baby-sis in my eyes” He says, grinning. I elbow his side, and he makes a quiet ‘oof’ sound.
“Beomgyu, stop bothering you sister, it’s her birthday and she’s an adult now” My mother says. Beomgyu sticks his tongue out at me like he’s 10. I laugh quietly, and My mom puts plates in front of both of us. “Thank you Mom, this looks delicious” I say, then taking a bite of my breakfast. “It’s your favorite honey” My mom says, smiling.
“Thank you Mom” I say, then I take another bite of my breakfast. Beomgyu and I eat quietly. Our mom is tidying up as we eat. She finishes tidying up right when we finish eating. I wash my dish and put it in the rack to dry. “Chaewon honey” My mom says. I turn around to face says. “Yes mom?” I say.
My mom is holding a box wrapped in red shiny wrapped paper with a bow. “Happy birthday sweetheart” She says, then hands me the box. I smile and sit down that the table. I open the present, and I see a picture frame of Me, Beomgyu, and My mom. I was 4 in this picture. We had went to Disney Land for the first time back when we lived in America for two years. I smile, remembering that day.
“Thanks Mom, I love it” I say, giving her a hug. She hugs me back, then I hear a sniffle come from her. I pull away looking at her. “Mom, are you crying?” I ask softly. She wipes her tears. “I can’t help it, My babygirl is all grown up now” She says, her voice filled with alot of emotions. I just hug her again.
We pull apart and I take the picture upstairs to my room. I set it down on my bedside table, then my phone pings. I pick it up and I open it. It’s a new message from Eunchae.
Eun 🤩: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHAE!!!! I have something planned for you today, but it’s a surprise. Me and My sister are coming to pick you up at 4:30pm. Be ready!!
I raise my eyebrow in curiosity. But I waste no time to reply.
CHAEWON: Thank you Eunchae, and I’ll be ready, I can’t for whatever you have planned for me!!

I put my phone down and I take out the book I bought yesterday in the drawer of my bedside table. I had started reading it yesterday when I got home. I open to the place I left off on I started to read in silence.

I had been reading for about hours now. I finished the book I bought yesterday and started the second one I also bought yesterday. I pick up my phone to check the time. 3:19pm.
Fuck
I quickly get up and get ready. I forgot Eunchae and Yunjin are picking me up at 4. I quickly shower, do my hair, put in my birthday outfit i had picked out last night. Then I rush to do my makeup, which since I was in a rush, I just went for a simple look. Foundation, Mascara, and Lip gloss.
I check the time again once I finished getting ready. 3:58pm. I slip on my boots and I hear a car honk from outside. They’re here, I grab my phone and my purse. Then I head out the door.
I get in the car and Yunjin immediately drives off. Eunchae looks at me with a smile. “So, wanna tell me where we’re going?” I say, my eyes narrowed. “Okay, you know Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin and Hyein right?” She asks. I nod, they are really nice girls, and I’m friends with them. plus, Hanni was on the cheer team back when we were in school. “Yeah, I know them” I say.
“Well, We’re going to Danielle’s house” She says, smiling. My eyes widen. “Wait… really?” I say, kinda shocked. “Yep, I’m not telling you why though” She says. I roll my eyes playfully, then I just look out the window.
Whatever Eunchae has planned, I can’t wait
