**Chapter 6 of “My Roommate Seems to Be Bullying Me”**

“You… are you picking up a corpse?”

The man sized me up and replied calmly, “I’m his supervisor.”

“I’m his dad! Anyone can lie! Put him down.”

The man didn’t release Fang Ji. Instead, he pulled out his phone and showed me a chat screen between him and Fang Ji.

I took the phone without ceremony and glanced at the screen.

It did seem to be someone Fang Ji knew.

But I was still uneasy. He seemed to read my thoughts and pulled out his ID card.

“Take a picture. You can check my information.”

Under my watch, he took Fang Ji away.

I watched the tail lights of the car disappear around the corner and then remembered I had another problem.

The problem was that I had kissed Qi Shang.

And what’s worse, he actually seemed to like me.

Neither of us had our ID cards, so we couldn’t get back into the dorm with the gate locked.

We walked along the road, one in front and one behind. As the night grew colder, I couldn’t help but sneeze.

Qi Shang, who was walking in front, stopped and took off his jacket.

I immediately realized what he was doing.

“You don’t have to…”

But he insisted on placing the jacket on my shoulders.

His hand, however, didn’t let go.

After a moment of hesitation, he pulled the collar of the jacket closer, guiding me a step forward.

“Don’t push me away.”

Qi Shang held me closer.

The jacket on my back carried his body warmth, while his chest pressed against my heart.

I felt trapped, caught in the gentle prison named Qi Shang.

“I like you, Xia Qi.”

The empty road was swept by the sound of passing cars, and my heart had never been so flustered.

That night, Qi Shang and I walked on the road until dawn.

After the confession, neither of us said a word.

Fang Ji sent me a message early the next morning, apologizing for his behavior last night and transferring the money back to me.

I wasn’t wrong—he was indeed heartbroken and drunk.

His sadness had been evident in his eyes these past few days.

【Is he a man?】

The reply took a long time to type before finally confirming.

【Is he the man in the trench coat?】

This time it was a quick reply.

【No, he’s my supervisor.】

I couldn’t help but worry about him. What if Aunt Fang was waiting for him to bring someone back?

I thought about my mom. For some reason, I felt she wouldn’t be like Aunt Fang.

【Mom, someone confessed to me.】

【Go ahead and date.】

After those two words, there was no more response.

I knew at this hour my mom would be starting her housework, steam rising from the stove. After a while, she’d just casually finish and go out to work.

I thought, I’m actually insecure.

My nonchalant demeanor is just a protective shield.

I have a father I don’t want to talk about, a family environment I’d rather not discuss, and a narrow, superficial view of the world.

Love is the only thing I can truly offer; it cannot be given away easily.

After Qi Shang’s confession, he became more restrained.

Despite his harsh words and apparent indifference, the truth was, he began to treat me with an unprecedented gentleness.

I also gradually realized that I had misunderstood him in many ways.

He found my clothes pleasant to smell and my voice cute.

He tried hard to control himself from touching me, but couldn’t help it.

After countless times of him staying awake while exhausted, just to accompany me reading in the library, I hooked his finger.

“Want to come to my house for a short vacation?”

He instantly became alert.

The peacock-like display of emotions returned immediately.

All the way, he chattered away.

Ignoring my suggestion to save energy.

Soon, he couldn’t smile anymore and began to look dazed after taking the third car.

When we finally arrived at my home, it was already dark.

He barely managed to greet my mom and then fell asleep immediately.

My mom said, “Oh, so he’s your boyfriend.”

I blushed and denied, “No, he’s my roommate.”

“Going astray, are you? Lying to your mom, he’s the one who confessed to you.”

How does mom always see through everything!

Qi Shang woke up in the middle of the night, very familiarly went to the kitchen, made two bowls of chicken soup noodles, and shook me awake to eat with him.

It was strange how he knew I hadn’t eaten much due to car sickness, even though he was asleep.

After finishing the noodles, he turned to me with a serious expression and said, “I’ve suddenly realized a very scary fact.”

His serious expression made me uneasy, “What?”

“Originally, we could do many things we love during the short vacation, but now half the time is spent traveling. We need to make the most of our time.”

I realized, “Qi Shang, have you gone mad from sleep?”

He pushed me down on the bed, “You invited me to your house, so I take it as you’ve accepted my confession. Are you backing out now? I’m already here, and you want to return me?”

As he spoke, he started touching me. I knocked him away to stop his unruly behavior.

Seriously, my mom is just next door, and she sleeps lightly.

After the knock, realizing I had used too much force, Qi Shang covered his head and lay down, groaning.

Feeling a bit soft-hearted, I leaned in to check on him. Qi Shang rolled over and hugged me tightly.

“I’ve been on the road for so long. Isn’t there any reward? Is hugging you to sleep okay? I won’t do anything else.”

Qi Shang was true to his word. I slept soundly in his embrace, and when I woke up again, the sun was high, and he was nowhere to be found.

I opened the door to find him discussing the seeds to plant next year with my mom.

“Breakfast is in the pot.”

Qi Shang took over my mom’s lines. She paused and then said leisurely, “After eating, take your roommate out for a walk. Don’t just hang around in front of me.”

This small village had nothing much to see; it was very small and could be explored quickly.

When we reached the field, I pointed to a type of grass and casually said, “This grass can be eaten directly; it’s sour.”

Without a second thought, Qi Shang pulled it up and quickly stuffed it into his mouth.

“It’s sweet.”

I was astonished, “Impossible, it’s sour.”

“It’s really sweet.”

His expression was so firm that I began to doubt my own perception.
