KIM CHAEWON
after cheer practice
I open the door to my house and I head straight to my room. I grab a crop top and some shorts, then I walk to my bathroom and I turn on the cold water. After today’s practice, I need this. I had noticed Ms. Huh watching me do the routine. it’s not official, it’s just made up but I felt… good. I liked the fact that she was looking at me and not anyone else.
my heart was pounding in my chest, it felt like it was about to burst. My cheeks were red as a tomato. and i thought my knees were going to give out underneath me. I strip down to nothing and step in the shower, letting the cold water run all over my body. it left goosebumps in it’s trail, but after a few seconds they were gone.
I let out a deep breath, my eyes are closed. my mind went back to the image of Yunjin watching me, how sweaty my palms felt. i thought I was going to pass out.

After my shower, I put my clothes on, and I just quickly blow dry my hair. Once my hair is all dry, I unplug my blow dryer and I put it in my organizer, then I go back to my room and I climb on my bed with my laptop. I lean against my head board, my pillows up against it too, squished between my body and the wall. I open my laptop and type in the password.
I go onto a site to make documents. and I open a new one. I reach for my bag, taking out my binder and a textbook. I open to the page I need in my binder. then I open to the right page on my textbook. I take out my pencil case and take out a mechanical pencil. then I plug my headphones into my phone and start playing my playlist for studying. then I get started on my homework and studying.

the next day
I had put my uniform in the wash, and there is no practice today. I threw on an oversized hoodie, and some leggings. I put my hair up in a small claw clip. Today was also going to be hot later, so I worse a tube top crop top underneath. I packed my laptop in my school bag along with my binder and zipped it up. I decided to carry my textbook in my hands.
My mom called for me to come down, I put my bag in my shoulders and grabbed my textbook, then headed downstairs. My older brother, Beomgyu is sitting on the couch with his girlfriend. “Good luck baby sis” He says loudly. I roll my eyes and head out the door.

“Hey Chae!” Eunchae yells, running over to me excitedly. I smile as she runs in my direction. “Hey Eunchae. Where Zuha and Kkura?” I ask, curious. “I don’t know, I saw them together by themselves, but they quickly walked away when they saw me” She explains. Now I’m weirded out, Why would my girlfriend and best friend do that?
“I’ll talk to them” I say. “Okay” she says, “My sister said to come to her office, you wanna come with?” Eunchae asks, looking in my eyes. My heart skips a beat when she asks that. “Uhh, yeah sure” I say quickly. “Woah, you talked fast. you okay?” she asks. “Yeah, I’m okay, I was just surprised” I say, laughing nervously. “okay, well come on” She says, then she takes my hand and we head to Ms. Huh’s office.
Before I know it, we’re in front of Ms. Huh’s office door. Eunchae knocks and then opens the door, dragging me inside with her. the door closes behind us, and Ms. Huh looks up. “Eunchae, you didn’t tell me you were bringing Chaewon” Ms. Huh says, eyeing her little sister. “Sorry, Anyways what did you need?” Eunchae says. I just stand there, my heart pounding and my chest tightens.
“Mom just texted me and said she’s picking you up at lunch, so just grab your things and go to the main office as soon as the lunch bell rings” Ms. Huh says. “Is that all?” Eunchae asks. “Yep” She says, then Eunchae nods. Eunchae looks at me and opens the door, she leaves and I follow. “Wait” Ms. Huh says, Eunchae couldn’t hear her because she’s in the hall already. I turn and around the door closes.
“You need something?” I say shyly, a blush forms on my face. She stands up and my eyes widen slightly. She’s wearing a crop top underneath her work jacket, she’s also wearing shorts that compliment her legs. her orange hair is wavy and let down.
“Yesterday, I saw your practice session” She says, standing in front of me. My breath catches in my throat. “I know this isn’t appropriate but you looked so beautiful” She says, her eyes wandering all over my body. then she bonkes herself on the head, she looks at me again. “Sorry for that, I don’t know what came over me” She says, the guilt shining through her eyes. “It’s fine” I say softly. “Please don’t tell anyone about that” She pleads slightly. “I won’t” I say, nodding.
She smiles and I smile. my heart is racing. “See ya Yunjin” I say, without thinking. I leave the room and the door closes and I realize I just said her first name.
“Fuck” I whisper to myself and I run to class.
