THIRD PERSON
the next day

Chaewon was sitting in class, in her uniform. She had cheer practice today so She was pretty excited. This would be her first cheer practice as captain. She had done cheerleading before when she was little, so she always had the attention of people. But after 8th grade, she hasn’t cheered since. now she’s cheering again, which is a bittersweet thing for her.

She quit because she wasn’t into cheer after years of doing it, but she was happy because she knows that she has experience. soon, the bell rang, signaling the end of the day and chaewon rushed to the gym. She pushed open the gym doors, and saw it was empty. She set her bag down, and went to the coaches office. She politely knocked on the door.

“Come in” coach says and Chaewon opens the door. “Hey coach” she says. “Hey Chaewon, I’m guessing you need the speaker?” she says, standing up and taking a big speaker out the corner. “yep, don’t worry I have music picked” the cheetah says, pulling her phone out her pocket. “Okay, well do you know it’s wireless” coach says. “where’s the device name?” she asks politely.

“it’s right here” coach says, pointing to the name of the device on top. Chaewon turns the speaker on and turns her bluetooth on. she quickly finds the device name and connects it. she grab the speak by the handle and rolls it out the coaches office. “thanks again” she says loudly. then closes the door behind her.

She puts the speaker towards in front of the bleachers on the right side. the rest of the team had already entered the gym, they set there bags down in front of the left side of the bleachers. She quickly puts on her captain jacket and zips it up. “Hey girls!” She says with a confident facade.

The girls all say hello back.

First is Wonyoung, She’s super shy but also really pretty, she’s the second most popular girl in school behind Chaewon but she actually doesn’t mind it, she likes being second.

Second is Moka, she’s a freshman and but super energetic. she’s also soft-going.

Next is Park Minju, she’s a freshman like Moka, turns out they’re best friends. though Minju is dating one of the freshman girls on the girl’s football team, Yunah.

Next is Kim Minju, there is two Minju’s so Chaewon just calls them by there surnames, which they understand. Chaewon actually knows Kim Minju. they have been classmates since first grade.

Next is Hanni, she’s australian but she is super sweet and friendly. she is also loud so she can get any crowds attention.

Lastly is Yizhuo, she goes by either Yizhuo or Ningning. but her flexibility is very good. She is also very cheerful. if we were ever down, she could bring us up.

Chaewon looks at all the girls with confidence. “So this is our first practice of the season, so we need to bring it. We need to be fully prepared” She says. the girls nod confidently. “Being nervous is normal, but right now. just shake it off, your strong and you don’t fear that you’ll lose. we’re fearless” She says. the girls nod again, and Chaewon smiles.

“Good, now show me up you got. right now, make it up as you go” Chaewon says. the girls get into positions and Chaewon starts the music, she stands there, watching the routine the girls are making up. this is only the first practice so Chaewon has no expectations, all she asks for is the girls try their best and have fun.

HUH YUNJIN

Jihyo had said she was picking up Eunchae, so I stayed behind to get some more work done. after a few minutes, I start to get frustrated and I turn off my computer and I go for a walk around the school. I have my badge showing in case people confuse me for a student. I go downstairs and I pass by the gym, but then I go back to the gym door because something caught my attention.

I froze and my eyes went wide. It was Chaewon and the rest of the cheerleaders. She was dancing and flipping with them. My eyes were glued to Chaewon. The way she danced, she looked so… so… beautiful. it’s like she had a fire in her eyes. the way her skirt lifted when she would spin or do a flip. I bonke myself on the head with my fist, snapping myself from thinking that far.

I tried to force myself to look away but I couldn’t. before I knew it, I was standing in the doorway of the gym, leaning against it, my arms crossed. watching chaewon and only chaewon. I feel something in my chest rise, a pang of jealousy, mixed with something else. Desire. a dangerous mix of jealousy and desire.

I was imagining it my head. I just wanted to grab her, take her to my office and make her mine. I quickly shook my head, snapping myself out of that scene. I was tempted. I came back to reality. no one had noticed me yet. I forcefully pulled myself from the gym. I need to do something to forget about this girl, now.
