**Chapter 4 of “My Roommate Seems to Be Bullying Me”**
“Eh, you’re not eating?”
“I’m full!”

By the weekend, Qi Shang insisted on coming with me.
“Who knows what that old guy might introduce you to? What if he has bad intentions or tries to trick you into something dangerous?”
Hmm… I guess Qi Shang’s concerns had some merit.
After all, Fang Ji-ge is a good person, but that doesn’t necessarily mean his colleagues are.
When I showed Qi Shang the address given by the parents, he suddenly fell silent, his expression turning complicated.
What a strange coincidence.
The person with bad intentions he mentioned turned out to be his dad, and the one who might trick me was his younger brother.
I asked him, “Why didn’t you tell me your brother was looking for a tutor? You could have taught him yourself.”
Qi Shang grabbed his brother and asked, “Why didn’t you tell me you were looking for a tutor? I missed out on a favor.”
I asked, “What favor?”
His brother broke free and sneered, “You think someone like my brother could tutor me? His college entrance exam scores were the highlight of his life.”
I felt a bit sad.
I’ve never had much luck with exams. I always did well in practice tests, but my actual performance in the college entrance exam was a letdown.
If I had performed according to my practice test results, I definitely wouldn’t have ended up with a roommate like Qi Shang.
For this trial tutoring session, I had my mom send over my old notes.
His brother exclaimed, “Wow, Qi-ge, your handwriting is so beautiful and your notes are so clear!”
I could explain the topics even more clearly.
After analyzing a few mistakes, his brother looked at me with a touch of admiration.
Qi Shang was busy making tea and cutting fruit. When he came in for the third time, he saw his younger brother hugging my arm and shaking it.
“I wish Qi-ge were my real brother!”
Without hesitation, Qi Shang pulled us apart with a snap and pinched his brother’s cheek, making it turn red.
“No matter what, I’m still your brother. You don’t get a choice, but I can arrange for a sister-in-law.”
Watching this, I felt a sudden inspiration. I had a flash of insight, like seeing a bright light behind me.
I figured it out… I finally understood why Qi Shang likes to pinch my face.
Unexpectedly, Qi Shang is quite sentimental.
As he looked at me with a smile, his ears slowly turned red.
“Why are you like this? It was just a comment…”
I smiled and said, “Qi Shang, I know what you’re thinking.”
Qi Shang’s face visibly turned red.
“Wait, wait, let’s talk outside.”
He pulled me into another room and slammed the door shut.
Still puzzled by his sudden rush, I saw him fidgeting, his eyes darting as he hesitated, “You know already?”
I nodded slowly.
He cautiously asked, “Then… what do you think?”
I tilted my head and said, “I think it’s great.”
Qi Shang’s eyes widened, and he covered his mouth with his fist, though it didn’t hide the smile at the corner of his lips.
“There’s nothing wrong with being protective of your younger brother. It shows you care about your family.”
Even though I didn’t understand why his expression suddenly changed and his demeanor collapsed, I continued speaking.
“But it’s not good to transfer those feelings for your brother onto your roommate. If you miss your brother, you can go home more often since your place is so close.”
Qi Shang stepped back, took a deep breath, his forehead showing some veins, and his gaze turned a bit fierce.
I was a bit intimidated.
Even though he was the one who asked me to talk, I hoped he wouldn’t get angry and hit me for revealing his feelings.
“Xia Qi, you’re really an idiot.”
?
I should record this and play it for Fang Ji-ge. Isn’t this clearly hostility?
I spent two hours teaching his brother, and as soon as the time was up, I was ready to leave.
Qi Shang, who had just called me an idiot, had vanished after cursing. He rushed out to follow me.
“Why the rush? Let’s have dinner after…”
Fang Ji opened the car door for me, took my bag, and turned around to see what was making the noise.
I had forgotten to tell Qi Shang that Fang Ji would drive me back to school after the first tutoring session, and also gauge his colleague’s satisfaction.
But there was no need for me to report this to him.
Qi Shang glanced at Fang Ji, then slowly composed himself, frowning, and stuffed his hands into his coat pockets.
“I’m going back to school too.”
“Huh? Why are you going back to school on a weekend instead of staying at home?”
Qi Shang didn’t respond. He came straight over and pulled me into the back seat, joining me there.
Fang Ji, with his usual good temper, closed the front seat door.
Once seated, Qi Shang stared at the air freshener in front of the windshield.
“Is this where we’re eating too?”
Fang Ji looked at us through the rearview mirror and asked, “Xia Qi, is this the roommate you mentioned?”
Being asked at the same time made me a bit dazed.
I ignored Qi Shang and responded to Fang Ji, eagerly sharing my thoughts on the first day of tutoring.
Qi Shang didn’t say a word until we arrived at the school.

As soon as I entered the dorm building, I received a transfer notification on WeChat.
Opening it and seeing the amount, I was stunned.
“Wow, 500 yuan?”
Qi Shang glanced at my phone screen and said淡淡:“It’s the standard rate.”
Knowledge… turns out it’s this valuable?
I racked my brain trying to remember if I had given my all in teaching; otherwise, holding onto this money felt a bit too hot to handle.
Seeing my hesitation, he directly helped me accept the payment.
Watching the money come through, I felt a bit dazed.
I finally had enough to treat Qi Shang to a decent meal. At last, I wouldn’t owe him anything.
Holding up my phone, I looked at Qi Shang eagerly. “Um… let me treat you to a meal. Consider it compensation for that time you had to stand on tiptoe.”
Qi Shang was taken aback for a moment, and his usually stern face softened.
He raised his eyebrows, seemingly amused.
“You’re using money you earned from my family to treat me to a meal?”
I didn’t see anything wrong with that. “No matter where it came from, it’s my money now.”
He nodded in agreement. “That makes sense. But…”
“You don’t need to treat me or make up for anything.”
“You just need… to stop associating with that guy.”
I was puzzled. “Which guy?”
“Your neighbor, the older brother. He’s not sincere… Never mind. He’s the same type as me, I know him well enough. Just avoid him as much as you can.”
