Unwelcome Guests: The Black Water Wolf Tribe’s Demands

“Talking”
‘Thinking’
*Movements/Emotions*
༻﹡﹡No One’s POV﹡﹡༺
In Takemichi’s cave, three orcs and one human sat across from each other in an awkward, almost tense silence.
The flickering light from the fire in the center cast shadows on their faces, dancing against the rough stone walls. Takemichi, sitting upright with his hands nervously fidgeting in his lap, glanced around at the orcs surrounding him.
Despite their intimidating size and appearance, he couldn’t shake the strange feeling of comfort in the air, especially from the female orc sitting across from him.
The silence was finally broken by a soft yet strong female voice.
“Ara~ Gomen, we came without any warning”
The female orc spoke, her voice warm and gentle. Her gaze softened as she smiled at Takemichi.
“You’re Takemichi, right?”
The female, Ryoko, leaned forward slightly, her posture relaxed and non-threatening. Her warm smile was filled with an energy that was not at all romantic, but nurturing, almost motherly.
Takemichi could feel the sincerity in her words, and strangely, it put him at ease. The weight of tension he didn’t even realize he had been carrying seemed to lift. He could sense that this woman, or rather this orc, wasn’t here to harm him.
Her aura was unique, radiating warmth like that of a mother who held deep affection for her children. Takemichi found himself thinking that her presence reminded him of a home he never knew he needed-a safe place where he could just *be* without the fear of judgment or danger.
Takemichi let out a small breath he didn’t know he was holding, the awkwardness slowly melting away.
He even found himself liking her, despite the odd situation they were all in.
‘She’s… really nice’
He thought to himself, the corner of his mouth twitching up in a shy smile.
There was something about her that made him feel like a child again-safe, cared for. He couldn’t put his finger on it, but Ryoko made him feel less guarded, less defensive.
It wasn’t often Takemichi found himself feeling comfortable around strangers, especially ones that were as different from him as the orcs, but with Ryoko, it felt natural.
Ryoko’s smile deepened when she noticed Takemichi’s slight shift in demeanor.
She could tell he was starting to warm up to her, and the little male’s bashfulness only made her affection for him grow. She wasn’t quite sure why, but there was something about Takemichi that tugged at her heartstrings, like a mother seeing her child for the first time.
‘Oh, how much I already like this little one!’
Ryoko thought, doing her best to suppress the overwhelming urge to wrap him in a tight hug.
She had heard plenty about Takemichi, but meeting him in person was far more impactful than she ever imagined.
Across from her, Baji-Keisuki, Ryoko’s cub, gave her a pointed look-a silent plea for her to behave. His amber eyes, though fierce, held a touch of exasperation as if he knew exactly what she was thinking.
Takemichi, still feeling the warmth of her gaze, hesitated before speaking.
“Ah, N-no, it’s okay…”
He fumbled awkwardly, clearly unsure how to address her.
“Umm… Ms…?”
He glanced at Baji, hoping for some kind of guidance, but his mind drifted elsewhere as he suddenly noticed the resemblance between the two.
The more he stared, the more obvious it became. From their long, wild black hair to the sharpness of their features-there was no denying it. Ryoko and Baji looked almost identical, save for their eyes. Where Baji’s were a fiery amber, Ryoko’s were a soft, deep brown that held a certain gentleness.
Noticing Takemichi’s confusion, Ryoko chuckled softly, sensing his unspoken question.
“Ah, my name is Ryoko”
She said, her voice like a soft melody in the dimly lit cave.
“And that male sitting next to you…”
She motioned toward Baji, her eyes sparkling with pride
“…is my one and only cub. My son.”
Takemichi’s eyes widened in shock, his mouth falling open slightly as her words registered. He snapped his head towards Baji, blinking rapidly.
“Huh?! Wait-Baji-kun… Kei-kun is your son?! That’s why you two look so alike!”
He exclaimed, his voice accidentally rising in pitch from his disbelief.
Baji flinched at the sudden outburst, but quickly composed himself, trying to hide the small flicker of joy that came from hearing Takemichi’s affectionate nickname for him. He wasn’t used to people outside his close circle calling him ‘Kei-kun,’ and though he’d never admit it aloud, it made him feel strangely happy.
Takemichi, now thoroughly embarrassed by his outburst, suddenly remembered the conversation they had at the entrance of the cave, when Baji had quietly referred to Ryoko as his
Â
“Mom.”
 Â
Realizing how slow he had been to catch on, he slapped a hand over his mouth and awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.
“E-Etto… I’m sorry! That was rude of me…”
He gave an apologetic grin, his cheeks flushed as he mentally scolded himself for being so loud.
Ryoko just smiled wider, clearly amused by the little male’s flustered state.
“It’s alright, Takemichi. You don’t need to apologize.”
She waved off his embarrassment with a graceful motion, her soft laughter filling the cave.
Baji, sitting stiffly beside his mother, didn’t say a word, but his eyes softened just a little as he watched the interaction.
Despite his stern exterior, the sight of his mother and Takemichi getting along so well made him feel a little lighter. This was a rare moment, a brief reprieve from the chaotic world they were in, and he was quietly grateful for it.
There was a sudden, uncomfortable silence that fell between them. The once warm and relaxed atmosphere shifted, and Takemichi could feel the tension settle on his shoulders.
When he realized everyone had gone quiet, he started sweating profusely, his thoughts racing.
‘Oh no… I messed up, didn’t I?!’
This was his first time meeting a friend’s parent-especially someone like Ryoko, who seemed so important.
Back in his old world, he never had the chance to meet anyone’s family. He didn’t really have friends back then. So now, being in this position, he couldn’t help but overthink everything.
‘Great, Takemichi. First time meeting a friend’s mom, and you blew it!’
His heart pounded as regret flooded through him.
He wanted nothing more than to dig a hole right there and bury himself in it, disappearing from the awkward situation he had created. His mind raced for ways to fix it, wishing desperately for the tension to vanish.
‘Please, someone-anyone-make this awkwardness go away!’
To his immense relief, it seemed the gods answered his silent plea.
Laughter suddenly erupted, breaking the tense silence.
Ryoko’s melodic laughter rang out first, soon followed by Baji’s deep chuckles, and even Chifuyu struggled to contain himself, a hand covering his mouth as he tried to suppress his own laughter.
Takemichi blinked in confusion, his mind stalling. Why were they laughing?
‘Did I do something wrong again?!’
“Eh? Why are you guys laughing?”
He asked nervously, his voice tinged with confusion as he glanced around, unsure of what had just happened.
Ryoko, still laughing heartily, didn’t seem to care how silly she looked at the moment. She and Baji shared the same sense of humor, laughing openly and without restraint. The resemblance between mother and son was uncanny in more ways than just appearance.
Meanwhile, Chifuyu managed to stifle his laughter a little, though his shoulders still shook with amusement. He didn’t want to leave a bad impression on Takemichi and was trying his best to be composed.
Truthfully, Chifuyu didn’t know why, but he was nervous around Takemichi. Something about him made Chifuyu feel a bit uneasy, but not in a bad way.
In fact, with the little time they had spent together so far, Chifuyu had already started to warm up to him.
There was something about Takemichi that made it easy to like him.
Yet, deep down, there was a strange thought lingering in Chifuyu’s mind-something that had been bothering him since they first met.
‘Have I seen him before? He feels so familiar… like I know him from somewhere.’
Earlier, when Takemichi first introduced himself, something had stirred within Chifuyu-a distant memory or a dream.
His name had triggered something, but Chifuyu couldn’t quite grasp what it was.
Could Takemichi be the same person he had seen in his dreams?
It was a ridiculous thought, but it wouldn’t leave his mind.
There was something undeniably captivating about Takemichi, and it wasn’t just his personality. Chifuyu had never seen anyone, male or female, who looked quite like him.
Takemichi was beautiful-far more beautiful than any woman Chifuyu had ever encountered-and that only added to the strange pull Chifuyu felt toward him.
Clearing his throat to dispel the odd thoughts swirling in his mind, Chifuyu finally spoke, his voice calm but with a hint of hesitation.
“N-Nothing’s wrong, ah… Takemichi?”
He said, his tone lifting slightly at the end, as if unsure of whether he was saying Takemichi’s name correctly.
He wasn’t certain if he should be addressing him by his name so casually.
Hearing Chifuyu speak for the first time since they had all gathered, Takemichi looked up in surprise. The sound of Chifuyu’s voice caught him off guard, and their eyes met. For a brief moment, neither of them spoke, both seemingly shocked by the sudden interaction.
Chifuyu, more than anyone, felt his breath catch in his throat. He hadn’t expected Takemichi to look at him like that, with those deep, expressive eyes. The intensity of Takemichi’s gaze was enough to make Chifuyu’s heart skip a beat.
‘How beautiful…’
The thought slipped through Chifuyu’s mind before he could stop it.
He was completely captivated by Takemichi’s eyes-so full of emotion, yet so soft. He had never seen anything like them before. They were mesmerizing, pulling him in deeper the longer he stared.
For a second, the world around him seemed to blur, and all he could focus on were those eyes.
Chifuyu cleared his throat again, realizing he had been staring at Takemichi for far too long. Embarrassed, he quickly averted his eyes and continued, trying to regain his composure.
“Chifuyu…. Chifuyu Matsuno. That’s my name. I’m Baji’s childhood friend”
He said plainly, his voice steady.
That was all he said, though he had wanted to share more-perhaps a few details about himself. However, he figured it would take too long and might make the situation even more awkward.
So, he chose to keep it simple and to the point.
(Chifuyu rarely calls Baji by his given name, Keisuke. Instead, he refers to him as ‘Baji,’ as it’s what he’s used to. In this land, only two people bear the name ‘Baji.’ Even though Ryoko and the other beatsmen could technically be confused by the name, they always know exactly who Chifuyu is referring to.)
Takemichi beamed at Chifuyu and nodded in acknowledgment, his smile warm and genuine.
He was happy to learn that Chifuyu was Keisuke’s friend-more than that, his childhood friend. Knowing that Baji had someone like Chifuyu by his side made Takemichi feel a sense of comfort.
The once awkward atmosphere shifted, growing warmer under the brightness of Takemichi’s smile. His warmth was contagious, and the tension that had lingered dissipated entirely.
Soon, they all began chatting, sharing stories and laughs. The conversation flowed easily, even when Seishu arrived with the cubs in his hands.
At first, Chifuyu was shocked, his mind jumping to conclusions when he saw the cubs near Takemichi.
His first thought was that Takemichi already had a cub, which, in his mind, meant Takemichi must have a female mate.
It was a logical assumption for a male like Chifuyu to make.
But Baji and Ryoko quickly set him straight, explaining the situation in detail. They had learned the truth about Takemichi from Lang Zhu, so they weren’t surprised at all. Chifuyu, on the other hand, felt a wave of relief after the misunderstanding was cleared up.
As the conversation continued, they talked about all sorts of things-Takemichi’s life, though he was careful not to reveal too much. Knowing he came from another world, Takemichi had to hold back and even tell a few lies to avoid suspicion.
Each time he did, he felt guilty, silently asking for forgiveness in his heart.
They also talked about Baji-stories from their past, little adventures, and memories that made everyone laugh. Takemichi thoroughly enjoyed himself, feeling a sense of belonging in their presence. He hadn’t laughed like this in a long time.
Most of all, he felt drawn to Chifuyu. There was something about him that made Takemichi feel at ease, like they could be good friends.
He didn’t realize it at the time, but this was the beginning of a strong bond.
Because Soon, Chifuyu would visit Takemichi frequently, and it wouldn’t be long before he moved into Takemichi’s home, Just like the rest.
But, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end.
The sun began to set, casting long shadows across the land, signaling that it was time for Chifuyu and Baji to leave. Takemichi felt a pang of sadness, not wanting the day to end so soon, but he knew they would meet again. After all, Baji’s cave wasn’t far from Lang Zhu’s, and they were all part of the same tribe.
With that comforting thought, Takemichi bid them farewell, relieved to know that this wouldn’t be their last meeting. As the day came to an end, he smiled to himself, content with how things had turned out.

 Â
Morning arrived, and Takemichi was suddenly awakened by a loud commotion outside the cave.
He sat up groggily, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
“What’s going on out there?”
Seishu entered the room, carrying a basin of hot water. As he wrung out a soft animal skin cloth, he leaned over to gently wipe Takemichi’s face.
“The wolf tribe from the Black Water River has arrived.”
“Black Water River?”
Takemichi’s curiosity piqued.
“Where is that?”
“The Black Water River is on the southern side of Rocky Mountain”
Seishu explained casually, his tone indifferent.
“There are several orc tribes living there, both big and small. One of them is a wolf tribe known as the Black Water Wolf Tribe.”
Takemichi blinked in surprise. So, there were more wolf tribes than he had thought. He had assumed that the Rocky Mountain was the only place in the world with a wolf tribe.
The world really is big… he mused to himself, feeling a little overwhelmed by the thought.
After a moment of thinking, Takemichi asked…
“So, the wolf tribe that lives by the Black Water River is called the Black Water Wolf Tribe… Does that mean the tribe living on Rocky Mountain is called the Rock Wolf Tribe?”
Seishu chuckled, not particularly impressed by the Black Water tribe.
He gave Takemichi a warm smile, his pale emerald eyes glowing with affection as he patted Takemichi’s head.
“That’s right, Michi. You’re really so smart!”
Takemichi: “…”
He wasn’t sure how to feel about that. It almost felt like Seishu was babying him.
Well, he decided to brush that thought aside and continued with his questions.
“Why is the Black Water Wolf Tribe here?”
Seishu’s expression became more serious as he replied.
“The leader of the Black Water Wolf Tribe is a half-brother of Keisuke’s father. They have different fathers, but share the same mother. My guess is they’re here because of Keisuke.”
“So… they’re here to visit family!”
Takemichi was startled but quickly understood.
Seishu, however, didn’t seem convinced. He suspected there was more to this sudden visit. It didn’t make sense for the Black Water Wolf Tribe to come here out of the blue.
They had to have some kind of ulterior motive for coming to Rocky Mountain now.
But that was wolf tribe business, and it had little to do with him or Takemichi-at least for now.
Still, despite everything, Takemichi hadn’t acknowledged Seishu or Baji as his official mates yet… But you can’t blame him-after all, the two had never confessed, and Takemichi, being completely oblivious, would never realize their feelings unless someone spelled it out for him.
Anything involving Keisuke could potentially affect them as well. (-well, the outcome is still the same eve if they did became his mates as takemichi is already involved with them)
Outside, the weather had grown colder, but inside the cave, the temperature remained pleasantly warm. Takemichi, wrapped in his animal skin cloak, felt completely comfortable and unaffected by the chill.
He glanced around and noticed that Baji wasn’t in the cave.
He was about to ask Seishu about it, but then remembered what Seishu had mentioned earlier about the Black Water tribe, along with Baji’s usual morning routine. He decided not to dwell on it.
Instead, Takemichi asked Seishu for help with a small project.
“Could you make me a waist bag?”
Seishu nodded and got to work. The waist bag, made from sturdy animal skin, was not only waterproof but also very durable. Takemichi placed a cloth bag containing his sheepskin atlas and fire tools inside the waist bag.
Once it was secured around his waist, Takemichi smiled brightly at Seishu.
“You’re really good at sewing!”
He awe exclaimed.
Seishu had already proven his skills by making leather boots, underwear, and now this waist bag. The stitches were fine and tight, the craftsmanship meticulous.
He truly was a home expert of the highest caliber!
Seishu, pleased with the compliment, smiled back warmly. He enjoyed doing things for Takemichi-it filled him with a quiet sense of pride.
 Â
*Whish*
 Â
*Bang!*
 Â
Suddenly, their peaceful morning was shattered by the loud bang of the wooden door, which Seishu had just finished building that morning, being flung open.
Takemichi jumped in surprise.
At the entrance stood two tall and burly orc males, their unfamiliar faces hinting they were from the Black Water Wolf Tribe.
They began shouting in rough voices, looking directly into the room.
“Where are the people here? Come out!”
A flicker of coldness passed through Seishu’s eyes as he sensed Takemichi’s sudden fear. He gently placed a reassuring hand on Takemichi’s back and whispered.
“Don’t be afraid. I’ll go see what they want.”
He secure, while putting a gentle smile on his handsome face.
Seishu walked to the door, his posture calm but unwavering.
“What business do you have here?”
One of the orcs sneered, crossing his arms with a smug look.
“The female in our tribe has taken a liking to this room. You’d better move out because this place belongs to our family now.”
In their society, females were rare and often regarded as highly valuable. Typically, males would yield to any requests made by a female without question, especially when it came to possessions or territory.
But Seishu wasn’t like most males.
The only females he would ever yield to were either his sister or those he personally acknowledged as important. To him, other females were nothing more than weeds on the roadside-completely insignificant.
With a cool, steady voice, Seishu responded.
“Hmmm, I see. I refuse.”
The two orcs were taken aback by his calm defiance. A male that looks like the leader of the group’s face darkened with anger, as if he couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
“What did you just say? How dare you refuse a request from a female?!”
Seishu didn’t want to waste any more words.
He reminded himself that this was Takemichi’s cave and turned to leave, but the two orc males weren’t about to let him go that easily. One of them swung a fist at him!
Seishu wasn’t the type to be polite when someone delivered themselves as a punching bag.
With swift reflexes, he caught the orc’s fist mid-swing and twisted it with a sharp motion, the sound of bones cracking filling the air. The orc male let out a scream of pain.
Without hesitation, Seishu kicked the second male away with a powerful strike. His voice cold, he commanded.
“Get out!”
Realizing they were no match for him, the two orc males clutched their injuries and limped away, supporting each other as they retreated.
Once the intruders were gone, Seishu turned back to the damaged door and began repairing it. As he worked, he warned Takemichi.
“Michi, the wolf tribe might be in chaos for a while. Try not to go out alone-it could be dangerous.”
“Yes, I’ll be careful.”
Takemichi gulped, clearly unnerved by the encounter, and nodded seriously.
From the way those two orc males had acted, it was clear that the Black Water Wolf Tribe had little regard for the rules of being guests. If they were bold enough to try and seize the house, they were likely capable of doing even worse.
 Â
.â— . â— . â— . â— . â— . â— . â— . â— . â— . â— . â— . â—
 Â
After their defeat, two orc males of the group returned to the temporary cave they had been staying in.
Inside, a female with a large chest lay on a stone bed draped in animal skins, lazily enjoying the attention of several male attendants. Her name was Li Wei, and she was notorious among the tribes.
Sitting up with an irritated expression, she frowned and snapped, “What? A male dared to reject my request?!”
Li Wei was known as the most beautiful female in all the tribes along the Black Water River, and she was used to having everything handed to her. From a young age, males never refused her demands. The audacity of someone standing up to her was infuriating.
Her two companions, still nursing their wounds, quickly explained the situation, which only deepened her anger.
“Tsk, useless makes! Take me to him”
She ordered, her voice dripping with malice.
It didn’t take long for her to storm over to Takemichi’s cave, still fuming from the insult.
When she arrived, she found Seishu standing by the freshly repaired door, holding someone wrapped in animal hides protectively in his arms.
Seishu’s eyes narrowed as he noticed the intruders, his glare sharp and unwelcoming. The moment the door burst open, Takemichi, startled by the sudden commotion, pulled the hides away from himself and turned to look at the new arrivals.
After Takemichi removed the animal hide, his face was fully visible to everyone present.
The orc males were stunned into silence, their eyes widening at the sight of such a beautiful “female” in the cave. (Once again, Takemichi had been mistaken for a female, despite being a male-ironic, right?)
If they-the males had known a “female” was living here, they would never have tried to occupy the house in the first place. The males suddenly felt ashamed, unable to meet Takemichi’s gaze.
Only Li Wei continued to stare at Takemichi’s face, her large chest heaving with fury. Her mind raced as she took in the sight before her, completely unaware that Takemichi wasn’t a female at all.
 Â
How could this female’s skin be so white?
 Â
How could her hair, though cut short like a male’s, be so smooth?
Â
How could her waist be so slender?
 Â
Li Wei’s eyes trailed over Takemichi’s small frame, the thin animal hide clinging to his body, outlining every curve.
‘How could this damn wild female look better than me?!’
Jealousy twisted Li Wei’s features as she glared at him.
“You!”
She shout, startling everyone at his loud angry voice.
“Where did you come from, you wild female?! Tsk! As the partner of the wolf tribe leader, I order you to get the hell out of here immediately! The wolf tribe does not welcome you!”
Her face contorted in rage as she shouted.
Takemichi was speechless after hearing that.
Takemichi, unphased, thought for a moment before replying…
“Hmm… I haven’t seen you before. You must be a female from the Black Water Wolf Tribe, right? But this is Rock Mountain. Even if you are the partner or mate of the Black Water Wolf Tribe leader, you have no right to control the affairs of the Rock Wolf Tribe, do you?”
He curiously asked.
It was true-since Takemichi had arrived here, many females from various tribes had come to visit him.
They’d been curious about the beautiful “beastman” (or human, in his case) who, despite their assumptions, turned out to be male.
These females hoped to become Takemichi’s mate, and once they got to know him better, many of them fell even more deeply in love with him. This newfound attention, however, wasn’t appreciated by some of the males-and we already knew who they are…
“Who said I’m the mate of the Black Water Wolf Tribe leader? I’m the mate of the Rock Tribe leader! I am the mistress here!”
Li Wei scoffed, clearly irritated.
Li Wei raised her chin, proud and arrogant.
“H-Huh? Since when did Kei-kun have a partner? Wait… why wasn’t I told? *Pout* Stupid Kei-kun, didn’t even bother to tell me he already has a wife!”
Takemichi blinked in surprise, clearly taken aback, then soon His frustration was evident as he thought about it.
After all, Keisuke was his friend, and they spent time together every day after arriving here. He was annoyed on a friend’s level, but deep down, there was a strange ache in his chest-something that confused him.
‘W-Wife?’
Li Wei was puzzled by Takemichi’s words but chose not to question them, since they made little sense to her.
She shrugged it off and, with an imposing tone, declared.
“Today, I’ve decided I want him as my Mate! He has no right to refuse me!”
Seishu, observing the scene, remained nonchalant, while Takemichi was shocked by her bold claim.
“Oh, so all this time, it was just wishful thinking”
Takemichi muttered quietly.
“I should’ve known… with Kei-kun’s temper, always baring his teeth and claws when he sees a female-he wasn’t close, how could he ever accept one as his partner or what you call it mate?”
Takemichi couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief.
Somehow, the memory of their first encounter flashed in his mind, and it brought a small smile to his lips. That moment had left him with an oddly positive impression of Baji.
Takemichi chuckled softly, the sound light and pleasant. Unknowingly to him, everyone in the room blushed at the sound.
Even Li Wei, who was usually composed, felt her cheeks flush, though she quickly dismissed the feeling. How could she blush at a “female”?
Her pride refused to allow it, so she shook off the thought and regained her composure.
“Who do you think you are to talk about wishful thinking, huh, you wild female?”
Li Wei sneered, crossing her arms and rolling her eyes in disdain.
She continued, her voice dripping with arrogance.
“Keisuke should consider it an honor that I’ve taken a liking to him! Me, the most beautiful female in the tribe! He should kneel down and express his gratitude to me! So who do you-“
Before she could finish her boastful rant, a voice cut her off.
“Who did you say should kneel down and express gratitude?”
The sudden interruption made everyone turn their heads. The male orcs blocking the door immediately stepped aside, clearing the way for two figures who had just arrived, both out of breath and panting heavily like they had run for miles.
Keisuke Baji and Chifuyu Matsuno stood in the doorway, their expressions a mixture of annoyance, irritation, anger, and above all, disbelief at what they had overheard.
The two approached slowly, and as they did, Baji’s eyes swept over Li Wei with undisguised disgust.
This female was no different from the others he had encountered before-selfish, greedy, cruel, and ruthless. Her sense of self-importance was overwhelming, as though she believed the entire world should revolve around her.
Just looking at her made him feel sick.
